"Take your hands off me!" shouted Megatron as Elisabeth was trying to style his still quite wet hair. He didn't really know what the purpose of this was, but it was… unpleasant. He felt weird about touching each other.

"Okay, okay I'm done!" she held up her hands in defence. "But now that we're finished, we can go shopping, because we're out of a lot of things."

She picked up the keychain from the kitchen table and signalled Megatron to go with her into the garage. Where there was a car, but not any kind of car. An Aston Martin, which looked like Knockout. Minus the colour, because it was black. But there was no way he would sit in that thing! It was as if he would sit in his medic, which was too wild even for him.

"So, this is your, I mean Merlin's car, but because I doubt you can drive, I will do the honours. Not that I mind, this car is majestic!" she exclaimed excitedly while opening the front door next to the driver's seat.

"I will not sit in this."

"This is only a car. You must have cars if your kind are metal-based."

"That is the thing. Our kind's other very unique ability is to transform into things. Including cars."

"So, you are essentially a car?!" No, this was WILD! There's a half robot, half car alien in her best friend's body! How is this getting weirder and weirder?

"No, I am not a car and do not compare the two."

"But still, I need you to get in because the supermarket is farther away than the hospital and I don't want to walk there. Neither do you. Please, I don't want to start this all over again."

"Fine, you irritating human!" He said giving up the hope that he will ever win against Elisabeth. She was just too persistent. So, he sat in the other seat next to her and they could go shopping.

"Safety belt!" she shouted and pulled a belt out from the top left-side of his seat and pushed it's end into a lock.

The ride was calm and unusually quiet. Megaton watched as the different sized, shaped, coloured cars pass by, some slow, some fast. He saw buildings, one taller than the others, and they were like the ones in Kaon. In a way it felt like home, but also so much different too.

After a moment or two he heard music, because Elisabeth turned on the radio as they were waiting in front of a red lamp.

You're on a different road, I'm in the Milky Way
You want me down on Earth, but I am up in space
You're so damn hard to please, we gotta kill this switch

Elisabeth seemed pleased by the music because she slightly started to move her head to the beat and tapped her fingers on the wheel. Unlike Megatron who found this hurting his audio receptors. It was rare for him to listen to music, the only reason for that was when Orion enthusiastically brought him new songs which they could listen to together later. But what they listened to was way more sophisticated than this. Two other terrible songs needed for them to finally arrive at the supermarket.

But when they went inside it was when he saw what humanity was really like. The supermarket was filled with them, all looking different, doing all kinds of things. The overwhelming bustling reminded him of Cybertron, right before the Great War. Right before everything fell apart.

"Are you alright?" asked Elisabeth, genuinely worried. She knew it might be too early to bring him shopping, while he is disgusted by humans, but it was still better than leaving him alone at home. However, he didn't seem to respond to her question, so Elisabeth put one of her hands on his shoulder and turned him to face her. "Megatron, are you alright?"

"Why would you care about my wellbeing?"

"Because as you see, you are my responsibility and I don't usually take my responsibilities lightly. So? Is it about the crowds? We can avoid them if you want." It was quite funny even to her how considerate she sounds, when less than an hour ago she was ready to drown him for talking back to her. But maybe the look he gave her when he begged not to be pushed back moved something inside of her. It was not a good sign.

"Yes, avoid them if we could" he answered her question as he swept Elisabeth's hand off his shoulder. "And no touching."

"Sorry" she looked away as they continued inside, towards the fruits and vegetables. When they arrived Elisabeth pulled out a list and started to search for the items that are on the list.

"Is this all food?"

"Yeah, this is all food. More precisely fruits and vegetables, we usually use them to make different kinds of foods."

"You use food to make food?"

"Yes" she looked at his confused form which seemed to scan everything he could. "We have basically infinite food combinations, so sometimes it's too much and we don't know what to eat. We just sit there thinking: oh, what should I make?"

Elisabeth thought this might break the ice and make him laugh or saying something like how stupid and puny her race is. Instead, he stood there staring into the nothingness. It was worrying.

"How can it be that you have this much choice in these trivial things?" he asked looking down at her.

"Maybe…" She needed a few minutes to think about it, because this was a tricky question. "Maybe because everybody and everything tries to survive and evolve in its own way on this planet. Doing its own role. And we have so much freedom in eating, because we're on the top of the chain. We like to think that everything is beneath us, when in reality without for example this apple" she picked up a big, red apple "we would die."

"So, everything on this planet seeks balance." It was more like a question than a statement as he was greatly surprised by how Elisabeth spoke about her race and planet. It was unusual to have a philosophical conversation this deep even with a Cybertonian, but with a human?

"Except us. Humans only seek chaos; we take but never give."

"I thought you were supposed to be stupid" he stepped closer to her and now not because he wanted to threaten her. "But you managed to exceed my expectations."

"You had expectations?" she snorted and started to laugh, while putting back the apple to the others next to her. "That's very… gracious from you Megatron."

And that sentence made him crack a genuine smile. This human… this human was something. Something he didn't count for, but something that he will need in the future.

"Ah, so we do get along in the end."

