The sun was setting in dreamland and in the castle where king dedede lives in, more specifically the throne room, Kirby and dedede were playing a racing game while bandana dee was reading a comic book and meta knight was playing chess with zan partizanne, or zan to remember easier.

"So zan…" meta knight started, catching zan's attention.

"How did it feel to fight by Kirby's side for the first time?" he asked as he moved his black rook. Zan counters meta knight's move by moving her white bishop before sighing.

"Sir meta knight, it has been 4 years ever since Kirby defeated void termina, showed us the error of my and my sisters ways and restored hyness' sanity. And you're asking me now?" Zan replied as meta knight moves his black knight.

"Well, I asked your sisters the same question. Francisca said said she was nervous of how the other star allies would treat the 3 of you after what you've done and flamberge said she's grateful to have a roof over her head when the 3 of you moved into dedede's castle after you accepted the offer to become the generals of his army, under my command of course," metal knight giggled the last part before going back to serious. Zan moves her white rook.

"But I never got to hear your answer." Meta knight finished. Zan lets out a sigh in response before she speaks.

"I was… wary. Kirby fought against us when we first met and he defeated us, humiliated us, stripped us of our honour. But when the 3 of us were at his mercy, he refused to finish us off. Instead, he gave us something hyness never gave us when we failed our tasks: a chance of redemption. Even if we fail to fight by Kirby's side, he says everyone makes mistakes instead of abusing us like Hyness does." Zan told meta knight her feelings before she turned to Kirby who was cheering after winning the racing game before putting a fingerless hand on Dedede's back while saying 'good game, triple D'.

"He is a bit of a strange one, wielding a great god-like power of destruction yet using it to help others, especially his enemies like that marx fellow." Zan continued, not taking her eyes off kirby. Meta knight nodded in agreement.

"Yes, even those that are like you, marx and even my dark counterpart, dark meta knight, he still sees light and goodness in a dark soul and brings that light forth. He is a being who is willing to die to protect everyone and everything from all threats. That and a puffball with an endless appetite." meta knight said before knocking zan's white king with his black queen.

"And that's checkmate." meta knight announced, causing zan to turn to the chest board. She sighs in disappointment.

"Hmm, you always know how to beat me at this game." Zan said, rubbing her head. Meta knight giggled in response.

"Well, I always play this game with other people who know how to play: magolor, taranza, susie, daroach, they all put up a fight but you? You always come close to beating me without realising it." meta knight admitted, earning a chuckle from the thunder mage.

"Aw stop it, you're making me blush." zan told meta knight before magolor came into the room with a letter, gaining everyone's attention.

"What is it, magolor?" Kirby asked, tilting his head.

"Oh just a letter for zan, nothing major." Magolor replied before handing Zan the letter. Zan opened the letter and pulled out a piece of paper.

"It's from my sisters, telling me about their vacation." Zan informed the group. 2 days ago, fransisca and flamberge went to a tropical island with susie, adeleine and ribbon for the next 3 weeks. Susie offered the mage sisters, only having fransisca and flamberge to accept while zan stayed. Her sisters wanted her to come but she insisted and besides, the thunder mage enjoys her new job. Dedede looked at the time and learned that it was night time. The self-proclaimed king of dreamland yawned, ready for bed.

"Well, it's getting late, I think it's time to hit the hay." Dedede told the others. Kirby got up and walked to the door.

"I'm heading home, see ya tomorrow then." Kirby said his goodbye and walked out the room, through the hallways, out the main entrance and out the gate to his house. Kirby was happily humming a tune as he made his way to his house. He notices Rick, the giant hamster with an Australian accent, eating an apple.

"Hey, rick." Kirby greeted one of his animal friends. The hamster in question turns to Kirby and waves.

"Ello, kirby. Heading home?" Rick asked his puffy buddy.

"Yep. I need to get my beauty sleep. A hero can't do hero stuff if he can't get enough rest, you know." Kirby replied happily.

"Well, see you tomorrow, mate." Rick said. Kirby laughed.

"Same with you." Kirby said and waved him goodbye. After his little chat with Rick, Kirby made it to his dome shaped house and went inside. He put his nightcap on, laid on his bed and pulled the cover over him and went to sleep. Normally he would be dreaming of food like strawberry shortcake and watermelon but this dream was different and far far darker.

