Gavin had been aimlessly channel hopping on the crystal ball when the front door finally opened. He jumped to his feet to confront his father.

Darius stopped himself and Hunter by the spare bedroom, and he inhaled deeply before looking at his offspring. "Not tonight, Gavin. Hunter has been through a lot, and needs attention. I won't tell you again – go to bed."

With that final order, he opened the bedroom and gently guided the shellshocked Hunter into the room. Giving his biological son a firm stare, he shut the door in the teen's face.
