Wilhelm walked over the hill and stopped to wait for Mimosa, turning to look at her. "We made it to Kiten."

The Vermillion got over the hill and saw the town off in the distance, gaining a look of pride. "We did it!" She clapped enthusiastically.

"Now let's get to that gem and learn more about what is going on with me."

The pair were silent as they approached the gates of the walled city of Kiten, Wilhelm leading the way. Once at the gate, Wilhelm attempted to knock on it before he heard a voice.

"Who's there?" A voice he felt like was familiar asked.

"Mimosa of House Vermillion and Wilhelm of..." Mimosa spoke for the two but stopped, not knowing Wilhelm's family name.

"Just Wilhelm." The teen stated.

"Wilhelm?" The voice questioned. "Wait, House Vermillion?! Oh it's you two!" The gate was heard opening and a second later the two travelers saw Liv of the Blue Roses standing there. "Captain Charlotte was told about your adventure and we got told to look out for you when you get here."

"Were you waiting the entire three weeks?" Wilhelm asked.

"That's kinda pointless, kinda did the math on how long it'd take you to get here, and from there some of us took bets on when you'd get here." Liv explained.

"You bet on us?" Mimosa asked.

"Blame Sol, she started it by saying you'll take more than a month to get here. Then Gina pulled a Gina and made it turn into a bet." After that, Liv shook her head and arms. "Anyways I gotta take you to the headquarters, Captain Charlotte doesn't really want you around here longer than necessary." She waited until the two got inside Kiten's walls to close the gate, and then began leading them down the road.

"Is it because of the assassin that tried to kill Wilhelm?" Mimosa showed more curiosity than Wilhelm by speaking first, the mana-less teen more or less not caring.

"Oh right, her. We never got her. Galgaria ended up finding her and the two fought, but Ice Girl slipped away when Puli was about to show up. That was well over two weeks ago so I figure Ice Girl got out of town by now, even though none of the sensors show someone leaving over the walls." Liv explained.

"Diamond is still causing tension with the border?" The Vermillion was attempting to catch up on events after being on the road for most of a month.

The Blue Rose member nodded with an annoyed look. "Oh yeah, still being twits. It got quiet for a week after the last altercation with Ice Girl, then they actually set up a camp probably two kilometers onto their side of the border. Honestly it's making me worried that there should be a second squad here, Diamond seems like they are preparing for a fight."

"Just over some artifacts?" Wilhelm asked.

"That and territory." Mimosa replied to him. "Diamond doesn't have nearly as much resources as Clover, so being able to take some of our territory would benefit them."

"Not gonna question you knowing about the artifact situation," Liv said that and made Wilhelm remember that Selena wasn't meant to tell him that information. "But yeah. Resources and power."

At that point the three had made it to the building that was the base of operations for the Blue Roses, Liv opening the door for the other two.

Two seconds after entering the building, Wilhelm heard another voice that was familiar. "Hey it's Mister Lanky." It was Gina, who was at a table across from the captain of her squad.

"Wilhelm and Miss Vermillion arrived in Kiten." Liv announced, glad that her captain was actually in the base at this point, since she forgot that she should've called ahead to alert her captain about this.

Charlotte turned to see the two newcomers. "You're ahead of what Fuegoleon estimated. He said he wanted to be here when you arrived. Stay here while I notify him."

"What about the gem?" Wilhelm focused on his whole reason for being back in Kiten.

"This is about the gem." Charlotte replied. "Fuegoleon said that someone who witnessed the first reaction to one of these gems should be there to study the second reaction, if there even is one."

"So I have to wait?" Wilhelm didn't hide his displeasure with that.

Charlotte showed her own annoyance. "Don't get impatient boy. You were the one who decided to walk here and make it take three weeks longer than if you had listened to orders and stayed in the capital."

The mana-less teen didn't respond but his expression stayed the same, and the magic captain walked off to get her communication tool.

It was silent for all of two seconds after Charlotte left before Gina broke that silence, the pink haired girl looking at Wilhelm. "You kept Nero?" She noticed the bird that was sitting on Wilhelm's head. "Here I was thinking you actually would try to get rid of Nero."

"It grew on me." Wilhelm responded while the bird ruffled its feathers.

"Knew it, you're a softie." Gina smirked. "So one day and you leave the capital? Couldn't handle all the annoying nobles?"

"I only talked to four people."

