"Seriously. I wasn't invited to the wedding?" Ashley's tone came out angrier than she had planned.

Tim looked at her dumbfounded. "It wasn't the actual wedding."

"Tim, that's not the point. The point is that you should've invited me to go with you." Ashley wanted to scream. There was no way this man was this oblivious.

Tim shrugged as he took a bite of his steak. Between bites, he answered. "I don't do weddings."

"You just said it wasn't a wedding. And..." Ashley was getting exasperated. "...and that excuse doesn't work when you are the one that went without me."

Tim rolled his eyes without meaning to.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Ashley's voice came out in a screech.

"What? No." Tim didn't think he did. Did he?

"Let's start over." Ashley continued to pace in front of the kitchen counter. "Why didn't you invite me to the reception? You know I'd have loved to dress up along with you. I love stuff like that."

Tim again took a bite. He savored the steak before answering. "I didn't dress up really."

"Oh my gosh, Tim. You know what I mean. I saw how people were dressed up." Ashley threw up her hands. She was getting nowhere with him.

"Like I said. It wasn't that big a deal. Besides, Angela planned it all as a surprise for Nyla. Not to mention, Lucy was aggravated with me. I wanted to clear the air with her." Tim made a face at the little swirled green goop on his plate. He'd just stick to the steak.

"Lucy!" Ashley froze in place. Her face turned red with anger. Not that Tim noticed. He was busy pushing aside her special artichoke dip. "Don't you like my dip?" Ashley felt hurt. She had worked hard on the recipe.

Tim stuffed another bite of steak in his mouth. "This is good." He said with his mouth full.

Ashley stopped her pacing long enough to shoot Tim an angered glare. "What was Lucy mad about? Didn't you share your lunch with her or something?" Yes, it was a dig about him allowing Lucy to take his mushroom on their double date.

Again, Tim took a bite of his steak. Again, he pushed the green dip farther away. Then he went back on topic. "Naw. We didn't patrol together. So we didn't have lunch together."

Maybe he is that oblivious. Ashley closed her eyes in frustration. "You could've called to ask."

Again, Tim shrugged. "I was busy with a rookie all day. And like I mentioned, Lucy was mad so I was thinking how I could fix it. She was feeling she didn't get enough credit for our cases. She was right."

Ashley stared at Tim like he had a third eye. "Did you fix Lucy's problem?"

It wasn't like Ashley cared. It was more a sarcastic question than really curiosity.

"Yeah. When we were dancing together, I told her I'd put her name as arresting officer." Tim stated nonchalantly.

Ashley balled up her fists. She wouldn't even think about Tim dancing with Lucy while she sat at home watching a rerun of True Crime. She didn't even like True Crime but Tim was on it. He looked so handsome. Not to mention, he seemed put off by Lucy. Well, that's what Ashley saw when she watched it. Her friend, Amelia, said Tim and Lucy reminded her of a bickering married couple.

Ashley's phone dinged causing her to pause on her next tirade. Her friend, Amelia, was rubbing it in. She sent a photo from the reception. It was Tim and Lucy dancing. They were both smiling from ear to ear. Then another photo popped up. It was of Lucy and Tim staring at one another while they danced. Then the last one made a ringing sound. It was Lucy with her head on Tim's shoulder as they danced. Maybe Amelia wasn't such a good friend.

"Did you have fun?" Ashley held up the phone to Tim's face.

Tim smiled as he looked at the phone. "Yeah. It was great."

Ashley crossed her arms over her chest. "I need to go. I think we need a break from one another. I need to reevaluate this relationship."

Tim glanced at her. He frowned slightly before saying. "Okay."

"Okay!" Ashley grabbed up her purse to leave.

"Hey, Ashley." Tim stopped her before she could get out the door.

"Yes." She turned around with high hopes that he'd understand. Maybe he'd even ask her to stay.

"Don't forget your dish. I'm not into that green goo." Tim held up her avocado dip.

Ashley stormed out. She slammed the door as she went. Tim took another bite of his steak. He looked down at Kojo.

"I can't believe she got that upset over her green dip."
