Mal, River. "There are no cows in space," River says matter-of-factly.

Mal. He didn't plan to go down this way. Tag to "Out of Gas".

River. Fireflies, like tiny beacons of flame, light her way.

River. Up to this point, she has been nothing but a burden.

River. Her heart. It aches. Every day that passes by. Every moment.

Mal, Simon, River, Zoe. "Would you rather I lie?" Simon exclaims.

Mal/Simon. "I'm sorry if I surprised you," Simon took Mal's silence as invitation to move inside.

Mal, River, Simon. "She did the math," Mal mutters some time after the crew have all wandered off to leave him to his thoughts. Tag to "Objects In Space".

Mal/Kaylee. "Relax, Captain. This is supposed to be fun."

"I'm wondering why a man so anxious to fly under Alliance radar would house known fugitives. You're not overly fond of the boy, so why risk it?" Why would Mal risk it? This is why!

Saria could tell this ship had meant something to somebody. It called to her and she made it her goal to let her sail through the empty black once more

Set after Serenity. 'Zoe felt empty now. She'd walk through the corridors of the battered old ship and watch people walk by her, but never really see them.'

Set during "Our Mrs. Reynolds" and is a different take on the ending. What if Mal knew what Inara had done...what would the remainder of the conversation had been like? !Note: First Firefly story ever so please be kind. Read & review if you have the time!

Another tribute to Malcolm and Zoe. If you don't like her don't read my stuff. Mal and Inara ugh! My guy threatened no sex if I even hinted that they had been together. The only complaint I ever had about Mal and Zoe was that they weren't together.
