Ginny slammed her radio off, sighing as she stared in the mirror, She smoothed out her checked dress and sighed. She took in a deep breath and tried to calm down, it would do no use to turn up to her interview agitated. So, she smoothed her dress one last time and ran downstairs, kissing her mum goodbye.
Brooms and Co was an impressive building if Ginny had even seen one. It was 120 stories and towered over the buildings below. Ginny hated to admit it but it felt a little intimidating, still, she'd played as a Chaser in Infront of half a million people. A posh man in a suit shouldn't scare her. Only the closer she got to the interview room the more she realised it wasn't just a man in a posh suit. It was a handsome man in a posh suit that everyone in Great Britain should feel indebted to.
As she entered the building a bushy-haired woman appeared in front of her
"Can I help you miss?" Ginny gulped
"Uh... Yeah, I'm here for an interview!" she squeaked. The woman smiled at her warmly
"Ah yes, his 10.15 follow me please" as Ginny followed her the bushy-haired woman introduced herself as Hermione. The assistant. As they approached the door Ginny could hear two voices from inside.
"Seriously, why are you marketing towards girls with all the facts and figures?"
"Maybe because girls want to learn about the facts and figures-"
"Oh, come on-" Hermione knocked on the door and two men spun around, Ginny stilled as she saw a blonde-haired boy she hadn't seen since high school. Draco Malfoy, the man eyed her up and down as the other man waved her in.
"You're 10.15 Sir," Hermione said
"Oh yes, terribly sorry Hermione. The meeting ran over as per usual. I'll take it from here, you're free to run the company as per usual" Hermione scoffed and nodded before leaving. Ginny stared after her, feeling the tension.
"Ah, miss Weasley perhaps you can answer my question. Mr Malfoy here thinks girls don't want to hear about the science and statistics behind a broom, what do you think?" Ginny looked between them but before she had a chance to answer Malfoy interrupted her.
"You're really going to ask the help?" he scoffed. Ginny felt anger rise through her body a Malfoys dismissal.
"Actually, I think you'll find this isn't the 1950s and girls nowadays are more into the why things work instead of everything being wrapped up in a bow because egotistical men can't look past their noses to see us as equals." Ginny glared at Malfoy, she knew him from school and it seemed like he hadn't changed. The other man in the room laughed
"Well Miss Weasley has said what everyone was thinking, Now I expect a better plan on my desk tomorrow
"But-"
"Tomorrow Malfoy, you are dismissed!" Draco scowled at his boss and stormed out of the room.
Ginny turned to the green-eyed man. She went to apologise but he held up his hand
"You're hired," he said. Ginny stopped, stunned.
"I'm what?" she asked, the man laughed
"Hired Miss Weasley, unless, of course, you have decided that you no longer want the position?" Ginny shook her head hurriedly.
"No, no, no of course I want the job!" she reassured him. He laughed
"I wouldn't be so quick to agree Miss Weasley, just wait until you meet them" he then scribbled something down onto a piece of paper.
"Read that and memorise it, Miss Granger will escort you out and take that piece of paper ff you upon you leaving the premises. I expect you there at 6 pm sharp" Before Ginny could even say thank you Hermione entered the room and ushered her out.
"I shall ask you since my boss seems to forget such details, you are aware this is a live-in position, right?" Ginny nodded.
"And you are aware of the need for privacy and security surrounding both himself and his family?"
"Yes, of course. I have already sent you my credentials and police check."
"Yes of course, look I a going to be straight with you here Miss Weasley. I know we attended Hogwarts together and I am of course friends with your brother but my loyalties lie to the boss. You seem like a lovely girl and from what I remember in school you had a quick wit but he runs in different circles and I just want you to not be in over your head." Ginny sighed; she knew the job was unlike any other she had had but Quidditch always taught her to take chances.
"I'm aware I don't come from wealth but I'm not here for that." Hermione smiled at her and held her hand out for the slip of paper. Ginny handed it back to her but not before giving it one last glance.
Potter Manor
Underneath was an address and for the first time that day, Ginny began to feel like she was in over her head.
