Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Lone Wolf. Enjoy the 2200-Word chapter. I don't own Warhammer, Games Workshop, and a few others do.
(Epsilon Indi System)
Over a dozen, CCS-Class Class Cruisers and 2 of them slowly started to descend on the new planet. Aboard 2 of these warships were a pair of creatures covered in fur and clad in crimson armor.
"Send in the first troops. Another fresh planet for the Warmaster means another promotion at the end of the day." One of them spoke as he crossed his arms. "New or old? The galaxy belongs to the Banished empire." He stated to his subordinate.
(Research and development world Sedrade)
Styrvin watched that the tide of the Orks had been sent backward as they backed down. The young marine knew that they didn't do it because they were smart enough to retreat. They simply wanted to attack more properly.
The boisterous marines watched the dozens of soldiers retreat as he rested his ax across his shoulders. He reached up towards his helmet and peeled it from his skull while he tapped his fingers on his helmet. He frowned to himself as one of his packs slowly approached him.
"Never known the Xenos to back down from a fight." Styrvin heard as he rolled his eyes.
"Well, their fools more than anything," Styrvin stated while he sighed. "How many did you slay now? I ripped 60 apart, they're as hungry as the hounds." Styrvin added as he cleaned off his armor.
Both wolves sniffed the air as something passed overhead. Neither knew what it was, but the craft didn't seem at all like it had been similar to an imperial craft. It looked similar to a teardrop and coasted through space in a way that seemed sluggish.
More soon started to slowly coast downwards. Both soldiers watched as the craft slowly started to ground themselves.
"What is that? More Ork reinforcements?" He heard as he blinked. "Those don't look like Landas. They're too pretty looking." He also heard while he sighed to himself.
Styrvin slowly started to march in their direction while he smirked. More enemies for him to fight, what else would a Space Wolf ask for? He cleared his throat and started to march towards their location while he hung his head and sighed to himself.
He watched a few wolves march towards his location as well. They wanted more battle and the few Grey Hunters in the company were the only thing that held them back.
"My lord?" They heard from one of their commanders. "We've had much craft headed to the planet. They don't seem like Ork craft. 2 larger warships are keeping their distance and they don't seem like Kill Kroozers." Their Wolf Lord heard to which they frowned.
New enemies? Eldar? Traitor forces? Perhaps a Space Hulk? Whatever it was? They were coming in force when it came down to it.
"Why shouldn't we chase them?" Styrvin asked while he frowned to himself. "The damned Orks would come back with reinforcements. They swarm more than a pack of Tyranids." Styrvin added as he sighed.
The wolves started to regroup as they prepared for another round of combat. They stared into the sky while they prepared for more combat with the enemy. They wanted nothing more than to be unlashed onto their enemy while all waited for the signal to attack once more.
"Because as stupid as they are? They're still dangerous." They heard as they frowned to themselves. "We come back to camp and wait for them. There are plenty of dozens of reinforcements and secondly? We damn well don't fight them without being ready." Styrvin heard as he rolled his eye.
"Spoken as if you're not a Firehowler," Styrvin stated while he frowned to himself. "They're swarming everything in the area. We should be chasing them before they regroup into one group which they charge us over and over again." Styrvin added before he rested his ax on his shoulder.
He frowned to himself with interest as he started to think of how best to smash through their forces. Many Orks charged them.
There were far worse things than this. Styrvin raised his power ax with a roar that almost seemed muffled by his helmet as he charged forward. He was not aware the planet had changed.
And he didn't entirely concern himself with that when it came down to it. This was nothing different from hunting on Fenris.
He put a bolter shot into the head of the first Ork before he slammed into the second with a lowered shoulder. He punched the Ork in the skill and threw him to the side with a chuckle to himself as he slammed another into a wall and smashed them with a fist.
He didn't hear the roars. The roars seemed to match there's in pitch while he blinked to himself. He stayed on his feet despite their best efforts to throw him off.
It was then he was greeted by another Xeno which seemed to swing a giant hammer at him which he barely rolled away from. This creature was clad in crimson and silver armor. It seemed as tall as him and it hefted a metal hammer which seemed to distort gravity when it collided with the ground while he tilted his head. The creature had a beard and braids which were styled similarly to him and his brothers.
He paused to finish off the last Ork with a simple slash to their head before the new enemy seemed to raise its ax. Styrvin spun his axe and faced the new enemy with his weapons ready.
"You're a big one, aren't you?" Styrvin asked with a raised eyebrow.
The creature roared and lunged forward as did Styrvin met them with his axe ready. He smiled to himself as his weapon met that of his enemy's.
There was a shockwave that made his frame jolt as they ground their weapons into the other. He felt himself be forced back a step. They were strong and skilled, more than the Orks who fought with reckless abandon.
"Heh," Styrvin stated before he watched sparks fly from their weapons.
He slammed his helm into theirs which sent them backward. Their armor sparked and the monster placed a hand on their temples. He rolled his weapon and grunted in exertion. They were a challenge, and the young wolf was rather interested in what this posed.
