When the Flock went to the hotel to talk with Fang and his gang, they expected there would be some drama and probably a lovers quarrel between Max and Fang. What they weren't expecting was for another bird kid and his mysterious friend to crash through the ceiling nor to learn they were from the future.

Ari Batchelder's only episodic memories from the past fourteen years are of his nearly a dozen deaths, but he's still alive and kicking. He tries not to think about all that, though, and prefers to stay focused on his work. Conveniently, his work today is Ivy, and she's pretty enthralling.

I looked out towards Fang as he stood about 25 feet away from us. The rain water dripped off his dark hair and down his soaked body, but he stayed out there, keeping watch. He slowly extended one wing, testing the wind lightly. He then extended the other wing. I watched as he then jumped into the air and unfurled his wings out hard, the wind snatching him up instantly.

After saving Angel, the cracks begin to appear in the Flock. Max is struggling with herself, and the rest of the Flock are having doubts. The conversation of what went wrong needs to happen, but how will that affect the way they all feel? What will the impact be?

Max is jealous of a comment Fang made and he shows her what he really thinks of her. Slight lemons.

Life sucks when you're a mutant bird-kid on the run. Especially when you're the leader of the Flock. So when Max sees a shooting star, she makes a wish. But sometimes what you wish for isn't what you want. : : : "I wish the School never existed."
