I DO NOT OWN RWBY

WHITE TRAILER:

Lights flutter as the audience settles in front of a big scenes - at the moment, its empty. When the silence stretches across the room, an amplified voice can be heard:

"Ladies and gentlemen, please, welcome… Weiss Schnee."

Willow prided herself on her ability to remain calm no matter the situation - considering her standing, it was a very useful skill, especially after marrying Jacques. For all his valours, he was a man of short temper and his controversial way of thinking was gathering a lot of attention, especially after her father's death. After Jacques assumed control over the SDC and things started to get... complicated.

But hearing her daughter's name announced out of nowhere, on a screen where the future was supposed to be shown in a manner of a show? It left her shocked with her mouth hanging open.

Luckily, neither she nor Jacques had to ask for it - Summer paused the footage immediately as the eyes of all gathered turned to them.

"Weiss?" Jacques shook his head. "My daughter is dragged into this as well, then? How wonderful. This day just couldn't get better, now could it?"

The man dragged his hand down his face with resignation, although she didn't miss that nervous tick of his. He could hide his feelings all he wanted, but the truth was that Weiss' appearance made all this so much more personal... and harder to simply play it down as just another weird business.

"Why would she be here?" Willow whispered. "What did she get herself into?"

And the question she didn't dare to to voice: will she be in danger? Just like Ruby?

"You know, it doesn't have to be her fault," Summer suggested. "Sometimes, trouble just finds you and you can do nothing about it but adapt to it."

Raven scoffed at the other's words.

"Would you stop spitting pretty speeches everywhere you go? The world won't get better thanks to them and the only thing you'll ever achieve is to give me another headache."

"Well, I'm sorry for being optimistic," Summer pouted, but she didn't seem that insulted by Raven's rather aggressive comment. Willow wouldn't lie if she said she didn't understand the relationship between the four people on the opposite couch.

"Let it play," Jacques demanded. "I want to see what this has to do with Weiss."

A young girl walks onto the stage gracefully. She is dressed in whites and blues and has her hair tied in a crooked ponytail. A scar can be seen over her left eye.

"Ouch, what happened to her?" Summer winced.

"Her heels broke and she tripped?" Raven suggested with a smirk before retaining her serious demeanour. "Who cares. She doesn't seem to be blind, so that's that."

Willow frowned, grabbing Jacques by his wrist before he could start an argument. She didn't need that right now. What she needed was to see where all this was going, especially since her daughter was concerned.

The origins of the scar could be a topic for another time.

Along with the music in the background, Weiss begins to sing 'Mirror Mirror'.

"She has a pretty voice," Kali admitted with a hum.

"I'm sure it sounds even better in silence," Jacques told her with a sneer and the Faunus merely rolled her eyes at the remark.

While Weiss sings, the view sinks into her reflection and turns around, revealing a vastly different scene where the girl is standing in front of a kneeling giant armour.

"Uh, what was that?" Ghira frowned at the screen.

"That's a nice effect," Taiyang said with appreciation. "So I guess those will be two events mashed into one? Saw those in movies like once or twice."

"Spoken like a true expert on soap operas," Qrow chuckled.

"Said the birdbrain."

Willow was less interested in the special effects and more in the giant armour that was right in front of her daughter. For some reason, she doubted that was just a lavish decoration for the manor…

The knight stands up, lifting up its heavy sword…

"What the-!" Qrow's mouth fell open at the sight, but he was the only one to say something. Others, like Willow, stared in shocked silence at the giant creature that was threatening Weiss.

…and brings it down onto the girl, but she backflips away to safety.

Willow breathes out a sigh of relief as Summer pauses the scene. For a moment, she feared that she would witness her daughter's death but luckily, it didn't happen. Her heart was still hammering as if she had been just chased by a Grimm across the whole mansion.

"Okay," Summer took a deep breath. "Any ideas on what is this thing?"

"Why are you looking at me?" Jacques gasped when everyone turned toward him. "It's clearly not my fault, now is it?!"

Although Willow wouldn't put it past Jacques to do something inherently foolish and put their daughter in danger, she doubted that he was the one responsible for a walking armour.

"Well, it's your house, isn't it?" Qrow cocked an eyebrow.

"So what of it?"

"I doubt it would've gotten inside without your knowledge. Or, maybe, you got it without knowing what it was… that wouldn't be too shocking either."

Willow watched as Jacques' otherwise pale face is coloured red as he puffed up in anger at the accusation.

