Chapter Two - The Snake Apprentice
Naruto woke up the next morning being fully charged and ready to begin his training under his sensei and crush, Anko Miterashi. As he quickly gets dressed, Naruto notices his goggles that he famously wore, and decides to leave them behind. Not long after arriving at the training field that he and Anko trained at the previous day, Anko arrived. "Good morning Anko Sensei." Naruto greeted her with his wide foxy grin and his optimistic attitude. In most cases, Anko got annoyed whenever someone showed too much happiness early in the morning, but with Naruto, she enjoyed it. "Alright Naruto, we're going to resume where we left off yesterday. I want you to complete the same routine that I gave you. Remember, the goal is to complete it in under an hour. I don't expect you to reach the goal anytime soon. However, the harder you push yourself, the quicker you can learn new things." Anko ordered and Naruto saluted and began his exercises. Standing hidden in the trees, Kakashi was watching Anko begin her first day as Naruto's sensei. "I wonder how those two will work out. They're nearly the same person." Kakashi thought to himself as he pulled out his famous Make-Out-Paradise book, he was known for reading. Three hours had passed and Naruto had finished his exercise being almost completely exhausted. "Not bad, you were thirty minutes faster than you were yesterday. Now, I may not look it, but I'm actually really smart." Anko stated. Naruto sat up and informed her that he knew she was a smart girl. "I'm not a girl, I'm a woman, remember that. Now come on, we're going to the library to work on your studies.
Anbu Library
Anko and Naruto arrived at the library and when Naruto took his seat, he asked what she was going to teach him. Anko smirked and said that she is going to help him understand the controlling of chakra. Naruto's face remained blank and he asked if it was necessary. "Yes, instead of teaching you the basic education of the academy, I'm going to spend this time focusing on your knowledge of chakra and how to control it. I'm not going to give you a packet to work on, I'm going to have you read this book. Once you're finished, we will review it together to make sure you have an understanding of it. Homework will be an essay that is three pages long about the topic you learned for the day. I understand it's early, but you will eat breakfast at nine, every morning." Anko explained and Naruto nodded and he picked up the book. Anko walked away and ventured through the library and found a book called, "Being a sensei for beginners." She smirks and decides that it wouldn't be a bad idea to get another perspective from someone other than her old sensei. As she thought about it, anger took over her face and as she was about to rip the book apart, she found her sleeve being tugged on by a confused Naruto. She turned around and instantly her anger faded away and she asked what was wrong. "Anko sensei, I'm having a hard time pronouncing some of these words. Do you think you could help me read it?" Naruto asked with an honest and innocent expression. Anko looked into his beautiful blue eyes and saw the innocence in them. She chuckled lightly and ruffled Naruto's hair and told him that she would be more than happy to help. She put the book back on the shelf and followed Naruto to the desk he was sitting at. Meanwhile, Kakashi revealed himself behind a bookshelf and noticed the book Anko had grabbed but not put back properly. "Being a sensei for beginners? Hmph, well, at least she isn't taking the Orochimaru path with training the boy. Maybe she will make a good sensi after all." Kakashi thought to himself as he walked back towards the bookshelf and entered the shadows. Two hours had passed and after Anko and Naruto read through the book, Naruto had a better understanding of Chakra control. "Come on, let's go to town and get some breakfast. Is there anything in particular that you would like?" Anko asked. Naruto said that it didn't matter what he ate. "Um Anko sensei?" Naruto asked while looking down. She turned around and he stated that he didn't have any money to buy food. "That's why I didn't eat yesterday. I know you guys have done a lot for me, so I didn't want to impose." Naruto admitted. Anko smiled and told him not to worry about it. "I'm getting paid an S rank, weekly salary for training him. I'll use the money for both of us." Anko thought as she smiled at Naruto.