"That's more than enough." Gina had a smirk. "You realized the capital has turd-nuggets and all the cool people are in Kiten right now." She then looked at Mimosa. "Hi I'm Gina! I'm the cool member of the squad."

"I'm Mimosa Vermillion, nice to meet you." The titular girl smiled widely.

"So you just decided going on a hiking trip with Mister Lanky was better than the castle lifestyle? After a day of knowing him?" Gina had a huge smirk.

"I... um..." Mimosa turned red at how that was asked of her.

"Gina don't mess with her like that." Liv sighed. "I have to go back to the gate, don't be... Gina." With that, the dark haired girl left to return to her post.

"I thought the lesson was to be yourself!" Gina yelled with a grin. The second the door was shut she turned back to the two travelers. "Soooooo... How was your trip?"

"Okay." Wilhelm sat down as he gave his plain response.

"Just okay? I figured it'd have to be absolutely bonkers for you to leave the castle. People other than me actually gossiped about this. Imagine getting a free room in the castle and leaving the first day."

"You don't even like the nobles." Wilhelm responded.

The small girl shook her head "I don't dislike nobles, a majority of the Blue Roses are nobles. I mean I don't like those stuck up dinguses in the capital. A stay in a castle is still a stay in a castle though."

"He was actually really stubborn about leaving too." Mimosa added. "He jumped off a balcony when I wouldn't let him go through the door."

Hearing that fact caused Gina to slowly turn her head to Wilhelm, an expression that had a mix of amusement and surprise. "You... Jumped... Off a balcony?"

Wilhelm's expression stayed neutral. "Yes."

"I love it."

At that point Charlotte came back to the main hall, and spoke the second she came into view. "Fuegoleon will be here shortly. Stay here while I retrieve Selena and the gem. Come with me Gina."

The Blue Rose instantly launched herself through a portal across the room to Charlotte's side. "Aye aye captain!"

Once those two were gone, it was just Mimosa and Wilhelm in the hall. They were silent for a second before Mimosa spoke.

"Was this close to how you expected them to react when we got here?"

"More or less."

A short while later Charlotte and Gina returned, with Selena and for some reason Sol.

"Wilhelm!" Selena waved to him as she said his name louder than she meant to. "How are you?"

"Fi-" Wilhelm couldn't even say a single word before he felt that sensation again. Just like with the gem Fuegoleon had, Wilhelm's head became foggy and there was the pull from the gem. He looked directly at the gem, which happened to be in Selena's hand at the moment. The sensation was strong and Wilhelm didn't want to have to resist it for long, so he turned to look at Charlotte. "Do I have to wait for Sir Fuegoleon?"

"Yes. I already said that."

"It's just... I can feel the same feeling that I did just by being by Sir Fuegoleon's necklace. And being by it too long made me be unable to breath." Wilhelm really didn't want to have to explain why he didn't enjoy an inability to breathe.

"Should I wait outside?" Selena pointed at the door.

"If you are genuine, then it's best to keep some distance between you and the gem until Fuegoleon arrives." As much as Charlotte had disbelief over a mana-less foreigner having some mana based connection to gems from Clover, she also wasn't about to be reckless over it.

"I'll go." Selena went for the door, which opened before she got to it.

The person who had opened it was none other than Fuegoleon, who had a mage with him who could be seen closing a portal behind them.

"I am here now." The Crimson Lion announced himself. "Where is Wilhelm and Mimosa?" He asked before seeing them off to the side. "It's good to see you two are fine."

As much as Wilhelm wanted to tell Fuegoleon about his training, the kid also wanted to do the opposite of what he did with the last gem and not ignore the thing. "So I can grab it now?"

"So impatient to get some jewelry." Gina joked.

"Here Wilhelm." Selena went to hand it to him, the gem's effects on Wilhelm getting stronger as she got closer.

"Wait." Fuegoleon held up his hand, and Selena stopped mid-step.

"What is it?" Charlotte asked.

"Not here." Fuegoleon waved an arm to the mess hall. "When he used my gem, he and the item gave off a burst of mana that broke apart the area around him. It should be a more open area with no one right next to him, to avoid being harmed."

"But what about Wilhelm?" Selena asked, definitely not wanting Wilhelm to have the gem if whatever happens would hurt him in the process.

"He was for the most part unharmed, however he did fall unconscious." Fuegoleon replied.

"I can open portals to a field outside of town!" Gina announced as she already made a big portal.

