1. Chapter 1

Chapter One:Resurrection

Darkness, that was all, it was my state of being.

I don't know how I died, no clue. One day I'm just leaving work and then nothing.

I never thought of myself as a religious person, but I think we all expect at least something reminiscent of an afterlife.

So with these thoughts coursing through my mind I can't help but ask myself "is this really all there is"

Then as if the universe itself heard my plea a light appeared, an array of lines in patterns that I vaguely recognized. I squint or at least attempt to, not really sure I actually have eyes. The lines begin to rearrange themselves, after a second I realize it's a message. "You have been selected" a moment later the letters shift "Do you accept"

Either stay in this void or leave pretty simple question, without a moment of hesitation I say yes. A screen appears INTERFACE ENABLED

"interface"? I ask aloud. The screen switches "you have been chosen to embark on a journey beyond your wildest dreams, for you are the Player. The world you will enter is very similar to the manga Naruto, however it is not, things that did happen can happen, but in that same sense circumstances that wouldn't happen will happen. Now you'll be given a set of commands you may use to access the system"

I don't move, I don't think I just sit there, eventually the only thing I can think to say is "what the fuck"

I read the prompt describing exactly what the system is. It's a leveling system, one of which the game implies that there is no limit, and in the world of Naruto, the possibilities are endless. With my thoughts gathered I simply say "initiate creation". The abyss shifts turning around me then nothing, except a screen labeled character creation, its the basic starter of any RPG game I've ever played

The first thing that jumps to my attention is clan, one chance that was all.

There are many terrible options, many dangerous, the worst however would be Uchiha. Itachi would kill you no matter if you were a newborn or child. The man would take no pity on that day, so if there are gods don't let it be the Uchiha.

With a heavy heart I initiated the spin, it had to be the longest minute of my life. Finally after what felt like eternity the names began to slow, it passed Hyuga then Nara, finally it stopped on Kaguya. Then it hit me, it really had to be one of the few clans to also be massacred. I had only one option, run. It wasn't all bad, the kaguya was shown to have one of the most unique and versatile kekkei genkais shown in the series. I attribute the points as best I can with the situation I'll find myself in once I'm reborn.

With all of that settled I decide it's time to test fate, I say my final words of this life "initiate rebirth"

My eyes shoot open immediately, I take in breath after breath trying to calm myself down. I can't believe that was real, maybe a lucid dream hallucination anything but i know it wasn't, it was all too real.

I slide of from a cot on the floor there are other kids around me all with white hair and a red dot on their foreheads. I head towards the bathroom and shut the door behind me, I look in the mirror and what I see shocks me.

I'm a teenager, about 5 '5'' and a hundred pounds soaking wet. Unlike the rest of the clan my hair is pure silver, long to my mid back tied in a loose ponytail, I'm also missing the tribal mark on the my face.

'outcast' 'bastard' i think to myself, unaware of my status in the clan seeing as how I'm obviously different from the others here, and as history from my world has taught me being different is more often than not seen as a crime.

I push the depressing thoughts away as I focus on my objective. I need to get away as fast as possible, steal the clans scrolls on the bloodline, not like they'll need them when they defect from the bloody mist and get slaughtered like cattle. There is a secondary objective however, Kimimaro. If I can get him to come with me I'll have one of the most loyal people in this country.

Seeing as how my main goal to even begin my new life is to escape, I allocated half my points to agility and luck, hopefully giving myself the best chance to survive. Now however I have to figure out how to blend in and attempt to go unnoticed as I formulate my plan. Just as that thought crossed my mind I heard a knock at the door."Kenshin, are you going to be in there all morning, there are others who need to use it well".

I quickly open the door to be greeted by a older woman in her late thirties looking very annoyed, i focus on the woman for a moment before a status shows above the the Matron Lvl15.

I blink oddly for a second before I recompose myself and offer an apology before stepping to the side. "Kenshin, make sure you remember to join the other boys for the training session with Rio this morning"

" yes ma'am, I'll make sure I join" I tell the Matron

After the matron heads to the bathroom I head towards one of the other boys my age in the orphanage. I focus for just a moment observing the boy's status, Jaku orphan lvl10.

