"Dr. Wells, the accelerator is primed and ready for particle injection," Cisco says as Caitlin and Wells entered the room.

"I feel like I should say something profound like one small steel for man. All I can think of to say is I feel like I've waited for this day for centuries." Wells says as he finally turns on the accelerator and it activates, and they wait for something to happen.

"That's it?" Cisco asks as he was thinking more would happen. "You'd think there'd be, like, a loud bang."

"If there was a loud bang, we'd all be in big trouble," Ronnie replies to his friend.

"Take it from the guy who helped build it," Caitlin says with a smile.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we did it," Wells tells everyone as they cheer, and clap, and Wells opens that bottle.

The room was filled with applause as the Champagne rose out of the bottle and they start getting worried as the drink falls to the floor and the alarms start blaring.

While that was going on, May saw it was getting a little late for her to go back home and cook something and ended up just taking Peter out, sending a message out for Ben if he wished to join them.

"What's the matter?" May asked, seeing Peter hasn't touched his food. Of course, she knew what was wrong but just didn't know how to approach the subject. "Thought you'd loved larb. Is it too larby? Not larby enough?"

Peter just sat there and kept picking at his food.

"How many times do I have to say larb before..." May just burst out laughing at her joke and got Peter to at least smile. "...you talk to me?" She then looked sympathetic at Peter and was sorry for how the night turned out. "You know I larb you."

Peter sighed and finally talked. "It just...I can't believe this. Ten years."

"Well, what would you have liked him to say?" May asked him curiously. "When would you have liked him to say it?"

"I don't know, but I think it would've been better to hear it from him at least." Peter guessed, not knowing when he would have liked to be told.

Back at the house, Ben decided to head off to meet May and Peter at the restaurant and made his way out and got into his car. Once there, he thought of what Peter said and sighed. He then quickly called Peter, but unsurprisingly he didn't answer.

Leaving a quick message for him, he was getting ready to drive off when there was a knock on the window. Looking over, he noticed that it came from someone with a gun in their hand. The door then opened, and Ben decided to just do what he needed to and got out.

The Watcher sighed and wished there was something he could do here. "Every reality. Every universe. This...this moment. It's always going to become a fixed point in time. In order for Peter Parker to reach his full potential..."

BANG!

Distant cries and screams are heard from the neighbors after what has happened. The body of Ben Parker then fell and dropped onto the street.

"This moment is a permanent staple in the universe. A member of the Parker family must always die." The Watcher was sorry to say as the man got in the car and drove away.

Back at CCPD, Barry had just returned and turned on the tv to see what was going on after he left. Stepping over a puddle coming from the window in the ceiling, Barry saw he needed to close that.

"I'm Linda Park, and we're live outside STAR Labs despite the inclement weather, which is only going to get worse, the torrential downpour has in no way affected the particle accelerator, which is up and running smoothly according to STAR Labs CEO Harrison Wells."

As it went on, Barry opened up the crime scene notes he has made on the murder of his mother, looking over to a secondary board he has made of all of the Parker's in Central City. Which there was an abundance of. Barry didn't even know if the couple who adopted him kept his name as Peter when they adopted him.

"There's an anomaly in the core chamber," Cisco tells them as they see the information on the computers.

"The ring's structural integrity is holding," Caitlin says from her computer.

"But it's started a chain reaction. The system is starting to collapse." Ronnie replies to them as he sees it happening on the monitors.

"We need to shut it down," Wells tells them.

"We can't ramp down the accelerator from here," Cisco says. "We need to do it manually."

Max Dillon heard the cries and was on his way out when the ground began to shake, the electric coils starting to come loose on the upper floors.

Seeing if the power went off, the accelerator would do who knows what (probably explode), so he raced to quickly fix it. Grabbing his rubber gloves to not get zapped himself and die, he made his way up and used a ladder to reach the coils.

Once he had them reconnected, he saw his job was done just when a second coil came loose and swung to hit him in the back.

Max lets out an ear-piercing cry as he then fell and slammed against the hard ground.

"How would you have done it?" Peter asked his aunt May. "If you had known?"