Downtown Konoha
Naruto held tightly onto Anko's hand due to being nervous about being in the village. Having been beaten to death on many occasions had frightened him. Anko dropped to one of her knees and said that as long as he's with her, nobody will mess with him. After saying that, Naruto's face resumed its normal optimistic look and the two of them resumed walking. Though Anko made him feel better, it wasn't enough to make Naruto ignore the hateful glares that were being given to him by the other civilians walking. When one of them tried to grab Naruto, Anko turned around with a kunai to their neck and declared that if anyone touched him, she would slaughter them and have them for a delicious meal. The guy quickly ran off and Naruto commented on how he wants to be a badass like his sensei. This made Anko smile and she informed him that after a few years of training, he'll become just like her. The thought slightly faded away as she considered her personality for a moment. After shrugging it away, Anko noticed a beautiful, crimson-eyed woman that was standing with a smile. "Hello Anko, Oh? I see you have a friend. Did the hokage stick you with a babysitting, D rank mission again?" Kurenai asked jokingly. Anko chuckled and said that Naruto was her student and that she is treating him to breakfast. Kurenai looked slightly nervous but then gave a smile and invited them to have breakfast with her. Anko agreed and told Naruto that Kurenai isn't like the villagers and that she is a new chunin. Naruto bowed and greeted her as Miss Kurenai. "Well he certainly has manners." Kurenai said as they entered the restaurant. The three of them entered the restaurant when they were met by a man that shouted, "Get the snake whore out of here!" This made Naruto look up with a questioning look on his face. Anko gave a fake smile and told him not to worry. They found a small section that allowed the three of them to sit comfortably with Kurenai sitting across from Anko with Naruto on the inside of the booth. Anko handed Naruto a menu and told him that he could order anything he wanted. This excited Naruto and as he looked through the menu, Naruto asked what dango was. This put a smile on Anko's face while Kurenai facepalmed herself. "Naruto was it? So how long have you been Anko's student?" Kurenai asked to break the shyness that she noticed from the blond. Naruto held up two fingers and stated that it was his second day. Kurenai nodded and told him that Anko was an excellent ninja and that she would help him become strong and powerful. Anko's face went red as her best friend complimented her indirectly. After eating, both Naruto and Anko departed from Kurenai and went to a different training.
Training Field 44 - The Forest of Death
The two arrived at a training field that had gates all around a forest. "What is that?" Naruto asked with confusion and wonder. Anko smirked and told him that the forest is known as the Forest of Death and that once he gets stronger, he'll get to go inside. This excited Naruto and told Anko that he was ready to begin. Crossing her arms with a smirk, she decides to have Naruto produce a single clone. Naruto made an attempt and just like before, a useless clone was summoned. "Okay, normally most people have the problem of not having enough chakra. For you, it's reversed. You have too much chakra and so I'm going to help you control how much you use." Anko said to the excited Naruto. Anko then grabbed a leaf off the ground and placed it into Naruto's palm. He looked at her with confusion and asked what he needed to do. "It's simple, I want you to make the leaf float in your hand. Once you figure out how to do it, we will move on to the next thing. This is an exercise that you can do almost anywhere" Anko stated. Naruto nodded his head and decided to focus his chakra in his hand to make it float. Immediately, the leaf blew away. Naruto looked at her with a confused expression on his face. Anko chuckled and informed him that if he uses too much chakra, then the leaf will blow away. Naruto nodded and began to take a deep breath to help concentrate. Anko decided to walk off and sit down by the main entrance to the Forest of Death. "I refuse to be like you. I'm not going to turn him into a monster. However, once he learns how to control his chakra, I'll be able to help him control the demon fox's chakra." Anko thought as she watched Naruto continue to make the leaf float without flying away. Appearing next to her, Kakashi sat down with his pornagraphy in his hand. "How is the training going?" Kakashi smoothly asked without removing his eyes from his book. Anko smirked and told him that she has high confidence that Naruto will surpass both Shisui and Itachi. This made Kakashi raise the eyebrow from his visible eye. "You think he'll reach their level? They graduated at the age of seven from the academy." Kakashi stated. Anko smirked and said that she would rather have Naruto graduate at the standard age if it means he'll receive top of the line training. "Is that the reason? Or is it more personal?" Kakashi asked with curiosity. Anko glared at him and demanded to know what he meant. Kakashi gave a slight chuckle and said, "Is this because you want him to become a strong ninja, or are you shaping him into a weapon for you to eliminate Orochimaru?" Kakashi asked, noticing anger crossing Anko's face. "Don't you dare say that! Naruto isn't a tool or a weapon! Not for me, not for the Anbu, and most definitely not for the Leaf! He is someone that I care about and I'm going to help him become as strong as he wants!" Anko shouted at Kakashi but was cut off to hear Naruto's cheers of excitement. The blond haired boy ran over to them and showed her that he was able to make it float. This excitement overtook Naruto because he hadn't noticed Kakashi disappearing. While she gave Naruto a smile, her mind was in a trance and thought about what Kakashi told her. After a few moments of her day dreaming, she quickly snapped back into reality and told Naruto that she wanted him to use his other hand. "Why?" Naruto asked with slight annoyance in his voice. Immediately, Anko smacked him across his face and declared that as her official student, she won't be questioned. Naruto quickly ran off to resume his training. Anko glared at him and slightly felt bad for taking her frustration out on her student.
