Chapter 7: A Dark and Story Night.
Lincoln's P.O.V:
- L-lincoln… is that!? – Lola's shocked face and insecure voice is quite a cute sight to behold, I knew that this could probably fix whatever problems she could be having with me as of lately, though that was before I knew the real reason why she was doing "that"… Still, I don't regret writing this as I actually had a lot of fun doing it myself! Plus, I think there's a certain charm of continuing this story with someone as active and passionate as my little sis, perhaps it could lead to something truly amazing, or maybe just a fun little "family project" to show to others and laugh at the good times!
- Yeah, I kind of liked the story that we had going on with the others myself, so I took it upon me to actually put it in paper with some drawings, what do you think? Wanna give it a go? – I sheepishly asked Lola, who was still mouth agape and looking at me with the biggest eyes I've seen yet.
- Are you kidding!? This is amazing! Thank you so much Linky! – Lola suddenly got VERY emotional as her eyes became teary and startled me with an even stronger hug than the one before, making me almost lose all my air at the surprising strength of the grip – Yeesh is she really 7? – I thought as I was being squished by my otherwise reserved little sis.
- Ok ok that's enough hahaha, it's better if I get to survive so that we can actually finish this don't you think? – I asked in a funny, if ironic, fashion so that she could actually release her iron-tight grip In me and let me breath, I wasn't really used to this much sister love, specially Lola love, but I was still finding myself quite happy at this situation, so I just laughed it off. – Sorry Lincoln! – Lola said as she finally got the message and let me off the hook, she proceeded to place her head in my chest as I resumed to read the entire tale from beginning to end, leaving it at the point where it suddenly ended when the lights came back on.
- Wow Lincoln, you remember it really well! – Said a happy Lola as she lifted her head from my chest to look at me in the eyes with the sparkle only a little innocent girl could produce, I was almost dying at the cuteness overload of the scene, something I NEVER expected to see with Lola Loud of all of my sisters!
- Yes, but I mean, it's not over yet, what should we write next? – I eagerly encouraged Lola to bring fort her imagination and continue this cute little tale, I already had some ideas myself of where to go from here, but I was more interested in listening to my sister's spin on the story first before saying anything.
- OK! But first… - Lola snatched the pencil that I was holding with blinding speed – I'm gonna need this! – She said in a very happy tone as she proceeded to take my notebook and write without letting me see until she was done.
– aaand… there! – Lola proudly passed the notebook back to me with a confident smile, which prompted me to read with a cautiously loud voice.
Into the story:
- "Following the union of the crystal shards and the crushing hug of the recovered robot, who we may refer to as 'Lisabot' from now on, Ribbon the frog proudly announced that his job in this gig was done, so he wished Captain Triton, Princess DeLola and Lisabot his farewells and returned to the pond to do… stuff [gross!], Lisabot soon followed suit, granting her new made friends a screw and a cog from her old body as a token of friendship. Leaving Triton and DeLola alone, so after a long and heartfelt good bye, captain Triton decided to hop back on his refueled ship, that is, until DeLola suddenly stopped him and said:
[ - … Lola do I really have to say this out Loud? – ]
[ - Ohh come on Lincoln it was getting good! –]
[ - Okay fine... - ]
- Please Captain, don't leave this kingdom, you could work for me as an amazing knight! –
Triton then said:" -
Back in the real world:
- Wow Lola, you became very fluent as a writer, how did you improve so quickly!? – I was very impressed by the narration written by Lola, despite some typos here and there (which I corrected in my reading), She had managed to make a coherent story with fluid sentences, she really did start training after getting her confidence and liking for reading and I couldn't possibly be more proud as a brother, sure it wasn't professional by any means, but neither was mine and I am supposed to know better here!
- You think so? – In one rare display of self-doubt and not-arrogance, Lola was actually looking for my opinion on her newly obtained skills, I was absolutely delighted by this new Lola, but now wasn't the time for that, I needed to let her know!
- Yes, I trully do! Guess all of those years of me and dad reading you those fairytales actually taught you some very useful stuff ¡, but I mean, even like that, one doesn't just become a good writer like nothing! – I expressed excitedly to further lift her spirits up, perhaps this could turn into a very awesome little tale!
- I'm glad you liked it Linky, but… - Without a warning, her excited expression quickly transformed into a lost in thought one, so my face also fell to match hers, prompting me to muster a knee-jerk question.
- What's wrong Lols!? – I softly asked in a now concerned voice, expecting her to tell me some hurtful memory or something.
- …now is your turn to continue the story, captain Triton – Lola told me in a soft and serious voice tone, but why is she so serious?, of course I'm going to continue the story!
- Yeah, that's what I was just going to do, don't worry Lols! – I offered and excited response to cheer her up, then proceeded to take the notebook, grab the pen and place it right where she left off, now I just needed to answer the request that princess DeLola had proposed to Triton, which shouldn't be hard…
… So why does it feel hard?
