In which a Potter and a Malfoy become friends through a certain straw hat wearing boy.

Harry Potter carefully stepped off the train, following after him were his new friends. Ronald Weasely and Hermione Granger.

Along the way, Hagrid escorts the new wizards and witches in training to small boats. Which led to the vast lake, that was connected to Hogwarts or was a path to Hogwarts.

They all had lanterns, Harry and Draco spotted Luffy with a chubby boy, chatting and teasing along. Both were struck with jealousy, well, Draco more so than Harry.

With Harry, he immediately shook his head once he realized why he was jealous. This is Luffy and judging the boy by the way he always attracted people, wizards, witches, and muggles a like. He was a social butterfly and was already making new friends despite not even walking on the grounds of Hogwarts yet.

Draco, however, is a bit possesive. He could recognize that fat arse anywhere, that was Neville Longbottom. The child of Frank and Alice Longbottom, how dare that nervous wreck breathe the same air as him?

(A/N Draco gives off Yandere Sabo vibes smh-)

After the short boat ride, all the first years gathered and walked up the large cement stairs to the entrance of Hogwarts. One of their new professors, Professor Mcgonagall. Was waiting for them at the entrance.

"Welcome to Hogwarts." The group of students stop at the very top, some were still down a few levels due to the numbers.

"Now, in a few moments you will pass through..." Luffy immediately tuned out the woman's voice, looking around the area.

'This place is big!' He couldn't contain his 'shishishi', and that laugh was recognized by somebody who had a peculiar long nose boy.

"Luffy?" Brown eyes went wide as the straw hat-wearing boy snapped his head to the one who called out to him. It was...!

"Usopp!" Luffy whisper-yells and pulls the unsuspecting long-nosed wizard into a tight huf, which he had graciously returned.

"How have you been?" Usopp only grinned, it's been a while since he last saw his best friend when he and his grandfather moved away to Spain. And to know that he also was invited to this Wizarding School delighted the long-nosed boy.

He began telling a tale that Luffy knew was just a falsehood, but he had missed these imaginary stories, so he would just giggle along in some parts when Usopp says he did something brave.

"You all will be sorted into your Houses." Luffy and Usopp then turned their attention back to Professor Mcgonagall, the bushy-haired liar suggesting they should continue the tale later.

"They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin." She had given all four house names, Luffy didn't care if he had to be seperated from his other two new friends by the house sortings, he'll break rules if he has to!

"Now, while you're here. Your house will be like your family, your triumphs will earn new points. Any rule breaking and you will lose points, at the end of the year, the house with the most point-"

Luffy was shuffling up to the front, the Longbottom heir realizing why he was being shoved to the side. "Trevor...! C'mere buddy, we don't wanna get you squashed, now do we?" The little frog jumped into his palms, "Sorry Prof..." Professor Mcgonagall raised an eye brow in amusement as Luffy handed the frog over to his owner. Who was none other than Neville Longbottom.

"The Sorting Ceremony will begin momentarily." The woman turned around and left.

"Is it true then?" A sudden young voice boomed, making all the heads turn to him. The Malfoy heir smirked, "What they're saying on the train?"

Luffy shook his head, amused. All Draco wants is to be acknowledged by the so-called Boy who lived.

"Now, now. Malfie, be nice." Deciding it was time to step up, Luffy makes his way beside the Boy who lived. Some gasps, others coughed and mostly looked baffled.

"Oh, come on, Monkey. I was just saying the truth, the Boy who lived finally returned to the Wizarding world. The place he had always belonged to." Malfoy groaned at the interruption; Harry giggled at their interaction.

"Pardon, Luffy... You know him? He sounds like a decent guy." Draco staggered at that, wow... He was actually acknowledged by the Boy who lived! Ron recoiled and became a bit hostile.

"Harry! How could you say that!?" Luffy and Harry looked at him, equally confused.

"That's Draco Malfoy! He's from one of the most horrid pure blood lines!"

"Pure blood...? Does that automatically make him bad? Just because he has pure blood? And does it also makes us half-bloods and muggle-borns bad? You see, this is why this feud exists in the first place." Ron, some half-bloods and Muggle-borns halted. Well... They didn't think about it like that.

"You see, there's a thing called in the 'muggle world' called perspective. It varies with each person, for Malfoy. The only reason he has with despising 'impurity' is because of the fact his parents had imbedded that belief into his head. Unlike you, you were born into the open-minded family of Weasely." Ron's eyes went wide. His family was open-minded.

"Your Father, who is great friends with my own Dad. Is interested in the muggle world, wanting to learn about the muggle-born's people. Now, imagine this." Luffy stalks forward, not even bothering to notice the Professor who was most impressed at the boy's emotional and psychological intellect.

"You are born into a family that practically worships 'purity'. You're parents don't care for you because they have it in their minds that house elves would take care of you, the only time you would ever be useful to them, is when you get a good mark in a subject or get a good name in the Wizarding world." Luffy was right in his personal space now.

"Malfoy probably heard about the Boy who lived, you know? The one who was born in one of the oldest pure blood lines! The one who had reduced his parents murderer into ashes! He wanted to impress Harry because he holds him in high regard, because the Boy who lived achieved a great feet. And his Father probably always told him to make a good first impression, but there's the problem." Luffy's tense shoulder slacked, breathing out.

"Malfie doesn't know what even is a good first impression." Ronald Billius Weasely remade silent for a while until Professor Mcgonagall cleared her throat, digesting that information that came from an upcoming great Wizard.

Harry couldn't help but look at the straw hat-wearing boy in awe.

Malfoy felt his eyes sting a little, he shakes his head, No. He can't cry here, maybe later in somewhere private.

Someone had just stood up for him without being bribed with money... But because he was regarded as a friend.
