The howling winds blow across the icy fields of Helheim. The crimson-black sky prohibits any light from shining on this desolate land. Going further from the center of these barren grounds, one would find a vast swamp surrounded by a permanent fog of poison.

Most who were adventurous enough to navigate through the native land of the Tuvegs died, but those who were skilled or lucky enough could make it through. What they would see at the end of their perilous journey was a massive construction made out of a marble-like substance. It looked similar to the Roman building "Pantheon" that was destroyed in the first Euro-Arcology War.

Knowledge slowly began to spread about this dungeon, and after numerous raids and numerous defeats, a high-tier guild decided to take a crack at it.

They were decimated. The failure was so great that one of their guild members leaked their footage of the fight before quitting. This plummeted their guild's reputation to the ground.

Not wanting to suffer any more humiliation, the guild decided to raise a raiding party. Over 500 players showed up, and even a few World Champions joined in. With their mercenary NPCs, they had a force of 1,500.

They conquered floor by floor, finally reaching the 8th. They still had 400 players and most of their world champions, but they lost numerous mercenary NPCs, with only 600 surviving, but with these numbers, they should be able to defeat this floor.

It was a massacre. All 400 players and 600 NPCs died. The players who died were spawn camped until they lost all of their valuable items. An uncountable number of complaints about fairness were brought up, so much in fact, that the developers of Yggdrasil had to make a public announcement that the guild base was legal.

As footage of the raid was spread, partially due to the players who lost all of their items, The Great Tomb of Nazarick got its epithet.

"The Unconquerable Dungeon"

But now, it's barely even a shadow of its former self. Years have passed since the 1,500-player invasion gave the dungeon its name, and now Yggdrasil is closing down.

Within the Tomb, two monstrous beings sat around a gigantic glazed white table. One of them was an Elder Black Ooze, a high-tier slime with a powerful acidic ability. Nearby was an Overlord, the final form of an elder lich and capable of the highest tier of magic.

"Let's meet up again somewhere," the Elder Ooze said listlessly.

[Herohero has logged off]

"Today's the last day of th–" The Overlord tried to say before he got interrupted by a message.

[Nishikienrai has logged on]

A bright shining light hit one of the 41 chairs around the round table. As the light fades, a smooth, featureless humanoid made out of a strange black stone appeared.

"Oh, hey Nishikienrai," Momonga greeted. It was a surprise, but a welcome one.

"Oh, Hi Momonga, it has been a while, hasn't it?" Replied the half-golem, stretching his arms out.

"Yeah, it really has."

Sitting up, the lich gazed at the golden staff behind him. It was the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, an elegant staff with its top being seven serpent heads holding seven different colored spheres.

"Ah, that staff was a pain to get, and we never even got to use it," Nishikienrai remarked, remembering the atrocious drop rates of the Golothoma.

This opinion was not mutual. Momonga admired the staff, it represented the hundreds of hours of grinding, skipped meals, and sacrifices.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Momonga replied,

"I know it's a lot to ask, but I was wondering if you could stay until the servers close."

"Sure, five hours of sleep isn't too bad," Nishikienrai said with a chuckle.

Leaving the guild weapon behind, the two heteromorphs walked out of the round table room and into the long, dim-lit corridor.

"So, Nishikienrai, I have never seen you log in without anything. Did you lose your backup gear?" Asked Momonga.

"No, I left my backup gear in the ninja mansion."

"I thought that you would dump it in the Treasury."

"Well, I thought it would be cool if I put my stuff on a golem or something and put it in the ninja mansion, it would be like a legacy of sorts. But I forgot, so I just did it with my backup.

Suzuki Satoru felt relieved. It brought him comfort that the avataras in the Treasury weren't totally cringe.

"Ah, actually, If you don't mind, can I go get my stuff? It feels awkward walking with someone with the whole role-play getup, and with me being practically naked," Nishikienrai said with a small laugh.

"I don't mind."

On the ninja's finger, a golden ring embedded with a red amethyst shined, and in a bright flash, the half-golem was gone.

