Chapter 132- Underneath
The past Scoobies came back into the viewing room and this time, Giles sat with the rest, his resolve firm, and with that, Buffy turned the recording on.
Angel was on his conference table, which was empty, so he called up Harmony, and was told Wesley is still babysitting Illyria, while Gunn is the hospital, and Lorne is MIA since Fred, but Spike came in with a briefcase, wondering what the team name was, and asked it to not be 'Scoobies', it could rather be 'Angel's Avengers'.
"'Angel's Avengers', not a bad name", Buffy quipped as the rest chuckled. "Maybe they should call it that."
"Yeah, it'd be cool", Dawn agreed.
Angel eventually got annoyed by Spike, but Spike managed to convince him as Angel remembered. "Handsome man, save me from the monsters." He blamed himself for her death as he'd brought Fred here, and bad things happened here, but Spike pointed out bad things happened everywhere, plus she wanted to be here, it was her choice. Spike then realized Angel wanted to do something stupid, and Angel said he'd done it by coming here. Now he knew the Senior Partners were up to something so they wouldn't operate in the dark anymore. Spike pointed out they needed someone with a line to them.
"I think we know who", Xander smirked.
"It's not your fault, Angel, plus if she'd stayed there, she would have died too", Tara pointed out.
"Angel, he always takes the weight of the world on his shoulders", Buffy said, realizing that's what Angel did now. "Burdens that aren't even his to bear."
"It's this place", Willow sighed. "I don't think Angel's going to play by their rules now."
Angel and Spike then stood in front of Eve and she refused, adding they'd given up who she cared for to the Partners. Angel said they could do the same to her, when the house shook as a rumbling was heard outside the door. Eve thought Angel had told them but he hadn't, so now she begged for help, assuring she'd tell him all she knew. Angel looked at Eve, then looked at the front door as the doorknob rattled. A man wearing a fine, tailored gray pinstriped suit with a white silk tie and a white shirt busted through the door. He looked around the apartment, but Eve and the Vampires were gone. There was an open window creaking at the back of the apartment. The man stared at it, frowning.
"I believe this is the bigger fish we were told of", Giles said in realization, as everyone looked surprised.
"So the Partners sent him", Buffy muttered. "To take out Eve."
"Just when they need her", Xander groaned.
Lorne was in a rebuilt Caritas, now owned by Lorne's friend called Carlos who was singing poorly to Lorne. Lorne assured he'd get married, so Carlos decided Lorne didn't need to pay. Lorne then ranted about Fred's death without naming her, sounding pained, before adding he'd still smile and quip and pretend he could help in the belly of the beast, and paid Carlos before leaving.
"You do help, you're not useless, Lorne", Tara told him. "You've helped the team a lot even before you were an official member."
"He cared about Fred, her painful death and him not being able to do a thing got to him bad", Willow said sadly, hoping he could get through this.
"Just hope they can get through this", Dawn muttered.
Angel, Spike and Eve arrived in Wolfram and Hart as Angel told Harmony to make the security tight. He then asked Spike to stay with Eve and kill anything that came close to her, while he'd see his lawyer. Gunn was still in his hospital room when Angel arrived, asking if they had jurisdiction to protect Eve from the Senior Partners, and seeing Gunn was reluctant, Angel pointed out. "Gunn, you paid a high price for what's in that brain, so use it."
"He's right", Tara agreed. "A high price was paid, now he must use it."
"You are at some fault, but only, about 2% at best, so don't blame yourself", Buffy assured Gunn. "Please."
Gunn looked at Angel, sighed, looking down. "There's a proviso in your contract. Says that as CEO of a Wolfram & Hart branch, you can invoke a rapio salvus order. Basically says you're taking custody of a wayward employee. It's not usually used for protection, but it should work." Angel started. "Great. How do I-" Gunn assured. "I'll make a call." "Good", Angel started to walk out, but stopped at the door. "Listen, Gunn... I know you feel bad about your part in what happened to Fred. And you should. For the rest of your life, it should wake you up in the middle of the night. And it will...because you're a good man. You signed a piece of paper, that's all." Gunn pointed out. "But I knew. Not about Fred, but... when I signed, I knew there would be consequences." Angel told him. "You know, the thing about atonement is, you never run out of chances... but you gotta take 'em. You can't hide in some hospital room and pretend it's all gonna go away... 'cause it never will." Gunn stared thoughtfully.
