It's never a bother to enjoy a story and say you are enjoying it. Now I have said this several times, and despite my break for medical recovery the spiritual sequel to Trap Ash should still be coming in June-July. Please know that asking more will not get us there quicker, I have a certain story I need to tell before that happens.
Ash was walking around the festival with Jirachi in his arms, and Pikachu on his shoulder. He had wanted to find Diane, hopefully explained everything that had happened, and hoped she understood. Meanwhile Brendan has said he had some things to take care of, so they had parted ways shortly after breakfast.
"Any luck Pikachu?" Ash asked.
"Pi…". Pikachu said in defeat.
"Wait, look over there!" Ash exclaimed, seeing Diane off in the distance. "Diane wait up!" Ash said, rushing after her, but she kept going away from him.
With Brendan
"Alright Butler talk." Brendan said.
Oh, the great snitch wishes to see me." Butler said. "How exactly did you find out my affiliation?"
"I heard you talking on the phone about Petalburg Woods." Brendan said.
"So someone was there." Butler said, bemusingly. "But how did you escape, I would have heard or seen you running."
"That's what I want to know. You looked directly at me and didn't pay any mind." Brendan said.
"Heh." Butler chuckled.
"What's so funny?" Brendan asked.
"If what you say is true, that is ironic for a nonbeliever." Butler said with a cocky smile.
"I still don't get whats so funny." Brendan said.
"Don't worry, it was my first one as well." Butler said.
"Your first what!?" Brendan asked.
"Accidental magic." Butler said. "You Brendan, are a Wizard."
"Impossible, magic isn't real." Brendan said.
"Then how else do you explain, me not being able to see you?" Butler questioned.
"It's not possible, you're clearly more insane than I thought. We're done here." Brendan said.
"You can't run from who you are!" Butler said with a maniacal laugh.
Back with Ash
"Diane?" Ash asked, turning a corner, to see a group of armored vans rolling up. "No." Ash gasped, seeing Team Magma grunts pile out of them.
"Where is your Admin!" A woman demanded to Diane.
"His cover was blown." Diane said calmly.
"Unfortunate. You will report to me now." The woman said. "And the equipment?"
"In lockup." Diane said. "The package is with a trusting child however. Allow me to get it without backup, it will alert them."
"Oh, we aren't worried about subdelty anymore." The other woman said.
"We need to stop them." Ash said, realizing the terror that was about to be unleashed.
"Pi." Pikachu said in agreement.
Ash ran back to the heart of the city, looking for help from anyone he could trust.
"OOF!" Ash said, falling backwards.
"ASHTON!" Brendan exclaimed, as he realized who he bumped into.
"Brendan!" Ash exclaimed. "Am I glad to see you. We have a problem."
"You're telling me." Brendan said.
"Wait you know Team Magma gas backup here?"
"Wait, they do. Okay my thing can wait." Brendan said. "How much are we talking about?" Brendan asked.
"Too many for the two of us." Ash said. "We can't trust Diane either."
"Great." Brendan sighed.
"Hey you two!" A man's voice called out.
Ash and Brendan turned to see a man quickly coming towards them.
"Run?" Brendan asked.
"Run." Ash replied, as the two took off.
"Hey, stop!" The man shouted, chasing after them.
Ash and Brendan ran, until they found themselves face to face with Diane.
"Finally!" The man chasing them said, catching his breath.
"Ashton, Brendan, is everything okay?" Diane asked. "Why were you running?"
"That's what I want to know." The man said.
"Get away! We know you're with Team Magma!" Brendan exclaimed.
"Team Magma? No Steven Stone sent me to check on you two. I'm Drake of the Pokemon League!" The man said.
"Thanks for the distraction!" Diane said, before grabbing the sleeping Jirachi from Ash's arms before rushing off. "Salamence, stop her!" Drake said.
"You aren't the only one with one of those. Salamence come out as well!" Diane said, tossing one of Butler's Pokeballs out.
"Salamence, use Rock Slide!" Drake said, as Butler's Salamence was buried beneath the rocks.
"Pikachu rescue Jirachi!" Ash shouted.
"Pi!" Pikachu exclaimed, leaping off of Ash's shoulder, and slamming into Diane's back, causing her to fall.
Brendan rushed over, picking up Jirachi before they fell to the ground.
"Do you really think that matters!" Diane said, there's hundreds of us, and only three of you! And I can take all of you out like Butler should have a while back."
"Salamence stop her!" Drake said.
Salamence let loose a jet stream of flames, engulfing the area around Diane as a small explosion went off.
"Come with me quickly, I'll keep you safe." Drake said.
"How do we know we can trust you?" Ash asked.
"Here." Drake said, returning Salamence to it's Pokeball, and handing it along with four others to Ash. "Trust me now."
"Let's go." Brendan said, hearing more people coming towards them.
At a boat by the docks
"When word got out that a Team Magma admin had been arrested, I was sent here as the closest member of the Pokemon League to pick them up." Drake said.
"But you weren't expecting more members to show up." Brendan pointed out.
"Even so, why were you chasing us?" Ash asked.
"When Steven saw your names, he said and I quote. "I know those two boys, go and check on them while you're there." Drake said. "I didn't realize you two would be so paranoid right now."
"Well, we still have the problem of Team Magma." Brendan said.
"No we, just me." Drake said.
"I hate to say it but they want Jirachi, and they only trust me." Ash pointed out.
"Fine, then we need to set a trap." Drake said.
Later that day, Ash was walking around with Pikachu and Jirachi, keeping an eye out for any members of Team Magma.
"There he is!" A voice called out as three grunts rushed towards Ash.
"And now I run." Ash said, taking off in the direction Drake was waiting.
"The package is heading towards Main Street!" A Magma Grunt said over a radio, before chasing Ash.
Brendan counted from above, thirty grunts were following Ash, this was going according to plan. They weren't sure on how many exactly there were, but the more they could stop the better.
Back on the ground Ash 'accidentally ran into a dead end as the grunts filled the alleyway.
"We've got you cornered kid, give us the package." The lead grunt said.
"Not exactly." Ash said. "Look behind you."
Behind the group was a large group of police officers led by Drake. Realizing they were outmatched, the grunts did their best to scatter.
"Well you two, I suppose congratulations are in order, with your help we dealt a massive blow to Team Magma, taking in one of their admins and thirty of their grunt workers." Drake said.
"What about Diane?" Brendan asked.
"Her body was gone by the time local enforcement got there." Drake said. "I doubt she could have survived though."
"Hey Drake, thanks for checking on us, we couldn't have done this without you." Ash apologized.
"Not a problem, you two enjoy the rest of the festival, and take care of that Jirachi. I doubt Team Magma are the last ones that will be looking for him." Drake said.
"Yes sir." Ash and Brendan said.
Elsewhere
"It's a good thing I found you when I did." The female Magma Admin said. "You still have a job to complete, after all you are the only one who can activate the machine Diane."
Elsewhere elsewhere
"Finally the Millenium Festival! With its wish granting powers I will further my goal!" A man dressed in green said with a laugh.
Authors Note:
Magic. Yes, magic. I don't know, I just thought it would be a fun idea to add in, I don't plan on using it too much, but with how many magic using characters there are in Pokemon, like 10 by the way, I figured it wasn't out of possibility for a main character to be able to do it, so Brendan has a bit of magic, which is different from aura in this scenario.
