Chapter 1: New Opportunity
"Hah..." Sighed an auburn-haired man with a white shirt and blue pants, as he sat on the porch of his home while gazing at the moon with a saddened look on his face. Since tomorrow was going to be the death anniversary of his father's death, and even though that was part of his sadness, it wasn't the only reason why. It was his sister since she was extremely saddened by this fact, so much so, that she didn't have her usual smile today. And no matter how much he and his wives tried to cheer her up, they couldn't which further cemented his sadness.
"Honestly old man, I wished that you'd been here." He said to himself while continuing to look at the sky with a thoughtful gaze.
"If you've been still alive, then Illya wouldn't be this sad." He once again spoke to himself, but then he heard the voice of one of his wives.
"Shirou."
At that moment he turned around and saw his wives there looking at him with clear worry.
"Hey." He said with a sad smile.
None of them spoke as they all sat next to or near him trying to comfort him.
"You know that your father would have been sad to see you like this." Said Rin as she held his hand.
"Nee-san's right Shirou, we know that you're hurting to see Illya like this. But you shouldn't be alone." Said Sakura in clear worry.
"I know it's just that..." He muttered while looking down.
"We know Shero, that's what makes it worse." Said Luvia with a frown.
"Illya's time is running out, and the notion of your father's death anniversary is tomorrow, it's making not only her to remember that her time is running out, but also us." Said Caren with a frown as well while clenching her fist.
"If only we had more time, then maybe we could find away!" He said with tears treating to spill from his eyes as Artoria hugged him.
"Shirou please calm down." She spoke in clear defeat in her voice.
"But if only..." He muttered as Rider grab a hold of his other hand and simply spoke.
"Even though it pains all of us, we must make all this time left to give Illya a good life, so that she can be happy even at her final moments."
They all remained quiet as they contemplated what Rider just said, especially for Shirou since it was his sister's life that they were talking about, however, Rider spoke once again.
"But first let us rest, since after tomorrow we can plan."
At this, they all nodded, and they all proceeded to go to bed while thinking of starting their plan. However, what none of them knew at that time was that, because of Shirou's wish to see Illya have a long life. A certain troll would give him that wish while fulling his endless boredom at seeing this new adventure that awaits them.
As he was waking up he noticed something odd, it was extremely bright, which was weird since usually the sunlight that filtered in his, and wives room wouldn't have been this bright. That was the first thing he noticed, the second was that his wives weren't next to him in their shared futon, which made him concerned.
With that said he opened his eyes and the first thing that he saw was white. It greatly confused him at first, but he disregarded that thought as he looked around, and thankfully his family was there with him. They were all in this white void sleeping soundlessly, and unharmed, which made him release his breath in sheer gratitude that they were all safe. But now that he calmed himself, he started to wonder.
"Where are we?" Muttered Shirou in confusion, as he looked around.
He couldn't see anything except for the white void that surrounds them, so with that said he went towards Rin to wake her up.
"Come on Rin, we have a situation." He said as he tried to wake up his first wife.
"Hmm, Shirou what's wrong?" Said Rin as she started to wake up.
"Look around." Said Shirou with a serious face which confused her until she noticed that they were in a void of white.
"What the..." She muttered with wide eyes, and her mouth slightly agape, but then she shook her head and looked at her husband with a serious look.
"Wake the other's up. We need to figure out why we're here?" She told him as he nodded and proceeded to what she told him.
As they both woke their family from their slumber, they all were surprised that they were now in this void, but at the same time, they were all relieved that they were unharmed and that they were all together.
"So, Rin, do you have any ideas?" Said Illya as she looked around the void.
"Well, I do have some theories, but they all lead to one person." She said in a frustrated tone which confused all of them until they all remembered that there was only one person that could make her be this annoyed (except for Luvia), and that was.
"Zelretch." They all said at the same time in a tired tone.
"You called?" Said an amused voice, which caused them all to look around until they saw a portal open near them, as they then saw Zelretch coming out of that portal with a shit-eating grin.
"Hello, Emiya family! How are you on this fine day?" He said in a joyous tone which earned him a deadpan stare from everyone including Sakura herself.
"Zelretch cut the act, why did you bring us here?" Said Rin while crossing her arms together, as the rest of her family glared at the man since they all know how he usually acts.
"Hey, hey I only just fulfilled a wish." He said while putting up his hands in defeat.