"Yeah, hiding won't do a thing", Willow agreed, speaking from experience. "Doing something will do a lot."
"He knew there would be consequences, but I guess he was too desperate at the time", Xander said sadly. "Poor guy."
"Now he joins the group of people who have something to atone for", Buffy said. "And he will, he's a good guy."
Wesley stared ahead when he heard Fred's voice behind him. "You have a visitor." Wesley turned slightly. "I thought I was in isolation." Fred kissed his neck from behind him. "Whose fault is that?" She walked around to kneel in front of him. "Tell me a joke." Wesley softly said. "2 men walk into a bar. The first man orders a scotch and soda. The second man remembers something he'd forgotten, and it doubles him over with pain. He falls to the floor shaking... and then through the floor and into the Earth. He looks back up at the first man, but he doesn't call out to him." He looked down at Fred. "They're not that close." Fred noted. "Yeah. You always know where you are." Wesley agreed. "It's my particular skill." Fred crawled into his lap, looking into his eyes. "This is only the first layer. Don't you wanna see how deep I go?"
No one commented, knowing it was a dream, and felt horrible for Wesley. He had lost Fred, and he wasn't coping healthily. But then again, not many amongst them who could.
Wesley gasped as he woke from his dream. He was sitting alone in a chair in the dark. Illyria spoke from somewhere behind him. "You've been sitting for a long time." Wesley replied. "Yeah. Dozed off." "You drank a great deal of that poison", Wesley held his hand to his head, rubbing his eyes, pained. "You called me a lot of names meant to hurt feelings I no longer have, and then you sat there for hours making noise with your nose." Wesley said. "I was dreaming, you twit."
"Twit sounds about right", Buffy snarled.
"Yeah, but insulting something that old and powerful, not a good move", Xander pointed out.
"Not wrong there", Tara agreed. "They have to tread carefully."
Illyria noted. "You said her name. Fred." "It was a nightmare", Wesley swigged from a highball glass. "I don't suppose you have nightmares... or sleep or any of that human crap." Illyria again spoke of her time. "In my time, nightmares walked among us, walked and danced, skewering victims in plain sight, laying their fears and worst desires out for everyone to see. This...to make us laugh." Wesley quipped. "I'll bet you were jolly as frat boys." Illyria commented. "And now nightmares are trapped inside the heads of humans... pitiful echoes of themselves. I wonder whom they angered so to merit such a fate." Wesley was deadpan. "This world must be a terrible disappointment to you." "Grievous." "I'm not too impressed with it myself", Wesley took another swig of whiskey. Illyria asked. "Why don't you leave?"
"Because of you", Willow said. "You are all that's left of Fred, as twisted as it is, so he stays for you."
"Ironic, she killed his lover, and now he has to be there for her", Giles sighed. "This is such a mess."
"Yeah, unique kind of mess", Tara agreed.
"And don't think there's a simple way out", Dawn muttered.
Eve sat with Angel and Spike, and she had to help them, as Angel could withdraw protection with a phone-call. Angel asked what she was, and she finally revealed she was a child of the Senior Partners, created by them. Angel realized she was an immortal and asked why she was here, and she said she worked for the Senior Partners and passed messages to them. But she did not know much about the because the Partners wouldn't let her access that information, it was locked inside her head, but there was one person who could tell them- Lindsey!
"Oh crap! So he's coming back!" Xander said as all groaned.
"Looks like it", Buffy muttered. "Well, this keeps getting better and better."
"Time to bring back the archnemesis to take on even bigger foes", Willow realized.
Angel asked if Lindsey was after the Partners rather than him, but she said it was about both, so the Partners had snatched him so he and Angel wouldn't have a talk. Eve then revealed Lindsey was in a hideous, awful hell.
"Can't say he didn't have that coming", Dawn spoke up.
"Now they have to save him", Tara said.
Lindsey was kissing a blonde woman in a luxurious bed as a boy jumped between them, and they were his wife and kid. He was living a domestic life.
"The hell?" Xander said. "Thar doesn't look like an awful hell."
"Yeah, its domestic bliss", Dawn agreed.
"But it's the Partners", Willow pointed out. "Maybe there's more to it than we realize."
"Yeah, that makes sense", Buffy agreed.
