Isabella Swan
[Author's Note: So this one is going to probably be super long just because I want all of the party in one chapter. But there's some build up to that too. Stayyyy tuned and be patient, for Rosalie's sake. ;) Thank you for the detailed praise reviews lol I am obsessed. And sorry I posted this a little later today. I got distracted by a lot of Bacardi lol.]
Bella woke up suddenly, having gotten much too excited in her dream. Luckily Jessica and Leah were passed the fuck out from getting raucously drunk and Angela wore ear plugs. The brunette clamped her hand over her mouth. She had most definitely been moaning and this time, there was no Rosalie there to gently wake her and convince her to calm down. She sucked in a breath and pushed herself up on one arm. Jessica and Leah were in the bed and she and Angela were on pallets on the floor nearby. Everyone was asleep.
The dreams were all the same- Rosalie claiming her. She used her fingers and her mouth and.. she couldn't exactly see it but she could feel it. And laying there on her friend's apartment's bedroom floor.. she had to do something about it.
Bella closed her eyes. With a very careful and patient will, the brunette slowed her breathing and calmed herself down to the peak of relaxation. And then she began to fantasize about Rosalie. She thought about everything they'd done before- the touching, the cuddling, the forehead kisses.. Then she thought about what Rosalie had texted her.. her question.. Depends on where you want it, it had said, On you or in you. She slid her hand into her sweatpants.
It took only her imagination to get her half way there and when Bella's middle finger began to rub tight circles on a certain part of her that was throbbing for attention, she slipped away to somewhere else entirely. Rosalie had asked her if she was driving her crazy and truth be told, she very much was. Bella was so fucking hot for Rosalie that sometimes the blonde vampire could just say her name and she would get.. uncomfortably wet.
Her mind had drifted before in the forest and she'd considered relieving a little tension more than once. But with Alice and Edward's visits and her job and then Rosalie's presence at night.. she just hadn't gotten the chance to. But now.. in the early morning hours of her 21st birthday, Bella gave herself a small present and got herself off thinking of Rosalie Hale.
After 9 this morning, Leah and Jessica were still passed out so Bella and Angela had to figure out Jess' coffee pot by themselves. It was a sunshiny day and the two of them took their beverages out on the porch to drink. Angela was still overflowing with questions for Bella. They hadn't gotten to talk that much the night before because everyone had drunk too much to form actual coherent thoughts into words.
"Has she met Charlie?" Angela asked. "Does Charlie know?"
"Sort of and no. Charlie is friends with Rosalie's dad- Dr. Cullen- and Rosalie ran into him the other day at the diner. But no. I haven't told him yet. I'm not sure how to go about doing that."
"Coming out as gay?" Her friend asked. "I mean are you gay? Have you.. have you done this before?"
"Yes," Bella said. "I've known for years and I had a kind of girlfriend in college. We just didn't work out on account of the fact that she was a huge bitch. But I have zero doubts about my sexuality."
Angela nodded respectfully. "But how didn't Jess know in college? She was your roommate."
"Jess is sorta.. Oblivious."
They both laughed. Afterwards, Angela got the dresses she had brought to lend Bella and the brunette tried them on. One was a dark teal with lace sleeves and the other one was black with an autumnal floral design pattern. Both fit perfectly and they decided the floral one should be the one she wore to the party.
They made breakfast and eventually drug the other two girls out of bed. Everyone had things to do before the party so after Leah took some migraine medicine, everyone left and Leah took Bella back to Charlie's house. He'd left a note for her on the fridge. He told her happy birthday and that he was out for the day fishing with some buddies and would be home later that evening. He said to have fun at the party and that he would have a gift for her when she got back.
Bella spent some time straightening the house out of nerves. She was desperate to see or even hear from Rosalie again and after lunch, her nerves kinda snapped and she texted her. She'd initially tried to resist in order to give Rosalie some me time. She could never get enough of the blonde vampire, but what if Rosalie needed some personal time too? She made it to 5PM before she gave in and texted her.
"I don't like waking up without you.. please tell me I can fall asleep in your arms tonight."
Rosalie didn't make Bella wait long for a reply. "Once I have my arms around you again, I may not be able to let go."
Bella's heart swam. Rosalie was so unbelievably romantic. She was drop dead gorgeous and insanely sexy, but she was also sweet and romantic and gentle and kind. She was wonderful..
"Can you come hold me now? Before the party?"
"Impatient Girl. You only have to wait 3 hours."
"That's too long. I want to feel your arms right now..Please?"
