Rosalie Hale
[Author's Note: I still don't own any of these characters.. But I love them so much. This chapter was fun to write. I have the next several chapters lined out and they're all so much fun.. Especially one coming uppppp. ;) Here's a hint: Rosalie eventually decides that she can handle it. If that doesn't make sense, read the first 2 lines of this chapter lol. Thank you for the reviews. You are all so wonderful. This one is a little shorter but not by much. Everything heats up exponentially at the bday party and that'll be very soon. Sorry for the spelling error in the last chapter where it said Alive instead of Alice. Whoops. But speaking of Alice, I'm going to write a Bella/Alice fic after this one. Of course that'll be a while from now...]
"When do I get to feel your lips on mine?" Bella asked quietly, nestled against the vampire's chest.
"When I'm absolutely sure I can handle it," Rosalie replied, holding the smaller woman in her arms and adoring every second of it. "Now tell me about your friends."
"Well there's Leah," Bella said, "she's my age and she's Native American and grew up on the Rez. I'm friends with a bunch of her friends too- Jake and Quill and Embry and Sam and his girlfriend Emily. And of course Leah's little brother Sam. And then there's Angela and her boyfriend Eric and Jessica and.. well she was with Mike but they broke up. They're sort of off and on."
"Will you invite all of these people?" Rosalie asked, her nose to the top of Bella's head breathing in the scent of her scalp. She was practically obsessed with the way Bella's legs felt tangled with hers. Her warm, smooth skin.. and the way her shirt kept riding up and exposing her panties so that if Rosalie's hands dipped too far down, she accidentally touched the band of them. She was trying her best to keep her thoughts totally g-rated but kind of failing. She was sure that if Edward was around, he'd be grimacing.
"If that's okay with you," Bella said. "If you're not okay with meeting my people yet I understand, really.."
"I'll get over it," the vampire assured her. "Besides, I already met Charlie."
"You met Charlie?" Bella asked, lifting her face to meet Rosalie's eyes.
"In the diner," the blonde revealed. "Having coffee with my father. Weren't you curious how I found out about your birthday?"
"I just assumed Alice saw it or something?"
"She can't see you, remember?" She touched the tip of her index finger to the end of Bella's nose. "We have to play this all by ear and," she moved forward and placed a kiss to the smaller woman's forehead, "and figure it out day by day." She spent a moment playing with a strand of chestnut hair and then said, "you're honestly a mystery to me Bella Swan and I want to know more about you."
"But that's not fair," the park ranger argued, "I hardly know anything about you. And I've been really good other than forgetting about my birthday so I think I deserve to learn a little." She waited and then, pleading, she added, "Please?"
Rosalie realized that there really was no saying no to Bella when she was using her charm. Her warm chocolatey irises, her furrowed eyebrows, her dark pink pouting lips and her goddamn dimples… She really was powerless to her. "Don't pout.. I can't handle it when you pout."
"Oh?" Bella's eyes flashed. "Did I discover one of Rosalie Hale's weaknesses? Pouting?" She searched the vampire's face. "What if I beg?"
"You're a bad girl, Little Bell," the vampire growled. "What do you want to know?"
"Your favorite color," the human said, "your favorite movie, musician, book, television show.. um.. Song?"
"Oh just the basics huh?" The vampire prepared her answers and then said, "Because you're so cute, I'm going to treat you. But don't let it go to your pretty head alright?" She smirked and then, thoughtfully said, "I'm partial to greens. Especially jade or seafoam green.. they were really popular when I was.. Alive. I had my eye on this seafoam green chiffon dress when I was teenager.. always fancied it to be the perfect wedding dress. Of course I never had use for it so I never purchased it. I owned a lovely pleated silk dress in a mint tone though and I.. I actually still have it."
"Will you show it to me sometime?"
"I'll show you absolutely anything you want to see." She fought a strong urge to tilt the woman's face and kiss her, and to prevent it, she urged Bella to lay her head against her breasts and snuggle against her. Then, adoring the way the human's breath tickled her chest, she said, "My favorite movie would be harder to choose. I've loved a lot of movies over a lot of decades."
"Decades," Bella mused. "Do I get to know how many decades?"
