"You lied to us," Caitlin tells Barry as she checks on him. "How could you not tell us you're experiencing dizzy spells? We're your doctors. God knows what's going on inside your body. Your cells are in a constant state of flux. You could be experiencing cardiopulmonary failure or a transient ischemic attack."
Caitlin lists off the possibilities and Barry didn't understand a word of what she just said and turns to Wells in his wheelchair.
"Mini stroke," Wells explains and he looks back at Caitlin. "Probably not."
"You of all people know in science, we share. We don't keep secrets." Caitlin tells him and walks to check on his vitals.
"Wow. I haven't seen anyone make her that angry since Ronnie." Cisco says and follows her.
"Ronnie was Caitlin's fiancé? The one that died the night of the explosion?" Barry asks Wells and he concurred.
"He is...missed," Wells says. "Now, let's find out why this is happening to you.
Cisco showed Barry a treadmill he had put together especially for Barry, leaving him to get ready. The three of them are watching Barry run on Cisco's specialized treadmill and wait to see what's wrong and Wells sees something.
"Look at the glucose levels," Wells tells Caitlin and she realizes what's wrong.
"It was so obvious." Caitlin states.
"Barry, I think we know why you keep-" Wells starts off saying as Barry passes out and falls into the boxes Cisco patted up for him. "Fainting."
Peter was looking around the living room of Joe's house after introducing himself and took in everything he was seeing. He saw all the photos of Barry growing up over the years and even had a peek into Barry's old room.
"Gotta say, not much different from May's place," Peter commented as he looked around.
Joe chuckled at that and left Peter to soak everything in. "It's been nice getting to know you, Peter."
"Yeah, Barry talks high praise of you and Iris," Peter informed him before wondering something. "Where is Barry?"
"I don't know," Joe admitted as he wondered what was taking Barry so long. Then he looked across the room and noticed the STAR Labs sweater. "But I have an idea..."
That's when his phone went off and Peter saw it was from May. "Shoot, I gotta go. Tell him I'll shoot a text if the next time we can meet up."
"Look forward to getting to know you, Peter," Joe said as Peter made his way out.
Back in STAR Labs, Barry was back in a medical bed as he woke back up. Most of his bones and bruises have already healed from the slip-up.
"I passed out again?" Barry asked them.
"Total metabolic failure brought on by acute hypoglycemia," Caitlin explains why he fainted and he understood.
"I'm not eating enough." Barry recaps what she said. "So an I.V. bag and I'm good to go?" He asks them and Cisco chuckled at that.
"Try 40." Wells states and Barry sees the billions of I.V. bags he needed to keep him alive. "Guess you were thirsty."
"We're gonna need to fashion you a new diet based on your metabolic changes," Caitlin tells him.
"I've done a few calculations. You need to consume an amount equal to roughly 850 tacos." Cisco explains and starts rethinking. "Unless we talking cheese and guac, which is like a whole other set of equations."
"For Mexican, I recommend Tito's." A new voice says and they look to the doorway to see Joe. "On Brucker Avenue? Best burrito in the city."
"Detective West," Wells says looking at him happily. "What brings you to S.T.A.R. Labs?"
"When I couldn't find you at your lab, I started doing a little research. Turns out there have been reports of a red streak around the city that isn't anything to do with Spider-Man. He's been stopping muggers, rescuing people in burning buildings." Joe explains to them, and Wells looks at Barry confused.
. "You didn't tell him we were working together?" Wells asks Barry.
"Joe, I can explain," Barry tells him.
"You already have a job in law enforcement, Barry. I suggest you get back to it. I just had to lie to your own brother about where you were." Joe tells him and Caitlin hummed at that, getting his attention.
"Don't look at me, I'm on your side," Caitlin replied.
"Detective. We all want what's best for Barry." Wells explains to Joe.
"If you wanted what was best for Barry, you'd try to talk him out of this lunacy instead of encouraging him going out there risking his life," Joe states to Wells.
"You saw a man control the weather," Barry interjected to Joe. "What are the police gonna do against someone like that?" He asks Joe. "I mean, since the accelerator explosion we suspect there may be more like him."
"And you're gonna do what? Catch them? Do you think because you can run real fast you're invincible? You're not!" Joe tells Barry getting sick of this argument. "You're just a kid. My kid."
"I'm not your kid, Joe!" Barry exploded at him. "And you're not my father. My father is sitting in Iron Heights. Wrongfully convicted. I was separated from my brother because the court felt it was better for him to stay with the Parkers. You were wrong about him. And you're wrong about this. I may. I might be able to help our father, but if I can save someone from a burning building or stop some armed thieves, I'm gonna do it. And you can't stop me. So don't try."
