A/N: I do not own the Clover of Black, I am just a enjoyer of it.
Selena didn't say anything as Wilhelm moved past her, not sure how to speak. She did however try to grab his arm to try to comfort her new friend but she missed his arm, watching as he stormed out of the tower, the doors slamming behind him with a loud crash.
A hour later Wilhelm was sitting on top of the roof of the Inn, holding his grimoire and not speaking as he looked out at the high walls that surrounded Kiten. He didn't know what to do at this point and it was due to his grimoire. He had no mana, not even enough to make his book float or glow at all.
The sound of footsteps behind him were heard but Wilhelm didn't react. He didn't really care who it was.
The person stopped when they stood right next to Wilhelm, still out of his sight. "Hey." Selena spoke with a hesitant voice, gaining a nnn sound from the teen. She didn't know what exactly to say at that moment, so she stood there feeling honestly awkward.
They sat there for a few minutes in silence before Wilhelm spoke. "... Not even a drop..."
"... Maybe you have a magic attribute that doesn't need mana?" She tried to be hopeful.
"When you guys used your spells the books moved to those pages right?" He looked at her and got a nod in return. "So each page has a spell or two written down right?"
"Each page has a spell written in what is called runes, and only the owner can see the runes as actually words for their spells."
"How many spells do people start with?"
"Honestly it varies. I heard one of the previous Magic Emperors -the twenty-fifth- started with seven spells, which is considered a lot to start with. Most people have two at most... I had one." Selena admitted.
The teen gripped his book harder. "I... don't have anything written at all. I don't have a single spell."
Selena looked at the book, and went silent again for only a few seconds. "That doesn't mean you can't gain a spell still. Spells are sometimes created in moments of growth or in stress to help us push through."
"I don't even have mana, so would gaining a spell even matter?" He asked to no response. "I can't even become a magic knight can I?"
"Sure you ca-"
"How?!" Wilhelm snapped, his frustration at the situation emerged. "I can't be become a magic knight if I don't have magic!"
"So!?" Selena looked at him with her own frustration. "You defeated three different mages without it already!"
"That was pure luck."
"Magic is luck! It's a chance power we all have! You don't have it and have your own luck instead!"
It was Wilhelm's turn to not respond as he looked up at the girl, who's look of irritation wasn't wavering. He sighed as he looked down at the book. "... I don't know if yelling at someone is the right way to encourage them."
"Sorry, I just didn't like that you were so focused on the negative."
Wilhelm looked at Selena. "Why do you even care?"
"I'm a Magic Knight. I already said it's something we do."
"... So it's your job to care."
"No it's not."
"But you just said that."
"It is expected of us to help people with issues. I said that, but I also said that's why I became one. This isn't an obligation of my role, I genuinely want to help people and I think you need help."
"So it's pity?" Pity was the least thing Wilhelm wanted.
"No!" Selena was getting frustrated again. "It's not pity to help someone get through a challenge or problem they have! Why do you have issues just accepting help?!"
Wilhelm just stared at her, thinking of the answer. He has never been given help before so that affected his acceptance of this. He wouldn't say that to her though, because that would bring pity. Instead he just turned back to looking out to the walls.
Silence took over the area again and Selena ended up sitting down on the edge of the building as well. After another minute of thinking Wilhelm spoke again.
"If I have no mana... Physicality is all I have to work with "
"I think you are actually the only person to think about physical strength."
"Also the only one with a blank grimoire and no mana." Wilhelm looked back at her. "I have a big gap to close and only physical strength and skill to try to close that with."
"I don't think it's that big."
"Magic let's one of you make wings and fly, one of you make a giant golem, a bunch of rock people, and slash at people with the wind. That's a big gap to deal with."
"You defeated the people with half of those things."
"They were paying attention to what's-her-name. If they were focused on me I probably would have died." Again, Wilhelm thought.
"Not if you are quick enough." Selena offered.
"Not if I'm quick enough." He agreed.
The girl clapped her hands. "There! It's decided, first you got to make yourself quick enough to not worry about someone hitting you with a spell."
