The four of them stood around the control centre as the Doctor took her into the time vortex.
There was nothing anyone could say to make any of them feel better even Harry was upset about this adventure, after everything that the Doctor had told them then tried to show them. Especially because as he had pointed out that could have been his daughter that was just shot.
They were just stood there lost in their own thoughts when a mobile phone that was hooked up to the TARDIS wirelessly, rang, all four jumped.
The Doctor quickly answered it knowing who had given him the phone. It was Martha Jones calling them back to earth to work as she needed their help.
Giving him day and time she needed him and where to arrive, the Doctor let Harry pilot them to where they were going and when they were, unsurprising with Harry piloting they arrived just as Martha put her phone away.
UNIT led by Martha, as she had brought the three Timelords to help them, raided what turned out to be an ATMOS factory. Donna was the one to find the in-consistence's of workers being off ill.
It was shortly after Donna and Martha had spoken while the Doctor and the Master were looking over the ATMOS device that they decided to split up, Donna and Harry decided to pay her family a visit while the Doctor and Master went to speak to the designer a genius teenager.
Donna and Harry got a lift from unit to Donna's house. The meeting was interesting, her grandfather was happy to see her and welcomed Harry into the house being introduced as Harry the Master's and Doctors son when he saw the smile Wilfred sent him he felt all warm inside. Her mother wasn't home at the time she was out running errands.
They spent a couple of hours talking about their adventures and how it involved a lot of running so she wanted some trainers from her room while she was here.
It was as they were leaving that they ran into trouble as the ATMOS device on the Land-rover they were using started to pump smoke into the car sealing the driver inside. It was Wilfred that put a bat through the window and Harry quickly released the bonnet clip and had ripped the ATMOS device out of the car. Unfortunately, something had gone wrong in the timeline and all the ATMOS systems started to pour gas out into the atmosphere.
Harry instructed Wilfred to go back into the house and block all entrances that air could get in to keep the smoke out. The driver was thankfully fine now he could breathe properly again, even with every ATMOS car pumping fumes out of their exhaust. They set off at top speed back to where UNIT was basing this operation out of. One of the only cars with ATMOS installed that was still running around and not just pumping toxic gas into the atmosphere, well it would have been installed if Harry hadn't ripped it out of the Land-rover when it first went off on them.
They arrived to hear the Doctor ordering UNIT to pull its solders back and to barricade the doors on their way out, unfortunately all they heard over the radio chatter was screaming soldiers as they died in droves. The Valient was overhead removing the gas from around them but it only cleared a small pocket of breathable air over the facility, not a single soldier got out.
After a lot of running around with the Master and Doctor to and from the teenager's school for the gifted, the Doctor teleporting to and from the Sontaran mothership in orbit. They found out what they were dealing with. They Found out through interegation, I.E the Doctor talking until whoever he was up against started to lay all their plans out for him, the Sontaran wanted this world as another cloning planet for their population, but none of them would confirm what the ATMOS did. The Master and Doctor explained to Harry they were one of the species that was angry at them over the time war, but only because the Timelords wouldn't let them help. After another discussion with the Sontaran, the Teenager Luke Rattigan was the one who ended up sacrificing his own life to blow up the mother ship.
When everything was finally settled it turned out that the Sontaran's really had wanted the world for a cloning planet and had been lying to Luke Rattigan that they would allow him and his chosen to colonise a new planet not knowing he was giving up the Earth to them for it. The devices would have pumped noxious gasses into the air which would have converted the world into a perfect cloning world for the Sontaran. Yet before Luke Rattigan had died he still had not solved the problem of how to terraform a planet something not easily done especial in this time period on Earth.
The teen hadn't made it, he was blown up on the mothership as he exploded it to stop them getting the earth. The Master seemed to grumble a lot about running throughout it all even over the debrief. Which was mainly Harry, the Doctor, the Master, Martha and the top brass of UNIT.
It had been an eventful couple of days for them all and the Doctor decided that they would all go back to Sirius' house for the night.
Donna had collected not only trainers but more clothing for herself even though the TARDIS did have a massive wardrobe on board.
Sirius was happy to see them all and meet Donna again, it seemed the information about ATMOS had come down the gossip channels to Jack who had told all his team in case they needed to do anything even though UNIT assured everyone they had it under control. Which with the Doctor and the Master there, they did.
There was only one Sontaran that lived, a commander Strax, who the Doctor had met and knocked unconscious. At the same time. He got the full oncoming storm and was doing penance as a battlefield nurse. It was the most degrading thing a Sontaran could ever be made to do. Yet one look at the Doctor and he agreed to his penance the Doctor told him he would know when it was over.
It was really weird to watch humans from the distant future fighting with guns that looked like they came from the 1950's and battlefields set up like in World War two, if it wasn't for the truth of all the people dying it would have looked like a brilliant re-enactment of the fight for the independence of America.
They were soon back with Sirius. Who while happy to see Harry, was still upset over the reports he had read. To be fair though Harry really didn't get into a lot of trouble, well where he could be seen anyway the reports for Torchwwood from SATURN had not gone down well with Sirius knowing Harry was putting his life in danger each time he travelled to keep history correct, something the Doctor was meant to do.
The night came soon enough, and they retired to the TARDIS. First the kitchen, then the lounge before retiring to their own rooms, Sirius taking the one he had used before. The others going to their respective rooms that they permanently had. Harrys spent half an hour cleaning up he had books and notes all over the study area of his room for his engineering course he was still taking and getting really into. He had already started to make small repairs and alterations to the TARDIS from where the Doctor had done his own repairs, one item was a sieve on a pole connected to wires that led right under the main console, he had no idea what that was for but he would eventually learn and replace it hopefully. After all it was a sieve.
The next morning the four of them had breakfast before dropping Sirius off at work and then they were in the time vortex while trying to decide where to go. Eventually the decided on a beach break at a holiday planet in 4222, Harry still wanted to do his course work on top of his ordinary lessons, but because it was classed as a holiday Harry only spent two hours a morning working on them before having the rest of the day for fun with his dad's and Donna.
They had decided to finish their holiday and were going to go on their next adventure. They had just got into the vortex and decided on the first carnival of Rio in 1723. Harry was the first to open the door this time while the others were grabbing things.
"Erm…You might want to have a look at just where we've arrived"
Harry lifted his finger licked it and held it up
"We're in a bloody library, they had better not have a pool. In fact, we're in a massive library I would say!"
Turning around he shut the door and walked over to the others only for a signal to come through the TARDIS mainframe saying 'see you soon sweeties.'
"How did someone get the TARDIS to alter its pre-programed destination and overwrite it to move us here, wherever we are?" Demanded Harry
"I actually don't know, want to find out?" Asked the Doctor with a gleam in his eye it looked like it was going to be trouble this adventure.
After the Master grumbling a bit all four of them were walking out to a balcony open to the fresh air. With books lining everything around them.