"Not yet," the vampire purred. Then- "So for a long time I would have said Audrey Hepburn's Sabrina.. but I also found myself falling in love with Dirty Dancing and Fried Green Tomatoes and Titanic and.. The Mummy."
"Alice told me you liked that one," Bella admitted, her voice a murmur against the blonde's chest. "You're such a romantic."
"Am I?" Rosalie's eyebrows lifted, "You know I really hadn't really realized it until.." she pushed one hand up the back of Bella's shirt and gingerly she began to rub the sore part of her shoulder. "Until I met you, I suppose."
"Mm," Bella sighed, loving the contact and whimpering as the beautiful woman holding her massaged the sore muscle. "You act so tough," she whispered, "but you're so unbelievably gentle with me."
"Maybe," Rosalie purred, knowing it to be absolutely true, "but I really am a snake with everyone else." She continued to rub the muscle and then asked, "What's next? Favorite musician?"
"Yes."
"Mariah Carey."
"What?"
Rosalie laughed. "She's good. She's talented. She hits all the high notes but can sing these deep sultry songs."
"That's so wild," Bella expressed, "Imagine if she knew you were a fan. It would have to feel good to have someone like you appreciating you.."
"Well does it?" Rosalie asked her, "does it feel good, Bella? Knowing how taken I am with you?" she pressed firmly then without meaning too and the brunette groaned in pain and pleasure. As a result, arousal tumbled through Rosalie and she bit her lip to keep from acting on it.. to keep from pulling the human against her and giving her unspeakable pleasure. She swallowed, let the moment regrettably pass and then said, "My favorite song is by Jo Stafford though. It's called You belong to me and it came out in the 50s, I think."
"How does it go?" Bella asked her, "Will you sing it to me?"
Rosalie licked her lips and closed her eyes, remembering the dozen or so years after her change when she threw herself into music. She remembered the songs she sang in little bars and how she covered that one more than once. "Fly the ocean in a silver plane," she crooned quietly, perfectly in tune, "see the jungle when it's wet with rain.. Just remember till you're home again.." she placed her lips to Bella's temple and finished with, "You belong to me."
"God," the park ranger groaned, "can you be any more of a dream? Because you have to be a dream. You're just not real. So I have to be dreaming and I really don't want to wake up.. Your voice. Shit, Rosalie. Are you sure you're a vampire and not a siren?"
"I could probably register as both if I wanted to," Rosalie replied, casually. She thought about the men that threw themselves at her when she did perform. "What else did you ask?"
"Book," Bella reminded her, "and tv show."
"I haven't watched a lot of television in the last few decades," Rosalie admitted. "But I always enjoyed Charlie's Angels."
"You could be one of Charlie's Angels," the brunette told her, "or you could have been. Were you.. Were you alive in the 1970s?"
"Uh uh," Rosalie scolded her playfully, "that's not one of the agreed questions. But I would have loved to be. I think I could've taken Farrah Faucet's role."
"But It would have been kinda unfair to everyone else on that show," Bella mused, "Because no one would have even looked at Jacqueline Smith or Kate Jackson.. everyone would have just been swooning over you."
"I can't help who wants me," was Rosalie's casual reply, "but I am very, very, very picky about who I want and who I accept the advances of."
"Yeah? And who is that? Who do you want Rosalie?"
"Do you want me to tell you or should I bring my brother here and let him decipher my thoughts for you?" The vampire brought one hand up and began to softly stroke the back of Bella's neck, causing the park ranger to shiver. "Because I can save you time and tell you that all my thoughts are consumed with images of a tiny park ranger with really sexy dimples."
"Another park ranger?" Bella muttered sleepily, "do I know her?"
Rosalie smiled. "What's left? My favorite book?"
"Mmm."
"A Farewell to Arms," she said.
"Hemingway," Bella replied, approvingly, "fuck, could you be any more perfect for me?" She hid a yawn with her hand and then buried her face in Rosalie's neck.
The vampire didn't say anything else. She cradled the brunette until she fell asleep and then, bathed in the beautiful girl's warmth, more content than she'd ever been, the vampire closed her eyes and slipped into peaceful meditation.