Nishikienrai teleported inside the ninja mansion. Standing in front of him was a humanoid golem and beside it was an ornate, wooden box. The golem wore clothing reminiscent of a Hanzo, but it had spikes on its shoulder and white coloring on its limbs, it looked identical to Nishikienrai's main gear.

He remembered his first set of relic-class armor, it was literally just a remash of a Hanzo. But with convincing by Ulbert and Takemikazuchi, he redesigned it, and to be fair, it did look significantly better.

After remembering that fun memory, he touched the golem, and a tiny window opened up, [Equip].

A light shined on both of them, and the armor of the golem vanished and then reappeared on the ninja.

Ah, that's much better.

Kneeling down, he opened the chest beside the golem. Again, another window opened up, but it was much bigger.

Where is it?

Scrolling down through books, armors, weapons, and items, the half-golem was searching for something.

I don't have time for this [Take All].

His once empty inventory was suddenly filled with random ninja-related items, and after using the search bar of his inventory, he finally found it. Taping the weapon, it was transferred to his inventory. The weapon's name was 'Fujin', it was a large, black kunai with a hilt guard, the edge was colored arctic blue.

[23:55:03]

Wow, Time flies so fast.

Using the ring of Ainz Ooal Gown, he teleported to the round table room. Quickly running down the corridor, then the gigantic staircase, he finally made it to the entrance of the 10th floor.

Shouldn't there be guards here? Maybe Momonga moved them.

Entering the enormous doors, Nishikienrai teased,

"Wow Momonga, if I didn't know it was you, I would've thought I was heading for a boss fight."

"Ah, Nishikienrai, you're back."

Momonga replied, gazing at the ninja.

"It took longer than expected, but I got back in time"

[Shadow Step]

The ninja's eyes turned a solid white, a deep contrast to the gaseous, shadowy form of his body. In almost an instant he teleported beside the lich.

Surprised, Momonga spoke, "Ahh, I didn't know you achieved 4th mastery for one of your Ninjutsu." 4th mastery was the second-highest mastery and it was still extremely powerful, most normal ninjas had only 5-6 Ninjutsu at that level.

"Indeed, I got the mastery a few weeks before I left, it was so difficult to accomplish"

Suzuki's heart ached after he said that, it reminded him of so many guild members leaving, only a few cared enough to say goodbye. With his emotions hitting a familiar low he checked the clock.

[23:59:55]

"So, it's finally ending," Momonga softly muttered.

I wish Take or Meko would come, this is quite depressing seeing Momonga so upset.

[23:59:58]

[23:59:59]

Suddenly, the luxurious throne room turned into a forest. What!?

Instantly, Nishikienrai used [Absolute Hiding, one of the most powerful stealth abilities in a ninja's arsenal. Simultaneously, he used [Shadow Step, a Ninjutsu similar to greater teleportation but it was overall better and could break through strong anti-teleportation zones. [Void Gaze] is what he used next, it was a very high-tier detection Ninjutsu that lasts for 10 seconds. Together, this should allow him to escape any trap laid out by the enemy, locate the enemy, and allow him to swiftly counterattack. But seconds ticked and ticked.

Wait, there is no enemy? Where is Momonga? And why am I still on? Didn't it pass midnight?

Confused, he opened up his menu

Why isn't it coming up?

[Message Momonga]

[Message GM]

What!? Why isn't the message working!?

[Force Logout]

Why isn't anything working!?

Anxiety struck his heart, he could feel his skin tightening, and his breathing accelerated.

Focus, why is this happening? Is there a bug on the helmet? No, it can't be, I have one of the safest Dive gear. Is it a bug in the game? No, there are heavy regulations on this kind of stuff. Is it a dream? No, I'm thinking right now. What is it!?

Calm down and think

As the anxiety wore off, Nishikienrai took a look at the surroundings.

What an unbelievable view, it's beautiful, the lush greenery, the blue sky, the huge trees, it looks similar to the mid-level area [The Crimson Forest]. Did I get transported to the game? I need more information.

Disabling [Absolute Hiding] to conserve mana, the ninja sprinted, his afterimages chasing after him.

Huh? This is way faster than the speed limit of Yggdrasil. My passive Ninjutsu [Silent Footsteps] and ninja exclusive cosmetic effects are working, so that's good to know.

