The first thing I noticed was the hat, it was wide brimmed and dark and appeared very much like the sort of hat that I had always imagined Van Helsing wearing. He was tall, taller than Gabriel, and scruffy in a way that very much reminded me of my dad. Unlike my dad the man seemed extremely comfortable in a trench coat. I immediately liked him.
