Adjustment and Training

Upon getting measurements done, clothing will be made for Tomo, with the addition of a necessity young girls should have.

Then upon leaving Shuna's workshop, Rimuru announced through Telepathic Communication that Tomo, the only Human in Tempest and a Stray Otherworlder at that, is now a Tempest Citizen and his ward. Picture of her appearance included.

Its now winter in Tempest, but in Earth, it looks like summer vacation is about to come. Luckily Tomo came with Thermal Fluctuation so winter is no issue for her.

'Well Tomo, for winter, let's start with teaching you magic.' Rimuru told her. 'And physical training. As a human with Unique Skill, that alone makes you an A-Class human...and having two makes you a B-Class majin, in terms of magicule content. But should you master your abilities, your rating will go S-Class.' he said. 'And you can become a majin safely as a result if you feel like it.'

'Yes! I'd like to start with martial arts first!' Tomo gasped out. 'Who can teach me that?'

'For now, we will train your muscles so that by end of winter, you're ready for your teacher in martial arts basics, as well as eating healthy. You need it. Bad.' Rimuru deadpanned. 'Utilize your Assimilation Skill regarding nutritional assimilation. My Skill will guide you.' he said, patting her head again for her to hear the voice again.

Acknowledged.

To guide nutritional assimilation, you focus on digesting and absorbing as much of your meals as possible through the small intestines, leaving only empty waste behind to flow to your larger intestines for disposal. Once the small intestines has absorbed the nutrition enhanced by your skill, the nutrients from food will go to corresponding places to build and reinforce health of skin, hair, fingernails, muscles, nerves, blood, organs and bones.

Currently the most vulnerable place, is your bones and in turn, your blood as blood comes from Bone Marrows. You have protein from meals you have eaten in the past, but with Sky Sealing, you absorb so little in turn with much resources going to waste. You are prone to damages caused by anemia and low oxygen flow to the whole body and easily vulnerable to broken bones. It is recommended that you eat food good for bones, and immune system, as well as eye and blood health as priority for the time being.

It is to be noted that without sufficient oxygen supply to brain, it also contributes to poor learning retention and foggy memory issues.

"YIKES!" she was a dead man walking as vulnerable as a cookie?! 'R-Rimuru-san...I'm in trouble...' Tomo whimpered at Rimuru, terrified with her condition who looked just as grim.

'Yup, we're adjusting.' Rimuru agreed darkly as his ward is frailer than a goblin child, and that's saying something... "Great Sage, what ingredients should Tomo eat to focus on those the whole winter...? Forward to Shuna afterwards."

Rimuru has encouraged a balanced diet in Tempest to avoid Tomo's situation for a reason, as monsters eat mostly meat and fruit, not even acknowledging vegetables...unless you're Milim's band of priests, or Dryads. It was he who introduced Healthy Eating taught to Japanese Kids in Elementary School growing up. That on first year alone, he managed to get them used to it, as well as introducing bread in their diet as sigh...no rice. They have yet to find an equivalent for that...

Dinner?

'Here you go Tomo.' said Shuna, putting a large bowl of food and a plate with a large loaf of bread on the table for her as in Tempest, everyone eats together in the large town square. Its only at home you eat breakfast, and lunch at one's workplace. But dinner, everyone's one big happy family in a banquet.

'Thank you, Shuna.' said Tomo with a shy smile but her eyes widened. In that bowl is enough for a family of six in regards to vegetables, meat, boiled eggs and...a giant crab pincer. But given her skill, she can finish it all.

'By the way, what meat is this? Its so tender...' Tomo marveled at the meat slices she got in her bowl.

'Oh, that's aggressor meat.' Tomo choked at that. In this world there are two types of monsters. Majin that she lives with now, and literal feral monsters. The latter are hunted for both meat and material for equipment. 'Livestock can't survive here. Let's just say you'd rather not see how they end up in a place full of magicules...but don't worry, monster meat benefits is worth more than typical chicken and pork.' he reassured her.

Her regime for one month, clad in a white training uniform, was a large amount of meals every day, while doing supervised muscular training for arms, the core and her legs as well as flexibility training. As she lives with Rimuru, she helps clean his tiny house that was no bigger than a 1LDK cheap flat in Tokyo. For the time being, she can live with him but as she grows taller and bigger, she'll move out soon. He has the smallest house as he feels it unnecessary to have a big one, as he's a Slime and his human form is perpetually that of a beautiful young boy. So he has no need for a bigger space...but SHE would need it!

'Senpai don't you do this too?' naturally, in the beginning, it's TOUGH, but Tomo had to persevere as she is the weakest in this city even little goblin children are stronger than her!

'No need for me! Slimes don't have bones and muscles!' Rimuru grinned cheekily. 'I'm strong because of my magicules!' he said, making Tomo squawk.

For monsters, their strength is based on how high their magicules are, that muscles are rendered irrelevant, even if they develop physically, accordingly to their strength in magicules and how strong they are depends on their race. So men are very muscularly sculpted to reflect their power in magicules even if they never did a physical workout. Women have hourglass figures, tiny waists and strong arms and sculpted legs despite how 'frail' they look for lacking muscle. She'll develop herself that way too, by using magic with supervision to reach that point without compromising herself health-wise.