After running for a few minutes, he stopped by a small clearing. There was a narrow stream of water flowing in the middle of the clearing, creating a tiny creek.

This should be a good spot, it's far away enough to do some testing, but just to be sure.

[Void Gaze]

No threats, only wild animals.

"Ok, how would this wor-" immediately he realized his voice was deep, tremendously deep.

Why is my voice so deep? It sounds like I'm using a voice changer.

Curiously, he touched his mouth, there was nothing there, it was perfectly smooth and flat. He touched his face again, but this time he pressed on his eyes. Although he couldn't see, he felt no discomfort. Next, he covered his ears, he could still hear sounds, from ants crawling on the ground to distant birds flapping their wings.

Strange, I don't know how I can see or hear, but it looks like I have an enhanced sense of hearing if I focus enough. I wonder if it goes beyond hearing.

Focusing on his eyesight, he could see every minute detail, from the veins on the leaves to the small pebbles by the creek, he could see it all.

Interesting. I can run faster, and my senses are much better. What about my physical strength?

Crouching down, he pulled his fist back. In an instant, his fist landed on the ground, creating a cannon-like sound. The dirt exploded, creating a massive dust cloud, and the force of the punch created a blast of air that shook the leaves. And once it cleared, a 3-meter deep hole appeared.

This wouldn't work in Yggdrasil, the game wouldn't compute useless things like the force of your punch affecting leaves, it would be too much for the servers. It's unlikely that I am in the game, so what is it?

Putting his hand on his head, he tried to think of a reasonable explanation for what was happening. After thinking for a few minutes, he came up with nothing, no explanation.

I guess I should test some more

As Nishikienrai thought this, he turned to a bird.

[Shadow Seal]

The bird's shadow ruptured out of the ground, forming several shadow-like tendrils. The tendrils lashed out, engulfing it before it could fly. Rapidly, the tendrils formed into chains and wrapped around it, creating an inescapable prison. After a few seconds of the bird desperately trying to get out, Nishikienrai released the spell

Instantly, the shadow chains vanished, and the fearful bird quickly flew away.

That's strange, after I used [Shadow Seal, I know almost everything about it, all the details like the max distance, how effective it would be on different creatures, and even the amount of times it was used.

Focusing on [Void Gaze, [Shadow Step, and [Absolute Hiding] Ninjutsu, the same thing happened, he knew almost every detail about them. What about Ninjutsu that I haven't tested yet?

Focusing again, he thought of the Ninjutsu [Frost Bomb]. He knew the basic mechanics of the Ninjutsu, like how it was an AoE debuff that focused on slowing down multiple enemies.

As he focused, nothing happened, no new information came. What if I used it?

[Frost Bomb]

A blue, semi-transparent, floating ball appeared in front of him, lightly kicking it, the ball slid through the air like it was on ice and landed right by the creek

After a few seconds, it appeared that nothing had happened, but then the entire creek froze solid, the once green clearing turned pure white, and everything within a 20-meter radius turned to ice.

Information about [Frost Bomb] was suddenly implanted in his head. Hmm, I wonder if it works the same with skills?

[Veiled Strike]

Without moving, a 2-meter hole was dug straight to the ground and shattered the ice around the area into hundreds of pieces.

[Veiled strike] was a skill that dealt damage and only could be realistically avoided by having obscenely high perception, as the attack was invisible.

I didn't get any new information, how strange. Now, what about my inventory?

Trying to open up his inventory, a deep black void appeared in Front of his hand. Reaching in, new information flooded his mind. Like an instinctive feeling, he knows how to get any item out of his inventory.

Taking out three shurikens, he threw them at the tree. The shurikens seamlessly passed through the timber and even went beyond, slicing through several trees behind it.

That was cool, but that's enough testing for now. I should get more information about my surroundings.

Looking up, he tried to find the tallest tree, then he saw it. Its length easily reached 80 meters and its width was almost 4 meters wide.

Ah, What was the inspiration for [The Crimson Forest] again? I think it was the extinct Redwood Forest of North America, but I'm not too sure.