"hey Jaku what time are we meeting with sensei Rio for training" the boy lifts his head from what he was doing and sneers at me

."Why do you care,your nothing but a bastard, you don't deserve our clans prized training, and if you even think of showing up I'll fight you right there" I stand there dumbfounded over the hostile reaction from a this twelve year old boy, anger courses thru me as I give a sneer right back

"like you could orphan" I say right back then the Jaku lunges at me and we throw each other to the floor, we continue like that until the rest of the orphans pull us apart

"If i see you near the training ground I will beat you to a pulp" Jaku sneers,i scoff and just walk away.

Half and hour later I arrive at the training grounds "good morning Rio sensei" Rio smiles

"well if it isn't kenshin I didn't think you'd ever come I've been talking to miss Kiara about you joining us i don't know how many times "I smile back because this it the first person who seems genuinely nice I've met so far

"my apologies Rio sensei I just finally found motivation", 'yeah imment death might be a good motivation for anyone' I say to myself sarcastically.

I look over and realize Jaku is heading straight for me, I prepare myself for him but before he even gets 10 feet from me Rio sensei steps in front of him "what are you doing Jaku" sensei ask "We just promised on his first day training we'd have a spar sensei, would that be alright" sensei looks at me for confirmation and i give a slight nod.

We both head towards the ring in the center of the training ground and stop on opposite ends waiting for sensei to call the match."The fight will begin when i say go, it will be taijutsu only, to win you must either knock your opponent out of the ring or land ten direct blows" a second later "Are you both ready" "yes sensei" we coursed

"begin". Jaku shoots out running towards me and immediately strikes with a roundhouse kick to my side, i drop low and raise my arm to block but i wasn't ready for the jab right after, I stagger back for a moment before i right myself to go on the offensive

it was a flurry of blocks and dodges before i realized something crucial important, I was at least twice as fast as Jaku. I was so nervous that I didn't realize that he's so much slower.

I immediately capitalize with three quick jabs and a uppercut, he staggers hard before trying to throw a horrible telegraph hook, which i duck slide behind him then slam him into the dirt outside of the ring.

"Match Kenshin wins" sensei states Jaku gets up still dazed before rushing at me, then sensei body flickers right in front of us stopping him in his tracks "leave cool your head" sensei says, Jaku leaves right after still fuming

the rest of the training that day was on channeling chakra which i soon realized i had no trouble with the basics. I could pretty much tree climb without falling by the end so that's progress at least. Thanks to Rio sensei I finally have my first jutsu, the water clone jutsu, one of the trademark mist jutsus. It Took the entire rest of the day to learn by myself but eventually I got it to work.

I realized I had a message on the interface after the match, LVL UP +20 stat points ,Quest Complete 10 stat points added, I smiled. So then a week goes by following this same routine, training with Rio sensei till the afternoon, studying the guard patrols as well as all books i can find about this world. Threw my training and other activities I've discovered a new page in status, "skills"

Finally after a week here I'm ready to make my first move, I sneak out of the orphanage at around midnight, hug the shadows as I traverse the village dodging patrols. Until finally I came upon a cell made into the rock, the boy inside is sleeping soundly,

"hey wake up" I whisper "Huh" the kid groans out, "he notices me and straightens up immediately on guard for a possible attack, "hey kid, why are you in this cell aren't you only like 10 years old you couldn't have done something that bad so soon right"? I ask him with fake curiosity

"the clan head says I'm too dangerous, I'm not aloud to leave" he said with sadness in his eyes

"well you don't seem dangerous to me, I have this plan I'm setting up and I'd really like your help" he looked up at me with a look i couldn't describe "you need me" the boy asked the longing clear on his face

"No Kimimaro we need each other, i have big plans, I want to take this world by storm and with me and you together, we could" I told him

"Why me" the boy asked

"Because kid out of everyone in this country your only one I know if who I could trust with my life" I said with a big smile on my face

"Be ready, in two weeks time I'm going to bust your out of here and we're going to start our journey and leave this shithole of a village in the dust" he nodded so I got ready to leave before i realized "my names Kenshin Kaguya brother I'll be back soon" and with that I left and headed back to orphanage to prepare the final stages of the plan.