Lindsey walked out of his house to pick the paper, and all houses looked the same, with the men picking their papers at the exact same time, and he also picked a skateboard from the sideway before walking inside. At Wolfram and Hart, Spike was ranting about hells and added Eve just wanted Lindsey again, but Lorne said no one could fake it through the pina colada song once the chorus kicked in, so they agreed to go to whatever Hell Dimension it was. Gunn then arrived, now wearing street clothes with his head shaven, and he said he could get them all in.
"He's going in too", Tara realized. "And he changed his getup to what it was like before."
"Guess his atoning involves being who he was, than what Wolfram and Hart made him", Willow said. "He's strong."
"Just hope he stops blaming himself this much, it's not completely his fault", Buffy told the rest.
"Hopefully he realizes it soon", Xander sighed.
Lindsey helped his son study as his wife asked to bring a bulb from the cellar, and now Lindsey seemed nervous, walking to the cellar door, hesitating, but walked in still, now very cautious.
"There is more", Dawn realized. "See how scared he is."
"So his torment is in the cellar", Giles said. "And he has to keep going in to face it."
"He earned it", Xander shrugged. "But I guess they need him now."
"Unfortunately", Buffy added.
Gunn led Angel and Spike into a garage, chatting, revealing there was another tattoo guy in Tokyo back in the day, so Lindsey would have been sent to the same place as him. It wasn't a Hell though, rather a holding Dimension, but they could reach there with a Camaro according to Gunn. The Camaro drove itself, and Angel was weirded out, though Spike wasn't due to some Knight Rider. Gunn said the car would get them there, then they had to find Lindsey and take on the Wrath. They eventually ended up in a dark tunnel.
"What do you think Wrath is?" Dawn asked the rest.
"Could be the thing in the cellar", Tara suggested. "Since Lindsey is so afraid of it."
"Yeah, guess its there, and its not something to be taken lightly", Willow added.
They eventually arrived where it was a sunny, beautiful day, in the suburbs. Angel called it a reward. In the dark room, Wesley told Illyria. "You could go anywhere, you could leave." Illyria said. "That's not possible." Wesley was confused. "Of course it's possible. Are you telling me the great Illyria, idol of millions, was limited to one small dimension?" "I traveled all of them as I pleased. I walked worlds of smoke and half-truths, intangible", she turned away. "Worlds of torment and of unnamable beauty." She looked into the mirror, Wesley's reflection over her shoulder. "Opaline towers as high as small moons. Glaciers that rippled with insensate lust. And one world with nothing but shrimp. I tired of that one quickly."
"Well damn! It's true!" Xander said. "A world with only shrimp does exist!"
"Yeah, Anya used to mention that, didn't she?" Tara asked.
"She did, and she was right!" Xander said happily. "It's real!"
"Well, good thing", Buffy shrugged.
"So, we'll get only shrimp there, got it", Dawn nodded.
Wesley asked. "Then why stay in this world? Surely there's a world more appealing, maybe not the shrimp one, but one where you'd be welcome like you never will be here. Why don't you go? You can go. Why don't you go?" Illyria snapped, grabbing Wesley by the throat and staring at him angrily. She let him go, tossing him aside as she started gasping for air. She breathed hard. "It's too small. It's too small. I can't breathe." She paced, panicked, in a circle. "I can't live with these walls. I can't breathe. There's no room for anything real." Wesley assured. "It's all right." Illyria glared at Wesley. "I should gut you where you stand. You challenged me. There's not enough space to open my jaws. My face is not my face. I don't know what it will say." She panted again. Wesley requested. "Illyria... come with me."
The others were interested but also terrified by what they had just seen. Illyria did listen to Wesley, but she was unstable as hell, and needed to be handled with care, or she could go off and kill all of them.
"That's some really thin water they're treading on with her, better be really, really careful", Willow warned them all.
"Yes, care is needed here to handle this", Giles agreed.
Lindsey repeated his suburban lifestyle like before and went back as the Camaro drove in, and Angel and Spike eventually realized sunlight didn't affect them, Gunn pointing out it was another Dimension, so all walked to the front door.
The antics of Angel and Spike made them chuckle as Xander hoped. "Let's hope they do not become beasts here."
"I think only the sun is different here, not the whole Dimension", Tara told him, and he nodded, accepting.
They rung the doorbell and Lindsey's wife opened it, with Lindsey greeting them, and they realized he didn't remember them and had lost his memory. They tried to remind him, mentioning it was a spell. Lindsey thought a friend of his called Fisher had put them up to this. They mentioned the Wrath too and Lindsey requested them to leave.