Walking towards the tree he took two steps on it, one would think that the ninja would fall off, but instead, it looks like gravity flipped sideways, allowing him to walk up the tree.

Huh, in Yggdrasil, ninjas could walk and run on walls, but the 'gravity' of the player was always on their feet. It seems that it doesn't apply isn't here, the gravity is trying to push me down to the ground, not the tree. It's quite disorienting.

In a short while, he reached the top, what he saw was a seemingly endless sea of trees, some were even taller than his tree. Weirded out by this, he focused his eyesight. Nothing, absolutely nothing. I need to get higher.

[Absolute Hiding]

Now invisible, he Opened his inventory and pulled out the item [Hollow Moon's Wingsuit]. It was a modification that could be put on any light armor and enabled the user to glide and control how fast they wanted to glide. This would be useless for most occasions, as [Fly] would be better in most situations, but due to weeks of experimenting in Yggdrasil, he knows a technique to get high without [Fly]. He needs to Bomb Jump.

Nishikienrai equipped the item [Cuffs of Rhode, an item that lowered the weight of the user and decreased his natural resistance to knockback by reforming the metal in his half-golem body.

This was a special ability of constructs. It allowed the user to be immune to one debuff, or be resistant to one type of attack with just a penalty of knockback resistance; an incredibly good ability for tanks. It took 10 seconds for reformation, and once those 10 seconds were up…

[Air Bomb]

The wind started to get sucked in the green, semi-transparent ball. It Rapidly condensed, blinking white slowly at first, but speeding up faster and faster until the green turned into a brilliant white. As this happens, the half-golem jumped above the air bomb. I hope this works, I'll look dumb if it doesn't.

A thundering explosion of air propelled him into the sky, lifting him hundreds of meters in the air. As reaches the apex of his height, he creates multiple symbols with his hands.

[Air Bomb]

As the air bomb formed, the ninja punched it towards the ground. The air bomb fell much slower than he did, so as the air bomb exploded again, it also lifted him up again. He soared above the clouds.

Spreading his limbs apart, he stops falling and starts gliding. Let's see how big this forest really is.

Using his enhanced senses again, he saw the sea, after gliding for a few minutes towards it, something piqued his interest in the distance. A boat!

The sound of ferns rustling was the only noise throughout the empty forest. An orange hue permeated through the dense canopy of green, revealing four silhouettes. Looking closer at them, they all seem to have a strange, polished, black metal around their necks.

"Are you sure you heard an explosion?" Asked a man wearing fully white plate armor.

"Yes Cerabrate, my magical device, [Ears of a rabbit] is working perfectly fine."

"I'm just checking Ethelyn, we have been walking for a while now," Cerabrate spoke with an exasperated sigh.

"Guys, I think we're g…g-oing too far in the forest," said a short, timid girl, biting her lips.

"That is true, we are quite a distance away from the safety of the draconic kingdom" a tall man wearing a jade cloak spoke.

Stopping his movement, Cerarate crossed his arms, "We're adamantite adventurers, stop your crying." he hissed.

The tall man stopped, "we're traveling to Beastmen-controlled territory, near dusk, and we don't even know what we are expecting! This is a terrible idea!"

"What would happen if a Beastman magic caster attacked Marane or Kiatoa? I will tell you what will happen, the city wall will be breached, and the city will be destroyed, and just because the strongest people in the entire kingdom were too afraid to clear some pest!" Berated Cerabrate, somehow even more annoyed.

An uneasy obedience was forced upon the group. It was short as the silence was finally disrupted by Cerabrate's boots walking into the forest; the group soon followed.

Five bodies lay dead, their blood staining the forest ground. A cloaked young woman with short blonde hair stood upright, her sadistic grin touched cheek to cheek.

"Aww, it's just a shame they didn't last long" The woman yawned. After licking the blood from her stilettos, she crouched down and picked up a turquoise green metal from all of their necks.

"God, I hate it when those dumb Cardinals send me to these Beastmen territories, it's no fun, isn't that right?" she said, speaking to the corpse. "It's only fun with humans," she continued, a smile forming again on her face.

I especially hate it when they send a scripture to 'monitor' me like some dog.

