Something that has been kicking around in my head for a while, based on a short prompt by Reddit's u/Koanos and U/Thedaniel4999 a long time ago. (more than 6 months) Premise is that Weiss and Jaune somehow knew each other prior to entering Beacon Academy. This is how I think that could fit, considering Jaune's demonstrated musical abilities.

Miracles had a nasty habit of happening when all hope seemed lost. Belief allowed for the bleakest of moments to become something truly beautiful. Lament summoned Folly in the face of danger. And together they created the Semblance of Hope that bestowed Jaune Arc the strength to protect those that mattered with his sword Durandal and shield Forlorn.

Years after the Fall of Beacon, the Past catches up to Mercury and Emerald...

A random thought led to a joke that calls back ALL the way back to Volume 2. That is all I can think to say without spoiling it.

An immortal wonder the world searching from his next great battle. After a calling from the war gods, he heads to Vale. The question is will the city survive the last Blood son of Odin. There was a year and a half gap between Team VRSZ Volume 3 & Volume 4, and story of RWBY was beginning during this time as well. The members of VRSZ were travelling around Remnant doing their own thing. They were bound to wind up in Vale sooner or later. Though they might not see each other for a while, each of them did have an encounter with four certain young girls from Beacon.

When Ruby fall through the ground at Mountain Glenn, she finds out that Torchwick has an unhealthy interest in her in the worst possible way. Her recovery from the assault is tough, even with the support from friends and family, and Cinder's plans isn't helping at all.

Jaune Arc was supposed to be an ordinary high school student. Jaune Arc was not supposed to help huntsmen and huntresses with supernatural problems that he barely knows how to handle. Meeting that vampire during spring break was a freak accident. His parents said huntsman academies were too dangerous. Turns out high school was no less dangerous for him.
