John Sheppard is recovering from being stabbed by the alien entity that had taken over Jennifer Keller's body in "The Seed" season 5 episode. He receives an urgent message from Earth. It's about his brother Dave. This is the extended version of a story written for the Sheppard/HC Winter Fic Exchange.

He should have just listened to John's constant complaints, came out of his lab for air once and awhile instead of waiting for Sheppard to drag him out kicking and screaming, that mistake was now going to haunt Rodney for the rest of his life. Inadvertently leaving Rodney in charge was a lapse in judgement that Sheppard and Rodney would take to the grave.

It's two years since Rodney's mobility and speech were lost following the Jumper crash and John suspects that despite evidence to the contrary, Rodney has not quite adjusted as well as he makes people believe. When I was sent to live with my father on Atlantis, I quickly realized that everything I believed to be true about him and the universe was a lie. Here, in the Pegasus Galaxy, I found a home. (Part 1 of 3)

The Wraith's plans were foiled again, but at a cost. The residents of Atlantis are suffering from mistrust and paranoia, Cooper more than most. An accident on a simple mission forces her worries elsewhere, however, and Sheppard tries desperately to maintain that all is as it should be.

John has a twin and all hell is going to break lose when she arrives. There will be arguments, romance, jealously and a whole lot of craziness.
