Yes this is a continuation of my Friends series. This will be the last of this series. I am publishing by chapter but they will be posted quickly, just makes it easier to post a few at a time. Jess' past catches up to him once again.

The summary being too long to fit in this space, it is written after my author's note at the beginning of chapter one. But to pull you in, this is a poignant line that fits into the summary. Slim says to the killer, "You don't know Jess Harper."

A collection of short stories about saving the lives that make up Laramie. Each "chapter" is a COMPLETE story, with the saving theme in each. Despite Francie's claim that he "never was much of a hand to write," Jess is undeniably a letter writer. We know he writes to Gil Brady, Galveston's sheriff, Jim Tenny, & to Slim. In the vivid & playful letter Jess sends home in "Duel at Alta Mesa" we hear a mixture of irony, simile, humor, & thinly veiled homesickness. Something that can't be seen shouldn't be feared, should it?

Slim and Jess have always been respectful of women and children of all ages. One April day they come face to face with the evils of child abuse. It will threaten their entire family. Rated "T" for safety. I don't own the characters of Laramie, I just like to play.

Apprehended in Wyoming, Frank Bannister is finally about to stand trial. When Jess Harper, the new hired hand at Sherman Ranch, hears the news, his puzzling actions present his boss with decisions to make about the volatile Texan he barely knows.

Can a woman separate Slim and Jess forever? Note to my readers who prefer women left out of Laramie stories... Trust me!

Chapter 3 has just been added. This is a continuation of the Missing Scenes for Return to Rock Springs. You will need to read Return to Rock Springs and the first three missing scenes first before this segment.

Jess watches while Slim sleeps, recovering from surgery and remembers the many ways Slim has helped him over the years. This "story" is a companion piece to "The Many Ways He Says My Name" but can stand alone. I don't own the rights to Laramie or its characters, I just like to take them out and play.

A serial killer strikes Laramie. Can he be discovered before he crosses off every name on his list? Important note: Due to the nature of this story with a certain identity kept secret, to avoid possible spoilers, please do not read the reviews until you have read the story. -Sorry if your view is as cluttered with ads as mine. I had 7 in chapter one alone.

PART ONE ends with Andy blaming Jess for the loss of his beloved horse, Cyclone. causing Jess to leave the Sherman Ranch. THE SEQUEL continues from where PART ONE concluded. Jess is in search of Cyclone and Andy is completing his probation. Things never go as planned for the Sherman Household. It helps to have read Part One, but each story stands alone.

Journeying home on Christmas Eve, an accidental encounter brings Jess unexpected friendship and unusual gifts.

Merry Christmas to all of my readers! It has become tradition to gift a Christmas story to you (this is the fourth) but I honestly didn't think I was going to get it finished in time. I even prepared to call it the gift that keeps on giving after Christmas day. But I did it with some room to spare. Thank you all for another wonderful year with Laramie. May God bless your 2022. CW

After Jess witnesses a tragedy that causes his nightmares to return he considers a way out.

Images of light and darkness abound this time of year, from Solstice to Hanukkah to Christmas. In a deeply divided world, we are—all of us—in dire need of light, just as the boys were after the terrible darkness and division that marked the American Civil War. Here's a just-10-days-to-Christmas-Eve present for my readers, as the Sherman Ranch family prepares to celebrate Daisy and Mike's first Christmas Day in Wyoming

The U.S. Army, fighting losing battles in border towns between Canada and the states, needs a spy. He could walk away or loose his best friend, his reputation or his life. This is my take on the Midnight Rebellion, season 1 episode 29. What led Jess to ride into danger and how did his family cope with his absence? I don't own the characters of Laramie.

Will anguish about the past force Jess to leave Sherman Ranch forever, or can one special Christmas gift help convince him to stay? (This story resolves a question raised in Memories' Battle Cries and Brotherhood Begun, so you'll probably want to have already read those two before this one, though this story is understandable on its own.)

Very often at the end of episodes, there are reasons for gratitude, even if it is not directly expressed. These short 'snapshots' try to capture some of the other moments which might merit saying an unexpected or humorous or quirky but always heartfelt "thank you ...".

Home for summer break, Andy falls in with a bad crowd, leading to his arrest. When his cronies break him out of jail, they go on the run. While Mort and Slim hunt the fugitives, Jess takes it upon himself to find Andy. As usual, nothing goes as planned resulting in murder, mystery and mayhem. NOTE: This story stands on its own but ends in a cliff hanger. Sequel already in process

He died in Men of Defiance, but can Frank Bannister still finish off all the Harpers?