"A spell is needed for reference."
Selena clapped her hands again. "I can help with that! I have been working on a spell and this can help my accuracy also!"
Before Wilhelm could respond, a beeping sound was heard from a pouch on Selena.
"Ladies, return to base, we got information out of the Diamond mage." The voice of Charlotte came from a device that was the size of a pocket watch.
"You have radios here?" The foreign teen looked surprised. He honestly expected tech to not be as prevalent here as much as his world, given that they would most definitely wrap culture around magic more than technology.
"Radio? Wait does your homeland have things like our magic communication devices?"
"Without the use of magic."
"That's actually neat. And I think radio is a better -and shorter- name for these." Selena stood up. "I know I said I'd help you but Miss Charlotte needs all of us for debriefing."
Wilhelm gave a nod and the girl quickly made her way to the door that led off of the roof, leaving the teen to himself. He turned back to his grimoire and thought for a minute.
There wasn't just no reason for the grimoire to fall off the self. It had to have something in it. So until the grimoire showed whatever it had, he was going to make sure he was as physically prepared for those magic knight exams as he could be. Standing up Wilhelm looked around and started up a plan, one that required him to stay inside the city walls as to not tick off the Blue Roses.
Hours later the sun was close to beginning the process of setting, giving the sky the beginning of a hue of orange.
Wilhelm had not started his plan yet that day, only cooking it up to start the next day. He was now in the main hall of the Inn at a table, reading one of the books that Selena had shown him the day prior.
That reading stopped however as the door to the Inn was opened and an annoying voice was heard.
"Hey punk!" Sol walked across the hall to the teen, who looked up once she got there. "Selena told me about your useless book and everything, and how you needed to be quicker than spells. So I am here to do her a favor and let you use a golem to not be as pathetic."
Wilhelm gained a flat expression. "Where is Selena?" He would definitely prefer the other girl to Sol using their spells on him.
That question made Sol gain her own annoyed look. "She's busy. Sis has some of us working and I have free time."
"Lucky me." Wilhelm stood up, and got promptly smacked over the head by Sol.
"Be glad I am helping you." Sol lectured as she made for the door. "We are going outside the walls so you can't leave my sight."
Wilhelm rubbed his head and thought about the rock he gave the mage Hedri a concussion with, thinking how he may have used it on the wrong Earth magic user. Following Sol his annoyed expression turned to a neutral one. "Didn't your boss say I can't leave Kiten?"
"Sis got word from the capital on you..." Sol stopped walking. "Wait! You have to go to Sis first!" The girl changed directions for the building the Blue Roses were using as a base. "Selena's favor made me forget that Sis said that and that she wanted one of us to find you."
"She couldn't find me herself?" Wilhelm instantly regret his question as Sol gave him a dirty look, but thankfully not another smack.
"Because you have no mana no one can actually tell where you are, stupid. Sis is the captain of the Blue Roses. She has way more important things to do then look for you. Especially since we were stationed in Kiten to keep Diamond from trying anything. Diamond has priority over punks."
"I already killed one of them."
"A fluke, he was focused on me." They arrived at the building from the day before, and before opening the door Sol looked at Wilhelm. "Give Sis the respect she deserves."
The teen had a blank expression and gave no verbal response for a moment, until the girl started to look annoyed enough to consider smacking him again. "I wasn't going to be rude anyways."
"Better not of." Sol opened the door and led the teen inside.
Charlotte was not at the table like before, and Sol lead Wilhelm through this buildings main hall and up stairs to the second floor, down a short hall to a door. Without even knocking Sol walked in. This room was set up as a planning area for the Blue Roses, with a map of the area around Kiten on a table in the center, which Charlotte was standing over and looking at.
"Sis! I found the punk!" Sol announced herself and Wilhelm, who's previously neutral expression became slightly annoyed at being constantly called a punk.
"Sol, call me Captain." The mage corrected her subordinate, and then looked at Wilhelm. "Word about how to handle you has come back from the capital."
"Handle me?" The teen asked.