The alien soldier seemed to discard his safety and attack with more reckless abandon as they charged forward once more. The Blood Claw chuckled as he seemed to be ready to battle once more.
Did they want a battle so badly? He'd gladly greet them in the clash of combat that seemed to be something both were familiar at. The fact that they showed no fear or hesitation at challenging Astartes told him a few things which further helped him battle with more than sheer reckless abandon.
They were not an Ork or any of the Xeno soldiers which seemed to be ripping into their galaxy.
Their weapon seemed to be made of metals that he wasn't familiar with. It might have simply been the fact that he was a Blood Claw and not one of the Grey Hunters, but he didn't know a melee weapon besides a shock hammer that was similar to theirs.
They were a warrior who seemed to be rather adept at combat with their weapon. They wielded it with the skill of someone who had been a warrior for many years. Their strength was also impressive for a warrior which seemed a little different than an Ork in stature.
He dodged another swing before slamming his axe into their shoulder as sparks flew from it. They also seemed to hold a shield which offered some additional protection alongside their armor. It interested him and made the battle more of a unique topic. He was not going to back down from this battle either way. He was not going to give him any amount of ground in combat.
He frowned to himself and simply engaged the enemy as any soldier of his chapter would. He was rather interested in what had brought this monster to this planet. The young marine swung his ax and met his hammer in battle before more sparks flew from their weapons. He pressed his weapon forward slowly.
'Heh. They are strong. Their no Ork.' Styrvin stated while he continued to combat the monster.
He was knocked back a few steps by blocking his hammer. The monster roared and charged him a second time towards the Space Marine. He dodged a second swing which had displaced stone and dirt from the ground while he smashed his ax into the enemy's stomach which sent a roar of pain before he spun around and slammed his ax into their neck. He tugged and then rolled his eyes.
The alien soldier roared and then slowly collapsed into a pile on the ground. He looked at the enemy while he frowned before starting to study it for a second once more.
"What was this thing?" Styrvin asked while he frowned to himself. "It had a giant hammer and yet it couldn't swing it worth a damn," Styrvin added while he heard more gunfire which started to die down for a moment.
"Hmm. Brother?" Styrvin asked before he raised his fingers to his helmeted head. "I have slain a Xeno warrior. It doesn't appear to seem like an Ork or anything we've killed in the galaxy. Had a giant hammer and looks like a walking ape." Styrvin added as he checked his surroundings.
"We know. There's some of them here." Styrvin heard over his Vox-Caster. "They are engaging some of the Orks as well. Greenskins seem entirely thrown off by it. Brother? Come back to base, we need to learn what in the damn name of the Allfather are these things?" Styrvin heard while he sighed to himself
"Permission to drag one of the beasts to camp?" Styrvin asked while he raised his eyebrow.
"Do it so we can find what these beasts are." Styrvin heard as he placed his ax on his side. "Then again? We have plenty of those already." Styrvin stated while he rolled his eyes.
He hefted the alien soldier across his back with one arm and grabbed their hammer with his other. He almost wished that there were more of these soldiers to be battled. His frame seemed to ache, and he felt some challenges when it came down to it.
"My lord?" Styrvin heard while he frowned to himself. "We have reports of Xeno craft in the atmosphere. Their dispatching more forces to the planet's surface." Styrvin heard which was probably directed to the Wolf Lord of his company.
That explained where they had come from. If they were able to construct spacecraft? They were organized in combat, and they had come in force.
"Wait for us to deal with the rest of the Orks." He heard as he hummed. "Styrvin. Get to camp NOW. we need to prepare for more of them." Styrvin heard as he slowly started to drag himself up the hill before he sighed to himself.
"I'll be there when I can get there, brother," Styrvin responded before he frowned to himself under his helmet. "Are we sure they aren't Ork cruisers?" Styrvin asked while he slowly started to drag himself as he rolled his eyes.
"No. We destroyed most of their fleet when we showed up." One of his brothers mentioned. "And they don't ask for more reinforcements. Orks aren't cowards, whatever is left of them are waiting for another chance to strike. I'm surprised we haven't come across more of them." The Space Marine stated while Styrvin seemed to clear his throat.
He slowly climbed the hill before he looked into the sky. This battle had raged for a longer time than he had expected to it. it was rather interesting when he considered it. He was rather interested before he slowly started to trudge home with an interest in who these beasts had been when he considered it. There were more tasks to be done. he was rather hopeful more of these monsters came here so he was able to battle them.
More battles meant more glory and honor to be earned before he smiled to himself before he cracked his fingers while he started to think of what to do next.
He was ready to be done on this battle. He was unaware that more humans were around and there was a new enemy to do battle with.
He was aware that this galaxy had been owned by these same monsters. Nor was he aware that they were part of a new war with soldiers similar to themselves.
Author notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the story won't be following the games as the Banished/Orks are the main enemies. The next chapter will show the Space Wolves studying the Banished and start to set up the meeting of Spartans. The next chapter is in 2-4 months or so and will be 900-6500 words. Until then, Lighting Wolf out.
