"Bobby Drake had begun to see the potential of his true power." The Watcher commented as he eyed the streets of Central City. "This moment alone would also change many things in the timeline. But it will depend on the track that he takes."
After the fight with Mark, it left a giant impact on Peter's suit, and he needed to spend some time trying to fix it. It might take a few weeks, and it will still look like a torn piece of cloth.
It wasn't meant to be a pretty suit, but it kept his identity safe. Not to mention it seems Bobby is getting a case of superhero syndrome after his fight with Mark.
Peter put that all to the side for the night as he was supposed to be having dinner with May. That he was really late for. Getting back home, he saw all the lights were on and he ran inside to see May was just setting the table.
"I'm so sorry I'm late, May!" Peter quickly apologized as he closed the door. "I was helping Bobby prepare for a quiz and lost track of time."
"Oh, it's alright, sweetie. You're just in time, no big deal." May was oddly okay with the time.
It worried him. She was up to something. He learned when she said something wasn't a big deal, it usually meant she did something behind his back.
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Peter asks.
"Come sit," May asked of him, only worrying Peter more. "I wanna discuss something with you."
Peter worryingly made his way over to the table and sat down. "What's up?"
"So... Anna May's niece has been having a hard time getting along with people in school. So we thought it would be a sweet idea if she accompanied you to the upcoming dance."
Peter had to hold back a groan after hearing that and kept a straight face. "You didn't have to do that."
"Oh, come on. What's the harm? Just take her with you, you can hang out with your friends, have fun and show her a good time.
Peter wished he could argue back, but she did have good points. What was the harm of just bringing her along? He would want someone to do that for him if he was in her situation.
"Alright, I'll think of it. I don't really think Gwen or Bobby were planning on going either." Peter admitted, thinking he's gonna have to find a way to convince them to go with him.
And now it was time to bring up the uncomfortable stuff.
"Hey, May, does the name Allen ring any bells?" Peter asked her.
May thought of it for a moment and got an idea. "Well, there was a Dr. Henry Allen at my practice when I worked at the hospital. Sweet, honest man."
"Put in prison for murdering his wife," Peter added, surprising May he already knew about it.
"Yes, how do you know about that?" May wonders.
"Recently, I've been having...dreams. I thought that's all they were...but then I looked into them." Peter tried to explain the best he could without being crazy. "Henry. Nora. Barry..."
"And what did you find?" May wonders.
"Their son Barry claims his father was innocent." Peter started to list. "That they had another son that was scrubbed from the record as much as possible. Peter Allen."
"You...you think you're their son?" May asked, not threatened by the idea of Peter looking for his blood family.
And not just because they can't really take him from her with the fact she and Ben legally adopted Peter after his parents died. She was okay with him figuring out who his family was and was willing to help him if she could.
"I think I might be," Peter confessed.
Sighing, an idea came into her mind. "I could maybe find out tomorrow."
"How?" Peter wonders.
"You let me worry about that," May said with a smile. "Now, eat."
Peter decided to leave it at that and went to eat his food.
Back in the sewers, Connors was back in his human form and was thinking about what to do. Now he has the identity of Spider-Man. Peter Parker. The boy that gave him such incredible powers, to begin with, was the one trying to stop him.
"Peter Parker. Spider-Man." The Lizard's voice echoed in his head. "I'm not the one who needs help. There will be no more loneliness, no more outcasts. Species-wide distribution could enhance humanity on an evolutionary scale."
Connors seemed to agree with the voice as he went through the labs he created and took the syringe with more formula, just with a higher dosage in it.
"One must adapt to survive. Would you give it up after all you know you can do? All the power you feel?"
Connors then opened the syringe and was bringing it closer to his arm.
"I can save them!"
He then injected it into him, the tail already forming on him and his eyes becoming slits.
"You're not going to get in the way of my plans, Peter Parker!"
The next day, Peter and Bobby were walking up the stairs of their school and talking about the recent night.
"Only you, Peter Parker." Bobby sighed, hearing everything about Peter and his possible real family. "Your real father is in jail for the murder of your actual mother, and your brother is currently in a coma."
"Only me." Peter agreed as he took a sip of his water. "So...how'd it go talking to Liz about last night?"
"Man..." Bobby sighed again as he lay on the wall. "She said she needs a break. Can't blame her though, losing her brother and learning I have powers must've been a lot to take in." He then looked down in sadness. "I think it's over."
"I'm so sorry, man." Peter sighed and saw Gwen coming over to them. "Hey, Gwen." He then noticed she was carrying a suitcase. "What's that?"
"Something I made up for you," Gwen said and handed it over to him. "New suit."
"What?" Peter asked and open the suit to see a slick new suit inside. "How?"
"I have my ways," Gwen said, only meaning she wasn't going to explain it to him.
The three of them then made their way into the school and start their day. But unknown to them, Connors had crawled his way down from the sewer and came out through the women's toilets, earning a scream from the women inside.
Outside the toilets, Peter and Bobby were reaching their lockers with Gwen by their side when they heard the screaming from the toilets.
