Rios is captured and brainwashed by Romulans to believe synths are, in fact, evil, and that he must kill Picard and Soji.

Picard was ninety-four and knew that his existence was limited and thought about Q more than he used to as captain of the USS Enterprise. His thoughts about Q crept into his dream just as much as Data did.
