Who raised Naruto? This series of stand-alone vignettes explore Naruto's pre-manga/show life. I will stay as close to canon as possible. It does portray the 3rd Hokage, as well others, in a painful light, but hopefully showing why they made their choices and how Naruto is able to move beyond his personal trauma.

The ones closest to someone who ends their life are the ones who need the most help but they don't get it. The stage of grief denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

What if Naruto never came back from the Valley of the End? To die at the hands of the man you thought was your best friend. How will this impact Sakura, knowing her teammate died trying to fulfill his promise to her? Knowing that neither teammate will be around for her anymore? All alone, she turns to her oldest friend, and slowly the wounds begin to heal. The wounds of guilt.