She was on a mission to observe the Beastmen as they were getting more and more restless. Although her superiors hold her not to kill any defending military troops of the Draconic kingdom and even sent the windflower scripture with her, she can't help herself; it's too fun.

"Now, time to see what that noise was all about~," she said with a playful tone.

Deep within the forest, a young man sat resting on a fallen tree, a long and sleek naginata sat next to him. Swiping his ink-black hair aside revealed his eyes that gleamed a bright golden shade.

So, this is the mainland? Mother told me so many tales about these lands.

Standing up and dusting off his gray robe, he reached for his bag, 3 rings adorned his fingers. Opening it up revealed the volume of the bag to be much bigger than it appeared. Rustling through the wild assortment of items such as rations, gold coins, books, tools, and pouches, he found the item he was looking for; a map.

Taking the map, he set it out on the forest floor. The left of the map showed the Draconic Kingdom and the right showed the Beastman Country.

I should be in the Red Ash Forest, the border between the two nations, or at least according to this map. It's strange, Mother told me that Beastmen never cross the border, but I fought them almost as soon as I reached land. Perhaps the Beastmen advanced their border? That would likely cause conflict with the Draconic Kingdom.

After examining it for a while longer, he put his map away and grabs a book from his backpack. Taking his naginata and bag with him, he proceeded deeper into the forest.

I wonder what unusual animals I will write about in this journal? The night must have many interesting creatures.

The waves crashed on the hard rocks of the beach. The birds flocked away as a strange humanoid glided onto the rocky shores.

Nishikienrai observed the boat, it was fairly small, only allowing one person in, it also was in pristine condition. This proves that someone was here, but where did they go?

[Void Gaze]

Out in the distance of the shore were two dead bodies, a horse of flies surrounding the bodies. Rushing towards it, he noticed that they were Yggdrasil races.

Beastmen!

As he got closer, he identified them to be a tiger and lion Beastmen, a popular demi-human choice back in Yggdrasil. Observing them even further, he noticed that both of them had their throat slit, one of them by a razor-sharp edge, and the other by a serrated blade.

It's odd, I should be feeling disgusted, yet I feel nothing. I'm looking at a corpse with parts of their throat ripped out and littered on the earth, and yet I feel nothing.

Ignoring this thought, for now, he used his enchanted senses to pick up on any tracks. It was easy to see dirt stains on the tiny pebbles, but unfortunately, he saw two possible paths someone could take, along the sea or into the forest.

Hmm, the sea or forest? I know that these are human footprints, but where did they go?

It was difficult for Nishikienrai to effectively evaluate where someone would go back in his Yggdrasil days. That job would go to Jäger; the tracking and trapping specialist of Ainz Ooal Gown.

After pondering for minutes, he decides the best bet would be going along the sea.

Nishikienrai Bomb Jumped into the sky

Gliding through the air, he uses his enchanted senses to find anything, but there were no tracks. Nearly 10 minutes passed, yet nothing but trees and water as far as the eye could see.

I probably picked the wrong way.

Regretting his choice, he decides to take a detour into the forest again, but then, he suddenly sees lights in the distance. A city!

A young woman looked at the ice in the forest. Scratching her head, she went closer. Who the hell did this?

Although frozen regions existed in the Draconic kingdom, namely the mountainous regions, there shouldn't be anywhere that ice could exist where she was at. This had to be a magic caster, but who?

Examining the clearing closer, she found two deep holes, likely made by a mage. She also saw that the trees nearby had no leaves at all.

Whoever did this must have left the area a while ago.

As soon as she was going to leave the area, she heard it. Footsteps! And it was human ones too. Using her Black Scripture cloak which has a built-in stealth enchantment, and with quiet steps walks closer to the noise.

She found a group of four adventurers, each with a black metal hanging around their neck. Perverse thoughts entered her mind.

I never heard the screams of an adamantite before, and this is the best time to hear it.

In an instant, she cast [Ability Boost] and [Greater Ability Boost]. She also ditched her cloak as it was mainly used for stealth anyways, ineffective for combat.

