London, 1864. Two men, who once were friends, are led through a series of events they hoped never to live again. SPN Victorian!AU, involving alchemy, Hunters, demons/angels and a quest for immortality (which, as it turns out, is actually a very Not Good Thing). Murders, horror, mystery and things of that ilk. Castiel and Dean are the primary protagonists, many other characters too.

Castiel is on the run, cut off from his friends and uncertain of his allies. As he sits brooding over a cup of coffee, he can't shake his fear: had Meg survived? Was she well? Was he completely sure he wanted to know? Post 8x17 Megstiel, obvs. One shot.

Set between the second trial and the boys finding out what the third trial is, Sam goes missing on another of those "easy" jobs. This is kind of the first part of a pair of stories, but it is complete within itself.