"Yes, since you are a foreigner and spilled blood upon moments of being here in the Clover Kingdom."
"Blood from a guy who-"
"I was still talking." Charlotte's voice was completely reserved, not showing an actual emotional response to Wilhelm's interruption. "You showed no remorse for killing someone upon getting here, with little context to the conflict you had been thrown into. I believe that should have made you be taken in for psychological examinations before all else, but the Magic Emperor himself has said to pardon you, especially since you did hand us a person to interrogate for information on the source of the growing conflict in the area. Given those additions to what you have done I agreed to not have you detained."
"I'm free to leave Kiten then?" Wilhelm asked. Not that he was eager to leave, he had no idea of what was going on outside this town, but the feeling of being locked in the town was something he wanted gone.
"If you want to, none of the Blue Roses will prevent it. The Magic Emperor has also said that he'd like to meet you and see your magic."
"Wait- What?!" Wilhelm felt shock at the Emperor wanting to see him. "Why?"
"A foreigner is in the country he oversees, it isn't your place to question it. I will inform him of your magic after this." Charlotte left that as a cue for the teen to inform her of the grimoire he got.
"I don't have magic." Wilhelm held up his grimoire, which he had to hold in his hand the whole time since he had nothing to keep it in yet. "The book is blank and I don't know what it's supposed to be about."
"It's because you have no mana." Sol spoke.
"If I could gain mana I would." Wilhelm gave her a look. He turned back to Charlotte, since she was a captain he figured she may know the answer to his next question. "Is there a way to increase mana?"
"I know ways of increasing mana, but those require training the mana you already have."
Wilhelm wasn't even disappointed in the response, it sounded about right. "Am I free to leave now?"
"I have no other words." Charlotte dismissed the two, before turning back to the map.
"Let's go punk! I want to get this favor over!" Sol made for the door. "Bye Sis!"
Wilhelm made a groan of annoyance as he followed, while Charlotte sighed at the title used for her.
Just a bit outside of town, Sol stopped and stepped into a boulder as she turned back to Wilhelm.
"Alright punk! Selena said that speed is what you need. I disagree and think it's power, but either way you lack both and more. So anyways I am going to use my Rampaging Mother Earth and you are going to avoid it and get on its back before it breaks your bones. Got it?"
"Wait." Wilhelm instantly questioned the last part.
Sol didn't wait and instead opened her grimoire. "Earth Creation Magic: Rampaging Mother Earth!"
The rock-made golem quickly rose from the ground and stared at Wilhelm for all of half a second before it tried to swing a massive arm at the teen, who immediately backed up and narrowly avoided getting smacked probably all the way back to Kiten.
"Can't even give me a second to prepare?!" Wilhelm snapped at Sol as he had to move again.
"You think any of those dumbasses from Diamond would do that? Did you give them that second?"
"This is supposed to be training!" The teen questioned the mage's sanity.
"Quit whining." Was Sol's elegant response.
Wilhelm mentally confirmed that he had in fact gave a concussion to the wrong Earth magic user as he avoided another swing from the golem. Moving backwards the teen stumbled over a rock and fell into his back, which led the golem to try to slam it's giant fists down on the teen. Reacting quickly he rolled to the side, avoiding become paste in the dirt.
The teen jumped back to his feet and actively ran away from the golem. He shot a look at Sol "Are you trying to kill me?!"
"Are you trying to die? Stop running and get on its back. You're the one who decided to try to be a magic knight. Do what it takes to be one."
The teen gained a scowl as he turned back to the golem. He knew Sol was right but damn was it annoying to be thrown right into something like this without more than a last second notice. He waited for the rock to try to hit him again before dodging and quickly latching onto the arm of the thing, getting closer to its main body as the thing pulled back its arm. The teen let go of the arm to use the momentum to roll off the ground behind the golem, successfully getting behind it. He had no time to get on its back however as the golem turned to face him again.