May thought of it and wondered how she would. "I would sit you down. Maybe at around ten...maybe around now. And I would tell you the truth. I don't know how you were left. If your real parents left you, couldn't keep you, or if they passed on...but I would tell you that no matter where you came from, you are here with us because we love you." She reached over and held his hand as she went on. "We chose to care for you when they either couldn't or didn't. I didn't know much about your parents...adopted ones anyway, Peter. Ben didn't talk of them much, and I only met them a handful of times for special events. But if there is one thing I do know, Peter, it's this: It's not who you are you, but it's what you do that defines you."

Peter smiled and was happy to have such a loving and caring aunt. "Thanks. I needed to hear that."

"And...if you want to learn where you came from, who your real parents were, we'll always be here." May promised and held her hand out to caress his face. "Because no matter the circumstances, you're my family, Peter. I larb you."

Peter laughed and smiled at hearing that and loved her back. "I larb you too, May."

That's when they heard an alarm going off on the tv and turned to see they were talking about the accelerator. "Wait, we're now being told to evacuate the facility. The storm may have caused a malfunction in the primary cooling system. Officials are trying to shut down-"

The power then started to go off throughout the city when the particle accelerator exploded, sending a wave of energy throughout the city.

Curt Connors was in the labs, looking down at his missing limb, and was getting too desperate and injected the serum into himself just as the wave passed over him.

Max Dillon was laying down dead in the labs when the wave passed over his corpse.

Barry Allen watched as the accelerator went off and was closing the CCPD roof window when the liquids surrounding him began to levitate, followed by a bolt of lightning coming down and striking him.

Lana Baumgartner was in her room, peacefully in her home when the accelerator wave came passing and hit her, sending Lana flying into the wall.

Across the city, a lone spider inside Mercury Labs was affected by the accelerator and absorbed its capabilities into its venom.

The man who had recently murdered Uncle Ben was driving through the city in his car when the wave finally reached and hit him.

And there were many, many more who were affected throughout the entire city.

As the entire city was being affected by the accelerator, Peter and May were in for the most heart-wrenching moment of their lives when they returned home to discover Ben had been shot and the man who did the deed had escaped.

Anna may Watson had been there and given her statement as she watched as Ben was talking to someone before she saw and heard the gunshot going off and immediately called the cops.

Anna was comforting May as she was trying to get over the fact her husband was now ripped away from her. The detective with them, Eddie Thawne, was sorry for their loss and promised to do all they could to find the man who did this.

"Witnesses gave a description to a sketch artist," Eddie said as he took a pad from one of the sketch artists. "I need you to take a look."

May looked at the picture and deemed she didn't know the man. "I don't know him."

"I didn't expect you would. He's not known for making associates." Eddie said with sadness in his voice. "I'm sorry for your loss, Mrs. Parker. We will do all we can to find your husband's killer."

"Okay." May supposed was as good as a response of any.

"Let's go, Watanabe," Eddie told the officer with him and the two started to make their way out.

On their way out, Peter eyed them from the stairs, more specifically the picture that they sketched of his uncle's killer. "Hey, can...can I have that?"

Yuri shrugged and decided he could since they had copies and already knew who he was. "Sure." She then handed it to him. "Oh, and one other thing. His name is Marko. Flint Marko."

Peter heard that name and immediately engraved it in his mind as he looked down at the man who was wearing a striped shirt if the witnesses were to be believed.

Looking up, he saw as Anna was comforting May the best she could, and Peter couldn't believe this. This was his fault. If he didn't storm off or explode and just let Ben explain...he would still be here.

Going up to his room to grieve, Peter took out his phone where he discovered Ben's message. Seeing as this was the last thing he left him, he decided to actually sit down and listen to what he had to say.

"Peter, I know things have been difficult lately, and I'm sorry about that. I can't even imagine to know what you're feeling right now. Ever since you were a little boy, you've been living with so many unresolved things. And I know this discovering you're adopted from outside the family didn't help. But take it from an old man, these type of things send us down a road. They make us who we are. And if anyone is destined for greatness, it's you, son. You owe the world your gifts. You just have to figure out how to use them. And know that wherever they take you, whatever you do, I'll always be there. So come on Peter...please come home. You're my hero...and I love you."

Peter immediately broke down and placed the phone down as he huddled in a corner and cried.
