It was almost two more days until the three students and teacher were alone and able to talk about the magical situation. The boys already knew, of course. Remus had seen a few different whispered conversations on the playground. Yet, this was his first chance to really talk to the other students about everything. He took his wand out and cast a silencing charm around them before they started talking.

"Alright. As you all know, Hermione is magical, just like the both of you. I saw her do a truly excellent bit of accidental magic. It almost rivaled Harry's treacle tart debacle," Remus said, humorously. The boys both laughed.

"What treacle tart debacle?" asked Hermione.

Dudley answered, laughing, "Harry here wanted a treacle tart when we were about 4 or 5, I reckon. Betsy told him no and put them up high where he couldn't reach them. He made one float down into his hands but the entire bowl tipped over. It splattered over the whole kitchen."

Harry laughed, too. "It wasn't my fault. I didn't know it would actually work. I just really wanted it to." Hermione laughed, too.

"Only you, Harry," she said, fondly. She had really warmed up to the boy. She just needed a mature man in her life instead of a young boy, she thought, looking at Remus.

"Hey, I'm not the one who kick-flipped a bully off the monkey bars," Harry teased. Hermione blushed and slapped his arm.

"Back to the subject at hand. Now that Hermione is known to be magical, I think she should be included in your other lessons as well. You're already taking Latin?" he asked the girl. She nodded her head. She started taking it when she learned Harry and Dudley were almost fluent in it. She didn't want to be left out of anything they were learning.

"Right. She'll most likely be invited to Hogwarts, as well. Hermione, do you think your parents should be told about this?" Remus asked, gently. "Harry and Dudley have not told their father yet. We fear his reaction would not be positive. Instead, he believes Harry and Dudley will be attending the Loch Beannach School for the Gifted. It's very near Loch Beannach in Scotland. Which way do you think would be easier for your parents? Harry and Dudley will learn magic at the school but they will also be keeping up with their mundane education so they can attend university after they learn to control their magic. Cambridge actually allows for dual magical/mundane studies," Remus explained.

Hermione thought hard for a few moments. She wanted to tell her mum and dad but she knew it wouldn't go over well. Her parents were hard atheists who didn't believe in anything that couldn't be explained by science. They were downright hostile about it. They'd never accept magic as a regular part of their lives, of her life. It would just hurt them.

"I'd like to keep it a secret for now. Is there some literature about the Loch Beannach School that I could share with my parents? Start laying the groundwork for them?" Hermione asked, feeling like she needed permission from someone to keep this secret.

Remus smiled gently at her. "That sounds like a good plan to me. I'll confirm this weekend that You're on the books for Hogwarts. Once we confirm that, we'll be able to send a recruiting package to your parents for their perusal. Do you think you could get them to sign a magical guardianship form for us? That would help greatly in our ability to keep things to ourselves."

"Yes, I think so. They'll sign it because they won't think it's real. They'll think it's some imaginary thing that I'm just playing at," Hermione said.

Remus smiled. He gave the form to Hermione. "Harry's and Dudley's father already signed one, though he didn't realize that's what he was signing. He thought it was an activity form."

"That's a good idea. I'll tell my parents it's so I can attend magic school. They'll agree to it. I'll act like it's a field trip to a theater program.

"That's good," said Remus. "We'll take a real field trip next Friday to the magical district to get you all your wands and to get you some magical books. It's time to start your magical education. We'll spend two hours per day practicing magic. I've already requested a private classroom so we can practice from 1pm until 3pm every day. The school thinks you'll be taking extra chemistry and cooking classes, so we'll be doing that, as well. Ask your parents if you can take a class on Saturdays from 10-11:30am on kiddie culinary cooking. It'll teach you how to handle a knife, skin different animals, make different cuts with both plants and proteins, and how to manage a flame. All of these things will come in handy in potions class. Just as fencing comes in handy for wand work and martial arts is good for Defense Against the Dark Arts."

Hermione looked consternated. She'd just started martial arts and wasn't taking fencing. She got a determined look on her face. "Could I possibly join the fencing and martial arts classes with Harry and Dudley? I know I'm a beginner so I wouldn't be in the same class as these two, who've already been taking the classes for years, but can I try to catch up? Please?"

Hermione looked so excited. She was going to get to go see Diagon Alley and she was going to learn everything she needed to know to excel at Hogwarts! She couldn't wait to go learn magic, something very few people in the world knew.

"She should take etiquette classes and ballroom dancing with us, too. If she's going to be part of the magical world, it will be expected that she'll know it," Harry said, wanting the girl to join all their activities, except maybe footie. She'd be horrible at a good game of footie. She might like to watch a quidditch game this summer though!