Joe stared at Barry after that outburst and looked around the room. "You think you're so smart. All of you. But you don't know what you don't know. And I hope you're clever enough to figure it out before someone else gets killed."
Johnathon Ohnn, also known as Spot, was standing in his casual clothes in a dark alley when a man approached him.
"Where's the tech and suit?" The man asks Johnathon.
"It's where it needs to be," Johnathon replied.
"What do you want, Ohnn?" He asks Ohnn.
"The only thing I still want in life...your boss dead," Johnathon says. "I need his full itinerary. And security access to his office and home."
He then scoffed at that thought. "It's not my fault you didn't get him when he was out in the open. I thought with that tech you were supposed to be able to travel at light speed. Yet again, you always were slow. Listen, I've got a reputation in the security business. It's one thing if my employer gets iced. It's another if it happens in his bed."
"You'll do what I ask, Mr. Java," Johnathon says to him, and Java just punches him, sending Johnathon flying through the air.
"You never had the guts to stand up to anyone. Forget being able to kill a man. You were never man enough." Java scoffed as he walked away. "You couldn't even let that hero die."
Johnathon rubbed his chin and thought of what he said. "You're right. It's time I manned up!"
With that, his suit began to morph around him, and the spots appeared close behind. When they appeared, he held his hand out towards Java. Just as Java took one step, the portal opened up below him. Johnathon stood up and morphed back into his clothes as he fixed his shirt.
While he was waiting for the comeuppance, Java came falling, his screams filling the air for a quick second before...Java ended up as a stain on the road.
At Stagg Industries, Eddie and Joe were talking to Stagg, considering that his head of security was just taken off the pavement earlier that morning. While they were talking, Johnathon was making his way inside using his portals and searching around for Stagg.
"You honestly think that someone wants to kill me?" Stagg asks Joe and Eddie as they walk through his facility.
"We're not sure, Mr. Stagg, but an event you were being hindered at was robbed at gunpoint," Eddie explains to Stagg.
"And your head of security was found beaten near-dead this morning." Joe also explained.
"I am a scientist and a philanthropist. We're not often the targets of assassins." Stagg tells them.
"Well, what about lawsuits?" Joe asks and holds a file in his hand. "You've got about 20 of those pending against you."
"It is a sad fact of life, Detective, that when you earn a lot of money, people who haven't think they can take it," Stagg says.
"People like this guy? Johnathon Ohnn?" Joe asks and holds a photo of the said man to him. "You fired him and now he's suing you."
"Unfortunately, our working relationship wasn't successful, but I can assure you both of one thing. Johnathon Ohnn is not a killer. He's a wormhole researcher, not a criminal mastermind." Stagg explains when suddenly Spot shows up through a black hole.
"That was Johnathon Ohnn." Johnathon informed them as the two detectives pull their guns out. "But the Spot? He's capable of killing!" He then created a black hole when they opened fire and leaped inside it.
They looked around for where he could be when several shots were fired behind them. They all ducked for cover, only for a black hole to open and take their cover.
Back at CCPD, Barry was informed of the crisis due to the cops getting ready to move out. He overhears where they're going and races off.
Peter was just swinging around the city when he suddenly got the alert from his scanner and knew it has to be the Spot.
Back at the Industries, Joe and Eddie split up to try and take down the Spot and save Stagg in the process. But before he could do anything, Barry sped in just when a black hole formed underneath him. That's when Spider-Man arrived and shot a web to pull him out of wherever that was going to end up.
"I'd get out of here," Peter tells the cop.
But before anyone could react, Barry sped in and got Joe out of there before returning. The two heroes finally stood face to face with one another after all of this time.
"Oh, hey, Spider-Man, right?" Barry asked him.
"Yeah," Peter said, eyeing the man in a red onesie. He felt that the guy's voice was a little familiar and wondered where he heard it before. "Do I know you from somewhere?"
"I'd think not," Barry said, feeling he's heard this guy's voice somewhere before.
But before they could look deeper into it, Spot appeared through a wormhole.
"Whoever you are, give yourself up," Barry demanded him.
"Has that ever worked for anyone?" Peter wants to know, feeling that's never worked.
"He's right," Johnathon replies. "And I'm not going anywhere. Not until Simon Stagg is dead."
Then he tossed several dozen small black holes around them, causing the two heroes to look around and see they can't make their way around. That was quickly followed by Spot using the black holes to punch the heroes.
One of his fists hit Peter, sending him toppling backward. His second fist came in and punched Barry in the guts. Peter shot two strands of webbing, only for them to go around and wrap around Peter.
Peter then came up with an idea and sent his fist flying through one of the portals, only for the portals to end up near Barry. His punch sent him flying through a growing portal, smacking him across the warehouse.
