Kaia Brooks, winner of the 69th Hunger Games, knew that the Games still went on when you stepped out of the arena, but when she was forced to accept an unusual request from one client, that involved fellow victor Finnick Odair, they crossed a line. She couldn't accept that life anymore. The capitol would soon see that they went too far. Fire and destruction were coming their way.

Pain and nightmares haunt Juniper, the victor of the 140th Hunger Games. With the guidance of her former mentor, Juniper begins to forage her way through the chaos and frustration of trying to mentor her first year as victor. Perhaps it would be more manageable if her tribute had better prospects, or maybe if unwanted rumors didn't get spread to the eager gossips of the Capitol.

"Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it." As Panem prepares for the death of the only president most of its citizens have ever known, both the tributes in the Games and the officials running them must take care to learn from the past - lest the same mistakes come back to haunt Panem's future.