"Are you begging for me Bella Swan?"
"Can I?"
"Soon." Then as a follow up, "Happy Birthday Bella."
There was a knock at Charlie's kitchen door then and Bella practically ran to get it. It turned out to only be Alice wearing a trench coat with the hood up, but she threw her arms around her anyway.
"Alice!" She exclaimed. "How did you find me?"
"It was extremely easy Bella," she said, "Rosalie and Edward and I have memorized your scent in case we ever need to find you." She squeezed her in return, excitedly.
"I'm so glad to see you!" Bella expressed, stepping aside to let Alice inside. "I'm going stir crazy. I was considering taking my old truck out for a drive just to keep from losing my mind."
"I'm glad to see you too, Bella," Alice expressed, following the brunette into the living room and then removing her hat and coat to reveal a fashionable party dress. "Happy birthday! I'm here to help you get ready for the party! And to give you something from Edward and I-" she sat down a large tote bag on the couch and pulled out a box wrapped in black paper with a lace pattern. It was clear that everything had been planned to match.
"You didn't have to get me anything," Bella insisted.
"I know that, Bella," Alice replied. "Now open it."
Inside the box was a folded up navy tee shirt made out of the softest material Bella had ever felt. She took it out and immediately recognized the image on the front- a set of eyes with glasses- and the quote on the back "The exhilarating ripple of her voice was a wild tonic in the rain." It was from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby. She was incredibly touched and looked up at Alice in admiration.
"This is amazing, Alice."
"I hoped you'd like it," the vampire replied, cheerfully. "It's strange not being able to see your reaction before. But anyways, I thought you could wear it around your tower. I got it a little big so that it would be comfortable and it's made of recycled materials so that's why it's so soft." She smiled. "And the quote.. You remember when we discussed The Great Gatsby together Bella?" The brunette nodded. "I told Rosalie about that and when I mentioned the novel she immediately said that quote. She told me it made her think of you." Her eyes were dreamy talking about it. "It's all so romantic. You aren't Daisy Buchanan of course, but Rose is so Gatsby.. and to see her get a happy ending.." She sighed and then shrugged, perhaps to smooth the intensity of the conversation.
Bella's heart was in her throat again. "She's.. she's read The Great Gatsby?" She was suddenly desperate to know more about Rosalie.
"A few dozen times at this point," Alice revealed. Her eyebrows pinched then and she said, "My goodness. Has Rosalie not told you that either?" She shook her head in annoyance.
"Told me what?"
"Rosalie loves to read. When she's not partying or spending time with you, she's reading. She has an amazingly impressive collection of first edition classic novels ." She laughed at the park ranger's expression and then she said, "You have more in common than you think."
They went upstairs and Bella showed Alice the dress she'd chosen to wear to the party and Alice told her it was the perfect choice. Then, sitting her bag on the bed, she removed several items- make up bags and curling irons and hair products.
"I think you are absolutely gorgeous as is, but I thought maybe for tonight you would like a little makeover?"
Bella knew how to do make up but being a field operative park ranger she hadn't used any in months. She was more than excited to doll herself up again. Especially for Rosalie.
But Alice didn't put a lot of makeup on Bella, stating that the brunette's skin was already flawless. She curled her brown hair and added a serum that made it shine. Finally Bella put on some black strappy heels she had in the back of her closet and modeled for Alice.
"What do you think? Am I worthy of being on Rosalie's arm?"
Alice scoffed at her. "Bella," she said, "Rosalie is lucky to have you. You're gorgeous and she knows it."
Bella didn't have a chance to argue with Alice because the doorbell rang downstairs.
"That will be Edward," Alice said, happily. "He's bringing me my dress and then taking us to the party. Are you excited Bella?"
Bella was anxious more than excited but she said yes. When Alice had changed and fixed her make up, they all got into Edward's silver Volvo. It was a nice car too but it wasn't a Bugatti. The entire way there, Bella worked on her breathing. She had seen Rosalie the night before at Jess' apartment but she was absolutely desperate to see her again. The closer they got to the Radisson, the more wound up she became, until they pulled in and Edward helped her out of the car and she felt like a bomb with a lit fuse.
"I think everyone's already here," Alice said, hooking her arm with Bella's. "And Rosalie is waiting for you."
The hotel was incredibly tall and impressive. It was a round building with probably at least twenty floors. Edward held the door open for her and the second the brunette was inside, she felt anticipation begin to boil over the edges. There was an actual bouncer outside of the ballroom and he checked to make sure they were on the list, congratulated Bella on her birthday and unhooked a rope to let them in. And so, with her chin slightly lifted, Bella walked into her party and felt her jaw drop.