Stepping out in the open where the adventurers could see her, she was oozing confidence, and this was not misplaced, she was fighting Crystal Tear, one of the weakest adamantite teams. They consisted of four members, a swordsman, a druid, and an arcane and divine magic caster. Their party was wildly unequal and their formation was also basic, with a swordsman in front and the casters in the back.

As soon as she saw the prey looking at her body, she faked embarrassment and pretended to cover herself, a sharp grin formed on her face.

The leader, shocked to see adventurer tags on her very revealing armor, spoke, "I am Cerabrate of Crystal Tear, who the hell are you!" He demanded. The tension in the air was immense, and the party took a defensive position.

The tension was broken with an alluring voice, "Ahh… such a night…doesn't it basically call for some fun~." Cerabrate's grip on his sword gets tighter, and his party prepares for a conflict any second now.

"Well~, I'm Clementine pleased to meetcha~," Clementine said, pulling out her stilettos and drawing blood from her hands.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing!?" Cerabrate yelled, his voice full of anger, frustration, and a bit of confusion.

"Just fucking with ya! You know, having some fun~" She answered with a giggle, turning her weapons at the group.

Cerabrate gave a signal, attack.

Instantly, a row of acid arrows was hurled at the woman, but with incredible agility, she easily dodged them all.

Dashing at the leader, she thrust her stilettos at the pure white armor, aiming at the weak arm joints. The loud clang of white adamantite rang out in the silent forest.

Trying to push the stilettos deeper in his armor, her danger sense that she honed throughout the years kicked in, and she jolted backwards, barely evading the overhead swing of the paladin's sword. Out of her peripheral vision, she saw numerous vines swarming at her. Instinctively, she used [Flow Acceleration, the vines slamming on the nearby trees.

A flurry of spells was cast next, trying to press on the advantage. Fireballs and lightning illuminated the dark forest. Only the most veteran of warriors could escape such a barrage. Unfortunately, they were facing a warrior who surpassed human limits, a warrior who stands in the realm of heroes.

She lunged tree to tree, her movements unpredictable and her speed ramping up, making her barely perceptible to the adventures.

As this was happening, Clementine's eyes turned to those pesky magic casters, the druid specifically. They were annoying to deal with, their spells can easily bog down an assassin or enhance their warrior's speed to contend with them. But luckily, they were fragile and the party's specific formation was terrible.

With a quick surge of speed from the martial art [Pace of the Wind, she pounced on the druid.

Panicking, he cast [Clay wall]. But this was all useless, because before Clementine landed, her boots turned a light green and the surrounding air rushed below her feet.

After just centimeters off from touching the wall, the air exploded, and clay dust and fragments splintered everywhere. This also had the side-effect of lifting Clementine 7 meters off the ground, but unfortunately, no one could capitalize on the advantage as the dust prevented any meaningful line of sight.

A beautiful silhouette that the faint moonlight created descended. Two stilettos punctured the druid's eyes, viciously going straight through the skull.

"Shit!" Cursed Cerabrate, "Ethelyn, use the scroll! Maire, cast strength spells! We're ending it now!" He yelled, swiping the dust away from his face.

The feeling of dread was overwhelming, his fellow adamantite teammate died so quickly. He has no choice but to use his most powerful ability, the one who gave him the name 'Holy Lord'.

With a thunderous roar that dispersed the dust, a great amount of divine energy flowed around Cerabrate. The energy formed into giant, angel-like wings, and his armor and sword were covered in a golden hue.

Clementine turned and looked at Cerabrate, a curious expression was plastered on her face. She knew most of the abilities of adamantite adventurers and so do all of the scriptures, but she never expected him to use that ability. The Holy Lord's ability supposedly allowed him to 'borrow' the power of a Principality, greatly increasing his overall strength, but at the cost of decreasing his vitality after the effect is over.

She never expected him to get this desperate, but it doesn't really matter, he is just dragging it out longer, which is just fine with her.

Turning to the mage who sent the acidic arrows, she held up a strange, dusty old scroll, [Greater Flames]. Suddenly, a great wall of fire was thrown at the assassin. Without a second thought, she used [Invulnerable Fortress, utterly surprised by the power of the scroll.

