They arrived back in the living room of Sirius' house and stepped out he was shocked to find it empty but then he checked SATURN and realised they had arrived in the morning not evening.
"I'm piloting next time, you still missed the right time, at least you got the year right, however it's been a month and it's a Wednesday not the Monday since we were last here and it's the morning not evening!" Exclaimed Null staring at the Doctor not impressed.
"I gave the extra month so it wouldn't shock Sirius to much seeing you only a day later with everything that has changed within you, plus well I got most of it right, but the TARDIS sometimes mixes morning and evening. Leave it alone we got here and slightly earlier than I planned" Spoke the Doctor affronted at being called out by his driving just because Null could get it to go exactly where he wanted it to, he thought the TARDIS only did that because he was a tot and she had a real soft spot for him.
Null just rolled his eyes all three of them knew how bad the Doctors driving was, he left the bloody break on while trying to travel for Rassilons sake. Pulling up the screen on SATURN he rang Sirius.
"Pup you're back, I've been worried sick it's been a month!" Exclaimed Sirius as soon as the call connected.
"We had a lot to do Sirius, anyway, where are you? We've come back for a week, I thought we could catch up, we were meant to arrive this evening as you got off work as a surprise, but I wasn't driving." Here Null again threw a look at the Doctor.
"We're all at the hub working, come over Jack want to talk to the Doctor and we can catch up properly Harry, then I'll take us all out for dinner." Sirius told Null who hadn't heard that name for quite a few years but agreed none the less, he realised he would have to let them continue to call him Harry or 'The Son' he couldn't call him by his tot's name as it had been explained to him other than under very special circumstances that name was to remain silent unless in private with other Timelords. He was grateful he had never told anyone what SATURN called him in his mind. He agreed to meet Sirius and all three set off to meet up at the hub.
"Hi Ianto can we go on in?" Requested Harry of Ianto who was manning the tourist office that was the face of this hub.
"Hi Harry, go on they are expecting you I was told to close once you got here and to meet up in the main chamber. Give me a second to lock up and I'll come down with you." As Ianto spoke the last the Doctor pointed his screwdriver at the door and locked it. Ianto nodded and then followed them all down, Harry leading the way.
Harry had just entered the hub when he was grabbed in a hug by Sirius, who could still lift him up because of his small stature he had finally grown into his old age, he knew it would take another seventy years before he actually looked like one, at least in thirty years he would look like a teenager.
Things were going really well for Harry, he had explained the looking into the tear then getting use to time before looking into a schism, as Sirius had found out from Jack that was where he would get his Timelord name from and he wanted to know Harry's. He eventually told him after a lot of grumbling only to be ribbed about his size by Sirius. They were catching up on what Sirius had been up to when Harry suddenly turned to Jack and shouted out NO only for Jack to continue his statement.
"And this says you've been gone five years not a month!"
"WHAT" Was shouted out of Sirius' mouth who turned to stare at all three Timelords.
"Thanks Jack now I know why time doesn't like you!" Snapped Harry before turning to the Doctor
"You left him with a fully intact vortex manipulator without the transportation facility but with everything else working on it, why did you not stop those sorts of functions on it? It's only one bloody line of code to remove and you could see in time what Sirius is going to do now because of it. I'll have to move house, or he'll try to put a bloody tether on me and no that isn't a suggestion first time I left you would be dragged with me only to land a mile away from me I'd spend three bloody days looking for you!" Harry started on the Doctor and finished on Sirius coming to a shout at the end of his little rant.
Everyone stood in shocked silence ever since they had known Harry he was very laid back not this forceful or demanding. They realised that five years as a time tot had altered him more than they realised Sirius swallowed a lump in his throat.
"OH" Spoke Harry as he saw the timeline move further on.
"And that is why I didn't stop it or remove the programming before we left, I could see this in time it had to happen for Sirius to realise that while you're still his godson and love him with all you hearts, that you have changed in certain aspects but still at you're core you're you. He needs to understand that and that each time he sees you, you will have grown a little more. Also, he wants to see Disney world and so I thought we could all go on a trip there as you like it so much." The Doctor added a bit of humour in at the end. The number of times Harry had gone to Disney world before traveling in the TARDIS were nearly on a weekly basis.