"He's so much more likeable without his memory", Buffy said, and all nodded. "Sucks they need the real Lindsey."
"But you know, sometimes compromises need to be made", Willow told Buffy, and she nodded.
"Yeah, I get that now", Buffy agreed.
Eve was agitated at Wolfram and Hart, Lorne and Harmony keeping her company, then the alarms rang as the suited man from before entered, and Eve cried. A guard tried to stop him but was punched so hard the man's fist came out of the guard's back, covered in blood. The guard died as all three screamed in terror.
"So it's Terminator", Xander answered Harmony's question, everyone freaked out.
"Don't think he's more powerful than Illyria, but definitely above the whole Team Angel", Willow said grimly. "And their most powerful members are away."
"Yeah, what a timing!" Buffy sighed. "If she goes, then Lindsey won't have much incentive to help them."
"So she needs to be saved, and so does Lindsey", Dawn muttered. "Damn it!"
Angel, Spike and Gunn tried to remind Lindsey before Angel noticed a necklace on him, and ripped it off, so he collapsed, then saw Angel with a dagger and thought he wanted to kill him, but Angel assured it wouldn't be quick if he would, and he pulled Lindsey up. Lindsey's "wife" then arrived and pulled out a machine gun.
"They really prepared for intruders", Tara commented grimly as all watched, horrified.
"So, protect Lindsey and avoid the military housewife", Xander commented. "Yeesh!"
"Come on guys", Dawn urged.
The wife shot at them as Spike and Gunn took cover while Angel pulled Lindsey to safety. Angel told Spike to get Lindsey to the car. Angel rushed the wife as the other two carried Lindsey out the front door, while the wife punched Angel and beat him with the gun. Outside, Spike and Gunn noticed the Camaro was gone, then an ice cream truck arrived as the driver shot at them while Spike shielded the other two, and the mail carrier also joined.
"Damn! Everyone here has machine guns!" Xander said.
"If Angel and Spike weren't Vampires, this would end horribly", Willow realized, and that was a terrifying thought.
"It's the Partners, what they lack in power, they have in precision", Giles pointed out to the rest.
"Yeah", Buffy agreed with a sigh.
They ended up back in the house where Angel took down the wife with 2 punches but the kid appeared and shot them too. They asked Lindsey about the Wrath and he didn't know, but the mention of the cellar made him terrified so they realized it was there. Angel and Spike pushed the couch towards the boy, tripping him and then went to the cellar, where Lindsey said they'd die every day.
"So he dies in there every day and gets resurrected?" Tara wondered. "And has subconscious knowledge of it. That's his punishment."
"It can be worse, but still bad enough", Xander shrugged.
"Now they're all gonna face the Wrath", Dawn pointed out and they paled.
"Well, Angel and Spike are together so I'm confident about our side", Buffy said hopefully.
The man strode towards Lorne and Eve when Harmony in Vamp face grabbed him, trying to break his neck, but he only seemed annoyed. The other two ran to the elevator as Harmony was effortlessly tossed away, and the elevator closed just as he came close.
"Well, good thing he can't do what the T-1000 did", Xander sighed in relief.
"Still not gone though", Buffy pointed out.
"Yeah, he is dangerous", Willow muttered.
The gang was in the cellar which looked like a torture dungeon, and found multiple bloody organs on the floor, a heart included, which Lindsey revealed was his, and Spike dropped it as they looked around for a way out.
Now all were horrified as they realized what was going on.
"So Lindsey's heart is cut out here…." Tara trailed off.
"Then gets regrown and is cut out again when he comes back", Giles finished. "Good Lord."
"It's like Prometheus in Greek Mythology", Willow realized. "That's where the Partners got their inspiration probably."
"So Wrath is really dangerous", Buffy muttered grimly.
Then a Demon approached, his chains rattling him. Gunn pushed Lindsey out of the way as Spike took Vamp face and attacked with an ax before being thrown off. Angel attacked too but was knocked away. Then Spike swung on a chain to kick it but his legs were grabbed and he got thrown off. The Demon beat him as Angel attacked but was disarmed and thrown down. Then Spike hit him a few times before being thrown off as Angel hit him with a mace but was thrown off again, and it picked the mace as Angel and Spike got back up to fight.