"That will work." The Crimson Lion nodded.

With that, everyone went through the portal. Wilhelm didn't know why Sol was there at all, to him she was the only one that really had no reason or place there.

A moment later everyone made sure to keep a decent distance from Wilhelm, while Selena was the only one who didn't.

"So I just hand it to you?" Selena asked the teen.

Wilhelm nodded, speaking over the static in his head. "I gained the vision when I held Sir Fuegoleon's."

"I have a portal ready for you to move through to move away quickly." Gina stated, opening one right behind Selena that connect to one next to Gina.

Selena nodded put her hand over Wilhelm's outstretched hand and put the gem in his palm. Once it was in his palm Selena released it and moved backwards through the portal. Everyone braced for a show of mana, Wilhelm especially.

Instead if that, nothing happened. Wilhelm just stood there holding the gem while the static in his head was lessening.

Sol was the first to speak after an uneventful few seconds. "That's it? I thought this was supposed to be some instant thing?"

As if being challenged by her words, the gem burst with mana, forcing a yelp of pain from Wilhelm as the gem sent energy through him. The teen was forced to his knees as the pressure took his breath away. His vision become white as he experienced a new memory.

"Aw... I hope someday I'll also..." A pink haired girl spoke, bringing his attention to her among the crowd of people facing him.

"I'm sure you'll meet someone lovely soon, Fana." The woman next to him replied to her. When she replied to Fana he turned to her, and couldn't help but smile as he looked at her.

"I sure hope so." Fana gave a sigh.

"I wish you a lifetime of happiness." Someone else in the crowd, who happened to be next to Fana, spoke to him and the woman next to him.

"Thank you." The beautiful woman next to him gave a smile that sent his heart soaring, even if the smile wasn't directed right at him.

"if this guy ever cheats on you, let me know right away." A third person spoke, speaking to the woman next to the man. This person had messy black and white hair and more robes than the rest of them. "I'll make sure to kick his ass." His half-hearted threat made most of the crowd chuckle.

"Hey, come on now Raia..." He finally spoke, half heartedly making it appear like he was worried while having a smile.

"I'm just kidding." Raia gave his own chuckle.

The man's smile grew as he went to reply, before the sky suddenly turned dark in seconds as beams of light shit down from the sky, ripping through people. Those who weren't hit immediately began to panic as bodies fell.

The man was one of the first people hit, a beam of light shooting through his chest from the back. His vision became red as he began to fall over.

Wilhelm's hyperventilating ended as his ability to breath came back, oxygen re-entering his lungs.

"Wilhelm!" Mimosa's voice snapped the mana-less teen back to reality. His response was to begin coughing up blood, which caused nothing but panic in the girl.

"Are you able to stay conscious?" Fuegoleon had moved to Wilhelm's side just as Mimosa did.

Wilhelm again responded poorly, hacking up more blood, more of the liquid pouring from his nose as well. His head was a mess and everything around him was a blur. He tried to stand up and the two tried to help him, before his knees gave out and he dropped back down to his hands and knees.

Mimosa instantly opened her grimoire and the pages flew open to a spell. "Plant Recovery Magic: Dream Healing Flower Basket!" Vines and flowers with pink flowers surrounded Wilhelm and covered him with healing magic.

"Focus on breathing Wilhelm, don't overexert yourself." Fuegoleon spoke to the teen in a much calmer tone than Mimosa had at the moment.

Wilhelm nodded to show he was listening, focusing on his breathing as he tried to stay conscious.

"If I knew this would happen I would've kept my necklace." Selena said quietly.

"We should return to Kiten." Mimosa turned to her cousin. "He needs to lie down."

Wilhelm shook his head. "I'm-" He coughed hard. "I'm... fine."

"No you aren't." Mimosa replied with a hard tone.

"Now is not the time to act tough, Mister Touches-A-Rock-And-Blows-Up-A-Field." Gina had a flat tone.

"Just focus on breathing." Fuegoleon repeated himself.

"You understated his reaction to the gems." Charlotte looked at the other captain.

"The first reaction was less than this, even if he stayed conscious this time." Fuegoleon replied.

A ringing feeling in Wilhelm's head felt like it was coming from a direction off away from him, and he turned his head to look for the source. He only saw the field and the giant wall that surrounded Kiten, meaning it must be coming from the town or the other side of it.

"There's... there's another one." Wilhelm tried to stand up but Mimosa used an arm to keep him down.

