A/n, this is a tag for "The Good Earth."

JJ grinned as she and Garcia helped Henry with his chosen Halloween costume. She couldn't wait to see the look on the faces of her team – especially Spence – when they entered the bullpen.

"He's ready," Garcia said.

"Then let's go see everyone."

"Wanna see Uncle Spencer," said little Henry.

"I know you do," JJ said. "Remember to stay with Garcia in the hallway until I tell everyone."

Henry nodded and tugged on Garcia's hand. "We go now."

JJ and Garcia laughed. "Let's do it," Garcia said.

After JJ explained why Henry wanted to go trick-or-treating that night, she watched as he hurried in with Garcia. Spencer's reaction made her smile so hard that her mouth hurt. She loved to see him so happy, and this validation from a four-year-old – strange as it was – could only boost his self-image.

Reid caught up with them and grinned at her as they left to make the rounds for candy. "Thanks," he said.

"Why?"

"For this," he gestured at Henry, jabbering up at Garcia.

"I wasn't lying when I said it was his idea. Garcia's idea was to teach him "E=MC2," though."

"Really," Reid squeaked.

"Yes. Garcia thought it was the perfect icing on the costume."

"Well, thank you all."

"You're welcome. And thank you, Spence."

"Why?"

"Because you're an amazing example for my son. Of course, I knew you would be when Will and I chose you."

"I love him," Reid said. "It's easy to be what you said for him."

JJ reached over and rubbed the side of his arm. "Come on, let's go watch him trick-or-treat.

JJ told Reid she needed to get something from her office and that he should accompany her. He went with her because she had a look in her eyes that he couldn't say no to after spending so much fun time with Henry.

"I found something for you at a Halloween flower show a couple of days ago. I've seen a new light in your eyes. I'm guessing someone in your life is making you happier than I've seen in a long time."

"JJ, I –"

"Shh," JJ held up a hand. 'I don't want to know anything until you're ready to tell the team or me.

"Thank you?" Reid said, and she saw the relief on his face.

"So, because it is Halloween, I want you to have this. You can even pass it along if you want."

She pointed to a black rose in a crystal vase on her desk. It was a large bloom, and it was beautiful.

"Did you know that most black roses are very rare? They aren't truly black, but deep maroon or purple."

"Or, they are dyed," JJ said with a smirk. "Yes, I did my research. I know they mean death and mourning, but they can also represent everything from mystery to mysticism. However, they are unique, which perfectly represents you in my book. I know whoever's changed your life is equally unique."

"It is lovely, and I think it's perfect for the season. I will accept gratefully, JJ."

"I'm glad you like it. Shall we go find Henry?"

"Yes."

JJ followed him out of her office and hoped that the new light of happiness in his eyes would stay.