"Fine but Jacks not coming he's now making me feel sick looking at him for too long, sorry but they are right TIME really doesn't like you Jack you are a constant where there shouldn't be one!" spoke Harry he didn't know how he hadn't noticed it before, but Jack made his head hurt now when he looked at him.
"How did Rose hold that amount of power in her and come out completely intact when none of us would, even you didn't Doctor, it killed every cell in you within seconds but she held it in, piloted a TARDIS, gave jack pure life and scattered the Daleks atoms across time before releasing it?" asked Harry in surprise to the Doctor even though he'd not seen the events, the Doctor had told him about them but for her to do this to Jack he'd not understood before, but looking at Jack now he did that type of power was extreme.
"Because that was the type of person she was, she had only once seen the power of the heart of a TARDIS as you know, but she still did it still believed enough to hold it all in for so long….She couldn't at the end it was beginning to really hurt her looking through all of time and that was what she did as she sent them throughout time. She held the Skaro Degradation to a standstill and laughed in their faces….Nothing seemed to faze her...Yet I can still see the devastation as she was trapped in the other universe no longer able to travel with me." Spoke the Doctor out loud in a pain filled voice, the Master put his hand on the Doctor's shoulder in support not knowing much about this Rose other than what he had been told unlike his son he hadn't been in the Doctors mind to see his life.
"She was a very brave woman Doctor who obviously cared a great deal for you, you could see that in your goodbye, all I have are pictures and the memory of my mum begging for her life when that mad man came for her, then of one saying goodbye to her, all of my close friends are likely gone as well now. Even we wouldn't have survived nuclear destruction." Answered Harry just as gently, trying to help as always.
"I know I have you, my dad and Sirius now, I know I'm not alone but for a long time I was, even with so called close friends I still felt alone, even when reunited with Sirius things were different, I was an adult by then and didn't need looking after it's different to those you were really close to and isn't it you who always tells us not to say never as it is such a long time, we just have to keep a look out for signs of the Bad Wolf if they are out there then we know she has unfinished business and time won't be constrained by the multiverse much like death isn't if she needs to return she will do so!" he continued on.
The Doctor looked over at him a searching look on his face as did his dad.
"What do you mean Harry? Asked the Doctor
"Death and Time are equals they are two of the main constants you could say but there is only one of each, if Time interfered with Rose then she could easily move her to our dimension even easier than I can and they wouldn't leave behind cracks either." answered Harry
"That wasn't your headmaster in Kings Cross was it? When you had that bit of soul removed you met death and obviously talked a lot more than you showed us!" spoke the Master, quickly understanding, the only time Harry had spoken while dead was to his supposed dead headmaster.
"No but I can't show you the inbetween HE won't let me and neither can I tell you what we talked about while there HE holds both my mind and tongue. I know the power of Death, and Time is just as powerful. I know there is only one constant for all the universes, but those things are blocked even from you by death. I thought what was the point in saying I had met Death and learned my true place in life, someone who you feel follows you around Doctor because you don't see the lives you have saved only those that you couldn't. I know what you are most known for by Death and that is ensuring not too many people die who shouldn't if you didn't go to the places the TARDIS took you and you didn't investigate then a lot more death than should happen, would. That's about all I can tell you HE holds the rest between the two of us as it should be I suppose. No one should know or have the power of death, and yet here we are" Answered Harry more to the Doctor than his dad. Going thoughtful at the end.
Everyone was looking at him in shock, it's not exactly normal even for them to meet someone who had spoken to DEATH even Sirius was looking at him in shock when he announced this. Nobody seemed to know what to say to get past the fact that Harry had met the grim reaper.
"Anyway what else have we missed other than my rent?" Asked Harry trying to move things along he didn't like all the staring it reminded him of the Unspeakables.
"Harry, I only let you pay rent because you demanded I take the money. It's your home you are my godson a hundred years from now you will still have a home to come back to, you know how long lived we are as normal users." Sirius spoke up, upset at Harry for making that type of joke he loved him, he would always have a bedroom in any house he owned.