Anbu Common Area
Back at the Anbu headquarters, Kakashi greeted Yamato who was going through a few documents. "I believe Anko is on the right track with Naruto. After doing a slight interrogation with her, I confidently believe that she is training the boy with the right intentions." Kakashi explained. Yamato nodded his head and informed Kakashi that he's been given a mission and to report to the Hokage's office. Kakashi nodded and vanished. While sitting there, Yamato began daydreaming. "Anko, please show Naruto the way." he said to himself before resuming his paperwork.
Training Field 44 - The Forest of Death
Naruto was still trying to make the leaf float in his left hand. He would often perform the exercise with his right hand to confirm that his dominant hand was able to perform it. Anko continued glaring at her student who wasn't as talkative since she slapped him. Crossing her arms, Anko's face grew an annoyed expression. "Naruto!" Anko shouted, which caught her students' attention. Naruto slowly walked towards her, being cautious of not wanting to upset her. "We're going to work on your shuriken and kunai training. What shocked Anko wasn't his simple nod that was different from his usual expression, but when she pulled her kunai out, it forced Naruto to flinch and take a defensive stance. "What's going on? Why is he being different?" Anko asked herself while glaring at Naruto. She told him to follow her and after they stood in front of the dummy that was planted for training, Anko threw three junai that hit the head perfectly. "I want you to use this kunai and throw it at the center of the dummy. This kunai isn't traditional because it's infused with chakra so it has a little more weight. However, it will return to you without having to waste the time to grab it." Anko explained as she handed Naruto the chakra enhanced kunai. Looking at the training dummy, Naruto threw the kunai only to hit the bottom half of the abdomen. Naruto let out a small moan but was soon shocked to see the kunai return to his hand. He continued throwing the kunai as Anko sat back in her spot as she watched Naruto. He continued throwing the kunai for the next few hours until Anko walked up to him. "Not bad, your aim is slightly off, but you have the right form. Come on, let's go get some lunch." Anko said with a smile that was quickly removed by Naruto's silence. Naruto resumed his kunai throwing without saying another word. When Anko tried to touch his shoulder, he quickly turned around and grabbed her wrist. Unlike the beautiful blue eyes of optimism, his eyes were replaced with crimson eyes that had slits and a murderous look. Naruto refused to let go of his tight grip around Anko and when she asked him if he was okay, Naruto's face resumed normal and he took off in a run. Anko tried calling for Naruto to come back but her words were ignored. To her surprise, Itachi appeared. He asked where Naruto was going and if he was okay. Anko explained the situation and included her moment of anger where she took it out on Naruto. "Anko, you can relate to Naruto better than any of us. You're the only person Naruto truly trusts. I suppose in your wave of anger when you slapped him, it gave Naruto the idea that you didn't really care for him. I would go talk to him." Itachi said before walking away and vanishing. Anko's face went cold as she rubbed her hand and thought about Naruto's feelings.