"That thing is powerful", Buffy muttered, noting how easily Angel and Spike were being beaten.
"Yeah, now we know why it's called the Wrath", Dawn realized.
"How do they beat it?" Xander wondered.
Gunn put Lindsey's necklace on as Angel asked. "Gunn, no! What the hell are you doing?" Gunn replied. "What needs to be done." Angel said. "I'm not leaving you here." Gunn told him. "You don't make the rules here. Wolfram & Hart does. If one leaves, one has to stay. A void is impossible." The gate in front of the fire opened. Angel realized. "You knew." Gunn reminded. "That thing about atonement."
Now they had tears again as Dawn said with a cry. "He thinks he deserves it."
"Come on, Gunn, you don't deserve it", Buffy assured. "You made a mistake, not something intentional."
"It will take a long time for him to realize that", Tara said sadly. "He thinks this is his way of making up, even if its not."
"He doesn't deserve this", Willow agreed.
"But he is a hero for sacrificing himself like that", Xander told the rest. "A true hero."
All nodded respectfully as Giles hoped. "Hopefully they can bring him back when this is done."
"Gunn..." Angel told the others. "Let's go." Spike tried to get Gunn to come. "You are not bloody serious!" Gunn urged. "When I forget, the door closes. Go. You have to." Angel and Spike led Lindsey into the fire. "This is where...I was... I..." the gate in front of the fire closed. "I belong. I was- What was I doing? Why am I down here?" The wife's voice came. "Honey, what are you doing down there?" Gunn now forgot. "I don't know. Must be losing my mind."
All sighed sadly as Dawn wished. "Please save him later."
"Angel wouldn't leave him behind forever, I know it", Buffy said firmly.
Lorne and Eve ended up in the garage and eventually got a car, but Angel, Spike and Lindsey appeared too. Eve hugged Lindsey as Angel and Spike tried to get them to the elevator, and it was revealed to Lorne that Gunn was left behind. "But you never leave a….. I guess we do. That's what we do now."
"He sounds…." Willow trailed off.
"Disillusioned?" Tara asked and got a nod.
"Yeah, like he's slowly done with this now", Willow said.
"Well, they lost Cordelia and Fred, now Gunn's been left behind", Buffy sympathized. "So many losses so fast."
"Yeah", Dawn nodded sadly. "Poor them all really."
The man punched off the door and approached them as Angel quipped he was well-dressed. The man, instead of fighting, pulled out a pen and contract, which Eve had to sign. The man introduced himself as Marcus Hamilton, the new liaison to the Senior Partners, and had all of Eve's immortality and other privileges. Eve now said she'd die someday.
"You bitch!" Buffy now snapped. "You lied to them!"
"Wow, so she led them on a chase just because she will die someday", Xander scoffed. "Guess what? Everyone does!"
"I still want to put her on fire", Willow snarled.
"You're not the only one", Dawn agreed with her.
"So he is the new liaison", Giles simply noted.
"Marcus Hamilton", Tara spoke his name again.
Marcus pleasantly talked to them, assuring the Senior Partners were backing them up, and he looked forward to working with them.
"Eve was with Lindsey, this guy is actually under the Senior Partners, now they have to be extra careful", Buffy realized and the rest nodded.
Illyria and Wesley were standing on the rooftop. She had her head leaned all the way back, staring skyward. "Are you all right?" Illyria said. "I breathe easier." Wesley assured. "The walls don't press in as hard when you can't see them." Illyria noted. "But they're still here." "Yes." "All I am is what I am. I lived 7 lives at once. I was power and the ecstasy of death. I was God to a God", Illyria looked down. "Now... I-I'm trapped... on a roof. Just one roof... in this time and this place, with an unstable human who drinks too much whiskey and called me a Smurf." Wesley chuckled. "You don't worship me at all, do you?"
"He called her a Smurf", Xander said as the rest chuckled at that.
"Brave guy to do that", Dawn muttered.
"Or really drunk and unstable", Tara pointed out.
"He is not the same anymore", Willow said sadly.
"Guess he too died with Fred", Buffy realized, and everyone felt bad for him too.
"I'm sorry", Giles whispered to Wesley.