'No fair!'

'At any rate, I called a substitute since I got reports that require my attention.' said Rimuru. 'Her name is Foss. A fox lycanthrope. She'll know if you're doing things wrong.' since she was not his subordinate, he contacted her through the keibitai officer Gobuemon and hired her. He'll pay appropriately in points of course! This city does have the Point System!

Once Tomo gained some skill, she would get her Point System card and can get working to eke a living as nothing in this world is ever free.

And so...

'Hiya! I'm Foss!' Foss was a redheaded fox around her age. 'Rimuru-sama called me to supervise your physical training!'

'Thank you for your time...I'm Tomo.' Tomo decided that last names are irrelevant here now.

'I heard about you from the goblins.' said Foss. 'Are you doing OK now?' she asked in concern.

'I'm slowly...getting used to the fact that people are kind to me and I can actually turn to them when I need help.' said Tomo softly. 'Back in my world, to feel so-called strong and superior, they bully others they deem weaker than them, or feel threatened by them such as having it better in looks or grades in school while still being a nice person makes you still a bully target to drag you down and ruin you.'

'That's awful!' Foss did a double-take, appalled. 'That is the way of the weak!'

'That's why in my world, many kids my age or slightly older tend to commit suicide if things get so bad yet unable to get reliable help from adults and set things right, especially from parents. That brings forth hopelessness and despair.' Tomo continued. 'My mother will never help. She's a scatter-brained airhead who just thinks I'm clumsy and trip a lot despite how my bruises and torn school things say otherwise...' she said miserably. 'As for my dad, he works in another country and rarely calls home.' that, and he betrayed her than see her killed by a paranoid main family? 'I guess being a world-traveler who ended up in a kind place is my much-deserved karma after suffering.'

'I heard world travelers gain skills or Unique Skills?' Foss inquired.

'Yeah. It's apparently based on our most innate desires turned into skills by the laws of your world and I got two.' said Tomo as this intrigued Foss. It's rare to get ONE Unique Skill, you're a shoo-in to become an A-Class at a young age and she has TWO?! 'And those things are secret trump cards, I'm forbidden to tell anyone who wasn't under Rimuru-sama's genealogy as I'm a citizen here now under ward status for the time being. It'll be a while before I get a legit job like everyone else.'

'That's basic common sense here because if your enemy knows all about you, its easy to beat you by finding a way around you.' Foss agreed with a cringe. 'So what will you do in your future?'

'Well, I'll become a majin when I'm a bit older...humans turn into majin upon overstepping their magicule limits and luckily not die as humans rarely survive that, so at age fifteen I'm gonna do that. With my Skill I can survive the evolution.' Tomo smiled. 'I'm thirteen right now, two more years to go!'

'Heeee...well, back to training Tomo! You gotta forge your body so you can learn hand-to-hand!'

'Yes!'

And thus, Foss spends a whole morning supervising Tomo, before Tomo learns swordsmanship from Hakurou using bokken.

But how he does it was modified to suit her Unique Skill and the current capabilities of her ill body. She was considered 'ill' due to malnourishment.

'Let's start slow for a bit for your eyes to catch up.' said Hakurou. 'Unlike most of my students, you'll be a fast turnout, like how noodles cook so fast.' he chuckled. 'You'll be graduating early unlike most, but basics is still everything.' he said. 'If you master the basics, your foundation in advanced techniques will be strong and just-as-polished.'

'Yes, master!' Tomo did a 90-degree bow. 'Please teach me!'

Hakurou, the quarter-human 3/4 oni due to his human grandfather being a samurai in Edo Period, has japanese heritage taught the oni martial weaponry when he was alive. He taught swordsmanship, archery, spearmanship, tessenjutsu and jujutsu as well as architecture and the concept of farming to the oni as well as fashion improvements when before, they dressed like cavemen with a twist: they made animalhide as fabric, and copied what adventurers wear. Oh, and ichiju-sansai too.

It was Rimuru who introduced what ninja is like to the Oni, mostly to Souei who was perfect for the job.

But being a slime who was a japanese otaku, he cannot introduce martial arts even if he wanted to, dammit. He would have to leave that dream to Tomo and pretend she created those martial arts when in reality, those were from playstation games he played as a kid!

Games with realistic martial arts are Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Tekken and in later years, Dead or Alive. He had Great Sage download his memories of the games on him, but the latest realistic version of the games because graphics showed realistic portrayals for her to study, and 'oomph' it a little as fighters move 'exceptionally quick' in this world. Played in slow-mo for her until speed increases for her to comprehend the techniques per character for her to learn and be its future teacher.

For now, while she has knowledge down pat, the problem, is her body!

She must hone it first! But for now, she must rely on a weapon to get by. By learning how to use a sword, she at least has a means to defend herself even with a stick. Upon learning Battojutsu from Hakurou as Iaido wasn't her cup of tea, she has something to go with in memory before she focuses on honing her body for real.

