You kiss me crazy at my apartment door. I can't breathe, and I don't want to if it means ending this. I can feel how much you want me pressing between us, and I ask if you want to come inside, but you shake your head and take a step back.
My swollen lips tingle, making me crave your mouth. Your rejection stings, but you're quick to explain yourself.
"We shouldn't rush this, Bella. This won't be a one-time thing. At least, not on my part. You're too important for that."
I nod. Why do you have to be so level-headed? And why do you have to say things like that? "You're important to me, too." I breathe. It's true. I think I've been falling for you since the day we met.
With a sly smile, you tug the end of my ponytail. "I want to take you out before Friday."
"I'd really like that."
You peck my lips twice and leave me standing at my front door, promising to call me this week.
I go straight to my bedroom and fall onto the bed, squealing into a pillow so the neighbors don't call the cops on me. My legs kick excitedly. You've turned me into one of those girls I used to make fun of. I'm so full of happiness and yearning that I feel like I'm going to explode. And technically, you haven't even done anything yet.
I have a feeling you're going to rock my world, Edward Masen, and honestly, I can't wait.