"It seems we just needed to find the common ground for that. But enough of the chit-chat, we need to do the shopping part of the shopping." Came back Elisabeth to her senses, realising they've been standing here at least ten minutes. Plus, people started to notice them, because the supermarket wasn't the place for philosophical debates. So, she took a bag of potato and put it in their rolling shopping basket and they continued their journey towards the dairy products.

"I have a question. What is the date today?"

"It's the 4th of October 2013. Why ask?" But upon looking back to his face, she saw a forlorn man. His face going pale, his lips trembling, his eyes looking helpless. Looking like Merlin used to, when he was afraid. "Hey, it's okay…" She whispered to him as she stepped closer and grabbed one of his arms.

"It has been three months, not three days" he said, locking eyes with her, and strangely finding calm in her brown irises. This time he ignored that she touched him again.

"What has been three months?"

"It has been three months before… before I…" He couldn't say it. Not here. Not now.

"Before you what?"

"I cannot say it to you, because if I do… I have to accept it and as pathetic as it may seem; I am not ready for it." If he says that he died, out loud, he has to accept it. And everything that comes with it and now he doesn't want even more problems than he has.

"You died, didn't you?" She asked, already knowing the answer. It wasn't that hard to figure out from the information he gave her. "That's the reason why you don't know how you ended up like this."

"Just don't… please…" And there he was, begging to her again. Even though this time it wasn't on purpose, she felt more guiltier than before.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to hurt you…" and she suddenly hugged him. It wasn't like hugging Merlin and it's not because Megatron didn't hug her back, it was because something different. Though she didn't know it yet.

"Then you shouldn't have said it!" he pushed her back so strongly and suddenly, that Elisabeth lost her balance and fell to the floor. Wasting no time, he turned around and went somewhere.

"Where are you going?!" she shouted after him angrily after his outburst. It's not like she killed him or something!

"Away! Far away from you Elisabeth Osborne!" he looked back for a moment, his eyes glowing red (?), then he turned left and was gone from Elisabeth's sigh.

Elisabeth sat on the floor for a few seconds until a woman close to her age went to help her back up.

"Thanks for the help" Elisabeth said as she wiped the dirt off her jeans.

"It's nothing, he was a total douchebag. He didn't have the right to push you like that whatever you two were arguing about" the woman looked at her annoyed as she spoke.

"No, I… surpassed a limit and he snapped, which is totally my fault" explained Elisabeth the situation. "He's not that bad by the way."

"Yeah, you two looked quite romantic in the fruits and vegetables aisle. Are you two engaged or something? I usually see them do what you two did."

"No, no, no! He is… just my friend! And we were in a deep philosophical debate there, nothing romantic!" she said immediately while she blushed a little. It was silly to think that she and a dead, half robot/car alien in her friend's body could ever have anything like romance! "But I think I need to find him, before he gets lost here. Thanks again and have a good day!"

Searching for him was hard, because it was the time when most of the people were shopping, so everywhere she went, she found herself in a crowd. Which weren't helpful at all. Although going between the aisles she put everything in the shopping basket from the list, so when she finds him, they can pay almost immediately. So, after an hour she finally found him sitting next to a wall on the canned goods aisle. He was curled up, so he didn't notice her.

"I've been looking for you, Megatron" and though he didn't answer, she continued. "I am sorry. Really. You asked two things of me and I absolutely disregarded you. Plus, I tried to drown you earlier which wasn't really friendly either. And for the record I thought you were stupid too" she cracked a smile. "Buuuut… At that moment I enjoyed talking with you. I didn't know until now how much I needed someone who I could talk about, not just 'my life' stuff. So… Can we find that common ground again?"

He didn't expect such an honest and kind apology from the human. He even rarely got something like this from his troops and subordinates. So, her words warmed his spark, but he didn't let it show.

"Yes, we can," he answered as he sat up. "And your apology is appreciated."

"I'm glad that we're on the same page again. Sooo… what do you think about buying some sweets, then on the way home, getting some fast food?" She suggested it as a peace offer.

"I have a terrible feeling about this, but since you are my guide, I trust in you. Betray that trust and we will have serious problems."

"Guide… It's fitting. Thanks for the trust and I pinky promise not to drown you in any way."

"What is a pinky promise?" he asked and Elisabeth gleefully held up her pinky finger.

"This is your pinky finger and when you make a promise you have to lock it with each other, then tell the promise. The finger part makes it stronger so you can't break it. Can I touch yours for demonstration?" She asked, remembering that he doesn't like touching.

"Yes" he said, quite unsure, though he held up his finger too and locked it with Elisabeth's.

"I, Elisabeth Osborne, promise to guide you in your journey on Earth." Then a few seconds of silence fell on them and Megatron realised Elisabeth was waiting for him to promise something too. But what? What can he promise if this ritual is so sacred it cannot be broken?

"I, Megatron, promise to keep you safe from now on." Well, it was the only thing he could think of that he could promise. Because after he regains everything, it wouldn't be hard to take care of her, would it? "But now let us continue this shopping and please tell me more about these 'sweets'."

"Gladly."