"Do you really believe I would let something like this inside my own house, so it could endanger my own children? Are you insane?!"

"Well, whatever happened, it is in your house, and it is endangering your daughter," Taiyang pointed out before sighing. "But we can sit here and guess all the day, don't we?"

"Precisely my thoughts!" Jacques quickly agreed, clearly eager to get rid of unwanted attention. Willow closed her eyes for a second, trying to regain her composure, but her effort was all in vain as the moment she heard the music start up again, she lost all her focus.

Weiss unsheathes Myrtenaster…

"Why did you pause?!" Jacques yelled in frustration, turning to glare straight at Summer, who was mostly unfazed by his anger - although she did flash him an innocent smile.

"Sorry! I just wanted to take a better look at her weapon."

"It's a rapier," Ghira shrugged. "Nothing that fancy."

"Nothing fancy? Look at the hilt!" Summer pointed at the screen enthusiastically. "See? A rotating Dust chamber! I bet the inside of the blade is scrapped so the Dust can be applied and then…"

"Sum," Taiyang interrupted her.

"I'm rambling."

"You're rambling."

"I'm sorry."

…and then, she lunges forward, landing several hits while dodging the Gigas Arma's attacks. She is then knocked away when she blocks the creature's sword.

"She won't even bend it," Raven sighed. "She could start throwing peas at it at this point."

"Is there anything that pleases you?" Kali cocked an eyebrow at the woman.

"Peace and quiet."

Willow brought her hands together nervously, seeing that her daughter was, indeed, outmatched. The creature was too strong, too durable… With Ruby, they immediately knew that she can kill the beasts. But Weiss, so far, did absolutely nothing to the walking armour.

Weiss finally turns to her semblance and uses it to propel herself back into the fight.

"That's the Schnee semblance, isn't it?" Summer pipped in, excited, but refrained from pausing the scene.

"Yes," Willow heard herself answer - though her voice was dull, like on the other side of the mist. "Yes, it is…"

If Nicholas was here, with her, he'd bounce around like a little boy, happy to see his granddaughter using the gifts of the family. Willow remembered the first day she managed to form a Glyph and the rest of it spent on celebrating her grand success. She wondered whether Weiss had the same celebration after her first Glyph...

At the speed Weiss moves right now, Gigas Arma cannot hit her and she seems to be almost teleporting around it, placing one hit after another.

"Damn, Ruby's got a competitor," Qrow hummed in respect for Weiss' performance.

"Which one's faster?" Summer smirked. "My money's on Ruby."

"This one seems much more controlled than Ruby's, though," Kali pointed out. "But I think they're both equally fast."

Then, Weiss jumps over another strike but is hit by the armoured fist and sent tumbling to the ground. She attempts to stand up but fails.

Willow found herself at the edge of the couch with her mouth covered by her hands and her eyes unable to leave the screen. Was Weiss hurt? And even if she was, what could she do about it? She could pause it, but she'd still have to watch it to get out of here. And even then, Willow would forget that it ever happened, thus she wouldn't save Weiss from getting hurt again…

This… This show was surely a wonderful thing for some. But for her, it slowly started to become a nightmare.

"A punch to the face," she heard Taiyang hiss. "That had to hurt. Probably didn't do much if she used Aura properly, but still…"

"Come on, that's a broken nose with or without Aura," Qrow said before stopping abruptly. "What?… oh."

Willow didn't look to see what made him go silent. She couldn't if she wanted to.

The spotlight suddenly cuts off and the moon is shown with clouds passing below it. Weiss is singing in its light, her eyes still closed. Her scar is in full view when the scene shifts to the other Weiss, who finally stands up, Myrtenaster in her hands and her left side of the face covered in blood from a nasty wound.

"So that's how she got that scar…" Ghira hummed while Willow felt her heart sink in her chest at the sight of blood.

"I think you can relax now, Willow," she heard Summer say and she jolted on the spot, anger blazing in her veins.

"Relax?! My daughter is bleeding and about to get killed, and you…!"

"She's going to live through it," Qrow pointed out, interrupting her while Summer paused the scene. "She has the scar in that concert or whatever is she doing, right? So that's… what do you call it…"

He looked towards Taiyang, gesturing to him to finish the sentence. The man sighed but answered.

"Flashback. It's a flashback."

"Yeah, that."

"That doesn't give you the right to treat my wife's concern like it's nothing," Jacques huffed. "Ten minutes ago, you were all fawning over that Ruby girl, but when Willow does it…"

"No. They're right. I overreacted," Willow took a deep breath and tried to relax a bit. "Just… give me a second."

