There next trip took them to an underground settlement that seemed to be at war. They hadn't made it twenty feet from the TARDIS when they were surrounded by solders pointing guns at them. Donna, the Doctor and the Master all held their hands up Harry though whipped out his hand and formed a dome shield around them to block kinetic attacks.

The next five minutes were like a Mexican standoff, they kept asking if they were clean and demanding to see their hands and wrists, eventually all but Harry showed them their hands with their wrists uncovered, it got even worse when they found no scars on their hands. They started herding them along towards where their settlement was. When they reached some sort of machine, things turned serious and deadly.

"There is no way any of us males are going to go into one of those machines, they are Progenation machines, they would take our DNA and split it which would result in a person being grown and having information shoved into their heads. Donna would be okay because she is pure human we are not we have no human DNA and it would overwhelm any teenager you tried to grow from our own DNA." The Master spoke with a commanding frigid voice. There was no way they were getting their hands on Timelord DNA.

"Then she will be processed and you three will be killed"

"I think you've worked out by now not only do your threats mean nothing to us that you don't realise the situation you are actually in. There will be no harvesting of any of us without consent!" Spoke Harry after throwing another shield around the four of them again.

The clatter of gun fire quickly stopped as the bullets ricochet off his shield one or two hitting the solders lucky not in any lethal areas. The soldiers not hit were keeping their guns pointed at the four, but the others were seeing to their own wounds.

"Now than before you end up killing off everybody on your side!" Here Harry gave him an unimpressed look at what had happened to the shot soldiers.

"Let me reiterate my father's statement none of us will be giving unwilful DNA, however considering we are trying to build relations as it will not affect your equipment of the teenager grown, Donna may volunteer to offer her own DNA. But only if she agrees. Understood?"

Donna looked to the Master he seemed to know more about the equipment than even the Doctor.

"What would happen if I did donate my DNA to this machine and how does it work?"

"You basically place you hand and arm into that receptacle there, then in the tube next to it a teenager is grown from your DNA after the cells are separated out and recombined. the infusion of new blood and DNA would be very welcomed by them and even though it's your DNA the teenager wouldn't recognise you as anything other than part of our party. They implement their own information into the brain as it is grown giving them lessons on a multitude of things, but it only takes them seconds to learn all this as they grow into a teenager. The decision is yours, but it will do nothing other than leave a scar on your hand for about a day, it why they wanted to see our hands and wrists to begin with!"

"Okay lets build some trust here yeah? I am willing to donate my DNA, as long as we get an agreement that no one will try to copy the males with me DNA. It could blow up all these that you have, that's why they are stopping you, they are trying to help. While donating my DNA perhaps if you agree Harry will heal those hurt through your own foolishness!"

"Why can't we use the males and what was that shield that sprang up around you? Shields aren't that compact."

It was the Doctors turn to answer so looking at the lad who seemed to be in charge he tried to explain.

"We are not human like you, we are much older than any of us look not only that but our species can see the shifting of time, to try to give that to a human their mind would snap they would go mad from it, they would litterally burn up from the inside, we are built to do it they wouldn't be, the disaster they could do is unimaginable but they could literally snap and go on a mad rampage that you would never recover from and whoever you are fighting would win!" He knew what would happen all three of them did as they looked forward in time almost instinctually.

"Okay that doesn't actually sound good, I suppose it's a good job you stopped us. But how did you stop us?"

"Even though my father is of the same species as the Doctor I'm not exactly, I'm the next evolution in our species it gives me the ability to direct psionic abilities like that shield. As old fashioned as it sounds or as stupid, think of it a bit like magic and all you can imagine having that available to you and that is basically what I am I had to grow slowly into my powers, if I had donated DNA they would have my psionic abilities from the start and could blow up this entire base by accident, they need to grow and learn control, suddenly giving superpowers to a teenager without explanation is a disaster wating to explode!"

"Right so you three are to be kept away from the machines if only for our own self-preservation, the lady though will give a DNA sample."

