Originally written as a submission for Writing Prompt Week #260 on the RWBY subreddit, in response to a prompt of my own suggestion. An extraterrestrial power has been monitoring Remnant for quite some time, and is very alarmed by developments occurring in Vale at the end of the Vytal Festival. Direct intervention is hastily approved, for one cannot defy the Prime Directive...

Lieutenant Jaune Arc's courier craft crashes and is compromised alongside himself, putting the world-spanning operation that has been painstakingly kept under-wraps in jeopardy. But his superiors, sensing an opportunity, thrusts him into a role he is unqualified for – putting the wrong man in the right place and time to unravel a conspiracy that has went on for millennia.

For thousands of years, the Kingdoms of Remnant have fought to survive, believing that if the Grimm overcame them, humanity's light would be snuffed out. Team RWBY will be the first of Remnant to learn that, for better or for worse, the rest of humanity is coming, and they will bring a galaxy of change. Includes Surviving Mars elements.