Those cardinal bastards, they didn't tell me they had a 6th-tier spell!

Taking the brunt of the spell, pockets of burnt flesh were all over her body. Damn, that hurt! Trying to catch her breath, she tried to take a few steps back, but much to her dismay, a bright streak of light came out of the smoke.

A large grin formed on Cerabrate's face. This was the attack plan: attack her with a 6th-tier spell, that should kill her or force her to use her defensive martial art, if that didn't work, then she would at least be blinded, perfect for the Ultimate Flash Strike to kill her. No beastman had ever survived the Ultimate Flash Strike, and this wasn't even accounting for the new power of his new form.

But as the sword should have struck her charred flesh, he heard a mutter, [Invulnerable Fortress]. The weapon stopped immediately, it felt like it hit an adamantite wall. Shit! Desperately, Cerabrate attempted to use his own defensive martial art, [Fortress, but before he could activate the martial art, he heard another mutter, [Flow Acceleration].

In a blink of an eye, a long slender blade tore his jaw apart, and a piece of his tongue dropped on the floor.

Red stained his white armor, and hiccups of blood were all anyone could hear for a while, but it stopped after Clementine's other stiletto pierced his throat.

The darkness of the night consumed the illumination of the Holy Lord's form.

The two mages froze and blankly stared at their leader's body. This only lasted for a moment as the arcane mage prepared to use [Fly, but before she could get a meter off the ground, a mithril mace was screeching at her. The cracking of the skull satisfied Clementine.

Turning to the divine mage who was kneeling on the floor, a steady stream of tears dropped on the ground, Clementine laughed, "Time to have some fun."

Walking in the Red Ash Forest in the dead of night was a man holding a journal. His hands moved the pen elegantly across the white paper.

These spectacles were a good investment,' the man concluded. The design of the spectacles was simple; they looked like regular reading glasses. The only thing that stood out about them was the faint glimmer of glyphs imprinted on the sides.

It took me quite a long time to produce these magical spectacles, the testing and retesting of these runes stole most of my time.

Looking back on his paper, he realized he stopped after writing three pages in his journal. It was an impressive amount in such a short time, yet the look of dissatisfaction was evident on his face. 'It's disappointing how little activity there is here in the forest at night,' He lamented in his mind. Stuffing the journal back in his bag, he grabbed his glasses and touched his glowing rune. Abruptly, the rune stopped glowing and a new rune behind it shined.

His vision shifted, his perception of the forest was still black and white, but it got much darker. 'This should allow me to see any heat signatur–', His thought was interrupted by the pure black hole in his view.

How strange.

Walking carefully near the black void, he spotted five figures, a party of four standing in front of a half-naked woman whom he was behind. Although he could hardly hear the conversation of the five people, he could pick up on the fact that the party were adventures and the lone woman was likely deranged.

As he tried to get closer, so he could process the strange situation he was in, a magical spell flew at the woman. The speed at which the woman dodged was barely perceptible to him.

I should not get myself involved.

As he tried to step away, he saw a piece of cloth out of the corner of his eye. Using the end of his naginata to pick it up, then moving ten meters away, he used his talent on the robes.

[Appraise]

Immediately, a wave of information flooded his mind. His talent increased the strength and potency of appraisal, allowing him to evaluate any item with incredible accuracy .

Huh, a magically enchanted mantle, the orange hairs on the cloak likely belong to the woman, but the most worrying aspect is the spell enchanted on this, [Complete Invisibility, quite terrifying. The woman must have a large backing or be incredibly influential to afford such equipment.

He was at a crossroads, should he steal the mantle? Likely earning the wrath of her and her backer, or should he leave it be? Resigning himself to a fate where an undetectable, psychopathic assassin could easily kill him.

It was barely a choice, he equipped the enchanted cloak under his robes, activated the enchantment, and stealthily walked backward.

Once he was a distance away from the battle, he sighed in relief. He was sure he picked the right choice, the woman single-handedly took out three skilled adventurers in just over a minute.

That could have turned bad, but luckily she was distracted on torturing.

Taking out his map and looking at his surroundings, he could pinpoint his general location.

I should arrive at Marane soon.