Wesley noted. "And you really can't leave. "I... don't know", Illyria looked up. "And I fear in any other dimension in this form I'd be but prey to those I knew." She hung her head. "I reek of humanity." Wesley said. "Don't flatter yourself." Illyria looked over the skyline. "Your world is so small. And yet you box yourselves in rooms even smaller. You shut yourselves inside... in rooms, in routines." Wesley told her. "There are things worse than walls. Terrible... and beautiful. If we look at them for too long they will burn right through us. Truths we couldn't bear. Not every day." Illyria sighed. "We are so weak." Wesley agreed. "Yes. Yes, we are."
"There is weakness but there is also strength", Buffy defended the humans. "All of this is a huge step-up from your time."
"I think she's too much of a cynic to realize that", Xander pointed out to her.
"She is trying to adjust too", Willow sighed.
At Angel's penthouse, Lorne pulled out the bullets from Spike's back. Lindsey and Eve sat together as Angel arrived. Lindsey quipped. "Oh, look. It's the hero of the hour." Angel snarled. "I'm not your hero. I'm your warden." Lindsey shrugged. "It's all how you look at the glass." Angel sighed. "I thought a few months of torture at the hands of the Senior Partners would have dug a little deeper." Lindsey told him. "Just scratched the surface. Turns out they can only undo you as far as you think you deserve to be undone. I wonder how Gunn's gonna make out." Angel told him. "The Senior Partners want to know everything you know about them. About the apocalypse, about their plans for me." Spike stood up. "And for me. The guy with the pen said, "welcome to the team." Must've meant something." Lindsey gave a speech. "You know what I know. Look around. The world's a cesspool... full of selfish and greedy beasts. We live, we die. Even you, babe." Eve was hurt. "Lindsey, don't."
"Afraid of dying?" Buffy asked as the rest glared at her.
"She's afraid in general, and has no life outside of Lindsey or the Partners", Willow commented.
"Wonder what she'll do without both", Xander said.
Lindsey asked. "You still happy to see me?" Angel reminded. "Yeah, hell's on earth. Holland manners tried to sell me that line 3 years ago." Lindsey asked. "Did you ever prove him wrong?" "All how you look at the glass. You know, Lindsey, we can philosophize all night. Hell..." Angel chuckled. "We could do it forever, huh? I don't need to eat, sleep, drink." He sat. "How about you?" Lindsey grinned. "That's what I like to see... the Angel of yore. Takes no prisoners, suffers no fools. How 'bout this? It's here. It's been here all along. Underneath. You're just too damn stupid to see it." Angel leaned forward. "See what?" Lindsey revealed. "The apocalypse, man. You're soaking in it." Spike shrugged. "I've seen an apocalypse or two in my time. I'd know I one was under my nose." Lindsey told him. "Not an apocalypse. The apocalypse. What'd you think, a gong was gonna sound? Time to jump on your horses and fight the big fight? Starting pistol went off a long time ago, boys. You're playing for the bad guys. Every day you sit behind your desk and you learn a little more how to accept the world the way it is. Well, here's the rub... heroes don't do that. Heroes don't accept the world the way it is. They fight it."
"As much as I hate him, he's not wrong about that", Dawn told the rest, and they all seemed to grudgingly agree.
"So the Senior Partners have their scheduled apocalypse too", Tara noted. "And its coming."
"Maybe they hired Angel to distract him from it", Willow suggested, and all realized she was right.
"So much for that plan", Buffy shrugged.
Angel sat back. "You're saying everything we do... it's a distraction... to keep us busy from looking under the surface." Lindsey snapped his fingers. "Ding! We have a winner! The world keeps sliding towards entropy and degradation, and what do you do? You sit in your big chair, and you sign your checks, just like the Senior Partners planned. The war's here, Angel. And you're already 2 soldiers down."
"3 actually", Xander said, remembering Cordelia, as all sighed sadly at remembering her death too.
"This is getting worse", Buffy said. "How are they going to fight it?"
"Together", Tara told her. "Because that's what they've always done."
Gunn was now helping the boy study just like Lindsey did. Then the wife asked him to bring a bulb from the cellar and he hesitated, getting nervous. The screen went black.
"Poor Gunn", Dawn said sadly, all feeling bad for him and how much he blamed himself.
"So Eve is not a liaison anymore, Hamilton is, Lindsey's back, and Gunn is trapped", Xander summed up.
"And another apocalypse is coming", Giles noted grimly.
"Let's see what happens next, it must be coming soon", Buffy said as she came to the next recording.
Done at last. Poor Gunn man!
And next episode, where we finally get a more likeable Connor.
Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