"Wilhelm, breathe." The girl wasn't going to let him just go cause this again when he hadn't even recovered from this instance yet.

The mana-less teen made a groaning sound as he stopped attempting to do anything other than what they kept telling him to do. He adjusted his position to just sit in on the grass as he finally steadied his breathing completely.

"Did you experience another vision?" Fuegoleon asked only after he was sure Wilhelm's condition was okay.

The teen nodded. "This time I was in a group of people. It was a ceremony I think. People were congratulating a woman next to me, I mean me also but it was more her than me. At the end of the vision some sort of magic came out of the sky and began attacking people. The vision ended after I got pierced in my lung."

The Crimson Lion's brow lowered as he thought. "It could be possible that this vision was a prior part of that first vision. Both included a group of people that were attacked."

"It came out of nowhere. One moment I, or whoever it is that I am seeing this through, was being joked with and the next second everyone was being attacked."

"Are these premonitions or recollections of past events?" Charlotte asked Fuegoleon for what he thought. While previously she thought this was some over exaggerated drama Wilhelm was just screwing around with, she changed her mind ice the field had gained a crater from his interacting with a gem.

"Without more information it's not clear." Fuegoleon answered as he turned from Charlotte back to Wilhelm. "Was there anything this time that is more in detail."

Wilhelm thought for a second. "Fana." He remembered hearing that name. "Someone there was named Fana, and Raia."

"Okay, when we return to the castle we can begin investigating on a Fana or a Raia to figure out why you have these visions and connections to these gems."

"Wait!" Wilhelm tried to stand up, and his still wobbly legs almost made him fall over before Mimosa caught him and had him lean on her to stay upright. "There's something here around Kiten! I can't leave yet!"

"Man really doesn't want to be in a castle." Gina joked before getting lightly elbowed by Selena to keep her quiet.

Fuegoleon gave an unknown expression to Wilhelm, taking a moment to respond. "I imagine you'd be stubborn enough to leave the second my eyes are off you, aren't you?" Wilhelm didn't get a chance to really answer, his expression being enough to make the answer be clear. Fuegoleon turned to Charlotte. "I could leave him under your watch while he finds whatever is here, if you are willing that is."

The captain of the Blue Roses had her own neutral expression. "My hands are too full to babysit the boy, and the squad already has their own assignments as well. If that assassin or people from Diamond learn he is back and try to attack him again I can't guarantee he'll get lucky again this time."

"What if Wilhelm was able prove he can handle himself this time?" Selena asked, before turning red at jumping into the conversation when both captains turned to her.

"I can handle myself." Wilhelm stated.

"He was spending his journey here training." Mimosa added.

Charlotte gave Wilhelm a long look while she thought. "Prove that your training was enough right now and I suppose you can stay in Kiten."

"OH!" Sol gasped as she raised her hand. "Let me fight him!"

"That wasn't way too eager at all." Gina commented.

"Sol it is." Charlotte decided. "Show the results of your training against Sol in a duel right here." She honestly figured it would be over quick with Sol beating Wilhelm. Which meant she wouldn't have to have the kid there in Kiten.

"Right now?!" Mimosa asked in a higher pitch than she meant. "After his reaction to the gem?"

"Yes." Charlotte said flatly.

"Okay." Wilhelm said with no second thought.

"Wilhelm!" The Vermillion girl wanted to scold him.

"Mimosa, it is his choice." Fuegoleon responded to his cousin's reaction.

"Don't injure him too much." Charlotte made sure to say to Sol.

"I'll try, sis." The girl replied.

Everyone that wasn't Sol or Wilhelm moved away to give the two space.

"Last time you couldn't even do anything against my one spell." Sol spoke to Wilhelm as her grimoire flew open. "Without magic I don't really think you can actually damage it even with training. This is your chance to quit."

Wilhelm had a flat expression at those words. "Mimosa. Release the weights."

The spoken girl nodded and waved her arm to make the plants wrapped around Wilhelm's wrists and ankles break apart and fall away from him. He rolled his shoulder as he riased one arm to his sword and pulled it out of it's sheath, holding it out in front of him.

Mimosa admittedly forgot about worrying about Wilhelm and moreso focused on how cool she thought he looked in that pose, holding his sword ready for a fight. Then she tirned red at realizing her thoughts about him.

"Begin." Charlotte announced for Sol and Wilhelm to begin their duel.