After they heard this, they all were confused by what he said, until Shirou remembered what he said last night. At that moment his eyes were wide open which Zelretch noticed and had caused him to have a smirk.
"I see that Shirou knows what I mean."
At this, they all looked at Shirou with a confused look.
"What does he mean Shirou?" Asked Artoria for all of them there.
When Shirou heard her, he let out a breath, as he then looked at Illya and gave her a small sad smile which confused her. As he then looked at his wives and spoke.
"Last night, I wished that Kiritsugu was here with us so that Illya doesn't need to be sad." He said in a tired tone as he then looked at Zelretch who was still smirking. "And I guess that you managed to do it?" He asked which earned him a nod.
By this point, they all were shocked by his wish especially Illya since she had tears in her eyes by her brother's endless consideration for her. However, everything seemed too good to be true so she asked.
"But why?" She asked with a confused look.
"Yes, knowing you, you wouldn't care about this. So, what are you up to Wizard Marshall?" Said Caren with a cold glare.
At this Zelretch simply let out an amused chuckle, as then gave answered her.
"While you are correct. I did do this on the greatest intentions." He said which earned him a raised eyebrow from all of them there.
"You see of a lot of versions of all you out there, you're the ones that got a bittersweet ending of the war. So, because of that, I decided to fulfill young Shirou's wish, while also clearing a bit of boredom for me." He explained which shocked them all by the sincerity of his tone, but then his tone became serious.
"That and this little "gift" of mine, can help young Illya in having a long life." He further explained which surprised them further, however, there was still a nagging part in their mind, and Luvia spoke out for all of them.
"With all due respect Zelretch-san, but what's the catch?" She asked with a serious gaze since she knows better than anybody how Magi works when it comes to debts being owned.
"Haha, I see that you're all sharp as ever, fine I'll tell you." He said in an amused tone, as he then extended his arms in an expressive matter.
"I would like you all to go a different word!"
At this they all had wide eyes since to help Illya, and to fulfill Shirou's wish, they'll need to leave their old life behind. They all remained quiet at first until Artoria stepped up.
"Zelretch can you give us a moment to talk amongst us since this is a big decision." She said in a regal tone.
"Yes, of course, take your time." He said while lazily waving his hand.
They all nodded their heads as they went further ahead and spoke.
"So, what do you all think?" Said Caren seriously.
"I don't trust him, it just seems too easy. And knowing how he acts by what Nee-san, Luvia, and Shirou told us, it's worrying." Said Sakura with a serious look as well.
"True but what if he's correct." Said Rider, which caused them all to grimace since they don't trust the old troll. As they mused over this fact, a voice interrupted their thoughts.
"It doesn't matter."
When they all heard her, they all looked at Illya with a confused expressions. While she had a determined look, as she looked at her family.
"Illya, what do you mean?" Asked Shirou in a confused tone.
"What I mean Onii-chan is that it doesn't matter if we need to go to a different world. Since we'll be together, that and plus." She said, as she then gave them all a beautiful smile.
"I want to live beside all of you for a long time, even if it means that we need to live in a different world, that and I can meet papa again."
After they heard, they were all surprised at first, but then they all had smiles since they also wanted to have that as well.
"Well, I guess the answer is pretty obvious right?" Said Rin towards everyone as they all nodded their heads.
After that, they all went back towards Zelretch who still had a smile on his head.
"So can I know your decision?"
"We do, however before you send us to this world, you must tell us about it. And to bring Kiritsugu Emiya here." Said Rin for all of them there.
"Well, I was going to do it anyway, but it is reassuring that my former student still has her sharpness still." Said Zelretch as he snapped his fingers and two figures appeared.
The first one was a male with tan-like skin, he had white hair, and he was wearing a red and black outfit. The second one was a pale-like woman, with white hair and red eyes, and she was wearing an all too familiar dress. They were confused at first but when they saw each other they were surprised, as they saw each other.
When the group saw them, they immediately knew who the first one was even though he had a drastic change to his body. However, for the second they didn't know her except for one of them who had tears in her eyes.
"Mama, papa?" Said Illya with tears flowing through her eyes.
When they both heard her, they both immediately looked at her in shock as tears started to go down as they both yelled out while running to her.
"Illya!"
At this, Illya didn't hold back as she ran towards her parents, as they then hugged each other while crying.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Cried out Kiritsugu while holding both his wife and daughter.