In Kirby's dream, Kirby could see through the eyes of another person and the person was approaching what looked like a vent. The person slams his fist on the vent twice before a little human girl with brown hair, glowing yellow eyes and a white dress emerges from the vent. The girl had a toy that she most likely made herself. She had a happy expression on her face before showing whoever Kirby is looking through.

"Look daddy, it's you." the girl said with her voice echoed with layers of deeper voices. The girl climbs out the vent and the person Kirby is looking through, the girl's father, places the girl down. Kirby noticed the girl had a syringe with a jar of glowing red liquid.

"Let's go out to play, daddy." the girl said as she pulled the father's arm. The 2 walked down a corridor with a glass window on the left. The father turns his head to the window to see other buildings but everything was underwater but what caught Kirby's attention the most was the appearance of the father Kirby is looking through. The father was wearing some sort of armoured diving suit. The 2 continue walking before the girl runs off to another room and the "father" follows. But what Kirby saw next horrified him: he saw the girl extracting more of the glowing red liquid from a woman's corpse but something told Kirby that the glowing red stuff isn't blood. The girl pulls the syringe from the corpse and drinks the red stuff from a binki on top of the jar. The little girl giggles before sniffing the air.

"More angles, daddy. This way." the girl said before running into another room but this one was well lit. The father followed the girl into the room for Kirby to see some kind of fancy party with most of the people at the party wearing masks. A man wearing a white tuxedo with a rose on it yet not wearing a mask turns to the father. The man gets startled and moves out of the way before the father continues. He walks down a hallway before hearing the girl scream in another room.

"Daddy!" the girl yells and the father runs into the room where the scream came from. The father runs over the balcony to 4 thugs, 3 male and one female, trying to take the syringe from the little girl's hands.

"Get the ADAM!" one of the thugs says as he continues to try to take the girl's syringe.

"Come with us, little girl." the female said before the thug successfully takes the syringe and pushes the girl down. The father jumps off the balcony and crushes one of the thugs' skull and brain with his foot.

"You want some, big guy?!" the thug with the syringe taunts as he injected himself with the red stuff before blue thunder began to spark in his hand. The thug then shocks the father with the thunder, leaving the father stunned but he quickly recovers and pulls out a drill. The drill began to spin. The thug with a mask began to approach the father with his weapon and said an old saying.

"The bigger they are, the harder they-" but before the thug could finish, the father impales the masked thug as he drilled through him as the thug screams in agony before the father throws the corpse away. The female thug tries to land a hit but the father knocks her away with his drill, cracking her skull in the process. The father then turns to the final thug.

"Get out of here, freak!" the thug shouts but the 'freak' knocks the thug down with his drill. The drill begins to spin again but before the father could drill his skull in, the thug rolls over, barely dodging the drill. The father readies the drill again but the thug throws a green ball at him and his vision becomes blurry and green. The father turns to the little girl as his vision began to become more clear but still green.

"There we are. He's perfectly safe now." Kirby heard a woman's voice with a British accent. Kirby could see a woman with glasses and blonde hair came into view. The woman then grabs the little girl's hand.

"This is NOT your daughter. Do you understand? Her name is eleanor. And she is mine." the woman told the… the… whatever Kirby is looking through.

"Now. kneel, please." The woman ordered the metal golem and he did what the woman said. The green ball must have some kind of mind controlling chemicals in it.

"Remove your helmet." She gave another order and the beast took off his helmet.

"Now… take the pistol." the woman ordered as she gave the beast a pistol and he took it.

"Place it against your head." the woman ordered again and the beast placed the pistol against his head. Kirby could hear the beast breathing, telling the puffball that the monster is trying to resist.

Eleanor had a horrified expression as she placed a hand over her mouth. The woman then gives her final command.

"Fire."

The beast struggled to fight the mind control but it was too powerful.

"DADDY!" Eleanor shouts before the monster pulls the trigger and everything goes black.

Kirby jolts awake, breathing heavily as sweat drips down his face. The puffball heard the crackles of thunder outside his window. Kirby looked out to see it was still night as rain fell from the sky and thunder could be heard. Kirby went back to bed and tried to go to sleep but couldn't get the image of the horrified girl out of his head. From that dream Kirby had, the little girl, Eleanor, loved that monster like a father despite him killing those thugs. She loved him and that woman took that away from her. Speaking of the woman, Kirby could sense the woman was somewhat insane even if she didn't show it and Kirby didn't see any light in her.

Kirby tried to ignore it and go to sleep but that dream felt so real, like he was actually there. He has to tell the others about the dream he had otherwise the problem would never be fixed.