The golem attempted to kick Wilhelm, which would have been bad given that height wise Wilhelm was up to the thing's knees. Wilhelm attempted to get out of the way of the foot coming at him, but reacted too late, and was struck hard by the rock and went through the air. The kick sent the teen over Sol who watched as Wilhelm was sent into a tree and flopped to the ground.
"Punk, can you get up?" The girl stopped her golem. from moving, and hopped off the boulder towards Wilhelm.
A groan was his response as the teen rolled from his side to on his chest. "... I think some ribs are broken."
"No recovery magic here, so if you are quitting then you have to get back to town to deal with that." Sol only offered it so she can leave, not wanting to waste time that can be used better.
"... No..." The teen slowly pushed himself up to his knees. "Not done yet."
"You sure? You just whined about broken ribs."
"Other people won't care about my ribs, so I can't let that be in the way." He stood up and looked at the golem. "Keep going."
Sol actually smirked at the response. "Right. Now try to not be kicked across the field this time." She stepped away and pointed at the golem. "Get to it."
At that the golem moved, rushing at Wilhelm who stayed in place for a second before reacting. He let the thing charge right at him and then ran at it, throwing himself in between the things legs and getting behind it. The golem couldn't stop its momentum quick enough and ran into the tree, halfway breaking the tree and tripping over the plant. Wilhelm ran at the thing and kept his distance as it rolled to a standing position and faced him again. Wilhelm gained an idea and moved back to the boulder that Sol had originally stood on, climbing up it quickly as the golem charged after him.
Barely getting on top of the boulder before the golem hit the boulder, Wilhelm stumbled as he jumped, at the top of the golem's fist that had struck the rock. He landed on the fist and attempted to run up the arm, only for the golem to react quicker than anticipated and punch Wilhelm with it's other fist, throwing him off and to the ground with a crash with the strength behind the strike. Wilhelm had bounced hard off of the boulder before hitting the ground.
Sol stopped the golem from moving, before making her way to the teen. She saw him struggle to get up and saw a decent amount of blood from his right elbow, his skin being torn badly around it. His elbow had been where he had initially hit the boulder. "Okay that time definitely hurt."
"I'm fine." Wilhelm stood back up. "Restart it."
"Your arm is kinda screwed."
"I don't care." Wilhelm groaned as he held his injured arm. "I have to get better."
"Getting smacked around is not getting better."
"I have to work on speed. If I am not faster than anyone's spells I can't do anything."
"If you say so." The girl waved her arm and the golem activated for the third time, rushing at Wilhelm just like before. The battered teen dodged to his right, moving earlier than before. His movements were more sluggish than the previous attempts and he had to work around that. His lack of really good movement in his right arm didn't help either. The golem was however as fast as ever and didn't let up, Wilhelm barely able to kept out of it's range. After it slammed its fists into the ground where he had just been standing Wilhelm grabbed onto its arm, which pulled him into the air before it caught onto what Wilhelm was doing. Before he could be smacked again, Wilhelm pushed himself off of its arm, the momentum sending Wilhelm over the golem's head and behind it. The teen stumbled as his feet it the ground, falling to his knees and jamming his injured elbow into the ground.
Hissing in pain Wilhelm quickly moved as the golem turned and went back on the offensive, the teen having little time to get out of the way. He was slowing down and that made him too vulnerable. The teen got to his feet and didn't have enough time to react to the golem swing its arm in a clothesline style as it passed him, hitting Wilhelm hard and especially on his right arm. The teen was thrown once again across the field. Sol was ready to call it again before the teen had even hit the ground but to her surprise the teen managed to land upright, sliding across the ground on his knees before skidding to a stop, facing the golem. Wilhelm had a pained expression as his right arm was hanging limply at his side. He stood up and ran back at the rock-made beast, adrenaline making him move quicker as he managed to dodge to the side of a strike, being able to slip behind the thing. Wilhelm gained a look as confidence as he got behind the golem as turned to get behind the golem, but the look was lost when his foot slipped and his balance was lost, making him unable to grab onto the rock's back. Before he could even fall completely to the ground the golem had already struck him again, it using the rotation of its body to swing its left fist right at Wilhelm.