"Earth Creation Magic: Rampaging Mother Earth!" Sol announced her signature spell as a golem made of rock rose from the ground below her, raising her into the air on its shoulder.

Wilhelm adjusted his grip on his sword as he rushed right at the golem, moving at a speed greater than what Sol remembered him moving at last time he went against the golem. The rock-made creature raised a foot to try to kick Wilhelm as he got close, but the teen was ready and expecting it, moving to the side as he went for a slice at the other leg.

Surprising most of the people there, Wilhelm's sword cut deep into the golem's right leg, halfway sliding due to it's ability and halfway crushing the rock from Wilhelm's strength. Before the golem could get at Wilhelm be removed his sword from the beast and moved backwards while throwing an upwards slash that managed to break off a finger on the golem's hand, its thumb actually.

"That sword is sharper than it appears." Charlotte commented.

"That's not just it. It absorbs mana, taking away the strength of the magic that makes the spell every time he hits it." Mimosa explained with a grin.

Selena looked again at the sword she gave Wilhelm, smiling herself at what he could now do with it. She then noticed how the bottom row of designs on the sword had changed color from what she remembered them to be, and wondered when Wilhelm altered the sword.

Moving backwards still Wilhelm began forming a proper plan. He initially planned nothing as he first wanted to see what his sword would be capable of doing in terms of damage to the golem. Now that he knew it could possibly cut off limbs if he timed his attacks right and sliced at the tight spots. He had the obvious option from that, focus on the legs

With that Wilhelm changed his movements to rush back at the golem, sliding under its reach

as he swing his sword full force right back into the same spot that he had hit earlier, the sword going farther in, leaving not enough of the leg to keep the golem from falling to its knee. Wilhelm pulled his sword out to attempt to break its arm off before it could react.

"Mud Wall Pillar!" Sol made a pillar of rock burst up from the ground, right in front of Wilhelm and smacking his sword out of his hands.

The mana-less teen recovered from the hit and moved for his sword, losing his opportunity to break the golem. He dodged two attempts from the golem to try to crush him against the ground with its fists before he grabbed his sword and made sure to put distance back between him and his opponent.

Wilhelm took a breath as he adjusted his grip on his sword, eyeing the golem as he went through scenarios for his next move. Seeing that the calf of the golem wasn't regaining the slash through it at all, Wilhelm realized that Sol either wasn't capable of regenerating a golem, or was foolishly ignoring it. Either way he had to capitalize and break that leg off.

Rushing forward again he raised his arms over his shoulder and swing in a slash to break away at the golem's fist which was coming at him. His sword connected and sliced cleanly through the golem, leaving a large tear between the middle of ring finger of the first down to its wrist.

The golem still followed through with its attack, having no sense of feeling pain. Its fists connected with Wilhelm's chest and the force sent the teen back several feet onto his back.

"Wilhelm!" Mimosa and Selena both couldn't help but worriedly call out his name, before looking at each other in confusion of the synchronized call. They only looked at each other for a second before facing Wilhelm again, while Gina stood between both girls with a smirk.

The mana-less teen coughed, blood coming out as he did, and he regained his lost breath. Moving to a sitting position as the golem wasted no time to move back at him. Whelm held his sword in one hand as he darted to the side to dodge a rock fist being slammed on him, and had to move repeatedly in this fashion to dodge multiple attempts from the golem to crush him against the ground.

Gaining an idea Wilhelm released his sword and began to move faster, no longer being slowed by the weight of the sword. He got back to his feet and moved backwards away from the golem, attempting to lead it to where he was currently standing.

"Stop." Sol lightly slapped the side of her golem's head, making the thing stop following Wilhelm. She turned to the teen and had a smug look. "I win punk. I know your sword is your only thing that can fight my spell, and right now I have that sword under my foot."

Wilhelm looked at the sword that was indeed being stood on by Sol's golem, and he knew that he had to get the sword back in order to do anything. Gaining an idea he raised his left hand above his head.

"You're wrong. I still have one trick up my sleeve." Wilhelm put his raised hand in his pocket, grabbing his trick.

Sol narrowed her eyes. "Try me then."

"Okay." Wilhelm pulled his hand from his pocket, pulling it behind his head as he made a throwing motion and threw his trick right at Sol.

Everyone looked in shock and confusion at what Wilhelm threw, which had hit Sol in the chest.

It was a rock.

Wilhelm had thrown a regular rock that had fallen into his pocket at Sol.