"Okay. That didn't go as planned." Peter commented. Then his senses went off and he turned around only to be punched in the face again.
When he saw he had a clear path to the Spot, he went in and go for the hit. Only the second he did, his fist came out of his head, sending the punch back at Peter.
The punch sent him flying and fell outside of the building, landing in the portal that Spot originally came from. He pants like crazy, trying to put together what just happened and sighed. The two heroes then ran away and tried to find out what they're gonna do next.
Barry was back in STAR Labs and was getting patched up while they got information on the man that he heard.
"Johnathon Ohnn," Wells said as he looked over the profile. "A scientist specialized in black hole research and the possible uses they have for transport."
"I saw him create black holes from the spots on his body," Barry informed them.
"That's ironic," Cisco commented on the news. "He specializes in black holes, now he can create them at will."
"If he was experimenting on his black hole technology during the dark matter from the explosion..." Wells said when Cisco interrupted.
"You get the Spot," Cisco replied and was disgusted by the name. "Is he married to that name? Because I feel I can brainstorm a few better ones."
Barry just started to walk away and Caitlin wondered where he was going. "Where are you going?"
"Joe was right." Barry sighed and looked at Caitlin. "You were right. I'm fast, but I am no warrior. I could barely fight this one metahuman with the help of Spider-Man."
"Spider-Man?" Cisco asked in shock.
"Barry," Wells called him back. "I understand. Today was a setback. But you can never learn to fly without crashing a few times."
"This wasn't a setback, Dr. Wells. This was a mistake." Barry stated as he walked away.
With that, he sped off and found himself heading for Jitters. When he made it there, he saw that Peter was already there, his computer out, looking over the pictures of Spider-Man being taken down by Spot.
"Hey." Barry greeted him, taking notice of the injuries on his face. "Whoa. What happened to you?"
"Hm?" Peter asked, realizing his wounds haven't healed yet. "Oh. Nothing, I took a fall trying to get my pictures."
"Right, for the photography job for the Bugle?" Barry asks him.
"Yeah," Peter confirmed.
"Why do you do all that?" Barry wonders. "I've been looking at what I've missed while I was..."
"Taking a long nap?" Peter asked him in a joking manner.
"Sure." Barry guessed. "And saw how rotten Jameson treats that Spider-Guy."
"Yeah, Jameson doesn't like to tell the full story. He likes to tell the parts of the story that only make him look like a menace."
"I know, I don't like how Jameson trashes on him," Peter tells Barry with a sigh. "But since..." he then stopped himself as he didn't want to get into what happened with his Uncle Ben. "Everything that happened, I need to do my part to help May pay the bills."
Barry was a little surprised to hear this from his brother and is seeing how mature he is compared to other kids his age. "So, where's your friend?"
"Bobby? He went home a few hours ago." Peter informed him.
Bobby was indeed at home, trying to get his powers to work. The theory so far is that he used too much of his energy on Lizard and his body's healing.
"You look a little down? What's up?" Peter asked him.
"Well, I just quit something that I thought would be beneficial for people, but turns out I'm not good at it," Barry explains to his brother. "But out of all the ways to make money, why do you go with photography?"
"My...well, adopted uncle Ben would teach me about it," Peter explained to him and showed the camera Ben gave him a while ago.
"Huh." Barry guessed it was a good answer as any.
That's when his phone went off and so did Peter's. When they looked, Barry saw it was a message from the STAR Labs team and Peter saw it was an alert where Spot was.
"I've..." Peter gestured to the back exit.
"Yeah, I have to..." Barry gestured to the front exit.
The two of them then ran off in two separate directions, not knowing they'll be meeting back up in a few minutes.
Peter arrived at the location and saw it was Spot going after Stagg again in his own building. When the security tried to stop him, the black holes swallowed them and sent the guards falling from the skies.
But Peter was luckily there to catch them all with web nets. Inside, Barry speeds up and saves Stagg before going back in for the showdown against Spot.
"I know Stagg stole your research, but that doesn't give you the right to murder," Barry called out into the room, looking around for Spot.
"That's what you think this is about?" Johnathon asks as Barry heard and saw the portal. When he sped up to grab Spot, he disappeared into another portal. "This is about Silvia."
Barry looked around to try and track down where he was, but couldn't find him anywhere. That's when a portal opened up behind him and a hand came yanking Barry through. When he came back, he saw that he was falling from the ceiling when Spider-Man came in and caught him.
"We take this to our graves," Peter tells Barry.
"Sure." Barry guesses.
"She was my wife!" Johnathon informed the heroes. "We were partners during our research, and when Stagg fired us, we tried to continue our work...but then Stagg stole our research. So he could reap the glory of instant transportation. And I need up losing Silvia to one of the experiments! Now...I'm alone."