The teen was thrown back, once again into the tree he had originally been thrown into. The teen's body crashed hard into the tree, his right shoulder hitting it first, and his head followed suit. The impact making Wilhelm's vision blur as he slumped to the ground. Everything got hazy as the teen gasped for air.
"Punk are you okay?" He swore he heard Sol ask.
Wilhelm groaned as he struggled to get up using his one good arm. He couldn't be done yet, he had to be able to at least touch a damned rock in the specific spot he was meant to. A memory pushed itself to the surface as he struggled to get up.
"Don't steal from me again brat!" A man threatened as he stood over the kid he had just beaten. The kid had taken a ham from his shop and had been caught running down an alley. The kid didn't move in response, lying on the ground limply. The ham he had stolen lying in a puddle of filthy water now. The man didn't even care about the ham anymore. He was more pissed about the street rat stealing from his store. A kick was sent to the kid's ribs, who choked at the loss of air in his lungs. "You steal again and you'll regret it!" The man left.
Wilhelm didn't move for a while as the kid just cried. He hated it. He hated every time he was kicked into the ground or treated like filth. The kid struggled to a sitting position and grabbed the ham, not caring about how damaged the meat was. He made a vow to not let up a chance to get out of his miserable situation, no matter how tough it would be.
"Don't bother getting up." Sol was standing over Wilhelm, speaking surprisingly not as rude as before. "I'm having the golem pick you up and we are going back to Kiten to get you healed before Selena chews me out."
Wilhelm continued to get up shakily. "No." He wasn't done. He can't fail this miserably. He made that vow and wasn't going to let this chance get away. He had to get better!
"You don't get a choi-"
"I SAID NO!" Wilhelm looked at her and made her freeze up. "I am not done yet!"
The girl was silent for a second before responding. That look on Wilhelm's face bothered her, the anger and rage that she felt from him were unreal. Even if those emotions didn't feel really aimed at her the aura was enough to put even her off, and the blood coming from somewhere in Wilhelm's hair and covering the right side of his face wasn't making it any less off-putting. "Fine." She made her golem get ready to reactivate, it stepping back to let Wilhelm get ready for another round. "Say when you're ready."
Wilhelm looked at the golem, his vision blurry in his left eye, and blocked in his right eye, since he had it closed due to the blood. He had to devise a plan and move through it quickly. He was too wounded to not jump to a plan the instant the golem would be moving again. Every move mattered moreso now than previously.
Having made his plan, the teen nodded. "... I'm... ready..."
Before he even finished those words Wilhelm fell forward, falling unconscious.
Hours later Wilhelm opened his eyes, his head having a numb feeling. He was lying in a bed, specifically the one from the Inn that he had used the previous night. He sat up and realized his wounds were mostly gone, the pain from his broken ribs being minimal, as well as his right arm being back to pretty decent except slight pain. He got confused over what happened and had his questions answered as soon as he had them.
"Wilhelm!" Selena looked at him, sitting at the desk in his temporary room, got surprised to see the teen awake. "I didn't think you'd be awake so soon."
"What happened?" Wilhelm rubbed his elbow.
"You passed out. Sol brought you back to Kiten and I happened to see you guys, and I offered to use my recovery magic to fix you up."
"Thanks." Wilhelm dropped his legs off the side of the bed, and moved to stand up.
"Wait, I'm not exactly done." Selena motioned for the teen to stay sitting. "I'm not the best at recovery magic."
Wilhelm gave her a flat look as he moved his right arm. "I couldn't move this at all before."
"That's after a few uses of my magic. I don't really have the reserves to heal you completely in one go." The girl admitted.
The teen kept his flat look. "You healed me and your teammate at the same time after I had my stomach cut open and both of our shoulders ripped through."
The holes weren't too big and your organs weren't really damaged, just exposed."
"Now you are doing what I did earlier today."
"Actually... that was yesterday. You have been out for at least seven hours. It's a few hours till sunrise."
Wilhelm took a breath. "So training was a disaster."