"I think you mean that you would like her too, do not expect her to do it on your say so?" It was the Doctor who spoke, not even needing to look at his eyes he could imagine the oncoming storm starting to stir. The doctor would protect all three of them with his life if he had to his companions were precious to him.

"Errrr…Y….Ye...Yes that was exactly what I meant if she is prepared to, but my commanding officer might demand it anyway. He's over all in charge and while he will agree that we can't let you near the sequencers because of all the danger no such argument can be made for the lady."

"I'm prepared to offer my DNA but perhaps it should wait until we get to your main base, then your commanding officer who is overall in charge according to you, will be able to decide if he wants our help or not! If he doesn't then we will return to where you found us and leave!" spoke Donna rather forcefully.

"AGREED!" spoke four voices the three Timelords and the teenager in charge, surprisingly at the same time as well.

Harry started to heal all those that had been hit by bullets within five minutes they were in the middle of the group of soldiers surrounding them with the leader in front of them, taking them to the main compound Harry noticed Donna was preoccupied by looking at something on the walls and at corridors and rooms leading off the main tunnel they were traveling, Harry was busy checking the timeline in front of them to see how well they would be received. So far it all looked eventually okay but there would be some strong words spoken while at the main compound.

As they approached the main compound Harry refocused on what was going on now glancing to his left then right, he could see that the Doctor and obviously the Master had looked as well seeing their stiff shoulders relaxed for the first time they had been surrounded by the soldiers.

They were taken to a rather large room that was set up as a main base of operations. The lead teenager waved for the other to keep them surrounded not for their sakes but his, he had to explain everything quickly to his commanding officer before he gave an order that could kill them all, he did not want anyone else dying if that boy raised that shield again, this room had a lot more people in it.

There seemed to be an undercurrent as the teenager explained everything to his commanding officer while pointing to the four in the middle and gesturing with his hands and arms. Eventually there seemed to be a consensus decided and the two with some others walked over to the four.

"So you four just end up in one of the tunnels we're trying to gain control of, and it seems as though some of you are being awkward about giving us DNA samples so we can continue fighting and increasing our number. We must get our numbers up to fight the Hath over this planet." Started the commander and Harry felt his hand squeeze by the Master.

"We have already explained to the child, that if any three of us give you a DNA sample you are likely to lose the planet in the ensuing destruction and explosions. We can leave whenever we want it looks like you lot can't, so why don't you tell us what is going on and we will try to help, cause us any more problems or demanded anything of us, and we will crack this planet like it got hit by a meteor half the size of it. You will NOT be getting genetic samples of us other than of Donna's and that is her decision. She is the only one in our group who could do this without destroying everything in its path. Is that understood commander, or would you like it spelled out for you?" Demanded the Master, there was no way he or his son were giving DNA samples.

"Are you threating me? Grab them!" Demanded the commander of his troops.

Suddenly they were secure within Harry's shield with the ones surrounding them on the outside of it the four of them under it protected. The commander's eyes popped out at the shield. He hadn't believed the teenager in charge of capturing them.

"What part of our DNA is vastly different to yours did you not understand?" Demanded the Master

"What is this!?" Demanded the commander right back.

"This is the metaphysical that our DNA contains to allow us to draw and use psionic energy, but we are born with that and taught how to control it from a small child onwards plus it takes us at least a hundred years to grow into an adult and gain full mastery and control from our species. Whereas you are grown humans from DNA samples." Explained the Master in a deadly voice everyone was looking at him even the Doctor looked ready to say something but let the Master play it out.

They both knew that from within his shield Harry could take them all back to the TARDIS if he decided to in an emergency. They were all safe for now at least and the commander could be delt with at their leisure.

"Now then are you going to tell us what is going on here or would you prefer us to leave while you fight in a meaningless war?" Asked, well more like demanded, the Master.

The commander didn't know what to do you could see he was not used to being given orders as he normally was the one doing that, and it was obvious he really did not like the situation he was now in.