The entire place had been decorated in black and gold and the interior held the colors perfectly. The floors were already black wood and the walls too, so the golden tinsel and table decorations were a nice pop. There was a balloon arch on one wall too, and lit candles on every table, flickering romantically. But it was anything but calm. Everyone was dancing and drinking and having a good time and when they turned and saw Bella, everyone waved at her. She saw Jess and Mike, though they were standing a few feet away from each other, Angela and Eric, Leah, Jacob, Quille, Embry, Sam, Sam's girlfriend Emily and at least a dozen other friends that Bella knew from the Rez, Forks High, or SU. Just not Rosalie. Not yet. But everyone looked happy to see her and Alice showed her a table on one wall that was overflowing with gifts.
"You did all this?" she asked the vampire with the pixie-cut.
"Some of it. Rosalie did most of it." She squeezed Bella's hand. "Happy birthday Bella!" She put her hand on Bella's lower back and edged her into the party and it all just began. 90s r&b hits were playing out of speakers all around her, and the lights were low and everyone seemed just a little tipsy already. Bella drifted around greeting her guests and getting excessive compliments on her appearance. Jess and Ang and Leah were all blown away by the decor. In all honesty, so was Bella. She'd never attended something so nice. It reminded her of Forks High prom, though the decor was a hundred times less cheesy. She was standing by the balloon arch sort of in awe when Jake appeared in front of her in a pair of khakis and a button up shirt half tucked in.
"Happy Birthday Bella!" he shouted excitedly, "This party is great!" He had a beer in his big beefy hand, even though he was barely 19. He chugged it for a second and then said to her, "Who paid for this, Bells? The money they had to have dropped just to rent this room. And the open bar.." He nodded in appreciation.
"The Cullens paid for it," Bella replied, her eyes constantly scanning the room for any sign of her blonde.
Jake's face screwed up into inquisition. "The.. Cullens? Isn't that the name of the new doctor in town that everyone loves?"
"Yes," Bella said.
"The one that is good friends with your dad?"
"Yes. That's the one."
"He has a family?" Jake wanted to know.
Bella still wasn't looking at him. "A wife," she said, "a son, his son's wife and.. A daughter."
"Son's wife? How old are they? The doctor looks super young."
"Um," Bella said, "Edward and Alice are, uh, eighteen? Nineteen?" She had no idea if she was right and technically she wasn't actually right anyways. They were probably closer to one hundred or something. "Something like that," she said. "And Rosalie is.. 21."
"So he had them when he was 5?" Jake asked, shaking his head and then finishing his beer. "What're they doing throwing you a party anyway?"
Bella finally looked at him. "Well," she began, not at all sure how to begin this conversation with the guy that had been crushing on her for years, "The thing is.."
But as it turned out, she didn't have to explain anything. At least not verbally. Jake's jaw dropped and his eyebrows lifted and Bella knew right away who was there.
She turned in time to see the French doors along the back wall close behind the most beautiful woman in the world. Rosalie's dress was almost iridescent, the colors shifting between a very pale green and a beautiful golden. Her hair was pulled half up and the heels she'd paired with her dress made her legs look longer than usual. She was an absolute dream.
"I'm sorry," Jake said, "but who is that?" He crushed his beer can in his hand and forced his mouth to close.
Their eyes met and Bella's heart began to race, her stomach did a dozen flips and that same magnetism she felt every time she was around her began to grow stronger. Rosalie drifted elegantly across the room and finally came to a stop right in front of her.
"There's my birthday girl," she said in the same seductive purr that drove Bella wild. She leaned forward, placed a cool kiss on Bella's cheek and hovered at her ear for a moment to add, "Dance with me. I want to feel you pressed against me."
Bella forgot all about the party decor and all her guests and the huge table of presents and she gave her hands to Rosalie and let her drag her onto the dance floor. One of her favorite Janet Jackson songs began to play and Rosalie pulled her against her and they began to move together. Bella was without words for a long time, as the blonde vampire led her around, one hand in hers, the other on her waist.
It was about half way through the song when she leaned into Bella's ear and purred, "You are so beautiful tonight, Little Bell."
"Not as beautiful as you are right now," the brunette countered. When Rosalie pulled to look at her, she went on. "That dress, your heels, your hair.. Your eyes."
"What about my eyes?" the vampire asked her, their gazes locked.
