I fell asleep last night. I barely managed to edit it and post on AO3. I didn't make it here I apologize lol Fire Lily by EtherealBeing was suggested to me by Garnet168 and it is amazing! It's Katsuki/Izuku with angels and demons. I loved it enough I lost sleep and barely talked to anyone in my family for a whole day LMAO chapters are long and the word count it 248k+ words.
EtherealBeing has another story I started reading called Bluebird and it's good. It's finished with 7 chapters same pairing! Both on AO3
This chapter is exactly how I felt building my daughter's bed. Because the same shit happened other than the bed was metal and not wood.
hitokori midnight: Endeavor is a douche lol Idk how far you in the manga itself but thinking definitely get interesting. My sister got to go home last night and she had pictures done of him with the blanket I had made for him lol it was so sweet. I've read enough stories and I've noticed Omega houses are a newer thing ( I took a hiatus when I had a lot of issues with my pregnancy). In my story, there are Alpha, Beta and Omega houses for those who are different and they are deemed as unmateable or uncooperative. It would be like a gated community to keep them in.
Izuku woke up first, finding himself plastered against Tomura's chest. He pulled himself away and rolled over to see Dabi's smiling face.
"Good morning lover boy."
He let out a short scream making Tomura jump in his sleep.
"You two sure like cuddling."
The pale haired omega sat up and gave him the finger as he groaned.
"Why is there yelling this fucking early? Fuck."
"Why were staring at me like that?" he hissed turning bright pink.
"Because I can. It's about lunchtime."
"Already?" Tomura asked rubbing his eyes, "I think that's the best sleep I had. I need this mattress."
Dabi snorted.
"If you want to Izuku, you can spend the night with me again."
Tomura's head whipped around so fast his neck cracked. He glared at the other omega with murder in his ruby colored eyes. Dabi gave a shit eating grin to them both.
"Um, I'm ok. It is a nice bed though."
"I had a nice night. I haven't watched movies like that in forever."
"Same," Izuku said with a smile as he inched off the giant bed.
"I plan on making breakfast sandwiches. I know it's lunch but I have food now and I can make stuff."
Izuku grinned, "How do you make yours?"
"Fried egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown patty and extra cheese with mayo on toasted bread."
"That sounds amazing," Tomura said looking slightly more excited than angry now, "I'll…. help."
Dabi's eyebrows disappeared behind his bangs, "Alright then. Let's get started."
Izuku went to his room and took a shower. It seemed no matter how many time he showered, he smelled like everyone else…. It wasn't bad or anything, just different. It seemed it affected his mood a lot. He was ok with that…. With his mother around, he always felt on edge. Shouta didn't constantly put out aggressiveness and weird scents all through the house.
He looked over the second floor balcony to see Tomura sucking on his index finger with a pissy look on his face.
"Goddamnit! Why is it so fucking hot?!" he yelled.
Dabi looked like he was laughing at him. The two of them started arguing loudly making him grin.
"Hey, Izuku."
Shouta stood beside of him for a second then took a step back with a look on his face like someone slapped him.
"Did I do something wrong?" Izuku asked looking alarmed.
"No. You have a possessive scent on you."
He blinked.
"Oh…. I just showered?"
"A shower won't get that smell off for at least a few days."
"Oh."
Izuku looked thoughtful for a moment.
"Anyways, thank you again for last night."
"Of course! How did it go?"
"Small steps but it was great. We decided next Saturday we will do it again. I go back to teaching on Monday so I need sleep tonight."
"I can understand that."
"I gotta go back to grading papers. Let me know on the intercom when breakfast is done. Dabi hasn't made those breakfast sandwiches in forever and they're the best thing that he's made. He could open a food truck and sell those things- he would be a millionaire in a week."
Izuku smiled.
"Thank you for helping. Shouto said what you did. I always tried to help when I could but teaching doesn't provide a lot of money. Sometimes I help out Ochako and she helps me. It kind of feels like we're already together in that sense but everyone always takes care of each other."
He nodded in understanding. People were prejudice against those with issues with their second gender. No matter how many books he had read through middle school and high school, he always found that the second gender was everything and no one questioned it. He had wondered why when he moved in why the rent was so low and it made sense now. That's why Tomura told him what was wrong with everyone before hand.
It was a little sad.
Things weren't going to change and even if those with second genders started to die out, then people would be against those with a second gender. It was the sad truth about how people were and they would never change sadly. The people he met along the way led him here. Led him to peace and friendship. Life was hard but in the one week he was here, it no longer mattered.
The alpha patted his back and went back to his room.
Izuku went down the stairs to see Shouto sitting at the kitchen table with a news paper in his hands. He dropped it and gave him a smile. It was a weird ass smile but he smiled back at the beta anyways. Shouto placed his paper on the table as Izuku sat beside of him.
"You make a good pillow," the bi colored beta said with a smirk.
Izuku turned bright red with embarrassment, "Th-thanks?"
"Anytime. You want some coffee?"
