@Yaw6113.

It's never annoying, but in case you wanted to know, for the time being Coordinator Ash is updated daily, while REN's Revived logs is updated twice a week.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Trap Ash, hope you check out my other works as well.

@Mario 64

So part of the reason that I aged Ash up in this story is because both Brock and Misty aren't returning in a main character capacity, I do plan on having the two show up later on, but Ash is definitely taking the big brother role for this group now, and as for May, I plan on having her be a rival to Ash later on, so having her journey with him doesn't make much sense. The reason for having none of them in reality is to challenge myself. It's easy to write characters that are already there, but with someone like Brendan, we've never met his anime counterpart, only seen him in the beginning of two movies.

Today we find our hero's journeying through the lighter part of a forest, but they seem to have stopped, I wonder whats going on?

"Okay Ashton, what lesson do you have for me today?" Brendan asked as the two approached a lake bed.

"So I did a bit of reading before we left Petalburg, and you're going to need at least three Pokemon to challenge a gym properly." Ash said. "Meaning you'll need to catch more Pokemon."

"On top of training up Seedot and Mudkip, right?" Brendan asked.

"Exactly." Ash said. "Now you can take on gyms with less than the required amount of Pokemon, but it does put you at a disadvantage."

"So, what should I catch?" Brendan asked.

"Find something you think would make a good addition to your team, don't always try and plan it out ahead of time. I don't." Ash said.

"So, just anything." Brendan said walking off.

"Yeah, that's the idea." Ash said, not noticing. "Okay, let's see if all my time with Brock taught me anything about cooking."

With Brendan

"Alright guys, we're looking for someone new to join the team." Brendan said, not having noticed Seedot and Mudkip falling behind beforehand. "Maybe someone fast like Norman's Vigoroth was." Brendan said thinking back.

"Mud. Kip." Mudkip said sadly.

"Hey, don't be sad, you guys did great, Norman even told me it would be highly unlikely for me to win against him." Brendan said. "You'll get your chance to battle him again, I promise."

"Mud." Mudkip said, cheering up.

"How about you Seedot, you want to take another shot at him too, right?" Brendan asked. "Seedot?" Brendan said in confusion looking around for the grass type.

Back with Ash

"Okay, that looks good." Ash said, stirring the stew a bit. "How about some training while we wait?"

"Pika?" Pikachu said, wondering about the food.

"Don't worry, it needs time to cook, right? So for now we can work on our plan. While reading I saw that there were two phases to a contest, a battle round, and an appeal round." Ash said. "So how about we work on figuring out what to do for that."

"Pikachu." Pikachu said excitedly.

"Okay, lets try using Agility, and Thunder." Ash said.

A storm filled in the sky as Pikachu sped forward.

"Okay now, let's try and collect each bolt of electricity while you're running." Ash called out.

Pikachu ran through each bolt as it struck the ground, catching them with his tail each time trailing the electricity behind him.

"Okay now stop!" Ash said.

The bolts of electricity shot past Pikachu blowing up a few feet in front of him.

"That might just work." Ash said, pleased with himself.

"Pi." Pikachu said smugly.

"Hmm, I wonder about Surskit though." Ash said, holding the Pokeball. "I'm not even fully sure of what they can do."

Back with Brendan

"Seedot, where are you!?" Brendan asked, looking through a bush.

"Mudkip Mud!" Mudkip shouted.

'Tik tik tik tik.'

"What's that?" Brendan asked, rushing over to see Seedot being attacked by another Pokemon. "Seedot!" Brendan exclaimed. "Hey you Taillow, stop that!" Brendan shouted.

"Tai?" Taillow said, looking over at Brendan angrily.

"Mudkip use Mud Slap!"

Mudkip dug his hand into nearby soil, launching it at the Taillow, only for the flying type to evade it with ease.

"What? How did you dodge that?" Brendan said angrily. "Well, try dodging this, Mudkip use Tackle."

Mudkip collided with the Taillow, pinning it to the ground.

The Taillow launched it's beak at Mudkip, tossing the water type off of it.

"Mudkip use Tackle again!"

Mudkip launched at Taillow, only for the flying type to go higher into the air.

"Wait, Seedot, have you been storing the energy?" Brendan asked.

"Seed." Seedot said, struggling.

"Okay, I have a plan." Brendan said, picking up the grass type. "Mudkip use Tackle to draw it over that way." Brendan said, pointing towards a heavily brushed area.

Mudkip leapt into the air at Taillow as the bird dodged out of the way, heading right the way Brendan was planning.

"Now Seedot use Bide!" Brendan said, tossing the grass type into the path of Taillow.

Seedot slammed into Taillow releasing a huge burst of energy, sending the flying type into a tree while Seedot safely landed in a bush.

"Alright then. Now, Pokeball go!" Brendan exclaimed.

'Ding ding ding!'

"Alright! We caught a Taillow!" Brendan exclaimed excitedly. "Let's go show Ashton!" Brendan said, scooping up Mudkip and Seedot.

Back at the campsite

"Hey, welcome back. How'd it go?" Ash asked, seeing Brendan come back through the clearing.

"Great, my team is now three members full." Brendan said, holding up a Pokeball.

"Good to hear, and I just finished lunch." Ash said, pouring a purple slop into a bowl.

"And what is lunch?" Brendan asked in concern.

"It's stew, what else would it be." Ash said.

"I'm not sure stew is supposed to look like this." Brendan said worriedly.

"If you don't want it, you can just say so." Ash said.

"I don't want it." Brendan said, holding back the urge to barf.

"Fine. More for us." Ash said, sticking his spoon full of stew in his mouth.

"Ashton?" Brendan asked curiously.

"Nope, you had the right idea, it's bad." Ash said as he fell backwards.