"I will tell you what is happening while Clein takes the woman to have her DNA scanned, and another soldier to help us." At this he nodded to the lead teenager and Donna.

"Before we allow you to give life to someone else, I want to know what is going on!" demanded the Doctor. This really irked the commander, and all could see it.

"It's okay Doctor they can take the DNA sample. While explaining what is going on here. There is something wrong with the all the numbers I've been seeing all over the place, try to find out what that is about!'" spoke Donna gently.

As she was led off to one of the machines within the room Cobb as they had heard the commander being called looked to the three males remaining.

"The fighting broke out over fifteen generations ago, us and the Hath fighting over this planet. The outside is a wasteland only the tunnels and the inside of these chambers are safe to travel but the Hath have the other side of this place as their base. We are looking for the source that is said to have been released and contained by our ancestors at the start of the universe it will allow us to kill off all the Hath and allow us to start living again, instead of constantly fighting them."

They had slowly been moved to a tabletop that was holographic. Donna re-joined them while a female that had come out of the machine was stripping and loading a machine gun she had been given. The table showed the complex but not all of it, you could tell, there were pieces of it missing after a few seconds of the doctor playing with the setting on his screwdriver the suddenly missing pieces of the holographic image showed all of the complex in its full entirety especially the large spire in the middle of the complex.

Cobb shouted for all his people to arm up and get ready to move out they had found where the source was hidden. Within five minutes the whole room they were in, was full of soldiers getting ready to move out.

In the chaos the four of them slipped off, soon followed by the one Donna had given life to.

They quickly ran towards the most direct route they could find within the complex. Harry couldn't just take them there he needed to know where he was going to move them to. Even SATURN couldn't take them there she was sentient and always ensured he arrived in a safe environment but that didn't mean she could pick and choose where she took Harry to on a blind destination, also for some reason she could only pull the complete complex up when the Doctor found it on the holographic display in the large room they had escaped from.

It involved a lot of running, an awful lot actually. As they tried to bypass checkpoints set up by both the Hath and the humans, they seemed to be slowly making progress and according to SATURN they were the nearest for the moment to the central complex. At one point laser beams had cut off a corridor they needed to go down, they went the entire length crisscrossing to make it nearly impossible to pass. Harry grabbed everyone before anyone could come up with a solution and moved the now five of them to the other end of the corridor.

Jenny, Donna's DNA teenager, had followed them and then caught up to them asking to help them, as she was unarmed, they had agreed.

When they finally made it to the main complex Donna let out a huge gasp as right in front of her were the numbers changing in front of her, the numbers she had been fascinated with. When she explained what she had found the Doctor asked her for the number in the complex they were taken to and it showed that this war that had lasted at least fifteen generations had happened within a week, this last week to be exact. The Doctor and Master as well as Harry realised, they were actually on a colony ship. The doctor accessed the files and found out that the war had broken out when the leader of them all had died and the rest of the colony group couldn't decide on a new leader between the Hath and Humans it had led to the war they were seeing now.

Soon they were running again as they heard the others getting into the ship Donna asked if they could smell flowers and the Doctor changed course running to a small forest and plant life, at the centre stood a round-sphere with complex colours shifting through it.

"What is it? It's beautiful, why is it in the middle of all this vegetation" Asked Jenny.

"Because that's what it does. All this, only bigger. Much bigger! It's in a transit state. Producing all this must help keep it stable before they finally…."

The doctor had to stop because suddenly they were surrounded by Hath and Humans with the commander in the lead.

"Stop! Hold your fire!" Shouted the Doctor to both sides

What is this? Some kind of trap?" Demanded the commander

"You said you wanted this war over."

"I want this war won."

"You can't win. No one can. You don't even know why you're here. Your whole history, it's just Chinese whispers. Getting more distorted the more it's passed on." Pointing to the sphere.