The struck girl was the first to react verbally. "Did you just throw a rock at me?!"

"Is that a trick question?" Wilhelm asked, making a shitty smirk. Gina was heard cackling from the event.

"You annoying shit!" Sol yelled and made her golem actually rush Wilhelm now, smacking its head to make the rocky beast resume its pursuit of the teen.

Wilhelm made a risky move and ducked under the golem's Bull Rush, going between its legs as he died and grabbed his sword. As he grabbed the sword mid dive Wilhelm twisted his body to roll once he hit the ground, spinning to be on his knees as he swung the sword and slashed at the back of the golem's legs. He had misjudged distance however and swung at air, but an unexpected event happened that made Wilhelm strike his target.

As Wilhelm swung the sword, which he had not noticed was glowing more than usual when he picked it up, unleashed a wave of mana that flew off of the sword in an arc. The arc of magic cut right through the golem's torso and arms, separating it into four pieces that crashed to the ground with Sol on top of it.

No one moved for a second, everyone in that field attempting to process what Wilhelm just did. The teen himself hadn't moved from his position where he had ended the swing, still holding the sword up as he just looked at the golem in shock.

After five seconds Gina was the first to speak. "That was awesome! Do it again!"

"Wilhelm, how did you do that?" Fuegoleon asked.

"That was your actual trick?!" Sol looked between Wilhelm and her fallen golem.

Wilhelm lowered his sword as he tried to reason his use of mana just then. "My sword absorbs mana. I think that I just accidentally released what the sword had taken."

"So is that the end of the duel?" Selena asked, and she got two answers at the same time from Sol and Charlotte.

"No!" Sol shouted, not wanting the end of the duel to be in Wilhelm's favor.

"Yes, it's over." Charlotte stated. "This was to show his training results and he has proven that he isn't completely helpless."

"I held off my own assassin thre-" Wilhelm tried to dispute but was cut off.

"I wasn't done talking." Charlotte gave Wilhelm a look. "You can stay in Kiten until after you find this thing you are sure is here. However you are gonna pull your own weight in the town and not freeload."

"Which is also a good way to prepare for being a magic knight." Fuegoleon added.

"Wait so are we passing some of our assignments in town to Mister Magic-Sword?" Gina asked her captain.

"Yes." The Blue Rose captain then looked back at Wilhelm. "Do you agree to these terms?"

Not even a second later Wilhelm answered. "Yes."

Charlotte nodded before turning to her squad members. "Girls, return to your assignments for now, I'll return to base and handle the changes for now."

"I'll teleport everyone back into town!" Gina announced as she made a large portal. A moment later they were outside the Blue Rose's base and Charlotte turned to Wilhelm.

"You stay here and I will find something for you to do to earn your stay." She turned to Fuegoleon after that. "Can you come with me? I have a matter I'd like to discuss in private." The man nodded and the two captains went inside, leaving the teens outside.

"I want a rematch!" Sol jabbed Wilhelm in the chest.

"No." He answered flatly.

"That doesn't count as a win for you at all." Sol responded.

"He broke your toy." Gina had a shitty grin.

"Sol let's just return to our post for now." Selena put herself between Wilhelm and Sol.

"Fine... I'm getting a rematch one day though!" Sol declared before walking off.

"She doesn't take losing well." Selena sighed and turned to Wilhelm. "That was cool though, your training paid off."

Wilhelm pulled Selena's necklace out of his pocket and held it out for her. "I didn't give this back yet."

"Oh, I actually forgot about it for a minute there." She responded as she took it back.

"Thank you for the sword. I owe it to you that I can be here now." Wilhelm unknowingly turned slightly red while saying that to Selena.

It was noticeable enough that Selena saw it though, even if she didn't speak about it. "No, you're the one who was able to use it and discover that ability. Thank yourself."

"I still wouldn't have the sword if you hadn't given it to me."

Selena sighed. "That's not wrong but I'm not agreeing."

Mimosa pulled out a handkerchief and surprising the two Blue Roses there actually began to wipe Wilhelm's face. "I'm sorry but the blood on your face is beginning to get to me."

"It didn't bother me." Wilhelm replied.

"I know. That's why I am actually wiping it." She responded.

"Don't forget he definitely has a broken rib now." Gina pointed out.

"They're only cracked." Wilhelm waved it off.

