All that was seen as comforting In the current situation was the crackling of the flames Inside the campfire, relentless as a helping pale hand added fuel to the fire, dry leaves, perfect for burning, her hands looked soft yet rugged, functioning on autopilot as this wasn't the first time they've made a fire.

Sooner or later the newest arrival In thees lands would learn the same.

"So…" He began, his clothes awfully different from the girls, from the more modern age, lacking In the loyalty and high power hers radiated, she looked Important, he did not; His green, confused eyes stared at the flame, flickering to hers.

She simply watched him, waiting for him to get his words out of his throat, that was nice of her, he thought, she seemed collected If not confused as much as he was, afraid even, but that's not the feeling she radiated.

"When did you get here…?" He questioned, she simply rose an eyebrow at the unspecific question, slightly amused, having actual emotion instead of cold seriousness, the boy groaned slightly, looking away and then back.

"I mean when did you get stuck In this world- like me." He placed a hand against his chest, before taking It off, laying to his sides as he now turned to look at the campfire, simply listening as she laughed stiffly.

"Well…" She began, picking up the stick next to her, It's tip burned, she poked the campfire, moving the wood and materials around; Her voice gentle; He wanted to let her speak more, drawn In by her words, maybe even shocked, she was so familiar, but he spoke as he looked at her.

"-And how did you know I was from a different world?" He leaned In as he stared with narrowed eyebrows, the atmosphere went soft, He awaiting her answer, she laughed more, bringing a hand to her mouth.

"You don't exactly dress like the people here, at all, and your clothes don't match whatever era these lands are In." She basically Insulted his dressing style, he looked mildly offended, but nodded slightly In acceptance at her words, she continued.

"And- You haven't got a clue on what to do, like me." She smiled softly, both choosing to Ignore their awkward first encounter.

"Really? You seemed pretty set on beating me up." She looked away awkwardly, her face dropping slightly.

—-

"PLEASE DON'T KILL MEEEE!" A shrill male voice screamed out.

"I WON'T KILL YOU IF YOU DON'T STOP MOVING-!" A female one replied, pissed off.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" It Isn't exactly sure If It was the female voice or the male voice, It sounded really, really girlish.

—-

"Sorry…I was just, a little jumpy at the time…still am." She muttered, he watched her face for a moment, a look of familiarity was on It, I know her, he thought and chose to remember, before sighing at waving It off.

"Ah, It's fine, I- I understand…but when did you pop up here?" He changed the topic Into something more or less fun depending on how she answered because he remembered his, he wanted not to.

But It was fine.

Lumine's look of sadness simply Increased as she remembered, "My brother…" Her voice was barely above a whisper, a crackle In the wind and anemo, he could've reacted to It, wanted to react, to empathize.

But he chose not to, simply allowed her to speak up and more clearly, If she wanted, the air of awkwardness returned as the two travelers from strange lands sat there In silence, both contemplating their fates for all but a moment.

God It was awkward, he chose to quickly try and return to the previous atmosphere, by sharing, or trying to.

"I got thrown here by some unknown god." He spoke clearly enough, It wasn't exactly alike but not exactly the truth, he didn't know for certain what It was; But his voice was gentle, careful as to trigger nothing but her memory, even slightly; She looked back, slowly, staring at the boy In…some emotion, be It empathy, be It anger, be It just…sadness.

"...I don't remember much besides that- except cubes, lots of cubes." He laughed slightly, the both of them were still trying to grasp the situation, Lumine herself has been here for a month or two already, she's been counting, and still, she hadn't moved much from her original spot.

But she laughed as well.

"Yeah…I remember cubes as well, but- why were they so fast?" She began to complain slightly, he laughed again, chuckling softly, even though It hurt Lumine to think about that, she wanted to make good out of a bad situation, the both of them did.

"I know- right? I didn't even get a chance to react till' a got cubed." To death was the part he didn't mention, didn't exactly sound fun did It?

"Cubed? Is that the definition we're using now? Cubed?"

"It's a good definition!" He defended himself valiantly, but the scary women's laughter was not quenched Instead Increased!

"But Is It? I don't want to tell others I was cubed, that sounds stupid." She crossed her arms, shifting on the log she was sitting on, laughing at him, how rude.

"It doesn't sound stupid! Actually, It's pretty brave." He pointed at her as he shrugged, defending his fragile ego as any man must, but she was merciless.

"...Maybe." She relented, "Maybe It was brave of us, foolish, foolish people to try and fight a god." Her voice sounded honest for a moment, hurt but honest before descending to make Into overdramatizes.

"But we fought a god, so…" She shrugged, they did fight god, they also got their asses kicked, hard, both takings falls, some harder than the other, way, way harder, the other? Still hard but y'know, one became a shooting star midway the other almost broke their ass.

The silence turned comforting as both stared at the warm and raging flame that was contained by some measly rocks, weariness fading off as fatigue brought Itself over the two, heavily, both had had a long day, both were tried beyond belief, and both had found a potential friend In this strange, strange world, It seemed neither would be alone as they thought.

Perhaps It wasn't a replacement, he could never be a replacement for her brother because she will find him and she will get her revenge on that unknown god.

The boy?

"What Is your name, anyway?" She asked suddenly, waiting.

"..." It took him a moment, "Michael." He Introduced himself, thus, so will she.

"I'm Lumine." Michael smiled, sighing as he relaxed, he was hugging himself throughout the conversation after the awkwardness came, now he just felt warm, comfortable, and sleepy- It seemed Lumine had the same Idea, yawning openly as she stretched.

"I think we should sleep for the time being, It's already late." She looked around, the ground will do, she sat up, pushing the log away, and sat back down, the ground was cold, but the fire fixed everything with It's warmth.

"Yeah." He did the same, nudging himself closer towards It, It certainly felt odd sleeping next to a girl he kinda already knew In a random forest after being separated from his family for what seemed forever, but… he was tired.

Both layed down, It was slightly chilly, but they had the fire, for the time being, Lumine was a good fighter, Michael was far too stubborn and slippery to die, and so all that was left At that moment was the sullen silence of slumber; Lumine was the first to Immediately fall asleep, the poor girl was just so tired, and It was obvious.

The boy was as well, but he was still processing everything, his brain lighten up by the worries and thoughts he had, so many thoughts, It hurt a little, emotionally, he had so many words he wanted to say but couldn't because of Lumine, she thought he didn't know everything, that he was as confused as she was, another traveler In this world.

Perhaps he was, In a way.

That didn't matter, he was laying on his back staring at the stars, Lumine was turned away, sleeping, or trying to, he didn't know, but he looked at her for a moment In pity, he could only Imagine how It felt being torn away from your only family; He could relate, but, It was best If he saved those thoughts for later, either to be Ignored, either to be shoved down.

Or either forgotten entirely.

He turned back to the stars, constellations visible In the sky, they were all vague to him, but familiar, He knew these were from one of the characters- one of the many people's constellations he knew of, but he didn't remember.

And that was fine, he closed his eyes and dreamt of lands beyond these, dreamt of the future and his fate; Or maybe something entirely different, not like It mattered for now.

It was time to sleep.