"This is the Source. This is what you're fighting over. A device to rejuvenate a planet's ecosystem. It's nothing mystical. It's from a laboratory, not some creator. It's a bubble of gases. A cocktail of stuff for accelerated evolution. Methane, hydrogen, ammonia, amino acids, proteins, nucleic acids. It's used to make barren planets habitable. Look around you! It's not for killing, it's bringing life. If you allow it, it can lift you out of these dark tunnels and into the bright, bright sunlight! No more fighting. No more killing." Spoke the Doctor with compassion and understanding. Picking up the sphere he threw it onto the ground while speaking

"I'm the Doctor, and I say this war is over!" Suddenly the sphere smashed releasing all of its process

"What does it mean?" asked Donna

"It means a whole new world for these people the terraformer will do its work and this planet will become lush green with a breathable atmosphere, the terraformer will unbury the complex as it works making it stand above ground so now it can all be used to its full intended protentional." Spoke the Master with conviction and surprisingly some compassion for what these people had gone through.

"No not with the Hath" Spoke the commander with hatred in his voice he grabbed his side arm and was moving it from side to side, the Hath were behind the four of them, suddenly he shot towards Donna and before anyone could do anything the bullet was released. Jenney was nearest to Donna and did something monumentally stupid and brave, that she could have been in Gryffindor. As the bullet fired Jenny stepped in its path.

Four screams of 'Jenny' were shouted out as she crumbled to the ground all four ran to her, Donna catching her in her arms as she was lowered to the ground.

"Come on Jenny, you can pull through" Spoke the Doctor with desperation.

Harry had pulled his wand and was rapidly casting at Jenny until he suddenly stopped, and a tear fell from one of his eyes. The other three looked at him and saw the tear, he shook his head there was noting he could do the bullet had nicked her heart and lungs.

The Doctor went from devastated to angry in a second, the commander had been restrained by his own men and was on his knees.

The Doctor picked up the gun that had belonged to the commander and pointed it at his head, he was actually shaking he was that angry. Suddenly he threw the gun away while bending down looking at the commander.

"I never would. Have you got that? I never would!" He stood up again and addressed both fighting parties. Shouting out in anger.

"When you start this new world. This world of Humans and Haths... remember that! Make the foundation of this society. A man who never would!" with that he turned around and gently picking jenny up from the floor He started to move off the others following him.

The doctor had realised he didn't know what those machines were as he would have stuck his own arm in without second thought and that would have left this to be his possible daughter.

It took nearly an hour for them to move to the chapel that was on the schematics, the Doctor gently placed her on a stone alter and lay her down brushing her hair from across her face. Donna looked numb.

"She could have been made from my DNA, I didn't know what those machines were if it wasn't for the Master…She could have been part of me, but it would have been an echo of what a true Timelord is, yet she was still a human being with free will at the end of the day, she turned away from her programming of a soldier and tried to help instead. she will hopefully be the last death this planet sees in the immediate future!" Just as he finished rays of sun lit through the windows shining light on the body as though acknowledging the Doctors words and letting them know things would change now for the better.

Both human and Hath came to pay their respects to the girl. The Doctor had made an impression and the two sides were working together or at least were able to be in the same room with each other without trying to kill the other, there had been enough death.

As the day passed on and turned into the night you could see the complex slowly being unburied from the surrounds soil as it was converted into vegetation and other minerals needed to terraform a planet.

Three days later as the Doctor and the Master were sorting out the terraforming and helping the two sides, the who complex became visible. Even the air had been purified and was able now to be breathed.

Jenny was laid to rest five days after the ending of the war, everyone alive turned out for the last resting place of Jenny Noble with a tree buried and growing on top of her and a marble grave, listing the death of the commanding team and finally Jenny Noble 'the last to sacrifice herself in a meaningless war' then opposite stood another monument that showed what had happened to the two sides after the original team fell apart. Leading to a meaningless war for seven days with thousands killed on both sides.

After watching Jenny being laid to rest the four made their way back to the TARDIS looking around as they walked to where she was parked, the complex was now fully unburied and was in use being tidied up and getting ready for co-habitation. Finally, they made it back to the TARDIS and with one look back at the area they were parked in the four entered her.
