A part of the book that had not even a small paragraph to itself. So I took the liberty of giving it a story of its own. If you don't want spoilers for the book, just read up to page 33 and you'll be good.

Prequel to "A Thrush, Ready to Sing." The first winter after the battle, Thorin struggles to hold onto the truth. Some things, though, are certain beyond doubt. (Happy ending AU featuring acorns, hot cocoa, and first kisses.)

Frodo was a very determined little hobbit so when his Uncle Bilbo runs off on adventure with a bunch of dwarfs he is not about to be left behind. The consequences of this rash decision though have more far reaching effects then the little hobbit could ever imagine. Kili gets a quite unexpected visitor one evening while being held prisoner by the elves of Mirkwood. Legolas/Kili, Kili/Legolas slash. LegolasxKili, KilixLegolas.

Dwalin was so busy making sure Thorin understood the gifts Bilbo graced the king with that he did not give much time to think over the items Ori gave him. It took the scribe giving Dawlin a punch to get him to finally realize.