"... Not completely." Selena disagreed. "You managed to take a few hits from Sol's Rampaging Mother Earth, from what I have seen and heard, that thing doesn't hold back."
"I can confirm that. It kicked me into a tree."
Selena didn't speak for a minute. "Don't overdo it."
"This wasn't overdoing it."
It was Selena's turn to have a flat expression. "You kept going until you passed out."
"I had to."
"No. You didn't." The Blue Rose sighed. "I understand training hard, but going until you fall unconscious isn't good for you."
"I don't think starting off against a thing made out of rock that I am one-fourth the size of was smart." Wilhelm pointed out.
"Hehe, yea." Selena gave a nervous laugh.
Wilhelm looked at the desk and saw a map that was similar to the one that Charlotte had. "What's the map for ?"
"It's... confidential."
"About the information you got from that Diamond guy?"
"Yep, and it's about the entire reason that the Diamond Kingdom has been increasing hostilities along the border for the past month." Selena got visibly excited. "Once we find the-" She cut herself off when she realized she was about to leak information.
"Private information, got it."
"That's... I still think I should tell you..."
"Why?"
"Well... You caught the guy and also want to be a magic knight. It can help you to become one if you are able to help us."
Wilhelm actively stood up, regretting it as his right knee had some strain. He held his knee with a look of slight pain.
"I told you to not get up." Selena grabbed the map and moved to sit next to him on the bed, actually pushing him enough to make him sit back down. Wilhelm only gave her a slight look for the action, which was ignored as she held the map. "Okay so Diamond has been sending mages to the border with us because they are searching for an ancient magic artifact. In a dungeon in Diamond they found a book that mentioned a collection of these artifacts, and they are mentioned to be incredibly powerful."
Wilhelm leaned closer and looked at the map, which had several markings around it. "And one is mentioned to be around Kiten?"
"But it's not exactly clear where. They apparently tracked that one of the artifacts was lost in this area, and it's the only one with a remotely clear idea of a location for them to find it. Originally we were told to be here in Kiten to prevent them from possible invasion after getting more hostile. Now we know that they are after something that may make them definitely invade. And if they do invade after getting this artifact, it may be hard to stop them."
"So a race to find this thing, and if a battle for the border happens, whichever side has the artifact has the advantage." Wilhelm paused as he thought. "What's a dungeon. I feel that it may be different from what I heard of them being back in my land."
Selena thought for a second before answering. "Dungeons are ancient tombs that were built by the civilizations that existed before any of the four kingdoms. Most of the dungeons we find usually have lots of treasure, and occasionally have powerful magic tools and artifacts... Wait! You think that the artifact could be in a dungeon somewhere under Kiten?"
"If the thing that told people about it was in one, it doesn't sound too out of place."
"That creates an issue then. Dungeons can't really just be opened. They just appear one day, reemerging themselves. The magic that keeps them together typically has a stage where it keeps the dungeons hidden and unable to be entered."
"So the Diamond kingdom could cause issues by just trying to capture Kiten so that they have the territory before the dungeon emerges, if it hasn't yet and just hasn't been found yet."
"The Magic Emperor has already stated concern with this and has asked about sending another squad here to Kiten in case things go south too. Miss Charlotte doesn't want another squad stepping over us so she wants use to work hard on this as well. If another squad does join it will only be if we don't get any progress in this situation, and it may take months."
"So I an help." Wilhelm offered.
"As much as I know I said that you could, saying out loud the situation Miss Charlotte has makes me think she will not approve of your assistance, especially since she prides the Blue Roses on our achievements and such that are made without the help of men."
"So I help just you. And we don't let them know I am helping."
"You could get in trouble."
Wilhelm had a neutral expression. "I'm used to everyone hating me, so it's fine."
"Really?" That sounded sad to Selena.
"Doesn't matter. I want to be a magic knight, people want to use a thing to mess with the place magic knights are assigned to protect. So I can train to be one by assisting here."
"No you won't." At that moment Sol walked into the room, holding two cups and looking annoyed.
"Sol!" Selena gasped as she tried to hide the map, and also move away from Wilhelm. She had completely forgotten that Sol was downstairs getting drinks for the two of them.