"That's true," said Remus. He looked at Hermione. He knew the girl would face some discrimination in Hogwarts. He looked thoughtful for a moment. He was taking Harry and Dudley to get inheritance tests and for Harry to sign the proper contracts to be named as Sirius' heir; he guessed it wouldn't hurt to take Hermione, too. You never knew what might happen, after all. More than one line has been revived through a muggleborn, though not many knew that.

"Hermione should join your playdates, as well. I'll let Sirius know." Remus said, turning to Hermione. "Would you parents let you stay overnight at a house with both boys and girls present?"

"I'm not sure," said Hermione. "What kinds of boys and girls?"

"Heirs to lordships and ladyships, mostly. A few additional children may join this year, yourself included, if your parents allow it. This year the group will begin having sleepovers. The boys will sleep in one room while the girls will sleep in another. There will be male and female chaperones with you the entire night. You can even host an evening at your own home, when your turn comes around, though I'll warn you, we only do these nights once per month and there are five sets of children in front of you before it would be your turn. You'd also have to be able to provide sleeping room for everyone. There are seven children, four boys and, including you, four girls. They'd also have to be able to provide the male and female chaperone or have room to accommodate them as well. Wizarding society is very strict about having chaperones when unmarried boys and girls are alone together, unless they're in a group with at least two boys and two girls. That's something you'll learn in etiquette class," Remus informed her.

Hermione was grinning broadly. "My parents would love it if I was spending time with other lords and ladies. My daddy is a baron. We live in a home that has been in our family for two centuries over on Spring Hill. I'm the last of our line and when I grow up I'll be Lady Dagworth Granger!"

Remus' jaw dropped. "Did you say Dagworth Granger?"

"Yes, my family has held the title in England since 1142," Hermione said proudly.

That was exactly when the magical Dagworth Granger line was said to have begun. Remus knew that because he'd extensively studied the Dagworth Granger line. They were the closest to a cure for lycanthropy before their line supposedly died out. The death hadn't appeared to have been an accident. Maybe the rumor of a squib line in the muggle world was true.

"I'd… like to take you to Diagon Alley next Friday. Let me write up a permission slip. I'll tell the school I'm taking you all to be tested, which we will also do. The trip to Diagon shouldn't take all day." Remus gathered up all the permissions slips he wanted Hermione to have her parents sign. He wrote a letter explaining everything to her parents as well, or at least as much as he was able to explain without the magic part. He also wrote up a permission slip for Harry and Dudley to have their father sign. It said they'd be allowed the day off for testing at the Ministry of Education on Friday and for a field trip as a reward for all their good work.

Vernon fully supported his boys taking a day off from school. He didn't know what good the testing malarkey was for but he was happy with the way his boys were turning out. They were athletic and competitive with their martial arts and their fencing. They impressed the snooty neighbors by speaking three languages and having a working knowledge of Latin at their ages. They impressed the lads at the club with their putting. He had no complaints about his boys. They were all aces in his eyes. If they happened to be excellent students, too, that was all the better.

Hermione's parents were also exceedingly pleased with how things were going for Hermione at school. She had a couple of good friends, a wonderful almost private teacher, and she was taking an interest in some physical activities too instead of just studious activities. Her father, an ex SAS member, was ecstatic that she was taking up martial arts. Her mother was ecstatic that she was taking up ballroom dancing. Her inclusion in the heirs playdate sleepovers was just an added boon. They'd researched each family and all were at least a few hundred years old, if not almost as old as their own. They beamed with pride at the strides she was making. Then, she got some recruitment materials to an all-expense paid public school for the gifted in Scotland! It was still a few years away before they'd need to make a decision but the Loch Beannach School for the Gifted was looking very fine indeed.

Friday rolled around and the children left school to head out for their testing. Remus had been able to sign the children up to see what grade level and what reading level they tested at. He also signed them up for testing of their foreign language skills to see what level of proficiency they'd attained. It was a full morning of testing but it went very well. The bubble sheets for the testing could be graded instantaneously while essays would take a few weeks to get back. The children had aced the bubble sheet work and the verbal portion of the foreign language skills test. Sirius met up with them and they had lunch at a pizza restaurant with ice cream as a treat for doing so well. Then, the group headed to Gringotts.

Hermione had brought 100 pounds of her birthday money with her to exchange for galleons. They did that while they waited for Harry's account manager to be ready to see them.

Account Manager Blingblade finally called for them. They trekked in together as a group of five. Sirius led the way, as he was Lord Black. The rest of them followed him in and accepted the seat offered to them.

"What can I do for you today, Lord Black?" Blingblade asked Sirius. Sirius grinned.

"You can help me out with a couple of inheritance tests and an heirship ritual so I can name my heir, Harry Potter," he said, waving his hand at Harry.

