The port city of Nigoshi was not what I expected, it's a run down spec of a city on the ocean side.
Not a Single house fully intact insight, homeless people abound. Honestly it's one of the saddest sights I've seen
"why is this town so run down?" Kimimaro asks me, "corruption most likely, they certainly make a decent amount of money with all the ships in the docks resupplying everyday" I look over on the hill overlooking the city where a modest mansion sits
"there" I point, " I guarantee there's a fat bastard in there surrounded by guards taxing these people to the point of poverty". Kimi looks down troubled
"what's wrong kid". He looks up with fury on his face "can't we do something to help these people" he asks.
I stop, debating to myself if it's even a good idea to cause trouble right before we leave, as of right now we're nobody. At our current level we could barely handle a jonin together, let alone a full squad, if our faces are seen and reported to wrong people we could be hunted before we're even ready to stand before the world.
"Have you been trained in assassination or infiltration" he looks down "no" he says weekly. "How about this, if we can't find someone to sail us to wave by the end of the day we'll scout out the area, look at defenses, and maybe plan a infiltration" I placate the boy who smiles immediately after.
we head towards the docks looking for a hotel and a ride out of this shithole of a country. We arrive at the entrance to the dock a few minutes later finding a young woman manning a stand I can only assume handles arrivals and departures. I walk up and greet the woman "hello, how are you? I was wondering if any ships will be departing towards wave country soon?" the woman eyes me oddly for a moment before she answers "I'm fine thank you, yes there is but only one the ship with the bright red paint job with a eagle on the mast, the ship is owned by a mister Hiro"
I offer my thanks and turn to head into the docks before she stops me, "I'm sorry sir you must a pay the toll to enter the docks'' a toll for just entering that's just ridiculous, "how much" I spit out "2000 ryo sir" she says with a serene smile, I scoff and hand the woman the money.
We approached the honestly awesome looking ship. I see a dock hand lifting crates on board "HI, I was wondering if I could speak with captain Hiro" he looks up from his work "yea kid, he should be up on deck directing the guys loading the ship"
I offer a quick thank you to the man before entering on board. I walk on board , I use 'observe' over the area. It only takes a few seconds to locate him. Captain Hiro LVL35, damn lvl 35 on a ship captain, he's definitely dangerous, you wouldn't be able to tell at first glance, he looks like your average guy long coat all black full beard but he was built about 6'5'' if i had to guess but not much muscle no fat on his body, he looked young for a man in charge of the ship, late twenties I'd guess.
"Hello captain Hiro, my names Kenshin and this is my brother Kimimaro, this is a cool looking ship, most unique in the whole dock" he's looks at me, probably wondering why I'm here" yeah that's me, what can I do for you", "I heard from the receptionist that you were heading to wave country, I was hoping to acquire passage for me and my brother" he seems to be contemplating something before looking up a gleam in his eye" 60,000" he says holding out his hand"30,000" I look up him now holding out my hand, he grabs it so fast I could barely blink
"I expect payment in full, three days from today when we depart for wave" he leaves to go back to directing his men. I looked over to my companion "told you it would be simple" smirking at him.
Well a deals a deal , and I promised him, now I find myself in a tree looking over the mansion. From what I can tell there's only a 10 man guard patrol of regular samurai all barely lvl 25, about 10 maids and workers, It won't be a hard mission.
Kimimaro arrives next to me "what do you think" he asks," we'll have two clones leave and check into our hotel to avoid suspicion, we'll attack at midnight, I'll kill the fat bastard while he sleeps, you will raid, money, weapons, anything that looks worth taking put in this bag" I say as i hand him a duffel bag i had in my inventory," there most certainly is a vault maybe a samurai or two guarding it, they are confirmed kills, seal everything you can into the scroll before filling the bag, after our objectives are complete we'll meet back at the hotel, remember Kimimaro no unnecessary casualties" he nods and we wait,it's only a hour or so before midnight.

The leader is overtaxing his people to the point of poverty while he sleeps in a mansion never wanting for a thing, for these crimes he must be put to death.

As the moon hits I withdraw Mangata and leap out of tree and slip into the mansion, I avoid the first guard by clinging to the ceiling, as he passes I move bolting straight up the mansion to the top floor, hop on the balcony and hug the walls, I silently move into the open window where I find him.
'Observe' Kaito Washio Governor of Nigoshi lvl 10, the only problem is he's not alone, a woman sleeping next to him. I told myself I'd try my hardest not to kill someone who could be innocent but now, it's up to fate, if she wakes she's dead I have no other choice.
I creep silently towards the man, ever so slowly I slide the blade over the man's head. I focus my chakra as best I'm able to create a blue sheen over the blade, by no means am I a master,the aura over the blade is continuously flowing in odd eagles, but I know the cut with be smoother and faster with it then without it, I ram the blade thru the man's head puncturing his skull.
I look at the woman who hasn't moved and her breathing has remained steady throughout the whole process, I smile then turn back to the man as I remove my blade.
I look at my new blade dripping in blood and slice it in a crescent arc into the wall. This will be my moniker to this world, with the mission accomplished and no sign of trouble coming from Kimimaro's side I rush out the compound and head towards the hotel. I arrive at the hotel in record time and slide into the window.