As she tried to compose herself yet again, Kali spoke up, bringing up another issue.

"Do you think we're entertainment, too?"

As others looked up at the Faunus, she was almost nervously tapping on her knees, her brows furrowed and her cat ears fidgeting on the top of her head.

"What do you mean?" Summer asked her, still comfy in Taiyang's embrace. They looked just like a happy, loving couple from a commercial, enjoying a pleasant afternoon together. Willow couldn't remember the last time she and Jacques shared a space like this. If ever.

"Well, they watched this for entertainment," Kali nodded towards the screen. "And now we're watching it… for entertainment. So do you think they… watch our reactions to this?"

Willow instinctively glanced around as if in search of cameras or holes, but nothing was there. But there were no doors no windows - no way for anyone to enter the room. And ever since they were kidnapped, she didn't feel hunger nor thirst, and she distinctively remembered being peckish before it happened.

"It's not like we have a way to check it," Ghira shrugged. "Besides, I think it's one of those things we don't have to worry about. Much."

"They already can watch us shower if they want to," Qrow added with a grimace that said a lot about his thoughts on the matter. "So this is probably the least of our problems."

Jacques sighed, pinching his nose.

"So this is a pointless debate. Another one."

"Let's see what's next," Willow said confidently. "Summer, please, don't pause until the end. No matter what."

Weiss holds out her weapon and spins the Dust chambers until the Fire Dust fills the blade. Under its effect, it starts to glow red.

"Ha!" Summer smirked victoriously. "Knew it!"

"I still don't see what's so special in it," Ghira shook his head at her excitement, but she either ignored him in favour of watching or didn't hear him at all.

Arma Gigas charges at Weiss and nearly slams its sword onto her, but she deflects the hit with her rapier. Then, she uses Ice Dust to freeze the monster on spot. She follows it with jumping on top of the sword mid-swing and using other Dust to disarm the creature.

"Oooh, she uses the Dust to alternate her Glyphs!" Summer nearly bounced on the couch. "And with it being a part of her weapon makes it easy to access!"

"Hey, it sounds like you don't appreciate Ruby's scythe anymore…" Qrow pointed out in a humorous threat. "Foldable frame, high calibre bullets, scope, adjustable blade…"

"Can those people speak Common?" Ghira cocked an eyebrow across the room, looking at Taiyang's exaggerated expression. But it was Raven, who answered.

"No. I don't think they even know it exists."

Weiss uses her semblance to thrust and lock Arma Gigas in the air before jumping up and powering through with a final attack that sends the creature to the ground, where it immediately disintegrates.

Willow allowed herself to smile - even though she knew that Weiss would live through, it was comforting to see her victory in the flesh. And such a controlled use of the Glyphs! Nicholas would be proud to be here and see her granddaughter in action.

"See?" Summer beamed at her. "She's safe and sound! Well… mostly safe and sound."

"Hmpf. She could've done better," Jacques admitted. "But then again, I don't know why she was fighting this thing at all. She should've run for the security and let it deal with it."

Willow rolled her eyes, unsure whether she should scold the man for doubting their daughter or to support him as he was her husband. So she settled on simply ignoring him. As usual.

As Weiss ends her singing, the music stops as well. The girl opens her eyes when the audience claps and she makes a shy bow before the lights go out.

Four cards appear again, with the first already being revealed to be Ruby. The second one bursts to life, revealing Weiss Schnee. A small glyph shines below it, melting into a white letter 'W'.

The cards froze mid-disappearing as Summer hit the 'Pause' button. Willow leaned back into the pillows, enjoying their softness and allowing herself to relax more. Weiss was safe - for the time being - and with this trailer done and over, she wouldn't have to worry about her girl until some time. Most likely. If she thought correctly, there were at least two trailers left to see, each about a different person.

"That was… interesting?" Taiyang huffed and chuckled. "A bit more dramatic, that's for sure."

"I'm not sure why we needed that… what it was?" Ghira frowned. "Two scenes in one? They could've just showed us just the fight. I'm sure it would be just as entertaining."

"Maybe…" Summer hummed, dragging out the vowels. "I might be wrong, but aren't that kinds of trailers to show some background to the characters? Like… we know that Weiss can sing. And is probably kinda famous…"

"Then what's the point of fighting a walking armour?" Ghira raised an eyebrow.