"Why are you here?" Wilhelm asked, half annoyed.
"Because you dipshit. After you collapsed Selena healed you and decided to work here while continuing to use her magic on you, and I decided to stay in case you decided to be a dipshit again, dipshit."
"I'm dipshit now?"
"Act like a dipshit, get called dipshit." Sol gave him a hard look. "And no, you aren't helping us because we don't need help. The Blue Roses have this covered."
"You didn't have those mages covered the other day."
"I could've handled them."
"No-"
"Guys!" Selena yelled over the two before they can argue. "It's three in the morning! No yelling. Sol, let him help."
"Sis would definitely be against it." Sol rejected the idea.
"You could do him a favor with this."
"I don't need to do him a favor and don't want anything anyways. I only helped with him yesterday because I owed you a favor."
"And you owe me-" Wilhelm tried to speak before Selena covered his mouth with a hand.
"Sol, he wants to be a magic knight like us, and has no mana. He needs a lot of help to get to our level and even helping us out at a small enough level that Captain Charlotte doesn't know we had any help could help him grow a lot." Selena explained.
Sol crossed her arms, and looked from Selena to Wilhelm, who had an annoyed expression and his mouth still covered. She thought back to the previous evening and how badly he got thrown around by her golem. She then remembered how off-putting the teen was just a moment before he passed out. "Mmmmmmm fiiiiine... He is a dipshit and needs help."
"Thank you Sol." Selena gave a large smile.
"He has to actually damage my golem first though. If he can't actively scratch it, then he will only get in the way."
"Fine." Wilhelm took Selena's hand off of his mouth. "In the next few days I am going to do just that."
"Better get training then punk." Sol stated as she turned for the door. "Let's go Selena." She was out the door before Selena even moved.
"You're in." Selena beamed at Wilhelm.
"Did you have to cover my mouth?"
"You and Sol argue a lot."
"She's annoying."
"She says the same about you" The girl gained a cheeky grin.
"So now I have to somehow harm that golem of hers, in the next few days, without any mana or real ways or damaging it that matters... If only I had one of those magic artifacts." Wilhelm spoke as he sat back down.
Selena made an expression of surprise, and also smacked Wilhelm's arm. "OH! I know what to do!"
"Ow." Wilhelm remarked.
"I'll be back in a day or two!" Selena quickly left, but stopped in the doorway. "I know what can help you."
With that she was also gone, and Wilhelm sat there realizing he wasn't completely healed either, leaving him with luckily just sprained/sore muscles at this point. He sighed as he flopped onto the bed and thought of what he could do at this point to actively improve and scratch the damned golem.
A figure stood on a branch of a tree, across a field from the town of Kiten. They looked out at the town and and thought about the defenses the town would have in place. The town would no doubt have sensors in place to detect any mana foreign to the town got close. They therefore took their grimoire, a light blue book with ornaments of shards of ice, with a diamond on the center of the cover, and put the book in a bag that would hide it's mana presence. They then secured a magic tool on their wrist that would cloak their mana for the next few hours.
They had two objectives, to retrieve or silence the captured Hedri. And most importantly to eliminate the mana-less foreigner who has caused this slip up in the first place.
A/N: It is the end of chapter two, huzzah! Hopefully you all liked it and what direction the story is taking.
I originally intended to reveal Wilhelm's magic with a line or two at the end of this chapter, but instead I opted to show how he plans to train and get around having no mana first.
Props to whoever can first figure out who that person at the end of the chapter is supposed to be. Kinda obvious, but first person to say to me who it is gets to have one question about future elements of the story answered.
Also, I noticed I made a mistake in not calling Sol's spell a Earth Creation magic spell, and cut out what kind of spell it was. I halfway feel like living out that part necessarily, unless you guys want it still in to have complete professionalism with the spells. You tell me if you care either way guys.
Now I respond to reviews!
CHAOSSERPENT: Lmao glad you are excited about my return, sorry I made you think I was dead. Hope you like the story.