On Top of the Hokage Monument
Naruto sat on top of the Hokage faces as he glared out at the village. "Why does everyone do this to me? What am I? Am I really a monster?" Naruto asked out loud only to be answered by Anko who sat down next to him. Naruto glared down and asked why she came to see him. "Look Naruto, I'm sorry, okay? I was upset and I took my anger out on you." Anko said. Naruto looked at her and said that it wasn't right. "I'm not a punching bag to have your anger being released on." Naruto scolded. Anko nodded in understanding his feelings. "Why are you even my sensei? I thought sensei's were supposed to care about their students. I thought friends weren't supposed to be hateful to each other." Naruto shouted until he was cut off by a tight hug from Anko. She then began to whisper in Naruto's ear, "You're right. Friends aren't supposed to be like that to each other. You're my student and my friend, I'm very sorry for hitting you." Anko said and Naruto gave a look of embarrassment for yelling at Anko. She then told Naruto to follow her. Looking confused, he decided to go along and held her hand.
Anko's Room
Anko and Naruto entered her bedroom that was just as dual as Narutos. Looking around, Naruto asked why they were there. Anko removed her tan-yellow jacket and showed Naruto a mark on her shoulder. The three black marks with a slight tail sticking out of the circles resided on her neck by her shoulder. Looking at it with confusion, Naruto asked about the mark. Anko gave a soft smile and said, "This is my curse mark. A long time ago, my old sensei gave it to me. While I was his student, he made me kill my comrades. Not long after, I began performing experiments and hurting others to satisfy his goals. After a while, I became the outcast of the village." Naruto's face had shock on it because he didn't know that anyone considered Anko an outcast. "Is that why while we were in the restaurant, that guy called you a snake whore?" Naruto asked and Anko nodded her head. She put her jacket back and held Naruto's hand. "That's ridiculous! You're such an incredible person. Just because you have a mark on your neck by some lunatic doesn't give people the right to look down on you!" Naruto shouted with slight anger in his voice. From that day forward, both Naruto and Anko found themselves being much closer than before.
6 Months Later
Naruto had been sparring with Anko. While she wasn't going all out against her five year old student, she had used enough skill to keep him on his toes. In the past six months, Naruto had trained in the art of the Shadow Snake Dance and thus he was moving almost as perfect as Anko. The two would clash their kunai with each other as the other tried to cut the other for a point. During the six months, Naruto trained with Shisui who assisted him with his chakra control and introduced him to walking up a tree without the use of hands. At the same time, Naruto became excellent at reading and found a love for reading books. For his birthday, all of the Anbu members and the third Hokage celebrated with him and they brought him presence. Kakashi gave him a special kunai that was larger than normal but had chakra fused with it to give it a lighter weight, but also returned to him if he dropped it. The kunai was used by Naruto when he sparred with Anko or Shisui. Ebiki Morino was the head of the Leaf villages' interrogation squad. He brought Naruto books about the human mind and psychology. Ebiki was like an uncle to Naruto and would often encourage his pranks that heavily annoyed Yamato. Yamato gave Naruto a special scroll that allowed him to seal away any amount of objects regardless of the size or chakra infused. Kakashi tried giving Naruto a make-out-paradise book only to be knocked out by Anko. Instead, he gave Naruto a book about inventing jutsu. Itachi and Shisui gave Naruto both a book about sword battle and his own Anbu Black Ops sword. Naruto was beyond happy and nearly cried after receiving his gift. Kurenai also appeared and gave Naruto Chakra weights that increased by the amount of Chakra being fused into them. Finally, the Third Hokage gave Naruto a journal that was originally his fathers. He stated that while the jutsu are extremely advanced, he'll understand the philosophies and ideals that his father had. Overall, this had been the best birthday Naruto had.
Inside the Forest of Death
Naruto, Shisui, Anko, and Itachi were standing in front of a large tree that had insects of different species and sizes. The insects' size went from twice the size of Naruto to that of a human hand. Anko ordered Naruto to climb the top of the tree while dodging fireballs from Itachi. Naruto swallowed hard because he knew how intense Itachi's fireballs were. Shisui informed him that he'll be throwing kunai with the fireballs and that he needs to pay extra attention. Anko told Naruto that if he didn't climb up the tree, she was going to have her pet snake eat all of his dango next time they went out. The three Anbu shinobi were amazed at how the simplest threat motivated Naruto as if he could rule the world. After taking a moment to gather chakra, Naruto jolted up the tree with fierce strength and speed. As he ran, Naruto couldn't explain how, but he felt the chakra of Itachi preparing a fireball jutsu and thus he was able to dodge it, along with the kunai that followed behind it. "Come on guys! I thought you were the Leaf's top Anbu!" Naruto shouted with his foxy grin. A vein could be seen on the top of Anko's forehead. She immediately summoned a snake and ordered it to attack Naruto but not kill him. The snake nodded and jolted after Naruto whose speed was impressive by genin standards. As he continued running at max speed, Naruto felt the presence of Anko's snake along with a large centipede that felt his presence. Unsure of what to do, Naruto quickly put his hands together and multiple clones of Naruto appeared. Little did he know, the Anbu were unaware of Naruto using his jutsu. When the centipede wrapped around Naruto, everyone shouted in fear only to hear Naruto from the top of the tree laughing that they thought he'd be taken out by a basic insect. Itachi let out a sigh of relief while Shisui shouted that it wasn't cool to have people worry. Anko glared up at him and gave him her signature smile for being impressed.
Dango Shop
Naruto was chowing down on the dango along with Anko while Shisui and Itachi glared with fear. "Should we remind them to breathe?" Shisui asked. "Unless you want to lose your hand, I think it would be wise for us to remain silent." Itachi responded. Ever since Anko introduced Dango to Naruto, the two of them couldn't stay away. When they weren't training, studying, or sleeping, they were chowing down on dango. After eating, the waitress walked up to the table and asked if they would like anything else. Hearing this, Itachi put his face in hand and told Shisui that it's about to happen. Both Naruto and Anko smiled at each other, with Anko having gained a foxy-like grin that everyone knew she had gotten from Naruto. They both shouted that they wanted banana pudding ice cream immediately and the waitress walked away with a bright smile. "Anko, you do understand that while you may be able to eat what you want, Naruto is still a child with a body that needs to grow." Itachi asked about feeling sick by seeing the size of the ice cream plate that was being brought to them. "Trust me, this boy's stamina during training will burn whatever he puts in his body." Anko said while chowing down the ice cream alongside Naruto. The two of them finished and informed Shisui and Itachi that they're going to go work on Naruto's genjutsu and they were excited. Little did both Itachi and Shisui know, they were going to their training field to take a nap under the tall tree. Itachi gave a soft smile at the empty spots that both Anko and Naruto left. "You okay Itachi?" Shisui asked while looking at the bill and was surprised that with everything they ordered, it wasn't that much. Itachi ignored Shisui's question as he was lost in his thoughts. "Anko, you were branded as an outcast by a sensei that used you. Naruto, you were branded as a demon because of what the fourth hokage did. Yet, the two of you act like nothing in the world matters." Itachi thought while ignoring Shisui who was waving his hand in front of Itachi's smiling face.
Hokage's Office
Hiruzen Sarutobi was at his desk going through some paper where he found a letter that was addressed from Kakashi Hatake. Curiosity getting the best of him, Hiruzen opened the door only to find a picture of a girl's face being replaced by the third hokage, and the man behind the girl with Kakashi's face. The photo represented Kakashi performing a sexual act on the third hokage. Though he was annoyed, Hiruzen couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that it was probably Anko and Naruto who pulled the prank on him. "I'm getting too old. Those two are going to be the death of me." Hiruzen said.
Training Field 44 - The Forest of Death
Both Naruto and Anko were sparring with each other. Unlike before, Naruto spent his time evading and dodging Anko's attacks. She would often use her Striking Shadow Snake jutsu that shot snakes from her arms. However, with Naruto's quick reflexes, he used his Kunai that was given by Kakashi to cut the heads off of the serpents. After night time fell, both Naruto and Anko lay on the ground making a straight line with their heads against each other. "Man Anko sensei, that was intense! I didn't think you had that much stamina or chakra." Naruto said, complimenting her battle abilities. Anko smirked and said that she had no choice due to needing to be able to keep up with her student. The two stood up and prepared to head home only to find Naruto passed out from exhaustion. Anko managed to catch him before he hit the ground and the two of them returned home from training where the other Anbu members greeted them and laughed at the passed out Naruto.