"My sweet Illya." Cried out Irisviel in tears.
"Mama, papa." Also cried out Illya while holding both of her parents greatly.
This was all seen by Shirou and his wives who all had smiles on their faces.
All three of them cried their hearts out for a few minutes until they finally calmed down. At that moment Zelretch spoke up.
"Even though I am happy for this reunion, they're some people who I'd like you to meet."
At this both Kiritsugu, and Irisviel was shocked that the Wizard Marshall was here, but when they heard him, they were confused until they both saw Shirou and his wives who had smiles.
Irisviel didn't know who they were, however for Kiritsugu it was different when he saw the man in front of him. He immediately remembered the boy that he saved from the fire, whom he later adopted as his son.
"Shirou?" Asked Kiritsugu with a shocked look as he saw his son right there in front of him.
"Hey old man." Said Shirou with a smile, at seeing his father once again.
Kiritsugu started crying in sheer joy at seeing both of his children there since now, he truly can be at peace knowing that they're safe and happy, but then he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He then looked back and saw that Iri was giving him a concerned look.
"Kiritsugu, who is he?" She asked as she was confused by whom this young was.
At this Kiritsugu had a rare smile which shocked Irisviel, as he then said in a joyous tone.
"He's my adopted son."
After hearing him Irisviel was surprised as she then looked at the young man's eyes. You see as the old saying goes "The eyes are the soul". She immediately looked at them to get an understanding of him, and what she saw surprised her but then she had a small smile, as she then asked.
"Young man, what's your name?"
At this Shirou smiled at her since he can already guess that this was his father's wife, thus making her be a part of his family as well.
"Shirou Emiya, ma'am."
"Shirou Emiya." Said Irisviel in a thinking tone, as she then walked towards him, and suddenly gave him a hug which surprised everyone.
"Since your Kiritsugu's son, then that means you're my son as well." She said in a tone of finality, which surprised them all. Especially Shirou since he never had a mother, after the fire that is, but he then smiled since the warmth that he felt from this hug felt nice.
"Okay...mother." He said with a kind smile, as she nodded at him while separating from him.
This was all seen by Kiritsugu who simply smiled at seeing his wife his son, as her son. But then he suddenly Iri's voice in a happy manner.
"Saber!"
At that moment Irisviel suddenly hugged Artoria with a huge smile.
"My you look so beautiful now!"
"Thank you Irisviel." Said Artoria with a smile on her face at her old friend, as she also hugged her.
However, at that moment Artoria saw Kiritsugu's face which held regret at seeing her, but she mouthed to him "I forgive you.", which surprised him at first, but he simply smiled at her.
They both continued to hug each other for a few seconds until Irisviel noticed an important factor.
"Ara~Ara And who might these beautiful ladies be?" She said in a teasing tone which caused Shirou to blush a bit much to his wives amusement since they knew that he was embarrassed at the fact that they were going to be introduced to his mother.
"Well, mother these are my wives, including Artoria." Said Shirou still with a blush.
When both Kiritsugu and Irisviel heard him they both had wide eyes, but their attention was gained when Rin presented herself.
"Hello mother, father, I am Rin Emiya formerly known as Tohsaka, I am Shirou's first wife." She said with a grin as she looked at her husband.
When they heard her, they were shocked that Shirou married a Tohsaka, but then they heard Artoria.
"Even though we already know each other, still let me introduce you properly. Hello Kiritsugu, and Irisviel I am Artoria Emiya, Shirou's second wife." She said with a smile.
They were surprised by how beautiful Artoria looked as she smiled, but they were surprised that their son married a Heroic Spirit, but once again their attention was drawn by Sakura.
"Hello mother, father, I am Sakura Emiya, formerly known as Matou, I am Shirou's third wife." Said Sakura with a smile, which further shocked the parents by the fact that he married the Overseers of Fuyuki. But once again their attention was drawn by Rider herself.
"Rider Emiya, Shirou's fourth wife." She said with a small smile.
They couldn't hold in the surprise that Shirou not one, but two Heroic Spirits, but then they heard Caren.
"Greeting's mother, father I am Caren Emiya, formerly known as Hortensia, I am Shirou's fifth wife." Said Caren with a small smile.
"And I am Luviagelita Emiya, formerly known as Edelfelt, and I am Shero's sixth and final wife." Said Luvia with a regal smile.