I immediately go into my inventory and withdraw both items, the mask is reminiscent of a stand anbu mask however it is as black as night with a snarling wolf depicted on the front with a pure white crescent moon on the forehead.
'Observe' 'Mask of the crescent wolf' Rank 'mythical' 'grants the user 1.5X to all stats when the moon rises, HOWEVER it will only last for 10 minutes and can only be used once a night', damn that has got to be the best luck I've had yet. I've acquired other gatcha spins before but usually it's just ryo or basic ninja tools, only twice now I've gotten something so worthwhile.
I dawn the mask and immediately feel the boost, stronger than I've ever felt. At this moment it only feels right to quote my favorite green character "I can win, I feel great, I CAN DO THIS!"
At that moment I noticed Kimimaro standing in the window seal. "Were you just monologuing to yourself" he asks with a huge grin on his face, I feel the blush creep up behind my mask "no, it's more like a right of passage, you wouldn't understand" I say a little down.
I suddenly draw my blade and hold it at a ready stance " but what do you think? I look pretty badass if I do say so myself" pride oozing thru me "kind of like a dressed up chibi anbu" Kimimaro states. I stand there dumb founded, when did this blank faced fucker develop a sense of humor, " Kimimaro I will kill you" I say only half meaning it.
he looks back over to me with a deadpan expression "no you wont, I'm your only ally and family left, you'd honestly have to be a complete sociopath to do something so foolish" he says with complete honesty.
"Just throw the loot on the goddamn bed, grab the scroll from the clan as well it's time to figure out our resources and formulate a training program to get us to S-Class as fast as possible, we have a 7 year deadline but I think we can do it in 3, It will certainly take us years but it'll be better to start now"
I first open the duffel bag to my honest surprise on my face, stacks upon stacks of ryo "Kimimaro, are you aware of how much money this is , this is 30 fucking million " he nods not fazed at all, I almost want to scream at his uninterested face.
"Asuma Sarutobi, Rank:A, master of wind and fire ninjutsu, also taijutsu, only son of the of the Third Hokage, bounty 35 million" I say holding up a copy of the bingo book I grabbed from the bounty office of the city. He stands there for a moment then just says "ok"
I fume for a moment before I come to sudden realization "your just fucking with me right, you can't be serious" all he offers back is a smile. I continued back to what I was doing, there was a lot of jewelry and an assortment of random items, nothing really worthwhile.
In the scroll however there were five tantos of normal rank, 5 separate stacks of kunai and shuriken, one katana of rare rank, Immediately handed the blade to Kimimaro who strapped it to his hip. Finally the most valuable thing we have the clan scrolls.
"Oh speaking of which channel your chakra into one of these" I say handing him one of the chakra papers I got from the first major quest, he channels chakra threw the paper and I'm so excited to see what he gets. The paper glows then splits completely in half "lucky man you got wind arguably the best offensive element there is" I inform him
as I continue to open the sealing scroll until he begins to speak, "Aren't you going to test yours as well" he asks me, i contemplate if it'd be just a waste seeing as how I can see my status," might as well, though I'm pretty sure my only affinity will be towards water". I grabbed one of the chakra papers and began to channel into it, it crinkled, no it completely crunches into itself before a few drops of water roll out.
PRODIGY LIGHTNING AFFINITY DISCOVERED- 1 in every 100,000 shinobi are lucky enough to be born so intertwined with their element, you are one of those lucky few.
The first thing that crossed my mind was the lighting armor, one of the most versatile techniques ever shown.
If I could somehow reverse engineer the technique and make it my own I would be S class before you could blink. With my affinity I just might create something greater, only time could tell.
I look over to Kimimaro who has no idea what this meant, I think I'll just keep it as a secret for when we spar next. I go thru all the scrolls, mostly its basic jutsu from D class to B class for all elements, books on history, sadly nothing on the bloodline, it was apparently so rare it happens once or twice in a generation, so that plans shot out the window.
"Kimimaro, tomorrow and everyday after you will be practicing your chakra control, and mastering your element, it will be the hard but I know you can do it, you will have until the afternoon to train by yourself, then we'll spar, work on strategy, and most importantly teamwork we will run drills until nightfall" he nods not even questioning my orders, he knows I'm just trying to help him survive, I a hand him every scroll for wind ninjutsu and pack everything back up. I offer Kimimaro a goodnight then head to bed.
It has only been 3 days since we arrived, training has been extremely fruitful. If dumping a solid portion of my points into luck wasn't the best decision I have ever made, I don't know what is. In two days time I've completely mastered the regular training for the lighting release, I've punctured a boulder completely thru with nothing but lighting release. Then Mastered 1 C Class and 1 B Class lightning release ninjutsu, Lightning Release- lightning web the user places their hand on the ground and release a web of lightning hitting anyone within 30 feet radius of the user, C class, Lightning Release- thunder blade the user runs a pure lightning release thru there blade boosting there cutting power and agility.
I've finally hit lvl 40 thru these two days and have a substantial amount of stat points. However all of that must wait, we have to meet up with Hiro and finally leave the land of water. I find Kimimaro finishing packing "you ready to start our new lives brother" I ask excitement shown thru my eyes "why must you treat every change as a crucial moment that will change the world" the irritated boy said "because I despise this country, corruption runs all the way to the top and nobody is doing much to stop it, and I've never sailed before, this is going to be fucking awesome".
It wasn't awesome, I've had motion sickness for the past six hours, who knew ships sway constantly and jerk occasionally. I had thought since I'm a badass ninja I wouldn't have any trouble with something as simple as traveling the seas. "This will be fucking awesome" said a voice sounding way to similar to mine I look over to see Kimimaro off to the side laughing at my misfortune, "Fuck off" I say before trying to just sleep it off.

Response to reviewers- thank you all for your support and critiques, this is honestly my first story I've ever attempted to right so my pacing might be a little off, but I'm trying to improve
In regards to where I'll go with the story- Kenshin and Kimimaro are partners and friends , their kids, eventually that will change. This story will have alot of killing and violence, so I've been trying to make interactions with kimimaro seem more normal and friendly to give some break to all the violence.