"They're smoldering," Bella said. "God you probably don't even realize you do that."
Rosalie brought one hand up and traced Bella's jaw with the tip of her finger. "Do what?"
"Look at me like that," the park ranger revealed. "It's like you can see inside of my soul. It's so-" she laughed in spite of herself, "hot."
Rosalie gave her a smug half smile and then narrowed her eyes in her usual faux-scowl. "I just see you for what you really are," she said, sternly.
"And what's that?"
"Mine."
Bella's heart thundered and Rosalie's eyes sparkled. She pulled Bella into a sort of Waltz pose and with Rosalie guiding her, they began to move, their feet following a specific pattern, Bella still melting under Rosalie's smoldering gaze.
"You see," the gorgeous blonde vampire told her, "this is how we danced when I was your age."
"When you were my age huh? And when exactly was that?" Bella didn't expect her to answer, but she enjoyed the intimate banter regardless.
But Rosalie's lips brushed against her ear and she finally gave Bella her answer. "About 90 years ago." She nuzzled very gently. "You see Bella. I really am.. Way too old for you."
"90 years," Bella repeated. "Then you were born in.."
"1915."
The brunette swallowed. "Right."
"Too much?" Rosalie asked, her voice serious. "Too big of a gap?"
"No," Bella's reply was forceful. "We're perfect together," she said, "I know we are."
"And why is that?"
"Because you and I have a lot in common."
One of Rosalie's perfectly sculpted eyebrows lifted. "Do we?"
"Yes," Bella insisted. "Alice told me about your book collection."
"Did she?" Rosalie tossed a glance towards someone that Bella assumed to be Alice. "She really loves revealing all my secrets, doesn't she?" She wasn't mad, just teasing. "What else did my annoying sister tell you?"
"That you love Gatsby as much as I do."
"Of course I do," Rosalie replied, "it's timeless." She spun Bella then, in and out and caught her easily, the park ranger's back against her chest. "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
Bella sighed. "Ugg, that's so sexy."
Rosalie laughed and brought her back around. "Me quoting literature to you is sexy?"
"Everything you do is sexy," Bella responded. "You're so unbelievably attractive and you're right here dancing with me. And look at you Rose. You're a model, you're a fucking goddess, and everyone in this place is looking at you."
"Are they?" The blonde let her thumb drag over Bella's bottom lip as she lifted the brunette's face to hers. "You see, you say everyone is looking at me but I barely even realize anyone is here at all.." She placed a soft kiss to the tip of Bella's nose and then added, her sweet intoxicating breath getting Bella high as she spoke, "All I see is you Bella Swan and how incredibly beautiful you are in that dress."
The smaller woman swooned. "Mmm," was her initial response, "when you compliment me..when you tell me I'm beautiful, I almost believe it."
Edward and Alice then appeared at Bella's side. "You should believe," the male vampire said, matter-of-fact. "Rosalie is very vain. She wouldn't say it if she didn't mean it."
"Edward is right," Alice added brightly. "You are the only person on this planet that Rosalie believes is more beautiful than she is.
The blonde vampire's eyes narrowed again, this time in annoyance. "Thank you both for your kind words," she offered.
"Of course!" Alice's tone was cheerful. "We hope you're enjoying your night."
"I am," Bella assured them while looking directly at Rosalie. "Thank you guys again. You know you didn't have to do this."
"We know," Alice said, waving her hand to dismiss Bella's worry. "It was nearly all Rosalie anyway, I promise. Wait until you see the garden." She winked.
"Garden?"
Without another word to the other two vampires, the blonde began to lead her away again. "Come with me," Rosalie prompted, "I want to show you something."
She took Bella to the door she'd come from earlier and another bouncer held it open for them. He nodded in Rosalie's direction and Bella realized that wherever they were going was just for them. And when she stepped out into the attached garden courtyard, she gasped, both hands going to her mouth.
"Ohmygod," she hissed, "this is.. You did this?" She spun around trying to take it all in. They were in a covered garden with the moonlight streaming in through the glass roof, fairy lights strung throughout and the most beautiful assortment of flowers and plants she'd ever seen. A round fountain sat in the middle of the area bubbling quietly.
"I had it done," the vampire said, one hand on the small of Bella's back, the other reaching over to clasp Bella's hand. "Do you like it?"
"I love it. This is the nicest thing that anyone has ever done for me."
"Well you deserve it." The vampire took her to a spot at the end of the garden that was directly beneath the moon. "Do you want your birthday presents now?"
