This is a story set in the time after the fall of The Dwarf Kingdom under the Mountain, and follows the events that lead to Thorin's decision to take his Company on a quest to Erebor. Forgive my impatience and read this part that belongs in the middle of the story, and is about Thorin and Azlyn (my O/C and Thorin's love interest). More to follow.

Bilbo was taken from Shire, and now must become accustomed to life as property of another, while he tries to make the best of the situation and learn of a way to get home.

Bilbo Baggins is used to his warm, comforting hobbit home in The Shire. So, trekking across the landscape, getting in fights with both the Orcs and the weather, it is completely possible for the out-of-his-element hobbit to fall ill... Sick!fic. Technically movie!verse, although could probably just be book!verse as well.

"And now, you ask of me to give you my sons as well. To sacrifice them for your 'cause'. Well to that I say, to the Pits of Doom with Erebor! To the cold and barren wastelands with your 'duty! I shall not let you take my sons from me, brother! Over my dead, cold, and lifeless body shall you take from me the only thing I have left!" Dis' thoughts on her sons following their uncle.

Dis continues to wait for her sons to return home, for she can do little else.

Kíli and Dwalin have an important quest of their own. (Movie backstory: What did Kíli and Dwalin talk about when Dwalin welcomed Kíli so heartwarmingly in Bilbo's hole and Kíli addressed him as 'Mister Dwalin' with a smile?)

Thorin Oakenshield is on the quest to reclaim Erebor from the dragon Smaug. With his nephews and the other 10 dwarves, Gandalf, Bilbo Baggins, and a Dunedein Ranger, he travels across Middle-Earth to takee back his home. Rated M for Viloence, frightening scenes, strong romance, blood and gore.

Thorin leads the Company to Erebor. It doesn't turn out well. (Rated M for possible language concerns.) A fill for this prompt:

Kili is bullied, Fili rearranges some teeth, and Thorin's attempts at comfort are infused with the harsh lessons he must teach his nephews.