"It's cool," Qrow said as if it was obvious and Willow had to fight back a smirk. The man was completely obnoxious and had absolutely no manners, but she knew that her father would just adore him for all that. Both of them were the rebellious sort that refused to do as they were told.

"That plus maybe it's a metaphor for something?" Summer suggested, tapping her nose in a thoughtful expression.

"It was quite a sad song," Taiyang added after a moment.

"Please, little rich girl singing how lonely she is," Raven groaned, placing a hand on her temple.

"I mean, money doesn't solve all problems," he pointed out and Willow had to agree that he did have a point. "And kids like her probably don't have that good of a childhood."

Jacques jolted up at that as if he was a trap that was so far dormant and forgettable, but when triggered, full of aggression and violence. Sometimes, Willow wondered if the man didn't need some therapeutic classes for his temper.

"And what's that supposed to mean?! I'd have you know that out of all children you might have, mine will have the best education anyone can ever have."

"What about playing with friends?" Taiyang countered. "Enjoying your life until it gets sour? Running around barefoot, spreading mud around and getting yelled at by your parents? Acting like a goof with no consequences, and eating too much cake, and then complaining about your stomach hurting…"

Willow watched in awe as the man stopped to take a breath.

"What about being a child?" he finished after a second of break. "That can't be bought with money."

"Just because my children don't run around like loose mongrels it doesn't mean their life is bad," Jacques pointed out.

Meanwhile, Willow returned to that one time she had sneaked out of her room and into the kitchen and then ate so much cheesecake she could swear she was going to burst. Nicholas then found her, looked at her with that critical eye and complained that she didn't leave enough for him. He didn't have to punish her - she had already punished herself enough. But Willow didn't look back at that memory with fear or embarrassment. This memory was full of laughter and goofing around, long before she became too important to act like this.

Winter robbed their kitchen once. She was caught red-handed and punished instantly, even though it was just a pie. Just a piece of food meant to be eaten before it goes bad. But for Jacques, it was like breaking a law. And Winter had never done that again, and neither did Weiss do something like it. Willow wondered whether such little things were the reason why her older daughter was so… cold at times.

"Speaking of kids…" Qrow spoke up before Taiyang could muster up a retort. "Is it me, or is this kinda weird that we've got both our Ruby and their Weiss in this?"

"It's definitely not a coincidence," Ghira agreed with a deep hum as he folded his arms.

"Four girls… four pairs of us…" Kali followed up.

"And all of us, except for one, are marriages," Willow finished, wondering who are going to be the next two people when Summer jumped off her seat.

"Do you have children?!" she asked, staring Kali into her eyes so intensively that Willow wondered if there were holes in the Faunus' soul.

However, this simple question was asked in such an aggressive, inquisitive manner that it left the inhuman pair astounded and in shocked silence. Willow watched how Summer slowly realised her mistake and formed that trademark innocent smile of her to make up for her behaviour. Intentionally or not, she knew how to manipulate people - that much was obvious.

"Well… We have a daughter?" Kali answered, glancing at Ghira as if she wasn't sure about that anymore. "Why do you ask?"

"Four children, four pairs!" Summer told them excitedly, bouncing slightly in front of the screen. "The criterion was parents!"

"I thought about it already, but it doesn't add up," Taiyang said, stopping her bounce. "Sure, Ruby and Weiss support this, and maybe their kid is in one of those trailers, but… What about Qrow and Raven? We're missing one pair… Unless I should know about something?"

They turned to the siblings who first stared at Taiyang, trying to comprehend the question and the moment when the realisation hit them was as plain as the day. Willow watched as Raven's face scrunches in disgust and she leans forward with her arms opened in a blatant, silent questioning of what the hell the man was thinking. Meanwhile, her brother gagged, leaning to the side and away from his sister.

"Are you fucking serious, Tai?" Qrow grimaced, glancing at Raven almost fearfully.

"I don't know. You tell me." Taiyang smirked at the man, clearly enjoying his discomfort.

But the moment has passed and Summer settled down on the couch in defeat. Willow had to admit that she might have been on to something with her theory and that the six of them were marriages was too much of a coincidence to be an accident. But no matter how she thought of it, she didn't know how the siblings would fit in here.

"Let's just play more," Ghira suggested after a few seconds of heavy silence. "It probably will be easier to guess when we see all four people."

"Agreed," Jacques nodded with a clearly heavy heart. "We're just wasting air right now."

"For someone this rich, you're surely impatient," Summer muttered before passing the remote to Taiyang. "Here, your turn."

"Alright." The man shrugged and pointed the remote towards the screen…