"Huh. Guessing women problems." Bobby joked, earning a raised brow from Peter.
"That was beneath you." Peter scoffed when his senses went off. "Uh, oh."
The doors then bashed open, as well as part of the wall, revealing the Lizard.
"Ahh!" Bobby cried in terror, as well as the entire hallway of students.
Everyone started running off, trying to escape the enormous creature that snarled around. Peter grabbed the suitcase with the new suit from Gwen, stuffed it in his bag, and gestured to the exits.
"Go. Go!" Peter told his friends, knowing he needed to do this alone.
The two of them ran off with the rest of the school as the Lizard snarled when he saw that Peter was running up to him Emile everyone ran for the exits. Peter went in sliding across the floor while the Lizard went in for a strike. That gave Peter the chance to shoot a web at his left leg, causing him to trip with his right leg.
Peter went in and jumped on his back to punch him. But that ended with Lizard grabbing him off his back and ripping his bag and Peter dropping the case. He then picked the hero up and tossed him through the wall, sending several chairs flying and several desks falling.
Peter quickly got back up as the Lizard came through the same hole he just created and before he could counterattack, the Lizard pinned his arm to the ground. Followed swiftly was one of his claws trying to attack him, which he was able to dodge despite his immobility.
That failed as the Lizard blocked it with one of his giant scaly hands. "Nowhere to hide, Peter!"
Okay. Now Connors discovered his secret identity. Add that to the list of troubles in Peter's life. He quickly dodged his claws coming down to kill him and grabbed onto Lizard's leg and looked at his bag. He quickly webbed it, pulling the bag towards him, and that was followed by him getting picked up and thrown into another wall.
The Lizard approached the hole but stopped and picked up two chemicals on the table before mixing them, tossing them into the hole causing it to explode.
"All these souls lost and alone. I can save them; I can cure them. There's no need to stop me, Peter." Lizard promised as Peter responded by throwing one of his shoes back out at Connors.
Lizard roared in anger at what Peter just did as said person leaped out of the hole, breaking into the new suit.
This suit followed a blue and red color scheme around his head, hips, underarms, and his legs. The body, head, outer arms, upper hip, and knee-high boots are red while the inner arms, upper legs, and outer torso are matt blue. The colors are in a bright tone, especially among the red coloring. The eye lenses are black on the outline and white in the middle. They are also wide.
The spider insignia is at least bigger than a fist, and centered just above the chest. The web-shooters are located in the wrists as they should be, considering Peter had to add those on himself. The boots are also slightly below the knee, with black outlining covering them and the feet. The black outlining in particular resembles a spider's web, especially on the mask area and the torso. These outlines split the suit into rectangle segments, which are especially visible on the torso area, neck, and shoulders.
He landed on the desks before shooting two crossed webs and hitting the lights. Once he yanked them, it ended with the Lizard getting zapped by the electricity and hit upside the head.
Once he regained focus, Lizard noticed that Peter was gone from the desk. But in reality, he was crawling up the ceiling and sneaked behind Lizard, and leaped onto his back. That seemed to anger him while Peter tried to web him down whilst Lizard tried to get him off his back.
"You're not thinking straight, Doc!" Peter stated while the Lizard backed into the wall and crashed through it, but Peter dodged it and leaped off him to avoid the claws. "Stop this! This isn't you!" He stated as he webbed his face and attached them to the ceiling.
That doesn't seem to stop the Lizard as he crashed into the lockers and caused Peter to finally let go as he grabbed onto the wall, having the wind knocked out of him. But just then, his senses went off before Lizard could attack, scrapping all of the lockers while Peter leaped onto the ceiling, using it to stay away from the psychotic doctor.
"Let's talk this out," Peter begged while the Lizard snarled and crawled up the wall and made it up to the ceiling himself before he chased Peter. As he did so, Peter tried to reach the scientist within the monster. "Doc, can you hear me in there?!"
The Lizard just keeps coming at him while smashing the ceiling and lights as Peter dropped down onto the floor, and the Lizard did the same thing, but crawling down from the ceiling. This allowed Peter to work fast and try to stick him to the wall using his hand.
All that did was cause a piece of the locker to break off and leave a piece of metal in the palm of his hand.
"Oh, God! Bad idea!" Peter sighed as Lizard swung at him to try and slice him, but Peter dodged it by using his newly discovered acrobatics to flip backward and then shooting off the wall and sliding in between his legs.
"All right, so you don't wanna talk?" Peter asks as the Lizard roars at him, revealing his pointy sharp teeth just as Spider-Man shot his snout with a web. "There you go."
Lizard then ripped it off and swung his tail at Peter as he quickly grabbed it, but that didn't end well as Peter was swung into the lockers on the wall again.
"Don't-" Peter tried to stop him when Lizard smacked him into the other side of the wall. "...Make me..." He then swung him again and smacked him into the lockers again. "...Have to..." He was then swung back into the brick wall, but luckily his suit was able to take most of the damage, unlike his old suit. "...Hurt you!"