"I know but I had a full-time job, I could help out and I wanted to. I still feel like an adult in my head even if my body is still the same size, I could and can glamour myself if need be…..Anyway, we need to draw down on the Doctors UNIT account we need food for the TARDIS!" spoke Harry to Sirius and then the others.
"You know I was once asked how long I stayed away from earth at a time and Rose answered five days or was that just how long the milk lasted, all the planets in the galaxy and cows had to come from earth. That's why I had us put so much of it in stasis knowing we would be in the time vortex for a while until you adjusted to seeing time. Cows!" Spoke the Doctor reminiscing with a smile on his face.
"Okay then we obviously need a lot of milk again and food, it's a good job I can cook or we would have starved, nearly did when I first started seeing time we lived on pancakes for six months I actually enjoyed a bowl of oat meal after that!" Declared Harry with determination don't get him wrong they were great pancakes but after six months of nothing else and constantly being sick, he wanted a different meal, even still feeling the time shifts he cooked because of the pancakes.
"You enjoy my pancakes; you always want them for breakfast!" Declared the Doctor looking affronted just because he couldn't cook a roast dinner didn't mean he wasn't great at making pancakes.
"Yes Doctor, for breakfast. Not for breakfast, lunch, dinner and an evening snack. For a full six months" Argued Harry right back
"Fine let's go shopping then and stock the TARDIS up but we need milk were nearly out anyway, so it all works out!" Grumbled the Doctor.
"So, we would have needed to come back to earth anyway so we could pick up milk?" Harry threw his hands in the air
"Why didn't you just say that in the beginning even I like proper milk" exclaimed Harry
"Because you needed to see your godfather and the Master needed a break for a bit" explained the Doctor talking to Harry like the tot that he was.
"Fine let's just get the milk and other stuff we need. Please?" Asked Harry he could feel Sirius' eyes boring into his back obviously wanting to say something about them only returning for milk but also relieved that he had been made to come home to see him anyway.
All of Torchwood turned out of a shopping trip, with two trolly's full of milk and the other five with food in them they looked like they were gearing up for an apocalypse or something.
The rest of the day was spent at Sirius' Just catching up and allowing Sirius to see the changes in him. The day quickly passed even if Sirius spent all his time with Harry grilling him on what he had been up to and how he was now able to see time itself in full.
Harry admitted seeing time from the start to the finish of this universe was shocking for him but even as he sat talking to Sirius he felt the immediate differences from before, he knew exactly where he was on the planet and what time it was he could feel the planet rotating under his feet, it was a weird feeling one he had not noticed until they returned to Earth and the place Harry was most familiar with even though he was comfortable in the TARDIS.
Harry spent the next day on his own with Sirius, this time the Doctor and Master were off helping Jack, they spent the time catching up Sirius telling him what he had missed and Harry telling him the same but explaining everything to Sirius so that he knew Harry had no choice but to take the time to adjust to his new life as a full Timelord in this dimension but he would still be able to move to alternate universes eventually if he wanted to.
The rest of the week was spent like this Sirius had actually taken the week off work and let the Master and the Doctor fill in for him. They spent the whole of the rest of the week going over where Harry had been how he was after becoming a full timelord, Sirius tried to get him to talk about Voldemort especially after finding out he had met Death, Harry couldn't tell him what Death had discussed with him but he explained about Voldemort's horcruxes and how he had become one the night his mum and James were murdered. Sirius asked him if the Master was taking that place hence his Timelord name.
"Not in that sense Sirius, my name holds a lot more meaning than anyone in this universe realises but as it was explained to me compared to some, I am also very young, I know I go on about being an adult and compared to humans I am mentally, but even compared to the Master and the Doctor I'm a child or a tot, I've not even reached adulthood yet in their eyes, they are both over a thousand years old, compared to my thirty two-ish maybe thirty five I'm not sure I actually know, I would have to get SATURN to work it out of me and then add twenty years before I got her. But the fact still remains I'm very young compared to some and to others I will always be young."
The questions carried on throughout the week they would sit and just talk about Harry's five-year gap away, as well as more about Voldemort, until Sunday night when Harry thought he would be leaving again.