"Yea. Five cream."
Shouto got up and headed to the coffee maker. Izuku watched as Tomura shot him a weird look and Shouto just scoffed at him and sat back down.
"Here you go."
"Thank you."
Tomura looked back at them quickly but Izuku noticed it this time. Was everyone acting weird or was it him?
Hm….. did I miss something or did I not notice anything before?
"Um, here."
He snapped out of his thoughts to noticed the red eyed omega holding out a plate with two sandwiches.
"Thank you! Sorry I dazed off."
"It's fine."
It only took him a minute to realize the omega's hands were pink with burns.
I guess cooking is a challenge for him…. other than pizza. I kind of feel bad.
He got up and used the intercom like Shouta had asked. It seemed the alpha was super excited for the sandwiches because he was racing down the stairs leaving his female omega companion behind.
Shouta took the seat on the end by Izuku and Ochako sat down across from the freckled man with a smile on her face. Dabi delivered the rest of the plates to everyone else, giving everyone two sandwiches each. Izuku had to say it was the best damn thing he had eaten. It was peppered bacon and maple sausage with slices of gooey, warm cheese….. A nice toasted hamburger bun with mayo and a crispy hash brown and the egg tasted like it was fried in bacon grease.
"I think we need to eat this once a week. I think if I ever moved out, you would have to come to my house and make this," Izuku said grinning at Dabi.
The black haired omega beamed with pride, "Thanks! I made it once when I was drunk and I was too hungry for a bowl of cereal. Tomura did pretty good even though he got burned a few times."
"Are you ok?" Izuku asked looking at him.
"Y-yea. Dabi likes those fucking pans without the plastic handles."
"I told you to wear oven mitts if you couldn't remember the pot holders."
Tomura growled at him as he finished off his first sandwich.
The rest of brunch was great. Everyone left the kitchen except Tomura and Izuku. Izuku went to the coffee pot and poured himself another cup.
"I take it you don't cook much?"
The omega looked slightly ashamed and shook his head, "I prefer quick meals. Never really took the time to learn to cook."
Izuku smiled softly, "I didn't learn until I was doing half of my classes of college campus. At that point I was doing whatever sounded good. I have a guy I was neighbors with…. He would eat whatever I made. Once I did mac and cheese with tomatoes and pepper- he swore it was the best thing he ever had. I paid for him and I to take cooking classes. It was the best decision for me and for him. The thing was, it wasn't a class to make fancy food. It was for people to learn the basics and then you could go up to more diverse classes on cooking."
"Oh. I just assumed your mom made you learn."
"Nah. She did most of the cooking for a while. I started most of my college classes in tenth grade thanks to a professor friend of mine. He's like the dad I never had and it was nice. I grew up much faster than most kids my age and my neighbor was impressed. He graduated at seventeen and started college that fall."
"Oh that's interesting."
Izuku smiled as he sipped his coffee.
"My adoptive father allowed me to do whatever. He was always busy and the microwave was my best friend growing up. My 'sitter' made me dinner and lunch meat sandwiches but then when I turned ten, he introduced me to pizza. I had asked 'what if I was omega? Shouldn't I leave how to cook?' He said everyone should know how to cook and that everyone loves food."
"Awww. Was he a great guy?"
"Yea. Taught me how to play chess and home schooled me when I presented as omega. In high school, omegas had to be on birth control and had to wear special bracelets. Alphas did too. He told me I didn't need asshole pawing at me like a fuck hole. He paid for a special kind of alpha to reduce heat days."
"O-oh."
"My sitter was an alpha and he didn't believe in those gender roles. He didn't force omega rules on me and I was grateful for the service he bought for me. Heats are not fun from my own experience."
"You had a great role model."
"Yea, I guess I did but it kind of screwed me on finding that special someone I guess. I've seen the looks on some of their faces when they realized I had no skills and I was promised special classes to learn but I didn't care for it."
"Shouldn't you find someone who likes you as you are?"
The omega shrugged, "I guess."
Izuku finished his coffee silence. He could've gone for a third cup but he needed to get stuff.
"I gotta put my chair and desk together. I have about nine days until I start work."
"You want some help?"
Izuku grinned, "I would love that!"
Izuku and Tomura moved his bed out of the way to lay out all of the pieces onto the carpet. He pulled him bright blue tool bag out of his closet and placed it by the wall within arm's reach. They tossed all the trash by the bedroom door, not caring where the cardboard and stryrofoam went. Tomura had all the bolts and screw in a pile so they wouldn't lose anything while Izuku looked at the directions.
"I can already tell this going to be a pain in the ass," he said after looking at the directions for three minutes.
"That's why we pay people to make the shit," the omega said with a smile.
He laughed, "I would feel bad if I paid someone."
"Alright then, let's start this rage inducing project," Tomura said rolling his eyes
Rage inducing was right- it barely took ten minutes and Izuku was annoyed. It was rather amusing to Tomura because he wasn't stinking up the place with distressing hormones. It was a nice change of pace from others.
