Witness
Petunia and Vernon Dursley stepped out of the house, ready to go pick up their son from Marge's place where he had been staying for the last few days. As Petunia glanced around, she noticed three of their neighbours were out in their front garden.
'We have to take him with us Vernon,' Petunia said then gestured to her husband who saw then other people out in their yards.
'Fine,' Vernon growled then nodded to his wife. Vernon went to the car while Petunia went back inside the house.
Two minutes later, Petunia put the small boy in the back seat of the car then got into the front.
The small boy was scared. He had never been allowed to leave the house before, yet his aunt had dragged him out of the cupboard and put a large jacket on him. He was now sitting on a seat in the car.
'Don't make a sound boy or you'll be in for it,' Vernon growled before he reversed out of his driveway.
After a long drive, Vernon told the boy to stay in the car, not to touch anything and don't make a sound. He got out with Petunia and went into the house.
The boy waited until his aunt and uncle had gone into the strange house before he knelt on the seat so he could see better out the window. He wasn't sure where he was or what they were doing, but he could see a lot of trees and he could hear dogs barking, a lot of dogs.
It seems like forever before Vernon, Petunia and Dudley got into the car and drove away. Dudley did punch him, which made him move further over towards the door. He was used to Dudley punching him but right now, he couldn't get away. He just hoped Dudley got tired of punching him and left him alone.
The boy's back and the back of his head was sore, from the punches but he knew he couldn't cry or make a sound so he just sat there staring at the bottom on the window. He wanted to be back in his cupboard so he the punches stopped. As he was wishing for them to be back at the house, Petunia screamed as the car skidded. That was the last thing the boy heard before everything went dark.
The boy didn't know it, but Vernon had pulled Dudley out of the car. Petunia got out and the three of them ran from the wrecked and upside down car. They never looked back, they just hurried away and hoped they could say the boy had died in the car crash which was why they left him there. They did go to get help but they believed it was too late.
Police and an ambulance raced to the scene of the crash. The police checked the car and found the small boy, who was alive but unconscious. They had the ambulance people come to help the boy while they spoke with an older couple who was out the front of their home. The couple said they saw everything. They had been sitting in their front garden having a cup of tea and some cake.
The boy was taken to the hospital, in a coma. The doctors had to operate on the boy to fix his multiple broken bones along with stopping the bleeding on his brain
It took a month for the boy to wake, during that time, Vernon and Petunia had gone to court for multiple charges. Child neglect, child abuse, child endangerment as well as fraud and child slavery. Both were sentenced to seventeen years in prison. Dudley had been sent to a foster home. Marge Dursley, Vernon's sister had tried to get custody, but after hearing her talk, the courts turned her down. She was also investigated and found guilty of child abuse and cruelty to animals. She was sentenced to four years and had her breeders licensed revoked.
When the boy was finally healed and allowed to leave the hospital, he was sent to a home for orphaned children. At first, he was scared and quiet. It took months before he began to talk and open up.
His name was Harry Potter and an orphan. The police got that information from Petunia Dursley after she was sent to jail. She explained that she was informed that her sister, the boy's mother and father had died two years before and the boy was dumped on her doorstep.
Once Harry was officially known as an orphan, he was put up for adoption. He was adopted by a middle aged couple who had a farm and always hoped they could have children to leave the farm to. Harry's name was officially changed to Harry George Skeers. George and Joyce Skeers were the couple that adopted Harry. They knew when Harry was older, they would explain that he was adopted and tell him about his birth parents. But that was all they knew. The police could never find anything about Lily and James Potter so there was no information that they could leave for Harry.
Years later, Harry was now grown to be a teenager and a boy that loved his parents. He went to school but after school he would help on the farm. He loved all the animals, especially his horses. He would ride every day, but always did his work first. The Skeers family was a normal farming family. Some strange things happened over the years, like things being found somewhere that it wasn't supposed to be. Glasses sometimes broke for no reason and one time during the night, Harry and George woke to the noises of all the animals. They believed a fox must be trying to get the chickens. By the time they got outside, all the animals were fine and no sign that anything was wrong. They sometimes saw owls through the day, which was strange but after glancing at them, they ignored the owls. The only other strange thing that happened was when Joyce had fallen and she believed she had broken her wrist. When George went to get the car so he could take his wife to the hospital, Joyce said all of a sudden it was fine. The pain was gone and the swelling went down. The only thing Joyce could say about it was that the moment Harry very gently touched her sore wrist, it began to feel better. She believed she must have just bruised it and apologised for making a big fuss. Both George and Harry hugged her, they also made sure she was fine before heading out to do their work.
The owls that had turned up originally had a letter in their beaks. But within seconds of landing on the roof or fence, a gust of wind came up and the letter's were blown away, far away, until they landed in the small damn that was on the property.
The wizarding world never found out what happened to the-boy-who-lived. They only found out he wasn't with his aunt when a staff member of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry had turned up on Harry's eleventh birthday to take him shopping. That was when they found out that the Dursley's went to jail for a lot of crimes, all against Petunia's nephew. The neighbours could never tell anyone what happened to the boy. The ministry had their aurors trying to find Harry Potter. The headmaster of Hogwarts had people trying to find Harry Potter. No one ever did. By the time they found someone who could get inside a muggle jail, Petunia and Vernon had both died. That had been their last hope of finding the-boy-who-lived.
Harry was now eighteen years old. He knew he was different. He had seen some of the things he had done. He had been out with his friends once and saw a pub that his friends could not see. Harry had gone back there alone and found out about the wizarding world. He had bought some books, history books and spell books. He wanted to find out more about this strange world and wondered if he had been part of it before he was adopted. It took him multiple trips and buying a lot of books before he found out what happened to his birth parents and he found out how he, Harry was thought of. The book had pictures of James and Lily Potter, with Harry when he was only a few months old. The only description of Harry after the night James and Lily died was that Harry looked like his father, had his mother's green eyes and had a lightning shaped scar on his head.
Harry didn't have a scar but he had been told about the accident and how he had been bleeding on the brain. The surgeon had to shave him, then cut part of his skull away. It was where the scar had been. After the surgeon stopped the bleeding and he had healed from that, everyone noticed that the scar was gone. Harry never told his adopted parents what he found out, he didn't want to scare them or worry them about this strange world. He would be watchful and make sure none of them ever came near his family. He loved his mother and father and he loves his life on the farm. He would do everything he could to protect it.
Harry secretly studied spells and even though his books said he would need a wand, Harry never had one but he had no trouble doing the spells. He found that in just over two years, he was able to do all the spells in the seven years worth of books that all students used, from first year to their seventh year. He did find other books of spells that were used by older witches and wizards, he had no trouble with them either. One thing Harry found was spells to help keep a place from being found. It would make it unplottable. Harry thought it would help against witches and wizards. So far, no one from the wizarding world had ever come near the farm, but now Harry could make sure no one ever did.
When George and Joyce retired, Harry took over the running of the farm. He was engaged to be married and his soon to be wife was like Harry. She loved the life of living on a farm and looking after the animals.
That was the life Harry Skeers wanted, especially now he had the woman he loved, but he still had his elderly parents. As far as Harry was concerned, he had the perfect life.
The end:
