Author's Note: Hello everyone, I am back with another chapter. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it. I thank all who have favorite the story, who are following the story, and those who have taken time out of their busy lives to review; it all helps.
This chapter is about Donna Troy. Without further ado, let us begin.
Chapter Five- Reflection
She was standing inside his home, the home of the murderer that robbed her of the man she loved. She was standing down that murderer's wife and his son who were lying on the hardwood floor. She saw the mother standing defiantly in front of her son, even though there was blood running down her mouth and her legs were shaking. She could see that murderer's son shaking and begging the intruder to leave.
However, the raven haired woman stood tall over them, holding her lasso and her fists. She was going to inflict the same pain on them that was inflicted upon her heart. Her hands were shaking, and she could feel her eyes water, however, her mind was made up. She wanted vengeance and payback and blood. She knew there was no turning back for her and she could never be forgiven for such a thing, but her mind was made up.
However, before she could get revenge, she fell unconscious. She fell to the floor as her eyes could barely stay open. She could barely see the person that had knocked her out, as he looked at the mother and son in front of her.
"I am sorry for what has happened, tonight. Please forget this night and everything associated with it. This woman was dealt a great loss by your husband. I am sure you will have your opinion on that when he comes home or something. The loss of a loved one and the desire for revenge can consume people. I am glad that I got here when I did."
The raven-haired woman fell asleep as she was slung over the man's shoulders like a sack of potatoes as the two of them disappeared in a puff of smoke, as the mother and son had no idea what to think about today's events. However, the mother would have choice words with her husband. She had no idea that Deathstroke's actions would eventually reach her home.

The raven-haired woman named Donna Troy woke up somewhere in a home that she could not recognize. She slowly looked around to see she was indeed in someone's home as she noticed that she was not restrained or handcuffed in anyway. She could smell food being cooked, and she had to admit the smell was amazing.
However, her rage came back as she saw the man that restrained her bring in a bowl of food that he placed in front of her. She saw the man and took a better look at him. He was blonde haired and had piercing blue eyes that could stare straight into your soul. He could see that the man was muscled and held a special air of confidence about him and the way he smiled at her.
However, her rage overtook logic as she smacked the bowl of soup away from her, and looked at him with hate while the blonde-haired wonder simply shook his head at seeing his hard work go down the drain.
"Lady, do you know hard it is to make a good bowl of ramen? It takes time and patience and effort."
Donna did not care about that. She had anger and hate in her heart for this man who had denied her a chance at payback.
"I don't give a fuck. What gave you the right to stop me? Do you have any idea what you took from me?"
"I think I have a good idea. Someone hurt you, and you could not hurt them, so you chose the coward move, and went after the person's loved ones? Have I hit the jackpot?"
Donna winced, but was undeterred. "They are not innocent people! And neither is Slade Wilson! He took away the man I loved… he does not get to be happy."
The blonde-haired man had a sad expression on his face. He understood vengeance and the need for it, he had been there before. However, he understood that forgiveness could sometimes be much greater than revenge itself. He had to try to get through to this woman, before she lost her soul to the darkness.
"I can truly understand what you are going through. The loss of a loved one is something very deep and scarring on the heart. I can tell the person you lost meant a great deal to you. However, you must drop this foolish path. Revenge leaves a hole in your heart, once that you can never fill. Look at what you were going to do. You were going to murder a mother and her child, all so you could get payback. Is this the work of a hero, Wonder Girl?"
Donna did not care how this man knew her secret identity. She was tired and angry at his preaching.
"Oh… I see. I should give up. Right, no… you are right. After all, what can someone like you know about what it means to have loss someone special? Maybe, if I murdered your family in front of you, you would be singing a different tune. Maybe then, you would understand how I feel!"
The blonde did not offer a nasty retort or give another speech, her instead flashed her a megawatt smile, which unnerved Donna.
"You are too late on that front. My family was killed in front of me, by a psychopath of all people. It happened when I was a baby."
Donna closed her eyes as she placed her head in her hands and then looked at him.
"Look, I am sorry… I was upset and angry…"
The blonde raised a hand to stop her.
"I can tell your loss is deep and profound. The person you cared for died in your arms, and you never got the chance to tell him how you truly felt about him. It is why you wanted revenge. You blame yourself and hold regret for the fact that you could did not confess your feelings for that man in time, and you feel responsible for death."
"However, what you were going to do was far worse. You lost to the man you wanted to kill and then went after his family to inflict upon him a greater pain. If you truly succeeded in what you wanted to do, you would never be able to live with yourself. You would never be able to eat, you would feel everlasting regret, and you would never be able to sleep. Your soul would be scarred for life."
"I stopped you only because I never wanted you to be consumed by everlasting grief. You cannot understand that, but I can. You are supposed to be a hero, Donna Troy, a better example for people. If you gave into your vengeance, you would be exactly like the man you wanted to kill. The power you have should not be misused for mere vengeance. The man you love would not want you to lose your soul for this."
Donna just shed tears. She had no idea what to do and what she wanted now out of life. She had no idea if she was truly a hero or something else.
"What…, what do I do?"
"Let out your grief. Cry, sob, rage; let it all out. There is no shame in crying, it means we are human. It means we are mighty. Please let it all out."
The blonde quietly made his way to leave the room, as he could hear Donna sob in agony. It was deep and painful as the blonde closed his eyes and shook his head. Truthfully, he had heard of this Deathstroke, a contract killer for hire and possibly the best there was. It would be a fool's errand to chase after that man in an emotional state.
He never wanted to get involved in this situation. Yet, something compelled him to do so, he just did not know what it was. He had closed himself off from the world and was dealing with his own life at its own pace. Perhaps, he wanted to save another soul from falling down a foolish path.
"Tomorrow, I will pick up the pieces."

Donna Troy woke up the next day, all cried out. A bowl of Ramen had been waiting for her and a note from that mysterious individual who had disappeared into the wind. His sincere wish for her was to find peace and happiness one day, and to never close her heart to love.
She was told by the caretaker of that home that the man disappeared. She searched high and low but could not find him at all. Realizing that she needed to heal to overcome her loss, she had taken up Diana's offer to visit Themiscyra and to learn from her and the finest warriors. She initially did not want to, but the change of scenery was what she needed to heal.
Themiscyra was indeed a beautiful place and she did learn much. It was a place of wonders and so much more. It was hard for her to say goodbye, but she promised she would return one day.
She no longer had any designs to be Wonder Girl. She could help the world as Donna Troy as well. The night would give her the cover to protect people from the shadows, while in the light she would work to make a difference in her own way.
She had chosen to be a private investigator, to help lost souls be reunited with their loved ones. She too was an orphan, having lost both her mother and father. The smiles she saw when people were reunited with their loved ones was totally worth it, and it made her feel better about herself.
She wanted to also find the man that had saved her from doing something unforgivable. She searched high and low for him, but she could not find him. She wanted to thank that good soul. He did not know it, but she had grown to develop feelings for him. She asked Diana for help to figure out who this man was and Diana shared certain things about him to her. It made her realize that the blonde was truly a good man.
She hoped she could find him soon. She wanted to confess the feelings she felt for him. Realizing it would take time to find a man this elusive and mighty, she decided to pay a visit to National City's Memorial Site and pay her respects.
She had arrived to the city by train and took in the quiet. National City was still recovering from General Zod's invasion and people were doing their best to move on and be happy. That would take time in itself.
She stepped off the train at her destination and decided to look for a hotel. However, she heard the sounds of laughter and people cheering and clapping in glee as the sun was shining particularly bright at the National City Square.
She wanted to see what the fuss was all about and she was suddenly transfixed by what she was seeing. It was a clown. It was a muscular clown with a fox on his shoulder who was entertaining the crowd, performing all kinds of tricks for adults and children alike, all while balancing himself on a ball.
The clown was throwing rocks into the air which turned into doves that flew into the sky. However, it was not his tricks that intrigued her. It was his pure genuine smile that seemed to make him shine brighter as the crowd was eating it all up. She had no idea how someone could smile like that and what made someone smile like that. She noticed the crowd enjoying themselves.
She wondered who this man was and what truly drove him in life to be the way he was. She saw him tenderly hug children and sign autographs. He was making people smile and laugh. Who was this man she wondered.
She approached him as he noticed her presence. He simply gave her a wave as she returned a gentle smile to him. She decided to hang back and see the festivities from a distance. She did not want to scare the blonde off.
After a few hours, the festivities did die down as she saw him make his way to the Memorial Site and place a white rose at the center as he sat there for hours.
Donna Troy realized that Uzumaki Naruto's beautiful smile did hide some sort of pain and sadness. It was no matter. She could prolong her stay in National City. She was not leaving until she thanked him for what he did for her.
She did wonder what he would think of her confession. To her, a man like that deserved a lot in the world, and she would make sure he knew that fact.
Chapter End
Well that is the chapter. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it.
The next chapter will be about Sam Arias. After that chapter, we get to our favorite knucklehead and some much needed action.
I will not be writing much in April as I will be gaming more, but I hope to release a chapter or two.
I fucking hate that my grandmother has Parkinson's. I hate that a once strong, vibrant woman has been reduced to shit by that fucking illness.
Cherish your loved ones and enjoy every day you have with them. Stay safe and much well wishes to you all and your families. See you all in the next chapter.