The lizard then spin around, which sent Spider-Man flying down the hall and into the catwalk doors. As so, he was sent sliding down it and only ended up getting his tail detached from him.
The Lizard marched down the catwalk as his tail regrew on his back. His old skin was shedding as stronger skin started to take its place over it.
"That's just disgusting!" Peter stated in disgust as he tossed the detached tail off of him and got up to then shoot the walls and slingshot himself at Lizard. But that ended with him getting his face smashed into the window.
Peter tries to fight him off, but without his face, fighting became a bit harder for him.
That's when someone smacked him up the side of the head, causing Lizard to drop Peter and turn to see it was Gwen. She stood there, holding a broken trophy she had just broken over his head.
"Gwen." Lizard snarled.
But before he could attack, Bobby interrupted and shot a beam of ice that covered the walls and floor causing the monster to slip. Bobby then came in and shot a blast of ice at the Lizard while Peter came in and started to swing around and wrap Connors up in a cocoon of webbing. Bobby saw Peter had this handled and stopped shooting ice as Lizard was detained and Peter shot webs around the wall.
Peter then shot a web at Gwen and took the award. Tossing the award at a window and shattering it, Peter pulled Gwen closer to him and held her.
"I'm gonna toss you out the window now," Peter told her.
"What?" Gwen asked.
Peter didn't answer as he did just that and Bobby quickly created an ice slide, going out himself, and catching her before she hit the ground.
With the two of his friends a safe distance away, Peter looked to see Connors free himself from the webbing and seems to grow angry. Sirens were then heard and they knew the police were alerted of the situation.
"Oh, no...seems someone's been a bad lizard." Peter mocked as he got ready for another fight.
In the library of the school, the school librarian, Stan Lee, had headphones on listening to classical violin music while going over the books.
As the music was playing, he missed that behind him, Peter was thrown through the wall and was sent backflipping through the library. He landed on the bookshelf as Lizard came crashing through it and Peter flipped further inside to dodge him.
Lizard went in for another attack when Peter flipped onto another shelf and missed when Peter landed on a table. Stan was scanning books when Lizard tossed a table at Peter, who dodged it and webbed it before it could hit his back and then tossed it back at Lizard.
Whilst he was down, Peter leaped and kicked Lizard before grabbing his head and flipped and kicking him in the chest. Stan just strolled out of the library, taking a break, as Peter was tossed and flung into the wall just as he passed.
Peter cried in pain as he got back up and noticed that Lizard was gone. Getting back up, he walked through the halls of the school and wondered where he went when he followed the destruction and found the claw marks leading back to the bathroom.
That's when Peter sees a sweater that came from STAR Labs and Peter realized he couldn't fight him, but he might be able to cure him. While he was thinking this, he heard the police calling out to anyone still in the school, meaning it was just the two of them left.
Outside, Bobby and Gwen wondered what happened when the chaos was settling down and called Peter.
Peter was in the sewers when he answered the phone. "Hey, what's up?"
He sounded too casual for them and knew he was just joking around. "Where are you?" She wondered.
"I'm fine. I'm okay. I'm tracking him. Thanks for the suit."
"Yeah, well, figured you'd want something that could at least survive knives in the future," Gwen replied with a smile.
"What, not bulletproof?" Bobby asks her.
"I'm not a miracle worker," Gwen replied.
"We can argue over designs later," Peter told the two of them. "I have to stop this before anyone else gets hurt. Right now, I need you two to get to STAR Labs and create an antidote."
"And how do you expect us to do that?" Gwen asks, not seeing how that's possible for them to do it.
Bobby raised a hand, pointing his finger to the sky. "My cousin works there, I can get one of her keycards to get us in. Not to mention she informed me how their security has gotten a lot worse since the explosion."
"Really?" Gwen asks. "That sounds backward."
"It's what she said." Bobby shrugged.
"Just get there, the antidote is file number 1936, TASM 6," Peter informed his friends.
"1936, TASM 6," Gwen repeated. "On it."
With that, they hung up and made their way to STAR Labs.
Peter was in the sewer, following the trail of claw marks that Connors left behind, and finally came across what Connors must've been using as a laboratory.
How did he get all of this stuff down here without any help?
Peter didn't have time to worry about that as he started to look around and saw he has been making canisters that seemed to be for the formula. He's found a way to make the formula airborne.
Looking around, he moved a few lizards away from the computer and he saw Connors has been making a video diary of everything.
"I spent my life as a scientist trying to create a world without weakness...without outcasts," Connors said as Peter looked around and saw he circled STAR Labs on a map. "I sought to create a stronger human being...but there's no such thing. Human beings are weak, pathetic, feeble-minded creatures." He then looked and noticed another video with the device he spotted back when he first visited STAR Labs. The Ganali device. The one that could disperse an antidote over a city in one minute. "Why be human at all... when we can be so... much more? Faster. Stronger. Smarter. This is my gift to you."
Peter then saw he plans on using the device to spread the formula across all of Central City before spreading it across as many cities as he could.
"STAR Labs," Peter whispered in shock.