She persevered in honing her legs first as legs have 3x the strength of arms. Followed by a core stronger to support herself, arms last. And she ate and assimilated a lot, and used magic to control how she visualized herself in development, controlling how her muscles should develop in her legs and hips. She would start on kicks, jump kicks, and developing her stamina by running a nasty uphill course. Supervised, of course!

When the snow thawed, that marked the end of the second winter in Tempest. It's now spring that three months passed by. And in these three months, she gained some muscle and improved her health that she felt more energetic...and gained 'some growth' befitting a girl her age at peak health. But that's not enough for her just yet!

'Wow, you do all this every day?' Stella, a humanoid dragonewt asked Tomo who just got back downhill. She and Nemu had heard from Foss about her temporary job that she was off the Keibitai until Tomo has her basics down pat before she learns martial arts next.

That was the official story at least.

'Yup! I gotta develop stamina and strong legs! Rimuru-sama told me that legs are 3x stronger than arms, so it really will hurt a lot if you get kicked by a good kicker!' Tomo gasped out with a grin as she was sweating heavily. 'I'm a beginner fighter so I gotta do what advantages I can have. He also has that Myuran lady teach me magic after she and the others are done training from Hakurou-sama.'

'Heee...so what do you do every day?'

'Well it's a number of leg muscles training regime, run uphill and downhill 10 times with leg weights, rest for one hour after drinking water in the river and do flexibility training...' that, and Ranga delivers her lunch from Shuna.

'Heee, so the focus is on your legs huh?'

'Yup. My arms and fists are no good for now...'

Aside from the girls, Tomo also has a good relationship with Myuran, but she felt something about Myuran, a perpetual sadness about her that all her actions were 'as a means of apology' because something is clearly up. Something incoming and big. That was what her gut was telling her.

She told Rimuru her findings.

'Something dangerous and big is around Myuran, a danger that she is reluctant to bring that all her actions are all towards apology in her own way?' Rimuru frowned at his ward's words in his office.

'Yeah...she was perpetually-sad and gloomy...and looks at Youm-san sadly when she thinks nobody's looking. She was taking Youm's and Grucius' training seriously as well as mine...as if, given what she is made to do at some point, she wants us to survive whatever it'll be while avoiding making a lot of attachments. She's desperate.'

Rimuru looked thoughtful. Tomo's Hyper-Intuition and Danger Sense are off-charts out of her wishes. Thus its reliable.

"So Myuran...is a Trojan Horse. Reluctantly." he thought. 'We'll keep an eye on Myuran.' he promised her. 'How do you see her so I'd know if I'll help her or not?' he asked Tomo.

'...she likes everyone...she was really happy here and made friends albeit reluctantly on her part because everyone is so friendly...but she's in a hard place because of someone behind her. She is unable to disobey so she's conflicted.' said Tomo. Rimuru noted the word she used. Unable, not cannot. They're still different in meaning. 'She probably reports all she discovers about Tempest to this person...and given how human countries wants Otherworlders, a report about me too.' she gulped out.

'Mm. Got it. I'll think of a way regarding her. For now, act normally, alright?' Rimuru told her kindly as she took it as a cue to dismiss herself. He then sighed. 'Heard that, Souei?' Souei came out of his shadow. Souei always has a clone near him in his Shadow thus he is bodyguarded no matter where. He was an effective multi-tasker as a result.

'Yes.' said Souei.

'Tomo's abilities as a result of her history is formidable and reliable.' Rimuru sighed before looking grimly serious. 'We better shape up. Benimaru's in charge of the military so tell him this: secretly have everyone train hard out of Myuran's sight and hearing. The ones in the know about Myuran will be all leaders of their departments who can be trusted with this information. Everyone else is to be guided along but not told why since er...most of our people can't keep a secret.' he sighed. 'Every Inform the dwarves to upgrade everyone's equipment as a precaution. I'll plan protective magic with Shuna. After you inform Benimaru, send spies on every human country so we'd know who'll attack us.'

'Yes, Rimuru-sama.' and Souei was gone back in his shadow.

'Sigh...I was hoping for years of peace so we can all grow safely, but not every plan goes accordingly, does it?' he mused with a frown as they have no idea WHEN Myuran's master will act.

So he called Tomo again...for a task. And her instincts led her to...a dangerous place.

'This place is ridiculously-thick with magicules...are you even OK here?!' Rimuru asked Tomo in concern as she led him east. 'This place is not safe for you at all!' even if Tomo has two Unique Skills, she is still human! She must raise her strength to withstand this atmosphere!

'I'm alright...because I have a barrier diverting all that away from me.' said Tomo. 'Here, using your nature as a Slime, absorb away as quickly as possible to raise your levels. Eat everything here if you have to as long as your magicule pool goes up and sky's the limit which means, there's no limits.'

'A-alright, now go home!' Rimuru sputtered worriedly. Tomo looked sheepish before going home and disappeared. '...what a thick atmoshere...no doubt aggressors here are also just as strong.' he frowned as he began absorbing a lot.

He read some manhuas about cultivation in the past and now he's doing just that. Because there's danger coming, he needed all help he can get.