Mimosa, once again surprising the two Blue Roses, lightly smacked Wilhelm's arm. "Why didn't you say anything?! You agreed to stop doing that!" She had opened her grimoire and used a healing spell on Wilhelm again, flower petals covering his torso.

The mana-less teen took a second to respond. "I'm sorry."

The Vermillion responded with a sigh. "I know. You really need to remember your health Wilhelm. You can't heal yourself by ignoring it."

"Isn't that why you came along anyways?"

"Yes but that doesn't give you an excuse to be reckless and stupid."

"Being reckless and stupid was the main reason I convinced you to not tie me up and take me back to the castle." Wilhelm pointed out.

"Kinky." Gina cut in, causing both Selena and Mimosa to turn red, the latter sputtering out random words. Wilhelm was the only one who gave no reaction.

Before any of the teens could say anything else, the two captains came back out. Charlotte was holding an envelope, which she held out to Wilhelm.

"This is your first assignment. The details are inside." Charlotte explained as Wilhelm took the letter.

"What do I do?" Mimosa asked.

"You are going back to the capital." Charlotte replied.

"What?" Mimosa and Wilhelm both asked at the same time.

"But-" Mimosa tried to argue.

"I only agreed to let the boy stay, there is no reason you have to actually be here." Charlotte didn't want a non-magic knight girl running around Kiten just because a boy was there either.

"But-" Mimosa once again tried to argue but got cut off by Fuegoleon this time.

"Mimosa, I'm sorry but if you don't have a good reason that you have to also be here then you should be returning to the capital." Fuegoleon knew exactly why she wanted to stay, but also knew that Kiten wasn't a spot that people can just be around for no proper reason at the moment.

"Wilhelm needs someone to make sure he doesn't get himself too injured." Mimosa gave what she thought was a good reason.

"If Wilhelm gets hurt I can patch him up." Selena pointed out. "I have decent recovery magic."

"I'll be fine." Wilhelm reassured Mimosa.

"We have different definitions of fine." The Vermillion girl stated plainly.

He gained a flat expression. "By your definition then. I'll make sure nothing bad happens and just get the gem. After that I'll be back in the capital anyways."

Mimosa was silent for a second, thinking about the situation. "I can help look into these people from your vision from the capital, there may be some record of them there. I'll write a letter if I find anything."

Fuegoleon spoke at that moment. "Then that's settled. Wilhelm, good luck in your venture to find what is here. Keep your training up and hone those skills."

"Yes sir." Wilhelm nodded hard.

"Gina, we have a matter to attend to, let's go." Charlotte began to leave. "Selena return to your post as soon as possible. Boy, don't waste time before getting that assignment done."

Gina began to follow her captain. "See ya people!" She entered the building behind Charlotte and left the group.

"Good luck Wilhelm!" Selena began to leave as well.

"We will also take our leave now." Fuegoleon stated, the mage from the Crimson Lions who had come with Fuegoleon opening a portal behind the Vermillions. "We will notify you of any information we learn."

"Please actually be careful." Mimosa got her bad feeling again, but knew she had to actually leave and trust Wilhelm to be fine on his own.

"I promise I will do my best." Wilhelm tried to reassure her.

"Let's go Mimosa." Fuegoleon said as he walked through the portal.

Mimosa took a second to move, but didn't move for the portal, she instead hugged Wilhelm. "Bye." She turned red as she let go of him and her embarrassment made her go through the portal before Wilhelm could respond, the magic doorway closing behind her.

With that, Wilhelm was left alone on the street, his face a barely noticeable shade of red. He shook it off as he held up the envelope, and opened it to get the details of his first official assignment.

A/N: And that's the end of chapter nine, hope y'all liked it because I enjoyed writing it.

I hope people now know with vision number two what is going on between Wilhelm and the magic stones. One of my favorite things I have set up with the story by the way because it involves one of my favorite Black Clover characters.

Wilhelm fighting Sol was something I planned since chapter two since I figured that it'd be a good way to show his growth. He isn't necessarily at the point of being able to beat her, but he definitely has gotten to a point of being able to do much more than chapter two. For his sword lifting capabilities I will state that he can use it somewhat easily with two hands to the moment, but not yet with one hand.

Kinda felt weird trynna balance interactions between Wilhelm and Mimosa/Selena, since both girls obviously like Wilhelm but I don't want to forget about either one, both are important to the story after all.

As I say at the bottom of every chapter, I have a discord server with the link in my Bio.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter, let me know how it was and have a good day!