Two Years Later
To say Naruto became stronger in two years would be an understatement. Having spent his days training with Anko along with the other members of the Anbu Black Ops, it was as if Naruto was a miniature Itachi and Shisui Uchiha. Though he wasn't at their level, Naruto became stronger and was smarter than they were at his age. Naruto became so skilled to the point that he was given the invisibility jutsu to sit in with the other Anbu members during the Hokage's meetings. However, tension was high within the village between the Leaf and the Uchiha clan. Both Hiruzen and Danzo were speaking with both Itachi and Shisui Uchiha. They're discussing the fact that the Uchiha's are planning a coup to fight the leaf and cause civil war within the village. This made Naruto extremely uncomfortable due to being like a younger brother to both Shisui and Itachi, along with a nephew to both Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha. Shisui offered to use his genjutsu on his family to either prevent or at least delay the coup. Danzo spoke up and believed that it would be a waste and that they needed to take action against the Uchiha. Unlike Naruto, both Itachi and Shisui agreed that it would be for the best. When the meeting ended, Naruto found both Itachi and Shisui on top of the Hokage's monument where Naruto found them. "What's going on? Why does Danzo want to attack the Uchiha?" Naruto asked. Itachi and Shisui gave Naruto a soft smile due to his kind heart and wanting to assist in the matter. Shisui stated that everything is going to be okay and for him to return home. Itachi informed Shisui that he'll take Naruto home. The three said bye to each other while Shisui remained at the monument while Danzo appeared. "Shisui Uchiha, I'm glad to have caught you." Danzo sinisterly stated. Shisui was never one to trust Danzo and took his defensive stance as the old man approached him. "What do you want?" Shisui asked harshly. Danzo explained that no matter how much genjutsu he uses, the Uchiha will be a threat to the village. Without hesitation, Danzo rushed at Shisui with the plan to remove his sharingan eye. However, he wasn't called Shisui of the Body Flicker for nothing. He immediately vanished into a field only to find Danzo waiting for him there. The two entered battle while Danzo drew an Anbu sword that he kept against Shisui's sword that he received when he got promoted to Anbu. As both of their blades clashed, Shisui managed to create a crow and change positions without giving away that Danzo was fighting a clone. Though Shisui was powerful, he wasn't invincible. Danzo managed to stab him in the side causing bleeding which meant that he didn't have long left. When Danzo delivered the final blow, he noticed that the Shisui he was fighting was just a clone. He decided it would be best to return home and let things play out.
The Naka River
Both Naruto and Itachi stopped at the Naka river. Itachi knew his unofficial younger brother was uncomfortable with everything that was going on. "For someone who isn't a clan member, you sure care a lot for the Uchiha." Itachi said with a warm smile. Naruto glared at him and stated they needed to go see the Hokage about another option. "What about Sasuke!? Are you really going to allow him to be killed over a disagreement between the family and village!? He is the same age as me!?" Naruto shouted. Itachi continued his warm smile and informed Naruto that he is grateful for having a friend that cares like he does. To their surprise, Shisui appeared before them and was bleeding out. Itachi and Naruto were concerned and they ran over to the injured Uchiha. "Hey guys. Well, Danzo attacked me. I don't have much time, so please listen to me without interrupting me. Danzo is going to have the other clans team up against the Uchiha, this is going to cause a civil war. Innocent people of Konoha and the Uchiha are going to die. No matter what, we cannot let that happen. Itachi, as my best friend, I need you to eliminate the Uchiha. This is the only way to stop Danzo's assault. I know this is a large burden on you, I understand if you cannot go through with it. But you need to eliminate them to stop a civil war which will lead to the next Great Ninja War." Itachi and Naruto froze at the words Shisui said. Itachi nodded his head as he understood what must be done. Naruto clenched his teeth, grabbed Shisui by his collar and demanded to know why he was speaking crazy. "Naruto, you're like my younger brother. You shouldn't have to be involved with this and for involving, both Itachi and I apologize. You're going to become a powerful ninja and I hope someday, you become the Hokage and make change to