A portal then opened, but Peter started to use his senses more frequently, allowing him to get an idea. With the portals, when he reaches through, that's his opening to go in. He turned around and punched the Spot before he could come out.
"How'd you do that?" Barry asks Peter.
"It's my power," Peter stated as he walked over to the Spot. "Now that hit the Spot, didn't it?"
Barry looked at him and was confused by the statement. "Did you make a pun?"
"If we keep meeting up like this, you'll get used to it," Peter promised and looked at him. "So what do we do about him?"
"We'll find something," Barry promised him. "I got this. You got somewhere to be?"
"Yeah, actually. I do." Peter said.
After everything he went through, almost dying several times, he realized there was something he wants to do.
After everything cooled down, and Peter's near-death experiences were over, getting sense knocked into him several times, and he decided to do something he should have done already. He went up to Anna May's house and knocked on the door.
Luckily, it was MJ who answered and seemed to have been expecting him.
"Hey," MJ said as she smiled at him.
"I want you to know straight up...I like you." Peter decided to start with. "Like...like you like you."
"I feel the same," MJ agreed and leaned on the doorway to let him continue.
"But if we're gonna try and make this work, then I need to warn you what you're in for." Peter continued and saw she was letting him go on. "First off, my real father has been accused of murdering my mother."
"I'm aware," MJ assured him, May already informing her how he was adopted.
"Second off, my job means I'm on the clock around the clock. Whenever there's an emergency, I'll usually have to flee in the middle of anything." Peter continued to set warnings for her. "Sometimes without any explanation."
"Sure." MJ understood that.
Peter then noticed that his list was sort of short. "Well, that's it."
MJ chuckled and walked over to him. "The problem isn't can I keep up with you, the problem is..." she then leaned in and pecked his mouth. "Can you keep up with me?"
"I don't know..." Peter admitted to her. "But I'm willing to try."
"Atta boy, Tiger," MJ whispered before going to kiss him again.
The Watcher smiled at them and sighed. "Love. Blossoming from the strangest of places. A sweet nerd and a beautiful young woman. Only time shall reveal if they can keep up with one another..." Then something caused him to look around in shock. "Wait...what?"
Back at Stagg industries, Stagg himself was in his office when Wells paid a surprise visit to him.
"Wells? Who the hell let you in?" Stagg asks Wells as he shows up out of nowhere.
"You been having a party out there?" Wells asks, regarding the bodies.
"Well, I'm sure you saw on tv, that a former employee tried to kill me," Stagg tells him as he takes a drink.
"Former employee with the ability to open black holes at will. Facing off a man with spider abilities and a man who could move at super speed." Wells states while smiling.
"You've seen them too, haven't you?" Stagg asks Wells.
"Indeed, I have," Wells tells Stagg.
"Extraordinary. You know, I honestly thought Spider-Man was some hoax. Something someone made up to get attention. I never imagined seeing something like that up close." Stagg admitted as he got up and walked around to stand just in front of Wells. "And the second one. The power he possesses, it's like the...like the gods of old. It's like Mercury on earth. Can you imagine if you could control his power? If you could...if you could harness it, you could change what it means to be human. Spider-Man and the man in the red mask are keys, keys to changing everything we know. And I'm gonna get them."
"The man in the red mask. He's called the Flash. Or at least he will be." Wells then proceeds to take off his glasses, ready to respond. He then stands up and towers over him.
"What the hell?" Stagg asks as Wells stabs him with a knife.
"Forgive me, Simon. I'm worried you will think this is personal, it's not. It's just that the man in the mask...the fastest man alive...he must be kept safe." Wells said and pulled the knife out, instantly killing him.
"Why was I drawn here?" The Watcher asked, figuring this is happening as it should. "Something is wrong here."
That's when an explosion went off nearby and that caught Thawne's attention. When he found the cause of the explosion, he was met with the Green Goblin with a backpack of sorts on his back and hopped back on his glider.
"So, you're the Green Goblin?" Thawne asked in his Reverse-Flash suit.
"Guilty as charged," Goblin said as he eyed the man. "And you are?"
"Let's say we have a common goal," Thawne tells him as he stopped vibrating. "And I want your help to get rid of Spider-Man for good. And looking for a partner in crime."
"This is terrible." The Watcher said in shock at the team-up as the two began to talk. "The Green Goblin with the knowledge the Reverse-Flash possesses, both can become a threat on a whole different level. There's no telling what they will accomplish together..."
"What are you here for?" Thawne was curious to know.
"The research Ohnn was working on." Goblin informed him. "And I needed to take care of the original man."
A few blocks away, they saw a giant explosion go off that claimed the life of Johnathon Ohnn.
"Looks like we have nothing to worry about." Goblin replied with a grin.