The two of them did their best to put together the shelving part of the desk but then apparently something was wrong. It seemed crooked and wobbly. Both men stared at the wood like it personally offended them- it kind of did in a way.
"Do….. do we have extra pieces or something?" Tomura asked staring at the packets of screws they had.
Izuku leaned over to look at it all. He remembered seeing the omega put them together so they wouldn't lose anything.
"Did we use the wrong pieces? It said the screws to use was the one the hex key went too."
The omega picked up the instructions that were by Izuku's feet and looked at it.
"Um…. it says there was two hex keys… they're two different sizes?"
"But both packs were labeled E weren't they?"
Tomura hadn't seen Izuku annoyed or upset yet but putting furniture together was a good way to know someone…. to see how they handled stressful situations. Well, he wasn't throwing things just yet.
Hmmmm.
It just dawned on him that he didn't actually need help with his computer when he first bought it. He didn't seem stressed out or upset about it.
"Um, question?"
He looked up at the omega with a questioning look. For a brief moment he thought Tomura found the missing pieces.
"Ok. What's up?"
"Did you even need help with your computer?"
He blinked a few times.
"What?"
"When you asked for my help with it, did you actually need help?"
Izuku's face turned bright red.
"I- well no. I just…. wanted to hang out with you? I was just thinking you wouldn't actually hang out with me so... um...I'm sorry, was that wrong of me? I did deceive you."
"No, it's fine. I mean the colors were kind of similar I suppose. I could see how you needed the help," Tomura said with a smirk.
The redness of his face seemed to have gotten darker. He returned to the instructions since he wanted Izuku to wallow in his embarrassment a little longer.
"I think…. we're missing a pack of screws."
The two of them looked over that pile of plastic, bubble wrap and card board.
"Fuck," they said in unison.
After some time looking through each piece of trash, they come to realize the pack of screws they were missing was not actually missing but stuck to another pack of screws.
"I hate it here."
The omega busted up laughing. It wasn't even that funny but to hear something like that from Izuku was weird almost ironic. He smiled with heat rising in his freckled cheeks once again.
Once they regained some composure, they fixed what they needed too and they ended up placing the top on.
"I ordered some pizza," Tomura said.
Izuku smiled, "A snack before dinner?"
"Well…. kind of….."
Tomura turned a little pink.
"What's wrong?"
"I get…. hungry before my heat. I um….. it gets bad before hand. Like how a beta female gets a period and has PMS….. I have PHS….. Preheat syndrome. They say the more fertile you are, the worse it is and…. I have an actual vagina. Half of the male omegas have one or they have the special opening in their asshole that opens up."
Izuku blinked. That was something he did not know. He was learning a lot being in this huge house.
"R-really? I'm so sorry. Would you like a bath in my bathtub so no one bothers you? I heard they like that and the warm water can ease the cramping and such."
The omega hid behind his shaggy bangs and got up.
"Gonna wait for the pizza."
"Ok. I'll finish this and start on my awesome chair."
Tomura smiled at him then practically ran out of the room.
Odd.
The omega returned a few minutes and placed the pizza in front of Izuku then sat down across from him.
"I got cheese pizza, added extra sauce and extra cheese."
"That sounds awesome!"
Tomura opened the box and they dug in. Even though neither one of them talked, it was a comfortable silence.
Just ask him already, Tomura thought wanting to scratch his neck.
Izuku put down his phone down and stood up then stretched, cracking his back. Tomura just watched him open the box and start laying out the pieces more carefully this time. He turned around to see the complicated look on the guy's face.
"You ok?"
"Um- will you help me with my heat?" he blurted out loud.
Izuku dropped the screwdriver on the carpet. His face turned bright red.
"W-what?"
"I have…. I have the paperwork. I asked them which ones we needed considering the situation."
"I mean…. I'm not offended but I'm not alpha. Won't it be painful for you?"
The omega shrugged, "I guess I'm old enough to deal with the issues…. So…. I didn't want to pester you since you just took care of Ochako but I didn't want anyone else touching me."
"Where did you want to spend it?"
Tomura just stared at him.
"You can stay in my room. I have a bathroom so I won't have to worry about taking back and forth to your room and the main bathroom. I can help you bring your nesting stuff in."
"You're ok with that?"
Izuku nodded quickly, "Whatever makes you the most comfortable."
"O-oh ok. Thanks."
The two of them worked on the gaming chair in silence until it was finished.
"This chair is the best. Where did you get it?" Izuku asked as he ran his hand over the cushion on the arm of the chair as he sat on it.
"On Amazon. I price checked them and some had more features than others."
"Oh well, thank you."
Tomura weaseled in beside of him, with Izuku's leg on his lap.
"Fits almost two people," the omega said with a light blush on his cheeks.
"I see that."
The two of them sat there awkwardly.
"Um, let me get those papers. Just in case it hits earlier."
He jumped up and sprinted out of the room.
Oh god- what I have gotten myself into? Izuku thought covering his face with his hands.