"I can indeed do that. The standard rate is 10 galleons per test. How would you like to pay the fee?" Blingblade asked. Sirius waved a negligent hand.

"Just take it out of my account. I'd like the test for these three fine, young magicals," Sirius said, grinning at the children. Harry rolled his eyes but Dudley grinned back.

Blingblade got out the small cauldrons that held the ingredients for the inheritance tests. Each child spit into one of the cauldrons, which began to bubble. The goblin held a piece of paper into the steam created by each cauldron. Writing began to appear on the page. With a wave of his hand, Blingblade dried the sheets and began to read.

"Dudley Vernon Dursley, you are the heir to the Noble line of Fineman. They are known for their transfiguration and battle magic talents. The line leaves behind a vault with 3,647,241 galleons. It has not been claimed in 147 years," Blingblade read. Sirius slapped Dudley's back.

"That's a fine line to inherit. They died out in the goblin wars of 1841. They fought on the side of freedom for the goblins," Blingblade said, offering Dudley a proud head nod. Dudley gulped and nodded his head. He'd do his best to live up to the fine tradition.

Blingblade picked up the next sheet. "Hermione Jane Granger, you are the heir to the Noble and Ancient line of Dagworth Granger. They are known for their Potioneering work. They supposedly died out in the magical line 62 years ago. The line leaves behind four vaults with a total of 42,327,689 galleons. They also leave behind a library vault, an heirloom vault, and a jewelry vault." Hermione perked up at the word library.

"Can I see these vaults?" she asked. Blingblade grinned and nodded.

"You can. You may only access galleons from your trust vault until you reach 25 years of age. The trust vault refills with 24,000 galleons per year until you reach your majority. Your backpay will be waiting for you. The same applies to you, Mr. Dursley, except your trust vault only fills with 14,000 galleons per year. If you'd like, I can begin investing your funds in both the muggle and magical worlds to increase their value?"

"I think we'd like to discuss those options after we hear the results for Harry," said Sirius, getting Blingblade back on task. Blingblade sneered at him but he picked up the paper and started reading.

"Charlus Jameson Potter V, you are the heir of the Ancient of Noble House of Potter, the Ancient House of Gryffindor, Ancient House of Slytherin by Conquest, and the Ancient House of Peverell. You are the secondary heir to the Noble line of Fineman. The ancient house of Potter leaves you 48,219,038 galleons; 16,942,742 galleons from Gryffindor; 210,759,020 from the Slytherin line; and 123,956,786 from the Peverell line. You are a very wealthy wizard, heir Potter. If I may make a suggestion, have the Slytherin line vault cleared of dark arts artifacts, then move the funds and items elsewhere. The previous Heir of Slytherin, a one Tom Marvolo Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort, might return to the living. While he cannot reclaim the lost vault, he will certainly try. It would be best if there was nothing for him to find."

Remus and Sirius gasped. Lord Voldemort had that much gold at his disposal? Who knew what other nasty things he had in his vault?

"Do the same for the Black properties and vaults, Blingblade. Including my terrible cousin Bellatrix LeStrange's vault. I will be recalling her dowry, which is all that resides in the vaults if I remember correctly," Sirius said, snootily.

Blingblade laughed. "It will be if you annul her marriage for breach of contract purposes. You'd take their properties, too."

Sirius grinned like a shark, "Do it."

Blingblade wrote up the paperwork to transfer ownership for all the vaults. Sirius was the magical guardian for all the children so it was a pretty simple, if painful, process. Blood quills were no one's friend with that many papers to sign.

Sirius and Remus escorted the children to their new vaults to gather their new heirship rings and anything else they thought was needed, as long as Sirius and Remus agreed.

Hermione found a library trunk and loaded it full. Sirius let her take it after Remus checked all the books to make sure they weren't dark. She also took a lovely protective pendant with her house crest and her heiress ring.

Dudley took a set of magical knives, one of which he gave to Harry, and a bag full of galleons from his vault. He knew there were other things he'd want to buy in Diagon Alley, plus his father had shown him that having a few galleons could go a long way, if you knew what to do with gold and Dudley did know.

Harry took a set of magical rapiers that he gave to Hermione and Dudley, keeping one for himself. He took a small bag of galleons and an amazing trunk with flat inside. It had seven other compartments but the secret flat compartment with the loo, the kitchenette, the study, and the potions laboratory was his favorite. He intended to bring it to school so they could practice magic in their private classroom without fear of being caught.

Sirius and Remus were quite pleased with the day's activities. Things had turned out better than expected for each child but especially for young Harry. With a long day under their belts already, they headed out for an afternoon of shopping with the children.