As they all finished, both Irisviel and Kiritsugu were extremely surprised by their new family members, but at the same time they noticed that they were all good-hearted people while being a bit mischievous, they knew that by the look their eyes which greatly made them grateful that they're son choose good people as his wives. But Irisviel still spoke out her thoughts.
"Even though I have many questions, let me still ask you all this." She said in a serious manner which confused them all.
"Do we have any grandchildren yet?" She asked with a smile, which caused all of Shirou's wives, and Shirou himself to blush.
"W_Well not yet, but we plan to." Said Rin for all of them while having a massive blush.
"Oh goody, then I do hope that it's soon!" Said Irisviel excitedly, while holding her hands together, as she then proceeded to talk with all of them there.
And while this was happening Kiritsugu walked up to Shirou with a proud smile, with Illya in tow.
"Honestly, it feels surreal that I still remember you trying to help around the house when you were barely eight. And now looking at you, as a married man, makes me realize that I missed a lot." Said Kiritsugu with a sad smile.
"While that may be true, now you have a second chance to be with your family." Said Shirou with a smile which made Kiritsugu chuckle a bit since he honestly doesn't think that he deserves this chance. But his children decided otherwise.
"Yeah papa, now we can be a complete family now!" Said Illya happily, which caused both men to nod at her, but at that moment Kiritsugu remembered something, that he wanted to ask them.
"Even though I am happy, that both me and Iri are here, how did you convince the Wizard Marshall to help you?" He asked as it was heard by his wife as well.
"Oh yes, I was wondering about that as well?" She asked while separating from Rider who had a small blush.
"Well, I can explain that." Said Zelretch as snapped his fingers, and suddenly the wish that Shirou made for Illya's sake entered their heads, including Zelretch's deal.
As they learned this, they both gave their children smiles that filled with love for giving them this opportunity of a second chance, something that they did the same.
"Now that, that's out of the way let's continue with pressing manners." Said Zelretch as he gained everyone's attention.
"The world that you all are going to be in, is where the age of God's has not ended. But do not fret these Gods live in peace with humanity since they decided to let go of, their powers to be with humans." He explained which shocked them all, but as he continued explaining their worries were quenched. Since these Gods live alongside humanity. Taking this silence for him to continue, Zelretch continued with his explanation.
"However, at the same time, that these gods descended, the Tower of Babel appeared. Yes, the Tower of Babel, the one from Christianity. And in its depths, there exist monsters that kill humans. So, to combat this, the gods decided to create groups called "Familia's". Where there they gave the blessing to their "children", which allows them to unlock their potential. These people who are a part of Familia are called adventures. And their job is to make sure that these monsters don't come up to the surface. Now any questions?" Said Zelretch after he was done explaining.
They all remained quiet as they digested the information they were given about this world. After all, you don't hear every day that the Gods help humanity, in this way. So, they were honestly surprised by this. But then Rider asked a question that gain everyone's attention.
"So do we need to be a part of a "Familia" of some God?" She asked with a bit of distaste since she remembered what the Gods did to her.
"Ah yes about that, you don't need to be a part of another God's Familia. Since you'll have your own God." He said which confused them at first until he pointed at Illya which shocked them all.
"Y-You want me to become a God?" Illya asked with wide eyes.
"Yes." Simply said Zelretch.
"Even though I don't mind that it is Illya. But why her?" Asked Luvia for everyone there.
"Well, you see, to save her I need to change her soul meaning to give her Heaven's Feel. Since then, it can help her in having a healthy body." He finished explaining which made them all realize that this could be their opportunity to save Illya.
As they thought this, Illyasviel was thinking about the pros and cons of doing this. But when she realized that this could be her opportunity to have a long life as she wanted, she immediately knew her answer, but she first asked her family.
"Will you all mind if I become your God?" She asked in a timid voice, which caused them all to give her a fond smile.
"We would never mind it, since your our family." Said Shirou for all of them there, which caused Illya to nod her head happily as she then looked at Zelretch with a determined look.
"I accept."
"Good! Now everyone please stay together as I'm going to send you all there." He instructed them as they all huddled together.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot I left you all a present!"
"Wh-" As Rin was going to say something the portal suddenly appeared below them.
"AHHHHH!"
"DAMN YOU ZELRETCH!"
"Haha, Honestly this family is always fun." He said with a laugh, as he opened up a portal went inside it.
