[Salvatore Boarding House]
Stefan got Bella inside and Damon went to her immediately, going to hold her, but he stopped himself, standing in front of Bella and Stefan.
"Are you okay?" Damon asked, his eyes flashing to Stefan's.
Bella was weak, weaker than she cared to admit, but she looked up at Damon. "Damon…. I'm not."
Stefan swallowed. "Give her your blood. She needs it."
Damon looked at Bella, his eyes were full of concern and worry, but he bit his wrist and the blood pooled there and he gave her his wrist, she took it, her hands shaking a little, before she moved her mouth over his wrist, taking his blood.
Stefan looked down, knowing that this was something he would never be able to do. Bella didn't want that from him and now he would give her up to his brother because he finally saw his brother as his brother and not his enemy. He knew that Bella loved Damon and he was going to accept that fate.
Bella felt better now, and she pulled away, wiping her mouth a little. "Thank you." She murmured quietly.
Stefan cleared his throat. "Um. I'm going to go up to my room, give you two some time alone." He said and started to turn away.
"Wait." Bella said, and Stefan looked back at her. "Thank you."
Stefan smiled a little. "I just want you to be happy, so please don't worry about me."
"I will always worry." Bella admitted.
Damon was confused. "Bella… what's going on?"
Stefan looked at his brother. "She chose you brother." He said with a nod. "Don't fuck it up." He said and then left the room.
Damon looked at Bella, his blue eyes smoldering to look at when she stared back at him. "You mean it… you want to be with me. You're not… just telling me what I want to hear."
"Damon, I love you." Bella said, tilting her chin up, confident in that choice. "I talked to Stefan… I wanted to fight it at first… the connection and I would be lying if I said I didn't have feelings for Stefan on some level, but-"
Damon cut her off, his mouth covering hers, kissing her. He held her to him, as she clutched the front of his shirt. Their tongues prodded each other and it's all he needed, was to hear her tell him that she loved him. It was a miracle to him. He managed to find a happiness he didn't even know he was looking for. When the kiss broke, he leaned his forehead against hers. "I love you…" he murmured.
Bella smiled a bit. "I know."
"I never wanted to hurt anyone." Damon said, leaning back to look at her. "Maybe at first, but… I just got Stefan back… I don't want this to hurt him."
"I know."
Damon took her hands in his, his thumb rubbing over the back of her hand. "It's selfish of me to keep you to myself."
"It's not… love isn't selfish, Damon."
Damon swallowed. "What if you grow tired of me? I'm not a good guy, Bella. I'm not this perfect hero. Stefan is-"
"You are a good guy. Damon, when will you stop putting so much blame on yourself and realize that you are this amazing person. It doesn't matter what is in the past, it's how you handle your future. That's what's next. Don't get hung up on everything else." Bella said, cupping his face with her hand.
Damon shook his head a little. "He's hurting Bella…" He murmured.
"I know and I didn't want it to happen this way. I'm afraid that…"
"I can walk away Bella. I've lived long enough on this Earth; I want him to be happy and you and-"
"Don't talk like that." Bella said, frowning. "I want to be with you Damon. I choose you and will choose you again. Just… love me. Take me upstairs and love me."
Damon stared at her, his eyes searching for her hesitancy. Searching for any reason to validate his feelings of being the villain in this story. She was confident and he saw that. He bent, picking her up in his arms and carried her, taking her up the stairs to his room. He shut the door and then went to his bed, setting her down gently. Her hands pulled her shirt up over her head and he watched as she got naked. His eyes raked over her body, before he undressed himself. This time when he entered her, he knew it was for love. For both of them, something that they both needed. The outpouring passion was great, consuming them with every thrust of their hips.
Bella's mouth collided with his as he moved inside her, his hard cock pushing into her depths and sending her over the edge of her pleasure waterfall. She shuddered under him as he picked up his pace, pushing as deep as he could before he was erupting, locked deep inside. They both gasped and moaned as they climaxed, his mouth seeking hers again, for a slow passionate kiss.
After a few moments, Damon pulled away, rolling in the sheets before pulling her against him. She lay her head on his chest, content with life right now. It's all she could think about now, is life with Damon. She made a choice and to her, that choice was the best choice she could have made. She was living happy or that was the promise she made herself and the silent vow she made to her mother. She didn't want to lose this feeling of pure happiness and she hoped that Stefan found his own way soon.
Soon, she was sleeping, even with Damon's blood running through her veins, the events of the day were not only exhausting physically, but it was mentally. When her body relaxed against his fully, he waited a few long moments, just laying there thinking about everything. How Bella sacrificed a lot to protect the people she cared about. Everything about her was just this pure light of joy and he was afraid he would taint her too much. But he couldn't walk away, not now. Not after everything. Not only because of Bella, but because he felt like Stefan would need him now. More than ever. He sighed quietly to himself, before he slid from the bed and came downstairs. He fixed himself bourbon, standing there, quietly drinking. He was alone with his thoughts, until he looked up, Stefan standing there.
Stefan put his hands in his pockets. "Um. How is she?"
"She's sleeping." Damon said and poured bourbon for his brother now. And handed it to him.
Stefan accepted it, bring it to his lips and taking a long drink. "The spell was scary. I thought she wasn't going to make it through, but then, she fought hard and she survived." He explained.
Damon nodded. 'Yeah. She's strong… stronger than I'll ever be." He murmured, looking down at the swirling dark amber liquid.
Stefan finished his bourbon and set the glass down. "That she is. Don't mess things up with her." He suddenly said.
"I know you're hurting." e
"Yes, but I'll get over it. Bella reminded me of something tonight."
"What was that?"
"That finding my own moment is important. Yes, I love her. Yes, my heart hurts, but it'll heal. This isn't the end for me. I can live without her being by my side as something destined to be mine forever. Bella isn't something to take or give. She's her own person and she's very strong willed. I promised her that I would be okay and that I wouldn't leave." Stefan explained. "I want to keep growing our bond, Damon. I want to be brothers again and that's really important to me. Just as important as it is to Bella, if not more."
Damon nodded, understanding his brother. "Thank you."
"It's not something you should thank me for. It's true love, you and her. Like I said, don't fuck it up." He offered a small smile.
Damon smiled back. "I don't plan on it." He said and then they were hugging, the two brothers.
They started off enemies when they both came to Mystic Falls, and now, they were the brothers they were meant to be. All thanks to Bella.
