A/n, this is a tag for "Target Rich."

Reid paced the walkway in the park while looking up and down it. He knew that several people passed him with strange looks, but others only ignored his nervous attitude. He wanted to sit down and maybe read one of the books in his bag, but he couldn't concentrate.

The day was beautiful for November, with cloudless blue skies overhead and fallen leaves in red, orange, yellow, and purple scattered over the lawns. A breeze blew but wasn't bitterly cold, and he could smell the coffee truck that sat at the entrance. He thought about heading over for a coffee when he noticed a woman with long blond hair and a stroller topping the rise ahead of him.

"Hey, Spence," she greeted him.

"Hi, JJ."

"I'm so glad you suggested meeting here. I needed to get out of the house."

Reid looked down at baby Michael and grinned. The little guy lay sleeping and wrapped in a blue and white diamond patterned blanket that Garcia had given JJ.

"Hey, Michael."

"Is he still sleeping?"

"Yeah."

"You want to go sit down for a minute?"

Reid nodded, and they headed for a bench about halfway down the sidewalk from the swing sets. "Where's Will and Henry?"

"Will had a demonstration at work, and since I've already seen it and Michael is way too young for drug-sniffing dogs, I decided to come to the park. The guys said to tell you hello and that we're anxious to see you for Henry's birthday in a couple of weeks."

"I can't wait," Reid said. "I'm looking forward to it."

"I'm glad we picked today. It's so beautiful."

Michael began to fuss a little, so JJ picked him out of the stroller and bounced him. Michael, who had his mother's coloring just like Henry, peered up at Reid. He smiled and began to kick his little legs excitedly.

'You see, I told you he recognizes you. Why don't you take him for a minute?"

Reid did take Michael. "Hey there, Michael. How are you?"

JJ chuckled, and Reid glanced up at her. "I'm just so happy at the changes in you. When Henry was his age, you wouldn't hold him unless he was asleep and Will and I were in the room."

"JJ! I was – not ready for babies. Now I am."

JJ rubbed his arm. "I know you are. Spence, one day you're going to make a wonderful father. "

Reid kept his eyes on Michael so he didn't have to look JJ in the face. "I hope so."

"Hey," JJ said. "You will find the one for you. I know it's not my place to talk about Maeve. I know how much you loved her, Spence, and I'm so sorry you lost her that way. I'd give anything to have saved her for you."

Reid smiled because the pain over losing Maeve was an ache now, not a sharp bite from a blade to the heart. "I know, JJ, and I love you for it. I also love you for making me godfather to the boys. I love them so much."

JJ reached over and smoothed back some hair under Michael's knitted hat. He giggled and cooed as Reid played with his little fingers. "I'll teach you magic, just like Henry," Reid said.

"Do you have to," JJ said, and she smirked when Reid said. "Yes."

"Alright. Come on, let's get some coffee. It's a little cool out here."

After they bought coffee, they passed a flower vendor, and Reid stopped. "I want to get something for you and Michael."

"Spence, you don't have to do that."

"Right, but I want to."

JJ watched him pick out two roses, and she smiled when he walked over with them wrapped in green tissue paper with baby's breath. JJ sniffed them and smiled. "Thank you, Spence. They are beautiful."

"I choose the ivory one for you because it means elegance."

"Spence!"

"Don't argue with my opinion."

"Alright."

"And, I choose the salmon color for Michael. It implies excitement and zeal. It's ideal for a new relationship."

"I think it's perfect and gorgeous."

"Come on, let's walk a bit."

They did walk together, and for the first time in a very long time, Reid felt like his friendship with JJ would continue without the undercurrent of love unrequited.