"Rosalie," Bella said, "I said not to get me anything. That all I needed was an evening with you."
"Well I know you said that," the vampire replied, cooly, "but I didn't listen. Ready for gift one?"
"The garden isn't gift one?"
"No Little Bell," Rosalie shook her head gently, "it isn't." She reached into the front of her dress then, between her breasts, and removed a tiny golden pouch, which she handed to Bella.
"What is it?" the smaller woman asked, holding it delicately. She untied the tiny black cord and poured it carefully into her hand. A very sparkly necklace slid out in her palm and her eyes widened with shock. "Rosalie.."
"It's a locket," the vampire explained. "I wanted to get you a ring or a bracelet but your job is-" she scrunched up her nose and then smiled teasingly. "A necklace is a better idea. You can wear this tucked into the collar of your shirt."
"It's perfect," the brunette gushed, looking it over, touching the engraved patterns on the front of the golden heart. She held it up and let it glimmer in the moonlight. "Will you put it on for me?"
"Yes."
Rosalie stepped behind Bella and fastened the necklace around the brunette's neck. She smoothed the chain gingerly along Bella's throat. "The gold looks amazing against your skin.."
"Gold?" Bella asked.
"The chain and the locket are both 24 karat gold."
Bella turned around in a hurry. "Rosalie. I can't wear this! What if I lose it?"
"Then I'll get you another one," the vampire replied without hesitation. "Open it."
With fumbling fingers, the park ranger opened the locket and lifted it to look inside. There, in the border of gold was the embossed image of a rose wrapped around a bell. Immediately her eyes began to fill with tears.
"Ohmygod.." She blinked and a single tear ran down her cheek.
Rosalie caught it with her fingertip. "No crying Beautiful Girl," she said, leaning in to her, "Ready for gift number two?"
Bella's eyebrows were furrowed. "No," she said, "I'm not. Not if this one cost anything. You already spent so much money on me and-"
Rosalie shook her head. "No. This one didn't cost a thing, I promise you." She lifted one hand and placed it softly on the smaller woman's jaw. And then, in a whisper Rosalie asked Bella, "Is it okay if I kiss you now?"
Bella's breath was suddenly heavier. "Yes," she nodded. "Please."
The magnetism was palpable as they came together, and finally, after what had seemed like an eternity of teasing, the blonde vampire pressed her cool lips very softly to Bella's. The kiss was gentle and sweet, but it penetrated the very core of Bella's desires and she wrapped her arms around Rosalie's neck and kissed her back, deeper. Her heart swelled in her chest and her entire body began to ache for attention and so she pressed herself to Rosalie and kissed her with a fervor. Rosalie's hands slid down Bella's neck, to her shoulders, to her arms, to her hips. She gripped somewhat firmly and held Bella close to her. They kissed again and again and then, after a few moments, unable to hold back anymore, Bella began to push against Rosalie's lip with her tongue.
The vampire pulled back, one hand now caressing Bella's cheek. "Eager, aren't you?" she asked, her voice deeper, more of a growl than usual. Her eyes were still gorgeous and golden, but somehow still dark with desire.
"I want to make out with you," Bella said, her eyes pleading.
"I want to make out with you too," Rosalie replied, nodding, "believe me I do. But-"
"But," Bella groaned. "It's my birthday."
A smile crossed the blonde's lips. "Yes, yes it's your birthday, Spoiled Girl, and you deserve every single thing you want." She kissed her again, barely brushing their lips together. "And I promise you that I'm going to give you every single one of those things. But.. the second your tongue is in my mouth, my hands are going to be all over you." Bella shuddered and Rosalie's lip twitched. "I'm not sure how much control I'm going to have, Babydoll. I want you alone. I want you all to myself."
All the brunette park ranger could do was nod and mouth, "Okay."
"Tonight," Rosalie said and the word rang like a gong in the human's mind. "I'm going to spoil you tonight, Birthday Girl, you just have to-" She dipped, put her lips to Bella's throat and began to kiss her there, eventually kissing up to Bella's ear and biting gently at her earlobe. The brunette was clearly sighing but the vampire eventually pulled back, a smirk on her lips. "Stay for an hour," she pulled at her earlobe with her lips and Bella whimpered, "introduce me to all of your friends and open your presents." She paused, and Bella felt the tip of the vampire's tongue trace the length of her neck. She shuddered expressively, weak and more worked up than ever before.
"And then what?" Bella Swan asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"And then," Rosalie told her, "I'll show you how well I've been practicing.."