this village. As my parting gift to you, I'm giving you my sharingan." Shisui said as he pulled both his eyes out. This frightened Naruto and he was unable to speak. "Naruto, please look after Sasuke. Once the mission is complete, Itachi will be considered a traitor. There won't be anyone here other than the Hokage to watch over him." Shisui said. Shisui then told Itachi to put the eyes inside of Naruto before he dies. Though Itachi wasn't a medical ninja, he was able to transfer the eyes and unlike most people, the demon fox's chakra began to immediately heal and allow for Naruto to have immediate vision. "Naruto, Itachi, I need you both to do one last thing. Please kill me before I bleed out, this will give you guys power beyond anything." Shisui said. Both Naruto and Itachi drew their swords as tears poured out their eyes. In that moment they killed Shisui and immediately both Itachi and Naruto's newly acquired Sharingan eyes changed into a pattern. Naruto's changed into what was similar to a shuriken and Itachi's into a demon wind shuriken with only three blades instead of two. Naruto looked at Itachi and asked what happened. "Naruto, you're now a holder of the Mongekyo Sharingan and thus you must carry out Shisui's will. I'll follow his dying wish to save the village but I need you to keep an eye on Sasuke. As for your eyes, since you aren't an Uchiha, your sharingan will remain activated. I want you to inform Kakashi and anyone else that I planted you in genjutsu and put Shisui's eyes inside of you after I killed him." Itachi stated. Immediately Itachi vanished leaving a startled Naruto inside of a genjutsu that knocked him out.
Anbu Hospital
Naruto woke up inside the Anbu hospital. As he tried opening his eyes, he was in such agonizing pain. Kakashi, Anko, and Yamato stood in front of him. Kakashi asked how he was feeling and Naruto admitted to having felt better. "Naruto, I need you to tell us, why do you have the Sharingan?" Kakashi immediately asked in a colder tone. Naruto looked at him, then Yamatao, and then a clearly concerned Anko. As Naruto tried to remember, he remembered seeing Itachi kill Shisui and planting the eyes inside of him. "Wait a minute, no! We killed Shisui to save the village! But Itachi told me to play it off!" Naruto thought as he was nervous. Naruto began to stutter as he spoke up and explained the version of the story that Itachi told him to tell. Kakashi sighed at the truth behind the Uchiha Massacre being true about Itachi doing it. Anko placed her hand on Naruto as tears dripped. "Naruto, I couldn't imagine losing you. You're my best friend, my student, I should have been there to protect you." Anko cried. Naruto grabbed her hand and told her that he needed to speak with her. This surprised her and she agreed.
Training Field 44 - The Forest of Death
Anko stood with her arms crossed and was confused at the reason Naruto dragged her out to their training spot. Naruto then opened his eyes and activated the Mongekyo Sharingan. Anko begins to warp into a world with a red sky. "Where am I?" Anko asked as she looked at Naruto. Immediately, Shisui appeared. "Shisui? What are you doing here? I thought you were dead." Anko shouted. "Lookv Anko, I don't have long. I left Naruto with instructions to not activate the Mongekyo Sharingan until I was able to give you this message. Naruto's sharingan was given to him by me. Danzo attacked me last night. He tried to take my eyes but stabbed my side instead. I managed to reach both Naruto and Itachi. I explained to them that Danzo was going to have the clans attack the Uchiha which would have led to a civil war and then possibly the next shinobi war. I gave Itachi the burden of eliminating our entire family except for Sasuke to prevent any kind of civil war. By doing this, he took the burden of being a traitor to Konoha. Anko, I wish that you don't hold anything against Itachi and I'd like for you and Naruto to be the ones to communicate with him from time to time when he secretly appears. Also, It is now more important than ever for Naruto to enroll at the academy in Sasuke's graduating year. The two don't get along well, but Naruto can keep a better eye on Itachi. Thank you Anko, I'm sorry for everything and dragging you guys into this. I trust Naruto with my Sharingan to someday become the Hokage and make the world a better place." Shisui said and then immediately both Anko and Naruto returned back to reality while Naruto's eyes were bleeding. Anko glared at her student and gave him a tight hug as tears continued running down his face. The two of them returned to the Anbu base where Naruto was determined along with Anko to take his training to the next level.
